Costa Azzurra

I just bought a 50ml bottle from Neimans today and I'll start off by saying that while many may think that this fragrance isn't interesting or different enough to be part of the Private Blend line... it needs to be. Yes, this is more your mainstream "cologne" scent, but regardless, its still very good. Tom Ford has been completely off his mark lately with the majority of the Atelier d'Orient collection, (aside from Plum Japonais), his Jardin Noir collection, Jasmin Rouge, Santal Blush, Tobacco Oud, etc. The majority of the ones he's been coming out with lately don't deserve to even be mentioned in the same sentence with some of the originals like Tobacco Vanille, Arabian Wood, the original Oud Wood, Noir de Noir, etc., much less actually sold as part of the same line. He's been needing to put out something that many people will like in order to keep the line alive, and this is exactly what he's done. Everybody should like Costa Azzurra, its not too strong, its a fairly "happy" scent, its just good overall. Nobody who smells it is going to think it smells bad, just some may like it more than others. To be honest, it reminds me a little of Z by Ermenegildo Zegna.... aside from the fact that Tom Ford's is much better quality of course, smells better, and isn't "chemically" the way Z sort of is. Overall this is just a good fragrance to have in your collection. If you don't want to spend as much money, you could get Chanel Allure Homme or something along those lines for a lot less money..... but still I like Costa Azzurra a lot. Its definitely more of an everyday "going to get Starbucks", "going out with your girlfriend to see a movie", "wanting to ask a girl on a date", etc. kind of fragrance. Its not going to be Tobacco Vanille, its not going to be Tuscan Leather, its not going to be Noir de Noir, but at the end of the day, its still a damn good Tom Ford that you can wear pretty much everywhere. Also as a side note, the 50ml bottle I purchased was sold for $215. I'm not sure if its only this one and Mandarino di Amalfi that are selling for $215 or if he's planning on upping the entire line to that same price... but I don't really understand what a $5 price difference does? If it only applies to the new ones, maybe it'll just be that way for a little while until they're sold in more stores, and then go down to the regular $210 (which is actually a price increase from what the bottles were originally priced at about 6 years ago when I first discovered the line lol). If anybody has any questions feel free to message me! Hope you all get a chance to smell it, because like I said, while its not anything super unique or groundbreaking for fragrances as a whole, its definitely unique and groundbreaking within the Tom Ford collection of fragrances. At the end of the day, it is a really good smelling fragrance.

I read some disparaging comments on this one so trying it for the first time I thought it was potentially going to be somewhat disappointing. Summery aquatics get a bad rap to begin with. Why? Longevity is always a factor. You just can't sustain natural citruses for any extended period of time due to their unstable and fleeting nature. Enter all sorts of synthetics, yet the result will still be the same...."fresh", "refreshing" and or "clean" will be the description. That being said, TF set the bar pretty high with Neroli Portofino as far as longevity and sillage was concerned. Unfortuantely you don't get too much variation with these types of creations either. More complex scents for winter or fall will invariably have some citruses as the top notes and they will immediately wear off, but it's no big deal when you have a huge batch of patchouli, musc, labdanum, cardamom, etc...underneath. Make a whole scent out of the top notes? It's not that easy folks and it ain't gonna last. All that being said, this is a pretty unique take on the aquatic/citrus genre. Salty, a little bit dirty yet clean, and a beautiful citrus backdrop make this way better than what many naysayers make it out to be. In fact, this is an excellent fragrance in my opinion. Huge sillage for the first hour to two, then it dies down pretty significantly sillage wise, but it does last on the skin for another four to five hours. It's not abnormal for this type of fragrance to need to be reapplied after a few hours. It's actually quite a joy to experience that first hour or so over and over again. Make a small decant, take it with you and freshen up. People will love you for the way you smell. As for the price, of course it's expensive. It's Tom Ford. That damn blue bottle is gorgeous so if you have trepidation about reapplying an expensive fragrance, stay away. However I don't feel this should detract from this genre or this particular scent. Yann Vansier is a master perfumer and this is a summer scent that is truly worth the price.

Koku dağılımı konusunda ise St. Dupont la baş edemez. Koku güzel. Bu sayfadaki yorumların çoğunda söylendiği gibi "komplex" bir yapısı falan yok. Sadece sakız, ud gibi ayrıntılarla diğer limon-portakal, vetiver çizgisine sıkışmış yaz parfümlerinden ayrılıyor. Ancak yukarda yazdığım gibi kalıcılık ve dağılım konusunda "vasat" sınırını aşamıyor. Bol bol kullanabilecekseniz bu sizin için sorun olmaz. Ancak fiyatı dikkate alındığında bunun pek mantıklı olduğunu sanmıyorum. Bu markanın parfümlerini alırken dikkatli olmanızı öneririm. Basit ve temel kokular üzerinden ürettikleri bazı parfümler her ne kadar etkileyici olsa da gerçek anlamda "yeni", "tasarlanmış" işler çıkarma konusunda çok başarılı olduklarını söylemek zor. Batılılar şişelerini bile çok beğeniyor ancak bence son derece basit ve sıradan bir tasarımı var. Tom Ford ve ürünlerini maalesef piyasanın şişirdiği düzeyde "üst taraflarda" göremiyorum. Özetle, bu rakamları verecekseniz alternatifiniz çok. Bence bu markanın hiçbir parfümünü teninizde en az 3-4 saat denemeden satın almayın. Tom Ford Costa Azzurra is an usual marine composition of driftwood, seaweed, oud, and vanilla. It embodies the beach and the ocean together in a way that I occasionally detect, for example, in Nautica Oceans, where the saltiness and near-bitterness are captured. CA has sweet vanilla, as well, though, so it does deviate from a purely natural beach smell in that respect. Not surprisingly, it starts out harsher and evolves into a sweeter dry down where the vanilla is expressed more. I've heard comparisons to Bond No. 9 Montauk and a host of other scents that I'm unfamiliar with, but CA still scores high with me in the uniqueness factor. It's a departure from most genres of aquatics, beach smells, citruses, etc. and so it has a welcome place in the TF Private Blend line. While its projection and longevity pale in comparison to its cold weather kin (Tobacco Vanille, Noir de Noir, Italian Cypress), it still performs strongly in both respects, but I can understand why a warm weather fragrance over $200 can be a challenge to justify. I'd certainly recommend at least trying it out since it's off the beaten path. I enjoy it as a warm weather option--it surely doesn't seem like typical Creeds, let alone designers, in the "fresh" realm, and rightly so, since it isn't purely fresh. I'm still puzzled by it to some extent but it fills an artistic beachy void in my collection. 8 out of 10

A very complex yet well blended fragrance to add to the robustly successful Tom Ford Private Collection. Its intricacy is evidenced by the wide array of ingredients utilized to portray the vision of the perfumer and Tom Ford. Inspired by the sprawling vegetation, hot sunlight and refreshing sea air of the Sardinia coastline, this fragrance takes one on a olfactory journey which is evocative of Meditteranean summers. The opening is sweet and refreshing, striking an accord which is reminiscent of odors of salt and brine encountered along the seashore. This is masterfully achieved by the careful blending of seaweed notes, ambrette seed, cardamom, faint oud and celery seed. Sweetness is added by yellow mandarin, lemon, and vanilla. As the fragrance evolves, we move away from the ocean towards the scraggly vegetation of the inland known as "macchia" in Italian. Here the tangled notes of juniper, lavender, myrtle, artemesia and oak collide. Wafts of resinous lentisque and olibanum filter in and out, creating a diffusing effect as if a gentle breeze is blowing by. One could argue the mainstream/pedestrian qualities of the fragrance, as it seems suitable for the masses. I chose to envelop myself in its beauty and be mesmerized by its ability to transport my mind to distant locales. (138)

A little late to the party on this...but glad I came. I’ve known about costa azzura for a long time - but the tom Ford blue bottles never really interested me. Admittedly, during one of my yourube binges, I came across a video that spoke very highly of this “anti aquatic” - and decided to pull the trigger. To my surprise - and within one week of ownership - I can confidently say that this is MY warm weather scent. It’s woody, piney and citrusy. With a minor tweak, this could be a winter scent - but it feels just right to be worn in warm weather. My lady - who actually never comments on my scent choices - has said she finds this to be the sexiest scent in my collection. I see where she’s coming from - as it’s far from your standard summer citrus/aquatic. This has a wow factor to it that I’d been missing for quite some time. It has single handedly reignited my interest in tom Ford scents. I love when I expect mediocrity - but find greatness. 9/10

My partner scored this one as a sample - it smelled good at Nordstrom on his arm. I tried it a few times myself and wow. Love this for me. He's tried a few times and neither of us likes it on him. Interesting! I get the bright and briny, citrus and sunshine effect. Energizes in the morning and mellows out for a pleasant, reassuring warm scent by the time I'm at the office. Reminds me of dry cut grass and citrus blossoms, warm (not hot) Florida afternoons as a kid on vacation. An undercurrent of musky goodness. On my partner, however, it translates as sharp, angular and biting but not in a good way. This is one of a number of scents we've tried that only one of us can pull off. Give this a try to see how it works with your chemistry. I suspect the many notes mean that its reactions to skin oils and compositions will result in different results for each wearer. For me, it's a new favorite, and I will look forward to purchasing a bottle.

I sampled various "blue bottles" from the Private Blends lineup, and to me, this is the weirdest of the bunch!! An interesting "beachy" scent for sure. But unlike other beachy scents, the focus here is not "sunscreen and tropical drinks". Its focus seems to be more of the sea, of wood that's washed ashore, of the shore itself. For me, the scent evokes driftwood that's washed up onto a white, sandy beach. I'm an oud-n00b but i think i do smell it. It's a dry woody smell, backed by a very light citrus. Funny thing, i remark it as a slighty dirty scent but my wife says it's clean to her. I would personally give this 7/10, it's very interesting and truly unique, but not something I'd wear. If i lived on the North Shore of Oahu like I've always dreamed, this would be something I'd wear there. *edit: fast forward 1 year; DID I REALLY GIVE THIS A7??? No, this is no less than an 8.5, very unique and totally unoffensive.

I've always known about Costa Azzurra and have smelled it a handful of times in the past along side its siblings Neroli Portofino, Mandarino Di Amalfi, etc. I never really thought much of it until I was given a free decant. I decided to try it on my skin rather than on the test strip at my local department store. I must say, getting to know this scent one on one for a couple of days has been one of the most exhilarating things. This is a uniquely blended fresh scent that I have slowly warmed up to and now can't see myself without! This is like that one person in your social sphere/mutual friends transform from OK looking to total baddie. Like, if she was a 6 or 7 before, she's easily a 9 now. It's also a fantastic feedback getter off my skin, for whatever that's worth. Woody ,fresh, salty goodness. Really good longevity as well!

Fresh, woody aquatic scent worthy of your attention. Also, one of the rare entries in the otherwise lovely Tom Ford "blue bottle/Private Blend" line that's not a familiar variation of the citrusy-watery trend. A clean, soft, semi-powdery aquatic top that eventually leads to a lightly woody drydown. A very evocative scent that transports one to a European beach, with young lovers wearing white basking about barefoot on an overcast day, with the coming-and-going seafoam revealing curious bits of driftwood that each have a story to tell. Genuinely lovely, and the standout of this line in my opinion. Somewhat weak longevity and projection sadly. But most with the palette and resources to seek out this pricey scent would likely know better than to squander it on a sweaty-hot summer day or in the winter. ★★★ out of ★★★★.

beautiful...simply gorgeous....that opening is like a dream...love it....the drydown is also great.i see the comparison with bvlgari aqva prolly for the seaweed note..but if you havent tried the davidoff silver shadow altitude...smell this and that one side by side...very very close...and the davidoff lasts longer than the TF one...but blend wise i prefer definitely the TF....then again...price point wise...too pricey...get the davidoff at a fraction of a price and thank me later.this one is fresh...sea side feel...and very aromatic...and natural for the smell 10/10 longevity is good...8/10 versatility: good for summer day time occasion...both casual and formal age...little mature...25 and up overall...8/10(coz its pricey) highly recommended if you have the cash for it

This is a unisex fragrance but I do not see reviews from women...I found this fragrance in DutyFree and it is one of my favorite scents now! It replaced my all time fav discontinued D&G BY. I cannot stand vanila, sweet scents, it chokes me creating a headache, so I switched to unisex and men perfumes...This one is a hit, any time I wear this scent people ask what it is. The scent stays fresh for hours, no "old lady scent" as most fruity perfumes turn to (my daughter's term which describes perfectly the scent like Chanel#5). I think this perfume is perfect for the aging skin, for young girls it is not a good choice. I wish the price tag would be more affordable though...

The second I smelled this I knew why they chose that name. It literally smells like the cote d'azur in a bottle. And it's amazing how this smell can transport you to a place. I tested this without looking at the name and I instantly thought: south france, the beach. Then I saw the name and yeah it just clicks. I think that only people who have been there will understand this smell. Because man some reviews of this are harsh. This for me rates higher than neroli portofino, why? (my barber used to pour 4711 cologne in my hair and for me neroli portofino smells exactly the same).

Is anyone else getting an 90's aquatic vibe from this one? I am reminded of Aramis' New West and Calvin Klein's Escape for Men. All three certainly have the aromatic lavender-juniper heart notes going on. The beginning has a similar fruity-aquatic-woody accord like Escape. I smell birch in Costa Azzurra, maybe it's the "driftwood" accord. After it moves into the drydown, it begins to smell more like New West's recognizable fresh peppery pine aroma. I actually like it. It wears well and I have been looking for a more modern take on two of my favorite classics.

For me the real fragrance of summer..Talking about the smell of a real italian beach, the one I'm grown playing in, where you smell algae, pines an juniper, wet Woods and salty seawater.Today's summer perfumes are all about sunscreens smell,coconut and sweet fruit something, but that's not the smell of my coasts, the mediterranean Tarquinia Lido. Costa azzurra is a journey through my best summer memories and emotions, the feelings you share with your skin smell, the sun and the pine behind your house..Gorgeous

What a beautiful fresh smell with intriguing depth. I just had 1 spray on my neck at the mall 4 hours ago and I keep on smelling these beautiful drafts once in a while. To me it has absolutely nothing to do with the ck's and georgio Armani, and the other popular ones. Yes the opening seems a bit standard but just wait for it... This is one of the most beautiful summer scent I've tested in a long time.

As others have said, the above notes are totally wrong for this version, so don't expect it to smell like the Signature version. It's actually much closer to the parfum, but much more refined/higher quality. There's a distinct anise quality which I don't get from any other iterations in the Costa Azzura line. They're all great in their own way, the parfum being the one that interests me the least.

Longevity wasn't bad at all. I could still notice it after 6 hours and one shower, so I'm going to say it should last for 8 hours, but projection isn't anything amazing. I wouldn't say its a skin scent, but its not too far off. Someone could smell it if they were standing right next to you, but thats probably about it. This is my favorite Tom Ford fragrance. It instantly transports me to a boat just off the shore of a tropical Island. The dry down is even better! Completely ignore the comment saying it smells like Old spice. I wish old spice smelled this good! I highly suggest going down to your local Dillards, they should have a complete Tom Ford display where you can smell for yourself.

always gonna be in my top 5 ,funny other reviewer down below says reminds him of athens ,this takes me back to when i lived in kerkira/corfu ,wow the beach the sea the ladies lol love it ,and the memories .dont ask me what it smells like its more of a time and place for me .one thing it does not smell of is warrior by armaf ,million miles from that .

Simply FABULOUS!!!! Completely wonderful on me. I love it. It's very very weird and interesting, and the last thing I would have thought would smell good on me, but boy!!! It certainly does. You just never know how your body and a perfume will work together, do you? I love the beach smell; the oh, so natural smells.......it's absolutely beautiful.

This version of Costa Azzurra is a Fresh Woody Aromatic fragrance with Juniper Berries, Lemon and Myrtle at the top. The heart features Cypress and Pine Needles on a base of Mastic, Amber and Labdanum. The notes listed in the pyramid here are for the Signature Collection version from 2021.

Started off liking this, considered selling it, grew into using it and now I love it! This is a very masculine, Italian style summer scent - and I get tons of compliments when wearing it. Very sophisticated and very versatile. The dry down is absolutely superb. Just a excellent fragrance!

Beautiful marine-woody fragrance perfect for hot weather. Waw, I love it. By the way, be aware of those CK/Gucci casuals who don't have a clue about fragrances and who still don't get that perfume is an art. You take your time with it, you savor it, then you give your opinion.

Born and raised in a city near the sea. Been away for 7 years and this reminds me of those moments during summer when I went to the beach with my friends. Smells like seaweed, salty water, wet rocks, sunshine and yachts. Very underrated one from Tom Ford

Manly, dark, mysterious, aquatic, beautiful. TF is amazing in all he does. The way this can be so dark and yet so Spring and Summer like is amazing. The scent will stay for awhile although the projection isnt great. Excellent hot weather scent.

My all time favorite cologne for my husband. Smoky, woody but still fresh and bright and not overly serious, while still being unique. This is the epitome of what a 30 something man should wear. I seriously hope they do not discontinue this!

The opening is pretty unspectacular. I think, oh, another "clean smell". But when it gets to the basenotes, this stuff is gorgeously clean and just undeniably sexy. It's a skin scent, probably good for an intimate moment.

Had a TF rep tell me today that this was being discontinued this year in favor of Oud Minerale. She said that it was a surprising move to her, but so was the decision to discontinue Italian Cypress.

Who disliked this fragrance??? You haven't even smelled it yet. What a shame. The fragrance gods do not look favorably upon your actions.

This is an amazing scent. The first time I smelled this it really blew me away. I will definately get me a bottle of this. 9.5/10

Very good, luxurious as any TF product . i got the sample , it smells very beach to me, a fabulous beach in the Mediterranean .

great, unique summer scent, but longevity is poor. recommend based on uniqueness, but the price is too high. 8.5/10

Tom Ford Costa Azzurra opens with a moderate projection of woody and marine accords. The opening is very pleasant, unique, and different. The seaweed is the most noticeable opening accord, it can be described as a salty, seawater, and green note. The driftwood is next and it is certainly more prominent that the agarwood and oak, enhancing the marine accords with its salty and woody touch. The spices are also noticeable they come across as very warm, dry, and aromatic. The fourth most noticeable accord is a combination of resinous notes, the mastic, olibanum, and incense, create a woody resinous, and earthy touch. The notes are well blended, the initial projection is moderate, and the tones are distinguishable from each other. As the fragrance dries down, the vanilla and vetiver add a very soft sweet, and green touch but faint. The most noticeable change from the opening to the dry-down is the dissipation of the citrus accords which come up briefly during the opening, and, the faint sweet vanilla and vetiver which come up towards the dry-down. Once Tom Ford Cost Azzurra has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, resinous, seaweed, spicy, and woody smoky fragrance with very soft sweet, and green touches. The fragrance feels diurnal, earthy, exotic, marine, mature, mild, modern, salty oceanic, playful, resinous, slightly smoky, special, unique, versatile, woody, and very pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020 WOW RATING: 9/10. The combination of marine, wood, and spicy notes is impressive. DISLIKE RATING: 3/10. Some people could dislike the seaweed, marine, and salty accords, they are prominent. UNIQUENESS: 10/10. A unique combination of notes created a unique easy to recognize fragrance. MASS APPEAL: 3/10. This is not a mass-appeal fragrance. PROJECTION: 3/10. Moderate to low, about 3 feet around the wearer. Up-close is intense. SILLAGE: 2/10. Low, very little. APPLICATION: 4 or more applications to improve performance. LONGEVITY: 3/10. Moderate to low, about 3 hours with 1 hour of moderate projection. SEASONS: Spring, summer, and fall. The fragrance is overall fresh. OCCASIONS: Formal events, outdoor gatherings, office, casual, holidays. This is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 7/10. The fragrance is versatile. Bond No 9 Wall Street, includes marine, leather, and spicy notes; Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Men EDT includes marine, floral, and spicy notes; Paco Rabanne - Invictus Legend Men EDP by Paco Rabanne, includes predominant marine and grapefruit notes. SUMMARY: A moderate projection, resinous, seaweed, spicy, and woody smoky fragrance with very soft sweet, and green touches. The fragrance feels diurnal, earthy, exotic, marine, mature, mild, modern, salty oceanic, playful, resinous, slightly smoky, special, unique, versatile, woody, and very pleasant.

This is effervescent tropical deliciousness! I know most girls love Neroli Portofino, but I am quite ambivalent about it. Citrus and tropical fruits needs woody spiciness to give it flavor, and flavor is what Costa Azzurra offers. To my nose, the driftwood is not rotting (at least, it’s not a ugly decomposition, moreso ‘aged’ and ‘dense’) nor is the sea kelp too briney. There is a hint of blossom and sweet fruitiness. Just the right notes to bring me to the seaside, salty wind blowing in my hair, pink skies and blue waters at sunset. Super sexy summer scent that is much more rounded than others in the Amalfi Coast collection. It’s complex yet familiar. The full bodied spices help transition it from day to night, though I personally prefer it for night. I wear it myself but would love to smell it on a man. Buy the body spray version if you want to try it without committing fully. Let’s admit it - this collection of PBs aren’t exactly longevity bombs, so get you a body spray canister so you can reapply without guilt.

Took me a few wears to like this one. On me, the opening projects like crazy and is fairly spicy and woody. Once it settled though, this smells real nice. Not as in-your-face, but still retaining that woody, salty character with nice depth. I get fantastic longevity (7-8 hours), surprisingly, on just 4-5 sprays to the chest (after the shower and with moisturizer). Lasts long enough that it could be used as a signature scent in the springtime. I wouldn’t wear this in the summer though as it is fairly strong and heavy (for an aquatic). I also wouldn’t reach for this one if I want to wind down and relax, as I think other options from Tom Ford are better for that (Neroli Portofino, Mandarino di Amalfi, etc.). A great companion for vacations. More depth and performance than the acqua version, as expected. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Projection: 8/10 (2 hours) Overall: 8/10

CA is a nice, woody aquatic, with some depth and complexity from the strong but balanced note of cypress, and I find it refreshing in a coniferous sort of way. This and the mild insence, oud (driftwood?) and seaweed make it stand apart from the other blue bottles with a masculine, "dirty" accord. I agree with another reviewer who said it smells like the actual beach, not the sunbathers on it. It is not a daring or unique fragrance, which I think leaves many TF fans flat. Longevity is above average for this category. The dry down and ultimate skin scent are very good. It's a nice change from the more intense TFs for the warmer months, and different from the other citrusy freshies but I'm not sure it's worth the price difference from designer aquatics by Armani or Bulgari. It reminds me of the rugged Big Sur/Monterey coastline. 8/10.

I am a huge fan of Tom Ford's private line and I was looking forward to smelling this one. This is a really weird fragrance. The opening is a bit bad, reminds me of some old lady perfume of the 70s. After 5 minutes or so it transforms to a wonderful skin summer scent with minimum projection. It is slightly closer to the neroli portofino forte than to any other perfume of this line. I also have to say that I love the colour of the bottle, the marketing campaign got me into dreaming of being in Costa Azzurra, having a wonderful posh life, full of laziness and luxury. Not sure if the perfume itself worths the money of its price though. *This review was written after several full wearings of the perfume and not just after smelling this on paper or on wrist.

This is a luxurious and evocative fragrance that really captures the essence of the mediterranean coastline! When I wear this, I feel like I am standing on the shore, feeling the hot sun and salty sea breeze on my skin. It opens with citrus and aromatic herbs which seamlessly transition into a heart of driftwood, seaweed and subtle spices, creating a salty, sun-kissed effect. The base of warm olibanum, oak and incense add to its depth, making it both fresh and sensual. Compared to the Signature Line version, I find the Private Blend to feel richer and more complex, exuding a refined elegance perfect for warm weather sophistication. I am glad I was able to track down a bottle at a local perfume store!

This has grown on me. I thought it was gimicky at first, but now I find myself reaching for it a lot on warm Summer days. I think it's the most interesting and creative of the Aqua line. If I only had one, yes I would pick Neroli, or Mandarino. But if you have a lot of great citrus and Neroli frags, you may really appreciate this as I do, when you want something fresh and intriguing. I love the sour celery seed, and Herby Mediterranean Myrtle. My Mom was a florist who collected drift wood, to make flower arrangements with them. So, yes this does smell like wet old drift wood. It has the nice resins in the base, but the freshness and saltiness are up front. Rating: 8.5/10 God bless you. John 3:16

Opening can be a little intense to some noses. I get a strong blast of what I think is oud and seaweed. As this dries down about an hour later, its very pleasant. Salty and woody to my nose with a splash of citrus. Leans quite masculine on me and is a true aquatic, reminding me of the ocean. This is what a middle aged man walking on the coast of the Mediterranean smells like, guaranteed. I think this is a high quality aquatic and fills a missing spot in my collection. Tom never ceases to amaze my nose! EDIT: This one turned too floral on my skin, I was wanting more saltiness from the seaweed so I ended up parting ways with it. Sad, because I thought this was the marine scent for me!

Top: seaweed, driftwood, agarwood (oud), ambrette (musk mallow), celery seeds and cardamom Middle: juniper, myrtle, lavender, lemon, yellow mandarin and artemisia Base: mastic or lentisque, olibanum, incense, vanilla, vetiver and oak Opens very pine-y. I'm guessing that's the juniper. The salty sea scent is there as is the lemon and mandarin. Nice scent but honestly smells like a million other (cheaper) frags, just more well done. Definitely a masculine fragrance. It has a strong soapyness to it, so much so that I swear I've smelled it as a men's bodywash in the past. This is a great fragrance overall but nothing special. Not worth the money.

When you put it on, the lime and something chemical is indeed a little bit harsh and soapy. After a few minutes, Driftwood and a little Oud and Lavender kicks in. The Lime and Mandarin stays a little milder as in the opening. It's not as salty and dirty as Azure Lime, which i think should also be in a blue bottle. It's fresh and aquatic and it stays on my skin at least 6 hours, which is remarkable for a summer scent. Although, sillage is very close to skin. In the drydown i smell some vetiver. there is the drawback, that this artificial soapy touch doesn't fade away and stay until the end. It's not worth a full bottle. Sorry. 7/10

With Costa Azzurra, I get mostly juniper and celery seed, with several supporting notes like cardamom, vetiver, and lemon. Very fresh, classy, summery, but with depth and character. Aromatic citrus chypre along the lines of Z14 and others with oakmoss in the base. I don't see oakmoss in the official notes of Costa Azzurra though. Very unisex IMO. An excellent green fragrance from Tom Ford. The bottle is a gorgeous clear blue.

Beautiful fragrance but by no means is it unique. Undoubtedly “blue” but it has more depth and a little bit more going on in the base notes than your typical designer blue fragrance. I can wear this anywhere for anything and that’s a major plus. Not worthy of the retail price but I snagged this at under $1/ml and I think that it is a GREAT value at that price point.

Marine heaven to my nose. Very complex, full of life, full of zest, but you get a spicy, woody, resinous vibe to support the structure. Again, suit-ready, super classy release for the modern gentleman, Tom Ford just knows what and how of his fragrance DNA. This is 10 times better than Neroli Portofino. One of the best aquatics i ever tried.

Possibly the most “Summery” fragrance I own. Despite rather poor longevity and an eye watering price tag, it’s a decent marine fragrance that one can wear to the beach. I don’t know what it is, but it came to mind while watching The White Lotus. Italian seaside, salty air, relaxing under an umbrella... yeah. 9/10 for me.
