Fleur de Portofino Acqua

Really pretty, especially in humid hot weather. In the middle of July it is perfect here (NYC). I would wear it with a blue linen dress and just spray 6-7 sprays and I am good to go. It is not a highly projecting perfume, no one will suffocate around you, but it does last! Even through sweat :). Today it is a humid March day, and it rained all day. I had it on my cotton sweater and on my hair and I still smell it 8 hours later. It is very pleasant, watery and floral. It opens up a bit citrus-y and sweet. Orange blossom and jasmine shine. It is very uplifting to my nose. Nice care-free kind of a scent. It leans feminine to my nose, but I suppose a guy can pull it off in summer months or add more citrus to cut through the flowers, if that is too much. I got a big bottle for a good price at the company outlet. So this was a great buy for me as I do not have anything like this in my collection. I definitely recommend it.

I love this perfume so much. I live in Texas so this would be great for most of the year, but this really reminds me of trips to Galveston. When it would rain in the middle of the day for an hour in summer, the smell of the beach and flowers, it’s not tropical in a fruity way but a beach way. It’s very sophisticated and light so you won’t have to worry about it being too much for others around you. It is very feminine and delicate, I think of a mermaid every time I smell this perfume. She’s laying on the beach just tucked away out of sight. There’s a light drizzle and the summer heat warms her. It’s just lovely. Ariel is who I think of when I smell this. Specifically when she has that flower in her hair and is dancing and when she sings part of your world and is on the rocks. It’s delicate, fun, and pretty just like her.

Hey Guys! So recently I was interested in purchasing a bottle of this stuff and I will say one thing. The smell is incredible, very sweet and aromatic. The issue with it is it doesn't last very long and the sillage is horrible. If its something you will wear in a closed area maybe its alright. Smell: 8.5/10 Longevity: 4/10 Quality for Price: 7/10 Overall score: 5.8/10

This is big white floppy flowers but there's something sharp and tangy about it. The very end of the dry down is the best part where it's the softest. I used to wear this more often but now I'm just not loving it. Update: I gave this away. I now own the original Fleur De Portofino, I think I like it better. It's not as loud and screechy bubble gum-like.

Fleur de Portofino Acqua is absolutely delightful in the high heat. Its like being surrounded by beautiful blossoms of magnolia, acacia and orange flowers and various citruses with the slight sweetness from honey. Its never overpowering but has its unique presence throughout the wear. Very uplifting and happy scent. Highly recommended for summer days

This is how paradise smells like. Whenever I spray this frangrance, I’m sent to a dreamy botanical garden overlooking the turquoise water along the Portofino coast; the sky is blue and the sun is bright, I’m surrounded by blooming white floras, citrus groves and vines hanging from pergola above, cool Mediterranean sea breeze gently caressing my face... it’s mesmerising. This scent makes me feel so vibrant, refreshed and relaxed. I’m in love with it. It even smells more delicious under the heat. I always wanted to get one of those gorgeous blue-bottled TF Portofino perfumes for summer. I couldn’t decide between the original FdP and FdP Acqua, and I’m glad I’ve decided to buy the latter. Setting the price tags aside, I still prefer the acqua version because it’s much more sparkling, refreshing, crisp and subtle at the same time. Imo the acqua version interprets the vibrant and carefree spirit of FdP described by TF even better. (I think the original version smells a bit sticky and aggressive.) Longevity is not a big problem for me, lasts at least 5 hours on me (with around 8 sprays), wish it stay longer though (...maybe I can smell it more without my face mask *sigh*). But since it’s edt, couldn’t ask for too much. Silage is somewhere between moderate and moderate to strong. Good value for the 100ml size.

Tom Ford's Acqua versions of their fragrances, to my mind, are almost always better than the originals they flank. Fleur de Portofino Acqua is no exception. While the original FdP was a pleasant jasmine bouquet, sprinkled with oranges and lemons and sitting on a bed of honey, it was too close, too fake, too sweet to truly execute its mandate of evoking Portofino flowers. In this Acqua flanker, the citruses have been amped up and tweaked to lend more to the bergamot and orange zest type accords - less juicy sugary than the fleshy accords in the original FdP, but still piquant and definitely leaning towards bitter, oily zest. The honey base is still there but toned down significantly to be more floral than sugary. All of these are great steps in the right direction for FdP. It is still simple and straightforward, but now it's simple and straightforward like the Portofino sun bouncing off a jasmine garden and lemon trees - which is the kind of simple and straightforward you want.

FdP Acqua is one of those scents that is, moreso than others, largely influenced by season and weather. Wearing it on a rainy afternoon in October, for example, amps up the acquatic character in it -- think of flowers in a garden gently drizzled with rain. I imagine the experience would be different if worn in the heat of summer. The assault of florals is immediate at first spray, unapologetic, unbending; with the citrus notes blending and supporting quietly in the background. Honey, which does nothing to prolong or anchor the fragrance on the skin, only acts to temper the sharpness of white flowers. Beautifully blended, FdP Acqua is capable of transporting the senses somewhere else -- albeit very short-lived. Unfortunately, the scent lasts an hour or two on the skin before it fades. Quite a steep price to pay for a moment's worth of dream-like experience. Scent: 9/10 Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 3/10

Large tropical blossoms made lightly salty by the spray of the sea. That's the overall impression I get from this fragrance; sweetly floral coupled with the dry lightly salty feel of the ocean. Works best in high heat, there's no other season best-suited to wear this. Longevity is very much like an EDC, 2-3 hrs tops. Sillage is a little less than arms-length, this is for the wearer to enjoy moreso than anyone else. Overpriced for the performance, but it is a Tom Ford. If the notes/composition appeal to you, then I think it's definitely worth a try.

This is a pretty refreshing white floral, with a little sea breeze. Reminds me a lot of Chanel’s Paris Riviera. Beautiful Jasmine and some slight sweetness from tangerine, I also can smell some tropical Floral note, may be a little Ylang. Overall I would say it’s falls 85% feminine. I think I prefer the Aqua to the Fleur de Portofino. Aqua is slightly sweeter and little less sharp.

Really enjoyable fragrance. Got it through a swap and even though it leans on the feminine side I believe a man can pull it off, like I did. The performance is disappointing unfortunately, but the smell is amazing. Overall I really like it, solid 8/10

On paper the notes sounded amazing, all the things I love in one, im glad I only purchased a sample because it smells like my grandmother's bathroom airfreshener. Theres no trace of honey, after 30 minutes lily of the valley takes over and after an hour the perfume just disapears, It's not an offensivee fragrance, it just smells like like glade auto spray unfortunatelly.

Tom Ford Fleur de Portofino Acqua is a light powdery floral scent with weak projection and poor sillage. It wears close to the skin and is a pleasant scent, but quite boring. There are better TF fragrances. This one is a pass for me.

Sorry, I found this very indolic to my nose. It sounded great in theory, but I tested and it was an immediate "nope!"

IDEA: What if we all start stating where we live. For instance, someone who lives in a humid climate will have a different smell reaction to a perfume with someone from a dry climate. I know this because I lived in both. What smelled fantastic in one place was a disaster in the other... (Humid to dry). I believe this makes a huge difference to the outcome of the perfume, and might help us somewhat. Thoughts on this idea? Does it matter? Will it help? :) Happy sniffing! (I live in the dry high desert of New Mexico) Have not smelled this just yet....hopefully tomorrow at Sephora!

Fleur de Portofino Acqua is a watery floral-- think big, tropical flowers, or in this case, flowers from the Italian Riviera. I get very little sweetness. It brings to mind a breezy patch of floppy flowers or colorful citrus trees near the beach, without being overly "beachy." It wears close to the skin, which I don't mind, as my primary destination is typically the office. It starts out just a tick more masculine, before turning into a firmly unisex fragrance. I'm excited to try it out more as the weather warms. This one makes me crave summertime.

Very nice citrus scent with intense white floral notes. It feels a bit dry. Very refreshing, elegant, clean and seems truly unisex. Amazing bottle. Sadly the performance is not that good on my skin. I can't detect it after 2 hours and the sillage was very low after initial application. The real deal from a reputable store. Buy it if you have tons of money to burn so you can reapply it often :) Scent wise it is very pretty but I don't think it is worth the $$$$$ given the poor performance.
