Fabulous Parfum

REDISCOVERED AFTER A FEW YEARS F'ing Fabulous seems to be back in fashion. 2025 saw the "Parfum" edition come to light and it seems to be selling like hot cakes. It's sweet and spicy as expected and presents a DNA very similar to its predecessor, although smokier and creamier but less sweet and with and easy to spot lavender note. It sounds interesting doesn't it? My expectations for the original fragrance were not very high when it was first launched. I'm one of those people who thought the name itself was bland and incredibly poorly chosen. It was too blatant and self-aggrandising. It seemed made for a hipster's paradise and it definitely didn't do it for me. Next was the fragrance pyramid, which I didn't really like. I'd seen it all a thousand times before in other perfumes and it didn't really interest me. But I just had to try it more often. I had to give it a lot of chances before I could really appreciate it. Now I love it, and I have high expectations for the perfume version. Let me give you my first experience with a single whiff on the back of my hand: For me, the new Fabulous started with the plastic smell of my granddaughter's toys. It was not bad, but a bit unexpected. Fortunately, it quickly developed into a creamy-sweet gourmand accord. The heart was as sweet as one of those candy canes you get at Luna Park. It became leathery and woody at the base, but then it was rather subdued. Was I still interested? - Of course I was! The first quick hit was just to satisfy my curiosity. "For those days when you feel a little bit fabulous". - is what Tom Ford himself said a few years ago, and it fits the fragrance edition like a glove. Perfectly described! When I first tried it In the quiet of my home, with my usual 3 sprays in the back of my hand, the scent hit me like a wave of sensations, memories and happy hormones. I must have looked like I was having a pretty good experience. It starts rough and spicy. Then it becomes softer with almond and leather, and fresher with lavender. It stays that way for a few minutes. But it's already clear that the latent leather trail, or rather the leather-almond blend, are probably the mildest notes in the fragrance. After the spicy opening, a sour and medicinal sage-tonka blend takes over, with occasional hints of cashmeran underneath. A raw bitterness pervades the fragrance, which is paradoxically both warm and cold. This is an incredibly expressive fragrance, which in my opinion leans towards the masculine side. I don't detect as much sweetness as in the eau de parfum. I can't think of a comparable fragrance. MY OPINION: It is definitely an improvement on the EDP. The experience is akin to browsing the highest-end Prada boutique, where minimalist design is a backdrop for audacious fashion. All the while, the hypnotic, melancholic rhythm of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" plays softly in the background. It is, in a word, fabulous.

Why wasn’t the original fragrance like this? I love this version much more than the EDP. Fucking Fabulous Parfum is what the EDP failed to be. My issue with the EDP is the presence of an unusual, herbal green scent that disrupts the entire composition. Admittedly, it wasn’t a problem when I first sampled Fucking Fabulous, but after a while, I noticed it. Perhaps it’s the Clarysage? In any case, Fucking Fabulous Parfum fixes this issue and more with the EDP. You get the original scent immediately after the first spray and throughout its lifespan. However, Fucking Fabulous Parfum is warmer, slightly sweeter, and has a noticeable animalic feel that I didn’t expect. The leather notes are amplified, and the “Roasted Tonka” note that the brand mentions is prominent. The “aromatic” characteristic of the original fragrance is absent, which I believe enhances this version. Do I think this is “Fucking Fabulous”? No. But it’s closer to that idea than the EDP. Is it worth $608 (640 after tax)? Not really. However, that doesn’t diminish the quality of the fragrance. Nothing about this smells cheap, so I won’t deny that Tom Ford doesn’t invest a significant amount in high-quality ingredients. In conclusion, I prefer this version more than the EDP. I hope I can get it soon.

Love the original edp version, love this one even more! If you like the original you will like this one too! Blindbought it since it was on sale in a retailer here in Germany and I had an extra 15% code. This is definitely the same dna but richer, velvetier, darker, denser, creamier. The original has this blast of sage in the beginning, here it’s slightly toned down and with added sweet pine scent to it. The almond is creamier, still has that Orris powderyness but thicker. It’s also somehow more ambery and sweeter than the original. The leather is amazingly smooth and creamy and wow. This is way way way better than the original. The longevity is pretty good on my skin but I tested them side by side and the original edp projects more. This is expected ofcourse of a perfume concentration to sit closer to the skinn. Still there is something so addicting to this one it’s so polished. It’s like the big successful but still somewhat rebel by soul brother of FF edp. Love it!

People love to hate on this because of the insane price, but I promise you this scent is legitimately elite. The blend is ridiculously smooth with this addictive sweetness up top that just works. The projection is absolutely nuts. I might've oversprayed, but I had multiple sales associates at Neiman Marcus asking what I was wearing from across the room. Is it a masterpiece? Yes. Is it priced like one? Also yes. But if you're considering it, I found it on Selfridges for just over $300, which softens the blow a bit. Judge it for what it is - an exceptional fragrance that just happens to cost a fortune.

At first i thought was same as edp but after wearing a few times and comparing this is fresher and could use nearly all year except high heat. For some reason I get fruity notes from both but this is more fruity, too me anyways. I want to say lighter aswell but has excellent performance and longevity. Not really worth getting if you own edp as you can't really tell the difference unless comparing. Longevity is better than edp but both last well over 8 hours for me but I'm a freak as have really dry skin but get better longevity than anyone I know, I get 6-8 hours from dior edc

01/08/25 Almost the same as OG, but sweeter and stronger. Longivity is improved. My bottle has red metal plate on matte black bottle, looks a lot better than the OG. If your budget allows, I recommend this version, but definitely do not need to get both. 14/02/25 I saw TF started listing this on their website, but the bottle has full name and black metal plate. Mine has censored name with red plate. Its look like they made two versions of bottle for area with name censored and no name censored.

My bottle arrived today February 7th and on first wear it's 99% the same as the original although the price difference between the two 50ml versions isn’t that much so if you're after a 50ml get the Parfum as the bit extra will make it feel more special too wear but I'd try and find a 100ml of original or even over the 50ml Parfum as only £60 difference in UK between the 50ml Parfum and 100ml edp. I'm really glad I got it though and only did as used birthday money towards it

Damn . Yes it is beyond good. It’s what’s the original fragrance should’ve smelled like . No talcum nor powder corners. Just pure juice and one of the best fragrances I’ve smelled. But it’s not 600 usd worth, nothing is, but it’s way better than the eau de parfum. It has one of the most calming lavenders notes. The Drydown is spectacular, zero powder. Extremely classy. Extremely expensive.

Tried this on at Nordstrom and it took me by surprise as I hated the OG. As a long time TF fan, I did not expect this new version, or anything post-Tom, to blow my hair back. The Parfum is dark, mysterious, and not the baby powdery mess that the OG so infamously possesses. I desperately want a full bottle before the weather gets cooler again.

I am a huge fan of this! It’s quite different from the original, not as smoky, more smooth and refined. It leaves you wanting more, the sweet almond scent is addicting! Im unsure of the season for this one, maybe fall , evenings, a date night scent. Truly intoxicating but the price is just insane.

MUCH better than the original EDP! This is what the EDP should have been.. It's a smooth, deep and creamy fragrance that checks all the boxes. Would not pay $600 retail price,maybe if it were 15% less in price, I'd consider it.. But overall a beautiful smelling fragrance!

Available on Tom Ford website in UK for £330, nearly half want Americans are getting charged. Ordered a bottle yesterday so hopefully be here by end of week. I ordered on a Monday

Tried it twice in store - lasts for hours, sprayed on clothes & skin. - very similar to og way more depth as expected - it’s just the price though

Better than the edp by a pretty large margin, the “baby wipes” smell is toned down a ton and the suede leather has been amped up. The roasted tonka bean in the drydown is really nice, adds a warm, smooth, semi-sweetness. Completely overpriced, not worth even close to retail. I’ll be waiting for this to hit discounters at around the $300 mark, and then I’ll grab a bottle

Smells like an elevated, rich version of the original a slightly sweet leathery latex smell. However, $608 for 50 ml? Tom Ford has lost his mind.

Tom Ford's Fucking Fabulous Parfum, where do I even start. This might genuinely be one of the most uniquely aromatic forward fragrances i've ever tried but that's truly its downfall. For the first 30-45 minutes it presents itself almost as that classic powdery lavender bomb that you seen in the Dior Homme Parfum 2024 reformulation which I love. A perfect touch of sweetness to pair with the leather and the aromatics but as it dries down... The sage that the original Fucking Fabulous does phenomenally starts to take shape but this time, very very funky and bitter. This fragrance takes such a hard turn towards skunk city that it almost smells like cannabis. As it starts to wrap up, that classic bitter almond as well as some leather starts to take shape, almost zagging towards baby wipe territory saving this fragrance from the cannabis essence found in hours 2-6. Beyond its absolutely bizarre path to the end, the fragrance is actually decent but really doesn't do enough for me, especially to justify the outrageous $608 price tag. Its longevity is average at best and really doesn't even attempt to make a presence for itself or stand out from the original. It's definitely worth a try but I have a feeling that when the sales figures for Fucking Fabulous Parfum come out, we'll see that many others felt the same as me when it came to its uniquity compared to its superior EDP brother. I have just tried this FF Parfum at TOM FORD store, compared it with the original FF. I have to say, besides the fact that they have replaced a few ingredients it smells exactly the same compare to the old one. The original FF is more sharp, more striking compare to the "more mature" smelling Parfum. When I asked which one people prefer, they prefer the FF Parfum simply because of how mature it smells, more dull, more deep, less loud. Needless to say, the silage and longevity does not worth the price, in Australia it is $800 which is a little stupid for 50ml, if you do buy it, no one will be able to smell you because by the time you meet. someone, after getting ready, putting on perfume, the smell is gone. Unless you are in skin - to - skin contact with someone, they won't smell you. Smell 10/10 Silage 1/10 Longevity 1/10 Price 1/10

I wouldn't bother checking this out unless it has beast longevity and sillage. Tom Ford is a sell out and they just use watered down perfumes, anything you buy lasts 1-3 hours max

I don't know if I just sprayed too much on, but to me it smelled like plastic sex! And not in a good way. That's the best way I can describe it. Couldn't wait to wash it off.

Neiman Marcus just posted a listing for this parfum and it is $608 for a 50 ml. SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. I hope that this is a mistake. Estee Lauder must've snorted something fabulous for this insane cash grab.

I found FF EDP too feminine for a man to wear, but this FF Parfum fixes that issue. This has the powdery baby wipes/suede/tonka/sage/almond thing going on just like the EDP, but this is more base heavy and less airy. Particularly in the first 30 mins- 1 hour I am picking up on the same lavender that was used in the discontinued Lavender Extreme. I am also picking up on a nutty vetiver note akin to Grey Vetiver Parfum and a distant rubbery whiff of the opening of Oud Wood Parfum or Black Lacquer. Finally, there is a fir/pine/general greenness going on throughout the life of the fragrance that is also a new addition compared to the EDP. That latter addition is probably the most notable, as the former ones fade within the first hour. Performance is subtle but persistent. If you want compliments from strangers, the EDP is likely the way to go because it projects more. This Parfum is for serious men who don’t want their scent to shout. Is it worth full retail? Lol. Absolutely not. Wait to find discounts. It’s way better for men than the EDP was, but did I even like FF all that much on men in the first place? Not really. So I would accept this as a gift and happily wear it, but I doubt I will ever buy a bottle

What's happened to Tom Ford.... Let's see.... Just like the iPhone, this brand has become "conspicuous consumption." Meaning, just like an iPhone, people aren't buying it because the phone does amazing things, have the time or most, people don't even utilize the many functions that are specific to an iPhone. They just have to have it because... iPhone. So just like that, Tom Ford. People spend $600. Not because it's the most amazing fragrance, that a true master perfumer spent months on trying to create a masterpiece, they buy it so they can say "I'm wearing Tom Ford, look how important and rich I am." As a perfumer, myself, I can't justify spending that much money on puddle water. Especially when I know what's in it, and what it costs to make it. However, Tom Ford has many outstanding fragrances, that I would and have and still do, spend money on. i.e. Tuscan Leather, Ombré Leather, Tobacco vanille, Oud Minerale, Oud Wood (original formulation) But now, it's a cash grab for the basic, Tiktok nouveau riche.

If you’d take the original, change that harsh sage lavender combo for a deeper floral lavender almost like essential oil... you’d change that leathery vanillic base with a extra touch of darkness ( amber ) there you go. It smells softer and way more smoother than the edp. It’s like your nose feels more comfortable with smelling it and at the same time you get the depth. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a different scent compared to the OG. It just doesn’t scream loud like the edp.. with that said the longevity is good 7 hours easy on my skin, projection is strange some days was strong some it was skin scent in 2 hours. Price as usual don’t buy retail ... 8/10

If you don’t like FF, then you won’t like FFP. To my nose, these two are very, very close. The scent DNA has this gimpsuit-like latex thing going on that I can’t deal with, so this is an easy pass. They had the chance to make this the best looking TF Private Blend bottle ever though, but dropped that ball too (in my opinion) by making the metal plaque dark red instead of all-black. Oh well - I’ll spend that money on another backup bottle of Plum Japonais instead then 😅

This is very similar to the original except for a few things. A brief pine sensation in the open, that makes it briefly fresher, and a toasted vibe in the base. If I'm splitting hairs maybe a touch less vanilla. Everything else pretty much the same. If you like the original, you'll like this. Performance is good but my OG original bottle is beastly. ------------------------------------------------------ Redundant release imo. Scent 85/100

Stunning. Wayyyyyyy better than the original. This scent profile is very lovely. However, the original is fatiguing to me. I’m not sure why. It’s hit you with a lot of things. This version is deeper. The lavender is blended perfectly with the resinous leather accord. The sweetness from the almond is turned down just enough to add depth but not annoyance. Wonderfully done and a vast improvement.

I would rather break both my legs and eat both my ears before I smell f*cking fabulous ever again. If licorice monster was a real thing, this fragrance would what his butthole smell like. An absolute crime of a perfume, and trust me I gave it endless chances, tried it at different times, weather, moods, even countries. But wow. It insists on being an absolute abomination.

It's smoother than the original. I never like the original due to some screechyness in the opening. Headache inducing, really. And mega super peppery. This one removes some of that sharp / harshness and smooths it out. Performance is strong and projection is strong. This is a much better version of this DNA in my opinion. More amber / leather forward.

why are people hating so much? they havent tried it and yet they’re reviewbombing here. because its a parfum version it doesnt mean the formula and the notes are same. the notes and formula often changes when its the parfum version and we saw that on oud wood parfum. it doesnt just mean its a stronger version .

Guys, stop talking about the price. Don't you get it? The brand doesn't care AT ALL if you cannot afford it. Believe it or not, there are people who can drop the money on this in the same way you might buy a carton of milk. If you're mentioning the price, then YOU are the problem.

Super curious to see how they intensify this. It already lasts forever on my skin. Hoping they dial up the leather a bit and soften the aromatics. Alsoooo, super curious to see how they price this. Surely it will be higher than the other Private Blend parfums.

It’s funny that people will complain about the price for this one as if the rest of the brand isn’t just as comically overpriced. If y’all cared about quality and not wasting money you wouldn’t be in the market for Tom ford anyway.

Curious if this will be a different fragrance or the same fragrance but made stronger, like Oud Wood Parfum. If it's the latter, it's not really necessary because FF is already a very strong performer.

This is another Estée Lauder ploy for a quick cash grab. Fucking Fabulous EDP already has huge sillage and project and it lasts forever. Why would you need parfum concentration? It makes no sense.

I am fully expecting a barrage of negative reviews from people who haven't even smelled the original let alone this, we've grown accustomed to this now at fragrantica, smh...!!!

It’s warmer, creamier and smoother. I’d say better for cooler months. The original for warmer months. Both good.
