Grey Vetiver Parfum

(Comparison of the EdP and the Parfum) The masculine vetiver-forward perfume is a cornerstone of modern perfumery. Every major house has one, and many if not the majority of small and niche houses as well. Why? Well probably for the same reason it’s a staple in many cultures for aromatic household uses and religious uses: it’s a chameleon of an aroma, and it just plain smells great - likely working-on some primal parts of our olfactory system that ensures we are guaranteed to respond to it and, almost without fail, in a positive way. Tom Ford confused us with Black Orchid, then released For Men and the Private Blend line, which helped clear-up a lot of questions regarding the brand’s creative direction for its perfumes, and then to seal the directive and remove all doubt released Grey Vetiver. I make this statement like I am paraphrasing the brand or speaking for them, but I am not; this is solely my interpretation. The brand - clearly to me, anyway - wants to give us the old guard of modern perfumery in a new way with a bit of modern synthetic edge and Tom Ford opulence and trashiness. However, the latter descriptors are curiously absent from Grey Vetiver. Grey Vetiver is a straight and modern homage to that masculine cornerstone. The EdP opens with lemons, grapefruit, and neroli. Shockingly cold, bitter, sour, juicy, acrid, and metallic, these notes are helped along by a prominent cold, earthy, pale green sage note. The vetiver immediately begins pushing up from the heart and base, but it doesn’t present as green aromatic, swampy, or even woody, but rather coming across as... well... silvery - not gray - thanks to the supporting notes that actually act more as the stars of the perfume than the vetiver does. Like Encre Noir wanting to present vetiver in a very new direction as black, Grey Vetiver wants to be gray, though these bright metallic edges bring more of a silvery sheen. In the Parfum the opening is quite different. It has a more convincing orange blossom opening, not neroli, that smells almost boozy like a much brighter version of Grand Marnier. Sharp aldehydes give an almost alcohol-heat texture. The hay-like, deadpan floral, and woody saffron is responsible for a lot of this effect, presenting an almost fresh-oak-barrel aging facet to the orange blossom. Once the opening calms down the orange blossom is allowed to go in a slightly sweeter, juicier, and more floral direction, which only makes the orange liqueur association even stronger in my mind. There is something about it that is a bit “colorless”; gray. This is more gray than the EdP, the latter coming across as bright silver. The Parfum’s photonic energy is a lot more restrained than the EdP. Going into the heart and base layers, with the EdP a starchy and powdery orris carries the brief in the heart layer. It is dry yet very clean, almost like a powdered soap without being all that floral in nature. The vetiver makes more of a green-aromatic appearance at the base, never losing that silvery sheen, with a good dose of evernyl for damp, lively, and woody moss. In typical TF style the Parfum is much more minimalist. When TF approach their parfum concentrations, without fail, they approach with “less is more” - and they follow the same modus operandi here. It is more simplistic than the EdP, but it doesn’t suffer for it, letting very wise choices for materials and accords presentations do the work rather than trying aim for “great” via more complexity. The saffron steers this vetiver in a much more light-woody direction than the EdP, and it keeps getting woodier the closer it gets to a skin scent. The EdP has an energetic brightness, like the glint of light off of polished silver, and it is almost jarring but in a pleasant way. Clean, cool, bright, easily wearable yet opulent in its saturation, and a splendidly modern take on the classic vetiver perfume. The Parfum is far more regal and elegant than the EdP, and much more closely aligns with the classic presentations of vetiver with its woody dry down and skin scent. However, it still achieves the brief and still smells convincingly modern; it smells “gray”. I don’t pull any swampy green aromatics common to vetiver, and though I pull woods it is not green woody or even white or black woody (throwing back another reference to Encre Noir). Somehow in the Parfum’s deadpan colorlessness it still smells elegant and classy. Perhaps then the Parfum is like a gray suit: it might be safe and plain, it will never offend anyone and is wearable everywhere, but it still looks custom made by a world-class tailor. In another interesting twist, I find both of these to be sufficiently different enough that owning a bottle of each would not be redundant if both call to you. The EdP’s bright and boisterous nature works in all settings, but it will probably work best in the daytime and informal settings when you feel like you have some pep in your step. The Parfum is going to be more suitable for cooler weather wearing, and/or formal occasions or date nights when restraint is better called for. Both are great, with one bright and energetic silver, and the other rich and elegant gray. Every silver lining has a touch of gray.... I don’t know where I’m going with that, but for some reason I can’t shake it from my head.

Grey Vetiver Parfum – Zegna Haitian Vetiver in disguise? Simply put, to my nose, Grey Vetiver Parfum (2023) feels remarkably close to Zegna’s Haitian Vetiver (2014) , almost as if this particular vetiver interpretation had been reborn under the Tom Ford label. Of course, this is purely my speculation from an olfactory perspective. After Zegna’s fragrance licensing arrangement with Estée Lauder came to an end in 2021, I always felt that some of its compositions deserved a second life. Grey Vetiver Parfum gives me a strong sense of continuity with Haitian Vetiver. This resemblance is particularly intriguing, considering that both Zegna’s fragrance line and Tom Ford’s beauty business have historically been connected to Estée Lauder through licensing arrangements. Putting speculation aside, the fragrance itself is a very interesting study in vetiver. On skin, Grey Vetiver Parfum is primarily about vetiver and carrot seed. The carrot seed brings a subtle earthy sweetness and a soft root-like character. During the drydown, I even get a faint impression of mung bean cake (绿豆糕 or Bánh Đậu Xanh), mixed with a slight rubbery facet reminiscent of sun-warmed rubber trees. The combination creates a rather unusual image: sitting beneath a rubber tree on a hot tropical day, enjoying a piece of mung bean cake. It is an unexpected association, but once noticed, it is difficult to ignore. Interestingly, when sprayed on fabric rather than skin, another layer becomes much more apparent: a brighter bergamot and neroli citrus accord that remains hidden underneath the denser vetiver structure. On skin, the earthy and rooty facets dominate; on fabric, the fragrance reveals a fresher and more luminous side. Compared with the original Grey Vetiver , this Parfum feels less sharp and more rounded, with a richer texture. The vetiver is not presented as a dry, austere green note, but rather as a smoother composition built around roots, woods, and subtle sweetness. Whether it is a direct continuation of an earlier idea or simply a very similar interpretation, Grey Vetiver Parfum remains a beautifully executed vetiver composition. For those familiar with Zegna’s Haitian Vetiver , the resemblance is certainly worth exploring. Again, my recommendation for both is the same: spray them on clothes . They simply work better there than on skin. Rating: 7.5–8/10

I have to agree with the reviews below. I’ve had this now for a week or so and whilst it’s definitely classy & signature-worthy, if you already own the EDP then this purchase may well be slightly redundant unless you’re a Tom Ford collector. The EDP does, on me at least, outperform the Parfum but there is something about the density of this that gives it an edge in terms of sophistication. It also lacks the brightness & fresh citrus aspect of the EDT but ultimately, the two are opposite ends of the same road. I do also find it relatively linear and quite ’flat’ with very little lift but in a way, that’s kind of what makes it quite sophisticated: you know what you’re going to get and you know you’re going to smell great. If there’s one thing I could change though, I would have loved to have had a lovely ginger ‘pop’ in the top notes. I don’t really pick up the saffron if I’m perfectly honest, although it thankfully doesn’t display any of those medicinal nuances that it can bring as a note, particularly when paired with dense wood accords. Despite owning the other two iterations of Grey Vetiver already, I’m very happy to have picked this up & have to admit that although I usually wear a different fragrance everyday, I’ve worn this 3 times in the past 7 days, so it’s quite clearly working for me. All that being said though, I can’t help looking at all these TF Parfum releases of existing Signature line frags & seeing not much more than a money-grab by Estée Lauder. With the price hikes taking both the Signature line & Private Blends to ridiculous levels, they’re going to have to come up with something new soon or the bubble is going to burst. I thoroughly recommend it for testing though, particularly if you don’t already own the EDP & you’re looking for a frag that will do it all: day, night, work, play..... definitely worth consideration.

Another perfume edition is out here.. well I guess it’s the new marketing of: stronger character, less performing editions of the existing edp or edt. I think it’s the regulations who kills the perfumes, and so they head a new market to make it interesting.. because that’s what this scent is. A bit darker, non citrusy but also a bit citrusy kind a opening, then the warm vetiver pops out.. and it directly reminds me of my roja vetiver parfum cologne, except the bright citruses. The vetiver here is done well, it’s a very quality blend for sure, and the saffron makes it a bit spicey metallic, but very very in the background. The vetiver here is the top player where in the edt and edp became in the far drydown. So we can basically say that the perfume version goes straight to that drydown, and ads some bit of warmth metallic touches. Is it worth it? If you don’t have the others and you are mostly interested in Vetiver buy this one.. if you like your vetiver more fresh or summery go for the edt or edp. For me it’s to redundant with the roja, and that one is also bit overpriced so glad to have it for a nice deal. Anyway.. performance is not so great, but that doesn’t say anything, I tried it only once in the store. It needs more attempts to wear, and bottles need to mature for few months. So don’t put your faith to much on the power.. just go for the scent kf vetiver is your thing. Although check on discounters it’s not worth a 200€ for an 100ML. Even Roja parfum cologne could found cheaper.

I really enjoy this. All versions of this by TF seem to be great (I've smelt GV and GVP). I prefer the stronger ones, at least at home. Grey colour perfectly turned into a scent. I see very clearly and understand how GV can be repulsive and disliked by many (for whatever it reminds them) because it just is so special and distinguished -- just like most vetiver-prominent scents are. For me the image in my head for this scent is a nice and modest grey suite (with a nice and modest man in it) and I suspect this was the intention behind it. Guerlain's Vetivers are greener and livelier than this. Comparisons. Just Jack's Vetiver is very similar indeed but it disappears quickly, although this can be a bonus for some or for some purposes. Both Perfume Parlour analogues smell very similar and good too but I feel those tend to age quickly, that is, change over months and years, and they do have BB dates on bottles. I assume and hope this is not the case with this original masterpiece. Who wants something more intense and less office-friendly then I can suggest The Merchant of Venice's Vetiver Haiti and almost equivalent but lighter Vétiver Bourbon by Parfum D'Empire. The Sultan Vetiver by Nishane goes too far. Edit: Who likes this and wants something similar by the general tone but also different (so it is worth having it in addition to GVP), I highly suggest September by Björk & Berries for which I would add a secondary title "Grey Hay" or "Grey Day".

I sampled this twice at a local department store over the past week or so. I’ve had Grey Vetiver EDP on my radar for quite some time to pick up if I found it for a good price, but the Parfum had me searching out a full bottle immediately. In the parfum I thought I’d miss the bright, effervescent grapefruit opening the EDP gives, but I really don’t, and this still ends up being a very versatile fragrance for me. I really like the metallic leather note that makes this a little darker and more opulent. I find longevity to be good - I put on three sprays at 10am and at 10pm I can still smell it though it is more of a skin scent. I’ve seen comparisons to Bois Imperial (and made them myself as I think both can serve the same function), but I’d rather wear this over the Essential Parfums fragrance, even taking into account the significant price difference. About that price - At retail I can’t say I believe this (or any Tom Ford fragrance for that matter) is worth it, but I was able to find this at a discounter despite it being a fairly new fragrance so I snapped it up. The bottle looks great- I just wish the cap was heavier and didn’t feel so cheap (which it shouldn’t if you want to charge $235 for 100ml). The atomizer is a bit lackluster for the price as well. By no means is this scent profile or vibe unique, but it is well done and I really like it.

If you like vetiver, get your nose on it. It's a refined luxurious take on a fresh, vibrant and punchy vetiver scent, and even though I could see some women liking it on themselves, in my opinion it oozes masculinity. Definitely not for the younger crowd, but by no means exclusively for old timers. I'm in my early 30's and I would rock the S out of this. Definitely grabbing a bottle when the opportunity aligns. A home run vetiver fragrance. (It's almost literally been 8 hours and the two sprays on my wrist are a super faint skin scent only detectable if the nose is right up against the skin, but the first few hours had solid projection, probably like 5h of projection give or take.) -Update. So here's the thing. After a few applications and some trusted opinions, as well as direct comparison to the original EDP, I realized that this one has an off putting smell of almost like B.O. smelling type of smell in the dry down (about 3-4h in)... but the EDP does not have that. Definitely was just blinded by the incredible opening but going to pass on this bottle and get the EDP instead. Make sure to properly wear your fragrances and see how the entire fragrance life sits with your skin chemistry!!! And get some honest unbiased reviews if you can! Dodged a bullet with this one.

To use a car analogy, Grey Vetiver is like the Lexus of the fragrance world for me. It's not flashy like an Italian car, and it's not over engineered like a German car. It's reliable like a Japanese car. It's practical, functional, well made, and won't leave you stranded on the side of the road. You can literally use this in any weather or situation, and it will be reliably good at whatever you need. Grey Vetiver Parfum is like giving the EDP a healthy V8 engine. It's similar, but performance is better, it's deeper, and has a cool metallic vibe just like the bottle aesthetic. It still stays true to that pastel vetiver that is the heart and soul of this fragrance. Great release and reasonably priced when you compare it to the private blend line, and even better when it hits the gray market and the secondary market like ebay. A well made swiss army knife fragrance. Could easily be a signature scent for someone that doesn't want to spend big money on lots of other fragrances. Scent 8/10 Performance: TBD

Incredibly dark interpretation of a vetiver fragrance. The opening has that brief hint of a bright citrus/floral note but it is quickly swallowed up by the shimmering saffron and black leather notes. Vetiver provides a spicy and earthy base. Definitely smells very austere and masculine. The combination of the vetiver and saffron can smell medicinal. Smelling it directly off the atomizer almost smells like a stack of freshly printed magazines. Under no circumstance should you be blind buying this. Performance is a bit weird, it's incredibly long lasting but stays very close to my skin with hardly any trail. I have gotten compliments on this, though. I think the bottle design fits this fragrance. The saffron note really gives Grey Vetiver Parfum a shimmering, almost metallic facet. Grey Vetiver Parfum is a simple fragrance that is executed to perfection. Despite its simplicity, I've never smelled anything like it.

I came across a big box store selling GVP 100ml bottles with a 20% discount and free shipping so I had to buy a bottle. 😝 GVP is an excellent release due to the house keeping the changes simple and logical for the line.👍 Here's what GVP smells like. Just imagine GVEDP infused with mild soil and/or leathery notes with a smidge of smooth spice notes. 💯 GVP is best suited for spring, summer, and warm fall seasons. Can be worn day or night and for business or casual situations. I suspect GVP will be more appealing to guys 30+ who enjoy simple, masculine and high quality fragrances. Keep in mind that performance does leave a bit to be desired though and is consistent with it's predecessors. Although you can increase it's performance a bit by adding some sprays to your clothes. You can easily yield up to 8 hours if you spray your clothes albeit the fragrances will sit close to your skin and be light. Overall: 10/10

It’s FINALLY arrived in Australia and I couldn’t be more impressed. It’s been worth the wait. Initial impressions were that the bright citrusy top note has gone or way dialled down. The first spray is very heavy with a metallic inky ness I associate with Encre Noir which lasts for maybe the first 10-15 minutes. After that period the crisp clean Vetiver shines. Comparisons with the OG are fair but I feel in the Parfum concentration it’s way stronger and more centre stage. Can’t pick up the saffron note and the orange blossom blends subtlety into what is essentially a big Vetiver fragrance.Longevity is quite good compared to the EDP and it leaves a pleasant trail. The drydown is similar to the EDP but the Vetiver is cleaner and more focused. Worth the wait

Just tried this in store today. This smells amazing, but I don't see why I'd ever pick this up when I can get PW-Amouroud Lunar Vetiver for less than half. Lunar Vetiver blows TFGVP away in performance and the scent is more complex yet still an easy wear. I once loved Tom Ford fragrance but now the juice doesn't last and their recent prices are just LAUGHABLE. If this was $60 for 50ml and $100 for 100ml I'd pick it up in a heart beat. If the only thing you knew was the perfume counter at Macy's this would be mind blowing but when you know what vetivers are out there and their prices on discounters this is a joke. I can’t fault the scent but the performance and price are another story.

Oh Boy ! That's good. Brings back to mind Grey Vitever Edp 2009 version when it was just released. The Edp and Parfum are too similar in fact shares 90% of the DNA but with more woods in Parfum version slightly less citruses and a light touch of metallic, spicy , leathery note from Saffron in the 1st 30 min It last long and projects mildly, great formal office scent. In case you don't know Grey Vitever EDP Then here is the discreption of the scent: This is one of the greatest Vetiver scents and a must have for Vetiver lovers. It basically takes natural Vetiver and wraps it with frosted cool spicey/citruses and smoothen it with a dose of orris and musk. So classy !

I just love this,mature, luxurious, high-quality scent. I've had Roja Vetiver Parfum Cologne which I also loved but needed the money and sold it. I'm happy I kept Grey Vetiver Parfum. It's longlasting but becomes more of a skin scent after 4-6 hours. It tends to last a lot more on clothes. Good in sping, summer, autumn, even in the winter if it's not freezing and there's some sun. Really an all weather scent. I'm wearing it and it's the 24th of novembre and 1° Celsius. For me it's one of the best vetivers, I don's like Guerlain's and Hermes's, the perfect vetivers for me are: GV Parfum, Roja Vetiver Parfum Cologne and Frederic Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire.

Grey Vetiver EDP has been my go-to for over 7 years. It tugs at my heart-strings because it checks just about every box for a "summer gentlemen fragrance". I've been wearing the Parfum here and there for just about a year. The Parfum is slightly "darker" in the opening but in all honesty, it dries down to the same place as the EDP with perhaps not as much sweet citrus in the dry down. I do think it's redundant to own both but I will get just as much wear out of the Parfum as the EDP....especially because the Parfum lasts an eternity on my skin/clothes! Cheers!

This is so so soooo good. I’m not kidding when I say I would be okay having this be the only scent I own for the rest of my life. It is incredible. Excellent, just excellent. It does it all. Lasts long, great projection, massive versatility, and luxurious ingredients. You can tell this is high quality. You can smell the raw ingredients. It smells clean, but earthy, classy but also casual. It smells like confidence. It smells like damp grass but with a mild sweetness and cleanliness. Not a soapy or powdery fragrance. 10 out of f****** 10 I don’t care lol.

Very nice scent. Vetiver in the front. Clean, green, sharp but not overpowering. Base has some smooth, almost creamy leather. It feels like a business scent that lasts and works well at happy hour. Linear and maybe not groundbreaking, but it is beautifully masculine, clean and smooth. Last from 7-7 on me and projects well. There is more of a smokey smell in the cold weather which is not my favorite. The only issue is the price. Overpriced as it is, ill still pay that price.

This is really, and I mean really similar to the original Grey Vetiver. Just a slight more focus on the vetiver note. The sillage is worse compared to the EDP but the longevity is better than the EDP. There is nothing I could really say about this because this is really similar to the EDP. This is redundant if you already own the EDP. I believe I did not say "EDP" enough times, was it clear I was comparing this with the EDP version? 9/10

I don’t know what’s the matter with this scent, but i have an addiction for it . For me , this is a Masterpiece !!! Yes, it’s dry , metallic vetiver , with a mineral note , but this smell it’s so-so seductive , my brain is inlove with this scent . The good news is that this is a very powerful scent , projects well and it lasts around 9 hours , maybe 10 sometimes . But it’s not cheap at all , so ... you should test it before.

Interesting how this is compared to the highly regarded Ganymede. I've tried Ganymede but this is much more wearable and less minerally to my nose. Ganymede is great and I appreciate the complexity and artistry in it's creation, but Grey Vetiver Parfum is a modern classic for the discerning and mature gentleman. The votes don't lie though and this is an anytime, anyday fragrance that will always be in my collection.

Very simple said, deeper grey vetiver. I wouldn’t say darker.. but more rounded and some depth added with the saffron accord. It gives it a cold blast which makes it a bit more calm and formal then the OG or EDP. But imo the best of the line.. but I do like my vetivers with less citrus accords. 8/10 because the performance and price ( not bad but I would say there are better vetivers quality wise and price wise).

This and Eau De Parfum are my go-to signature scents. I refer to this as what Chanel Platinum Egoiste used to be for me in the early 1990's. The original Chanel Platinum Egoiste formula, that is. It wakes you up, it motivates you, and it makes you feel even more confident. I think this is Tom Ford's greatest fragrance creation. You cannot go wrong with the Parfum or the Eau De Parfum.

A dark and earthy, rooty and almost mysterious vetiver backed by a dark leathery base. If you like vetiver at all, give this a test. It's incredibly expensive at retail but it may be to your tastes if you're looking for a pure vetiver experience. Longevity is excellent because this lasts easily 10+ hours however the sillage is rather low. It sits somewhat close to my skin.

This is a deeper, denser and more potent version of the original. It has better longevity and projection as well. It has has a slightly darker and a bit more minimal character compared to the EdP and wouldn't look out of place during the night either. Still it has the same formality and elegance of the original though. I love them both equaly.

Incredible. It was a blind buy and let me tell you this will be the OG scent for 2023 summer. Clean, simple, sophisticated, & addictive. Soapy, fresh and very little sweetness. This is like going to a steakhouse and getting one of the best cuts with no sides or anything with low value.. only great meat. The scent is just good no frills.

A surprise. Neither the EdT or EdP impressed me. Great scents but performance lacking. The Parfum is the bomb. Same clean Vetiver scent. Great projection x 5-6 hours and at least a skin scent all day. Most costly of the three but will be good to find a version of GV to add to Vetiver collection. Watching JomaShop for a price drop!!!

This is very similar to the EDP, but with more emphasis on the vetiver and less of the citrus fresh notes. It is exactly how a parfum should be, buuuut i still prefer the EDP by quite a stretch. On my skin it lasts 12 hours, but sits close to the skin. On clothes it can be smelled for a couple of days. A very good release.

This is a piece of art with amazing performance on my skin. It smells a lot like prior to 2018 batches of the original with more projection in addition to leather and saffron which is addicting! If you like the old original you will love this one. It is magical for vetiver scent enthusiasts!

Je n’ai jamais aimé l’eau de toilette et l’eau de parfum mais celui ci c’est juste un chef d’œuvre Vetiver cuiré moderne pour toute saison, mélange et huiles de haute qualité ,dure toute une journée sans problème si vous êtes amoureux du vetiver un achat à l’aveugle est sur 9/10

Similar to Encre Noir but cleaner, less on the earthy, dusty side. It also gives an expensive vibe that the EDP version is lacking. Perhaps the ingredients are better too because Encre Noir gives me a minor headache but this one doesn't. 9/10

so much better than the edp. smells very similar but just a little extra earthy and lasts so much longer. the edp would be gone within an hour and this one lasts me 7+ hours. worth the price difference if you love vetiver scents.

I would say it is more grey (like the bottle) than the previous iterations. It has a dry almost metallic (borderline synthetic) austerity, the nuttiness is gone. Having said that, I like it better than the previous versions.

This is just amazing. Raw, fresh, unapologetic, classy and dense. You either wear this or it wears you. Expensive but you get quality for the price. As with all Tom Ford fragrances - very professional and intriguing.

This is better than the EDP IMHO. It is creamier, less screechy and of higher quality. Now that said, I still think the EDP is amazing, but this is just better.

To me this smells like a better version of Terre Hermes eau vetiver. Its strong and it will last forever on my skin, absolutley loving the scent

All I can say is the vetiver is amazing here. It smells super natural,rich,nuanced. It s much better than in all the other versions.

Outrageously macho. A woodchuck with champagne taste. When I need to overwhelm my audience with unabashed power, I turn to this.

This parfume is literally the most different summer parfume .dont worry about it and it will satisfy you ,I m sure about it

Gray Vetiver Parfum is an aromatic, woody and earthy fragrance. The development of the fragrance is almost the same from start to finish, it has a woody and citrus aroma with earthy overtones, and as its name says, based on vetiver. Compared to the EDP version the smell is more intense, almost metallic, it probably contains some sage and spices, I thought I smelled a little tobacco. This fragrance is elegant and dense in woods, for daily use and in any season of the year, office work, formal and casual outings. It can be adopted as a signature fragrance, because it is a pretty good fragrance. The longevity of the fragrance was more than 12 hours, with a good sillage for the first two hours and then it decreases, but maintains a good presence. I really liked the smell of this fragrance, it is a great version of vetiver-based fragrances, although if you already have Vetiver from Guerlain it could be redundant, but it is definitely worth it if you like vetiver-based fragrances.

I own a bottle of Encre Noire Sport. When I first wore GVP I found some similarities. There is definitely more saffron/spicy nuances in the mid but as it dries down I find it very very very similar to Encre Noire Sport (which perfromance-wise is also better!). My top vetiver fragrances are Vetivera by Le Couvent and Terre d'Hermes edt but I love also to wear encre noire which is very interesting. I can firmly say this is way way way overpriced, if it wouldn't have Tom Ford on the tag people would find it less interesting and they would put less hype around it. This said is a nice fragrance, cannot say I don't enjoy it, but happy I just had a decant and didn't go for the full bottle. If you like how the vetiver is done in here definitely go and try the Encre Noire line: go for the classic for a dark "Darth Vader" vetiver, for the Sport for a more wearable frag (similar to this one) or for the extreme if you want a more smoky one.

There is a special category of fragrances in my stable. Not the normal ones I wear for a special night out...or the inoffensive, daily office pleasers....or the post workout, gym shower freshies...or even the dumb reaches that are just there and better than nothing. Somedays, I need a bottle that isn't for complements. I need a bottle that's for noone else but me. Somedays, I'm looking to offend. On a challenging day where I'm focusing all my power and saying fuck you to the world, I want to wear something that amplifies my energies...and that something can't be sweet. This GVP falls into that category right along side Gucci Guilty Absolute. A bit challenging. A bit strong. A bit standoffish. If you want to please others, go with the lighter, more citrusy EDP or EDT. If you want to please yourself, get this dry vetiver bomb.

Very similar to the EDP but longer lasting, more linear and not as bright. I get a bit of the saffron and there is not a heavy emphasis on the citrus notes. Most of the TF Signature line Parfum flankers (Ombre Leather, Noir Extreme, Black Orchid...) have been slightly different but not longer lasting as one would expect from a “Parfum”. The Grey Vetiver Parfum is also only slightly different than the EDP in scent profile, but it is definitely longer lasting. No need to own both unless you really love Grey Vetiver and/or want a backup to your EDP. I would pick the Parfum over the EDP if I was forced to, but they are both excellent. I much prefer Creed Original Vetiver though. Definitely more wearable.
