Eau d'Ombré Leather

Typically I am very picky when it comes to Leather in fragrance. A lot of the Leather notes you get in certain formulations tend to leave you smelling like a new car or a dusty old leather jacket. Untamed from Imaginary Authors does this very well. It smells like a hyper realistic leather saddle. For some maybe that is the vibe you are going for. I personally don't find those notes to really work for me however, so I often avoid them. With the Ombre Leather line, I have always found the EDP and the Parfum to be fragrances that smell nice but personally do not work for me. The Leather note in them is always incredibly forward and you don't tend to get much else as the fragrance settles. It's an in your face Leather fragrance that, to me, smells nice but also like a new car. Never been something I can vibe with. When I discovered earlier this year that Tom Ford came out with an EDT of Ombre Leather back in 2024, I was intrigued. Typically with EDTs you can expect a lighter, fresher, easier to wear fragrance given there is less oil concentration. My immediate thought was that if the Leather note in the EDP and Parfum was toned down and softer to wear, I might really enjoy this fragrance. Upon locating a bottle and giving it a whiff, boy was I right. I knew on the spot I needed a bottle. Tom Ford truly improved and perfected the Ombre Leather formula with this one in my opinion. The Leather note that is typically super forward is toned down a bit and feels a lot softer to the note. The addition of a Vanilla note to the base of this fragrance sets it apart from the EDP and Parfum, making it sweeter and helping further soften how harsh the Leather note is. The Vanilla is really only there to add a bit of sweetness, it doesn't make the fragrance feel gourmand at all which is nice. They took a fragrance DNA that has always smelled nice but had a rather bold, harsh approach and they made it far more wearable. Longevity isn't anything crazy here given it is still an EDT but I typically get a solid 5 to 6 hours of good wear from this, 8 to 9 as a skin scent. I layer it over a Vanilla scented lotion and it pulls compliments every time I wear it. You can find it on discounters for a really solid price and I've gone through at least half of my bottle this year. It's such an easy fragrance to reach for. If you find yourself disliking a lot of Leather fragrances due to how harsh they can be but want to add something leathery to your collection, I cannot recommend this one enough.

One of the best buys I ́ve ever done. The OG was not for me because of too much leather. I tried this in store and disregarded it right away since the opening still had too much leather for my taste. But then, a few hours later I was smelling my hand and the scent had changed and was still going really strong. The leather was barely noticeable in the background, the cardamom and vanilla had taken over and I loved the way it smelled. The next day I had to go back and buy a bottle. Since then it has been my most worn scent. The performance is perfect for me. It is never too loud but lasts all day. I always feel comfortable wearing this, knowing I smell really good to the people who come close to me and at the same time I am not forcing anyone further away to smell me. The ingredients smell really natural and high quality. There is none of that chemically enhanced stuff going on, since leather, vanilla and cardamom all naturally have a strong, long lasting scent. It is subtle, sophisticated and seductive. Is it as bold as the OG Ombre Leather? No. Is it the most original scent ever? No. The most masculine? No. Does it work? Most definitely! P.S. I don ́t get all these Babycat and RM5 comments below. Really, who cares. This is great stuff for a decent price. What are you guys doing here? You want to smell good or you want to position yourself just perfectly in the canon of fragrances (that by the way has absolutely no meaning outside this forum here)?

I spent a week with a decant of this fragrance, including a revisit of OL Parfum at the end. I'm an Ombre Leather lover, and this is another offspring of the DNA--nearly a fraternal twin of the parfum version. The EDT version just trades cardamom for vanilla. I think it's madness that some reviewers on here smell no resemblance to the other versions as well as claiming to miss the leather note entirely. That leather is still front and center here, only slighly dialed back from the EDP version (but very similar to the parfum flanker), while sharing the front seat with vanilla. You get that familiar OL gasoline smell at the opening, the leather and vanilla softening after the first hour into a really nice, well-balanced scent that sits around your neck like a halo for the first two hours before settling on skin for another four hours. After that, only a trace of the scent the rest of the way. Owning anything more than one entry in this line would be redundant--they're all that close in smell. The EDP is easily still king in terms of projection and longevity. And, yes, this smells just like YSL Babycat. Best value (price + performance) = Get the EDP If you prefer vanilla and price matters = Get the EDT If you prefer cardamom and price is no object = Get the Parfum

Wow what a fragrance. For reference, I have never smelled babycat so I can't comment on the comparisons, but this just might be my favorite leather scent that isn't leather forward. The leather is definitely there and noticeable, but not as forward as TF ombre leather (which I love as well). As much as I like TF noir extreme parfum, I think I like this better and IMO they would suit similar cases of wear. I would say the star of the show is the vanilla, but it is not a sweet vanilla that cloying, it's a darker, slightly burnt vanilla which together with the leather makes it suitable for a man to wear without thinking it's too feminine. That being said I think this is a unisex fragrance, maybe slight masculine leaning. You can still smell that TF signature in it (that something note that almost all of them have), so this isn't left field or anything, but man is this sexy as heck and would be a great date night scent. The far far dry down reminds me a bit of vertus vanilla oud, which is another thing about this fragrance; the longevity on this is great, I get around 10 hours (6 hours projection, 2 hours mild scent bubble, 2 hours intimate skin scent). Definitely on my buy list, for me this is full bottle worthy.

Pretty good Babycat dupe.. Just kidding, but they are really close. In my own opinion, I prefer this one on my skin more than Babycat. It is very different from the other Ombre Leathers, but they share almost the same opening which I love (the only difference is that this one has a sweeter more soft opening but you can still identify the Ombre DNA). I dont like it as much as the other ombre leathers, but I do have to admit that its surely way easier to wear than the other two and is definetly more mass appealing (I made some people I know smell it and they all prefered this one over the original). I just love that animalic leather from the original Ombre Leather and how dark it is compared to this one... (My love for Ombre Leather is unmatched!) Seriously though when i first smelt it I was thinking to myself: "Dang, did I already smell this fragrance?" and it just randomly clicked to me that it smelt just like Babycat with some key differences. I dont own this fragrance but I did fully test it on skin, the drydown is to die for man its so good! Definetly a 9/10 for me and I would personally buy this over Babycat!

Not comparing it to the other fragrances in the line, as i don't own them (yet), I have to say this is an absolute masterpiece. I have smelled the other frags in the line however. I find myself addicted to smelling this. The only gripe I have is that I don't find that I have too many places to wear this, but that is more subjective to each individual. This is a masterpiece vanilla leather fragrance that I find leans more masculine. The initial spray opens with more ginger and cardamom than you'd find in the drydown, as described in the top notes, which is pleasant and light. The dry down is where it becomes more intimate and warm with the vanilla and leather shining through even more than they do in the opening. Hands down a wonderful fragrance. This fragrance is for individuals who want more of a fresher and more sweet vanilla take, instead of the dark rugged leather smell like the other Ombre Leather frags in the lineup. The other ones are just as good, but for people complaining that this one has too much vanilla and not enough leather, that's what the other frags in the lineup are for.

Signature scent worthy. You will not fill a room but the silage of this is really nice and noticeable. it is so sophisticated but also simple at the same time. opening is a clean leather new car smell with a vanilla bomb in the back. (and the vanilla smells beautiful to me) when it dries down completely balances it down so its 50% leather 50% vanilla. I tried this and Azzaro tmw parfum at the store (which is also way worse than this) and after 7 hours the Azzaro is none existent and this holds up nicely on my skin and can still smell it pretty clearly up close. stopped catching whiffs after like 2.5-3 hours so I'd say that the big projection stops at that for me. but indoors I'm definitely gonna be noticed after 3.5-4 hours for sure. that's my skin at least. the full dry down after 7 hours is mostly vanilla, and its a nice one for sure.

I fell in love with this scent from the very first breath - and how could I not? It takes everything that’s best about the original Ombre Leather and blends it with sweet vanilla and warm spices. The leather here turns gourmand, soft, and enveloping - it melts into the skin beautifully. If I were to make a list of the most seductive fragrances, this one would definitely be on it. Though marketed as masculine, to me it’s a true unisex scent. In fact, it becomes absolutely magical on a woman. This is the fragrance of a graceful panther ready to pounce - don’t be fooled by her sleek, glossy fur; this kitten has claws. It doesn’t change much over time, but it stays rich and confident, with excellent longevity. 10/10 - and I’ll keep coming back for another bottle, again and again.

Trying out a 2ml sample of this today and so far I'm really enjoying it. I was pretty enamored with Ombré Leather (evokes the idea of an attractive, leather-jacket-wearing motorcyclist to me) but the leather in that is a bit too potent and therefore not the most wearable for me. This feels more subdued. It's smooth and pleasant, while still presenting a realistic leather accord. It's not the loudest, which is fine and maybe ideal for this type of scent actually, but still has moderate projection. Still testing longevity but going strong 3 hours in. Shaping up to be a very nice perfume, may even have to consider adding it to the collection. The compliment from my partner on this one before I headed out for work also didn't hurt lol. 9/10

When I put this fragrance on, not only did I notice the fantastic projection, but this scent reminded me of another phenomenal fragrance. Coming here to see the notes, I knew right as I saw the cardamom it reminded me of La Nuit De Lhomme mixed with leather. This is Luxurious, smooth, a nice take on a leather scent. Take Ombre leather and give it an edible undertone: that cardamom and vanilla is lovely. This is what I expect from any Tom Ford release in this category: It's bold, loud but still smooth, and immediately feels like it's worth the price. Longevity is all day for me. And I think this is on its way to being a top-5 Tom Ford fragrance for me. 9.5/10

Probé Ombre Leather en una perfumería, me llevé un secante con su olor, demasiado fuerte para mí. En cambio está Eau Ombre Leather es mucho más de mi gusto. Se nota la calidad, se nota el cuero pero no molesta, se nota la vainilla y ese punto verde de hierba aromática muy tenue pero está hay ordenando el resto de notas como de fondo y esto me encanta. Perfume sexy, elegante, confortable, con fases de aromas, complejo. Para inicios de la perfumeria nicho, primer acceso a una Tom Ford, narices que ya han comenzado a entrenarse en las experiencias olfativas. Prueba siempre antes de comprar no es compra a ciegas para principiantes.

It’s like ombré leather light with vanilla. It’s sweet, not grossly sweet but definitely sweet, there’s like a background leather aroma that floats in and out through the wear. I wouldn’t wear it in summer unless it was a cooler summer night, but it’s definitely more versatile than ombré leather (I do absolutely love ombré leather though) I put it on today and this morning it fit perfectly for the cool morning but as the temperature is rising it can be a little too sweet for anything over mid 70s. If you like ombré leather but wish it had vanilla in it and was more versatile then this one’s for you. 8.5/10

Love this one. Tom Ford scents tend to be too pungent for me, but this one has an overtone of leather that diminishes as it dries down until eventually you're left with this fragrant, warmer vanilla spice scent that lingers close to the skin with a hint of the leather. Absolutely love it. If Le Homme A La Rose is my daytime/southern nights scent, this is my nighttime/cloudy day scent. I use it at work too; it stays close, so not many compliments, but that also means it doesn't shout at people, so it's perfect for the office or other low-key events where you want to present well but not get attention.

This review is strictly about the scent profile. Good for cold weather day or night. Transitions well from casual daytime to formal event to night out in the cold weather months. The vanilla is prominent but not in a gourmand pastry way. To me, the leather holds it back from being totally pastry like. I am picky when it comes to cold weather fragrances because I don’t like the gourmand pastry stuff. If you wanted to own 1 fall and winter fragrance you could literally just own this and you’d be good. Again, versatile strictly for the colder months.

Very warm, very rich and sweet. This stuff is quite strong and dense while also being relatively simple and linear. I'm mostly getting that amazing vanilla with quite a soft cardamom, and the leather is smoother and doesn't poke out the same way it does in the original Ombre Leather. Here it's a "less realistic" leather and it blends more into the other notes. As I said this is a dense fragrance with all that spice and sweetness, so I would personally reserve this one solely for the fall and winter. Incredible quality as expected from TF. 8.5/10

A smooth, sexy, much more wearable version of the OG Ombre Leather, Eau d'Ombre Leather is a stunning release by Tom Ford. I purchased this when it originally came out so it has been resting in my cologne cabinet for several months (during the summer). I forgot what I was missing! The creamy vanilla and masculine leather (more of a suede) come together perfectly with a touch of sweetness to create a lovely fall and winter fragrance. This is an office safe and easy wearing scent that punches above it's EDT level. It does not disappoint! 9.5/10.

On its way to being a Top-5 Tom Ford fragrance of all-time for me. This is Ombre Leather with more-edible accords. take the cardamom from YSL's La Nuit De L'Homme and mix with the OG's leather couch top notes. The dry-down brings out more vanilla to make a leather/gourmand fragrance that lasts all day for me. The sillage may not be strong, but this will linger from day to night, especially on clothing. I'm glad this is a lower concentration because discounters sell this at a fantastic price IMO, especially for a Tom Ford fragrance! 9.2/10

Just fantastic. One of my favorites from TF. I have a few from TF but not this one. Nor do I have others like Black Lacquer, Ebene Fume, and Oud Wood. Oh well. Maybe one day. But this rocks. I have come back to this time and time again. Unsure why I have not pulled the trigger. Probably because I am easily distracted. The first time I encountered this was on tester. Came back the next day and it was still kicking. Wearing it is lovely. Soft leather, vanilla, with a great opening. Need this.

Whew this nice. Its got a lot more notes in it that are not listed here but they're playing a big role in this creation. Reminds me of Armani Code Profumo alot! I wish I still had some to do a side by side comparison. Also reminds me of penhaligon's eau de audacity. I love this stuff and I think it punches way above its price. I really appreciate TF not just following whatevers trending by making unique scents. Like most TF fragrances I wouldn't say its blind buy safe.

I just bought this for my son (29) and I might be stealing it! It's deliciously spicy; not like a Christmas cake - too much cardamom for that... Although I'm not a fan of vanilla. I like this because it's not childishly sweet. I also get some shaving foam, soapy notes that are pleasantly clean - nothing funky here. Overall really enjoyable - long-lasting without beastly projection, balanced and classy while still having youth appeal.

I was genuinely shocked when I've tried it for the first time. I'm not a big fan of an Ombre Leather line, so I wasn't expecting anything special. But then I've encounered it in a store and I absolutely fell in love with it! The vanilla note is blended with the leather so well that this scent becomes a unique one, standing separately from the others from the line. It easily became one of my most favorite fragrances out there.

I wouldn't say Masterpiece (it ain't no TF JP) but easily one of my most wearable and compliment getting fall/winter/spring fragrance. Fits lots of situations while being classy, sexy and mature. I'm doing a layer today with Prada Amber Pour Homme, which in my opinion gives it a bit of a youthful touch. Reminds me of JPG Le Male Essence which boggles my mind that a top 5 JPG all time for me, imho, is discontinued.

hated it off a tester strip, then i tried it on skin and wow, just wow. smells like a more wearable babycat because it doesn't have the suede note and the leather isn't in your face or offensive at all compared to the others in the line. going to be a staple for the colder weather, just wished it was a EDP, but the EDT concentration does make it more suited for occasions where you want to make your presence known.

Based strictly on its performance, EdOL is one of the best bang-for-your-buck products on the market. Its spicy chai vanilla & leather aura might not be to everyone’s taste, but its performance value should never be in doubt. This hobby is hilariously expensive, so sometimes it’s just nice to feel like you got what you paid for. Sure, a mild coffee note wouldn’t have hurt, but you can’t have everything.

I don't usually review fragrances targeted for men because I have no experience of actually wearing them, but this time I have to. I smelled this today, and I am 100 % going to buy this for my man. It is GORGEOUS. The initial spray reminds me of Christmas with the cardamom and other notes, while the dry down gets more vanillic. Such a beauty from start to finish, I was hooked from the first spray!!

@ASM1 woke up on the wrong side of the bed and his wife left him. Honestly to make this short and brief. It is a complete 180 of the ombre leathers. This projects and floats comapred to the heavy ombre leathers. The leather is more suede like and with a gold brown sugary vanilla. This will porject, compared to most tom fords that dont. Projects 3-7 feet for 2-4 hours and fairly good for the price.

Very similar to YSL Babycat. If you stick your nose right up to it, you’ll notice that Babycat is smoother but flatter. Eau d’Ombre Leather is spicier - you definitely pick up on the ginger/cardamom. Out in the air, however, they give off a similar scent. This one is significantly cheaper than Babycat. Both last all day for me. Both are great. I’d maybe give Babycat a 9/10 and Ed’OL a 9.5/10.

I’m addicted to this beauty. It gives me a vision of sitting in a beautiful wood-paneled library with a camel-colored cashmere throw across me, watching a fire slowly burning. This is while savoring a delicious chai latte, in a cognac-colored, leather-wrapped mug, that I’m stirring with a vanilla pod that has been long steeped in rum. Delicious, wearable across seasons, and utterly sublime.

One of my personal favorites for date nights/nights out with friends during Fall and Winter. I love the authentic leather smell from the entire Ombre Leather series. Eau D'Ombre is my current favorite because it adds a very nice hint of Vanilla to accompany the Leather note. I also appreciate that, unlike most Tom Ford colognes, it is available at a more reasonable price.

Great perfumery,it is different from the og and the Parfum but non the less is the most mass appealing in my opinion for sure,vanilla suede type of smell that is just addictive in the air,1st hour or 2 it’s got a pretty good projection then it’s sits close but for long time surprisingly for an edt,at least 12+ hours as a skin scent for sure on me,definitely recommended.

It starts as a soft suede leather dabbed in creamy vanilla and some timid spices, and then much later it develops into a chai latte. I get 10+ hours longevity out of it, but its projection and sillage are gentlemanly. And I, personally, think it can be worn all year round. It's not suffocating in the heat, but somewhat distracting... Why? Because it's so damn sexy!

I love this fragrance!!! the first time i smelled it i fantasised of being in a luxurious loft in new york sitting in my black leather couch and gazing at the view. It kinda smells like money to me 😂 Im actually thinking of purchasing it myself and i m a woman. I dont know.. i m torn. I dont want to smell very masculine but this stuff is addictive

This parfume is perfection in a bottle, so easy to wear yet so good to smell. Whenever i have this parfume on, i feel masculine, elegant and social. The vanilla is clear and the leather isnt taking too much space, such good balance. This is mu favourite parfume right now. Longevity: 7,5/10 Smell: 10/10 Price: 9/10 Overall: 8,8/10

I seriously don't know how people compare this to rm5. I had to give rm away, it was too sweet, and wet and cloying. This is dry and pleasant and it lasts forever on my skin, which is dry - so not a great canvas for longevity. I am not a big TF- fan, but this and JR deserves a spot in any rebellious girls fragnance wardrobe.

For the price it has unmatched quality. (I found full presentation 100ml in a discounter for 110$) I cannot believe they launched this perfume in EDT concentration as a Ombre Leather flanker)) Because it feels as an EDP and its basically Tom Ford interpretation of Babycat and RM5 DNA with added leather)) My score: 9.5/10

not as bold and loud as the original ombré leather but much more wearable especially as someone who’s younger. it’s a beautiful, smooth and leathery vanilla scent with a bit of that ombré leather edp spiciness. at discounter prices, this is an excellent (and pricier) choice for a special occasion fragrance imo!!

This is the scent I’ve been hunting for, it is the exact smell of leftover lingering sweet amber cologne on my leather jacket from the night before. Like more leather than cologne. It’s perfect to me at least because of the association I have with it but it’s still very wearable if you like the smell of leather.

A lot of reviewers criticized its performance and compared to Ombre Leather it's definitely lighter, however, after a recent trip to Sephora and sampling a dozen fragrances, Eau d'Ombre Leather was the best BY FAR. I now own it, along with over 300 other fragrances, but this is the one I reach for the most.

Beautiful warm vanilla with a subtle but still noticeable leather note and a bit of spice on the opening. Smells like a winter trip to the Alps. Great quality ingredients and great 8 hour longevity. A great winter scent and alternative to traditional highly sweet designer scents.

I love this scent so much. I own the other Ombre leather scents but this one is totally different. I love the warm cardamom it's just so addictive. I wish it lasted a bit more but oh well.. Can't have it all. This to me smells like summer cookies. Whatever that means.

Was gifted this from a friend and was initially a bit afraid of the vanilla-forwardness, but found this tobe one of the most appealing vanillas I have ever had. Simple, wearable leather. Might especially recommend it for a female, it has an unexpected tenderness.

I personally really dislike the ombré leather line, all of the other ones are unwearable pure leather, but to me this is fantastic, it’s still a very leather dominant scent but it has lovely vanilla and spices that balance it out and make it more wearable imo

This is a good performing for eau de toilette honestly. It’s a very nice sweet scent I think the woman will want to bite you haha. The leather in the background keeps it from becoming a gourmand type of scent kind of like a new car smell.9/10.

Definitely a YSL Babycat sibling, and even more wearable. It’s a great date night/night out perfume for men or women. It’s not much like Ombré Leather EDP or Parfum, as the leather plays only a supporting role here in the background. 5/5!

Very beautiful scent with leather and vanilla sweetness, the performance is great, and the longevity is also fenomenal for an E.D.T version, on my skin it lasts about 12 hours. I confidently can give this fragrance a solid 10/10.

To me, this is a pleasant mixture of Ombre Leather and Noir Extreme. Not quite sure about its projection and longevity yet, I'm probably going noseblind, but up close it smells pleasant. There's something like a salty note too.

Strong cardamom opening, strong vanilla on drydown with a weak but noticeable leather note. Vanilla scent can remain on clothes for weeks. May appear boozy sometimes. It’s very unique and appealing fragrance. 9/10

I tried this at the store and I think it's definitely better than original Ombre Leather. The vanilla notes add some sweetness to it and that's so much better. It's also cheaper than original Ombre Leather.

A pleasant blend of smooth vanilla and subtle leather. Masculine and office-appropriate, particularly in an AC environment. With 8 sprays on the neck, I was still getting light whiffs after 4 hours.
