Mandarino di Amalfi

The first TF I fell in love with. Also the first high-end, niche fragrance I really tried. I was amazed! It's this clean, slightly soapy, and so sunny and bright fragrance that's so perfectly uplifting. It made me want to go to the Amalfi Coast of Italy, dreaming it would smell like this! So, I finally made that dream happen (or at least to nearby Sorrento and Capri), and I definitely got this fragrance's vibe from those places! That may partially be because I was wearing it, but let's ignore that ;) I can think of no better fragrance companion when touring the Italian or Mediterranean coastline--although there are a lot of other great ones! I first bought the body spray. It was great, and if you really sprayed a good bit, then you'd get nearly the EDP performance. But it's missing some complexity and evolvement that the real EDP has. So, I caved and bought it, too--no regrets. Honestly, they layer well together so you can improve performance. People complain of longevity, but I've got over 9 hours out of this if I didn't really sweat. On average, after about 5-7 hours, it's more of a skin scent. I recommend doing two sprays everywhere you spray if you really want it to last. I do two behind an ear and two on a wrist and get great performance. It's unisex. On a scale where 1 is ultra masculine and 10 is super feminine, this is probably a 6 or 7.5. It takes a clean cut guy to pull this off; a macho dude will smell confused with this. However, with the right sense of style, this matches perfectly. I've worn this to the pool and to business meetings in a fine Swiss-made suit; neither felt out of place. I'll wear it year round, but it's best in Spring. 10/10 scent, perfectly fresh. 7/10 longevity. 9/10 sillage. Blind buy safe Edit: just bought a second 50 mL so that I can have one for travel. I’ve only repurchased two fragrances ever: this and Kilian Vodka on the Rocks. I now have collected over 10 Tom Fords and this is in the top tier of the collection. I’ve even gotten 10 hours and 6 or 8 of projection. That’s incredible for something so fresh. The quality is there on this, and I just can’t understand anyone who dismisses it as being boring or unpleasant. Still love it as much as my first sniff!

@SoF228. Hot shower, including good quality body scrub. Pat dry, you don’t want open pores to close. Use a decent, room temperature post save firming lotion, let it sink in. 2 small squirts will do your upper body. Let it sink in, then use one of the many Acqua Di Parma Citus body lotions, paying close attention to the areas you spray. I know it seems a lot but it’s literally 5/7 minutes which you’d use to dry yourself in any case. Finally spray this beautiful and delicate fragrance. Heat is your best friend when using this. Please do not think me patronising as I learned this only 16 months ago, on a Acqua Di Parma holiday, which ended up in me making my own fragrance I’m willing to bet you will have a 180degree turnaround on yout opinion. I’m willing to bet a full 100ml bottle on it. This is my promisory note v Not only will you have a wonderfully upliftihg first burst but it will last. Do not wear this in even close to cool temperatures, it’s will just be waste of superb juice. As your body warns up, you will catch strong wafts of this fragrabce. Others will notice it too. Be prepared to get asked what are you wearihg We all have too many citrus heavy scents but way too many do not get taught how to get the best of them. My word is my bond. Your bottle will last much longer. You WILL get compliments and enquiries, all day. Just my opinion but based upon what I was taught in Sicily. Many of Tom Fords cutrus collection work , very well with ADP skin preparation products. It’s an area TF have not plugged that gap. I’m so positive you will be delighted in the olfactory difference and in projection, longevity Me ? I love it as wavs but now a 100 ml bottle lasts me 2 summers. Enjoy. Expensive, but by far the best citrus that I've come across. Definitely signature worthy for a guy, although I do have to admit it can come off as a mature feminine scent too (depends on the person, everyone has their own preconceptions). I think it's the basil, black current, amber aspects that set it apart from others and gives it that elevated feeling of sophistication. This is both elegant and slightly challenging and at the same time mass-appealing and easy wearing. I'm not a big Tom Ford fan (overhyped & overpriced) but they created a classic here and I expect this to be in my collection as long as it's in production and for a while after that. P.S., dont let others steer you wrong, the performance is tops, especially for a citrus frag. Top notes may fade after a few hours (true of most frags/they can't all have oud-like performance), but the mid and base are so good I dont mind. In fact, I look forward to those phases and I think that individuals that have the ability to move through equally satisfying phase progressions are the ones that stand above the din of decent scents that start off promising but fade into obscurity even if they dont fade out altogether.

Folks, it looks like after a multiyear hiatus this beautiful scent is back. You can now purchase it from discounters and department stores in North America. MdA has returned at an interesting time since we are headed towards winter in the Northern Hemisphere and TF's line up of "Mediterranean summer perfumes" is already quite crowded. Even so, I was excited to purchase a new bottle, as I much prefer this over the other scents within the category like Neroli Portofino, Solei Blanc, and Costa Azura. The way the orange blossom combines with the musk and civet makes the florals not feel not too overcharged (unlike the neroli bomb in NP) and gives an elegant sexiness to the dry down. To me it is unisex but leans masculine. Projection is not great, but I prefer my perfumes that way. 2 wrist sprays and 1 neck spray is enough for me to enjoy the scent, but for others it to enjoy it, it may not be enough. Longevity is moderate at about 4-5 hours. Yes it is overpriced, but for me the the scent really is that much better than the cheaper alternatives like the Aqua di Parma series. I love the MdA dry down so much so its a 10/10 from me.

Let me start with: good that it was a trade and not a buy haha. Because of its way to overpriced for a mediterrane scent which cost you max 10% of retail ij italy itself for example. The Scent itself altough is a perfect picture of rhe amalfi coast. It has that same base as neroli portofino, but smoother an softer opening and mid. Butter and semi sweet citrus opening is great, some wil compare to toilet spray, but its not if you know the mediterrane you know this is super blended! This scent is unisex for sure so for anyone no problem and any occasion is ok, it doesnt offense. For me its great ill use it for sure but not sure if I would buy it again, since there are others like azure lime, neroli portofino Forte and costa azzura aqua whoch is prefer.. 8/10.. its almost the most complete mediterrane scent.. so if you looking for that here it is! Performance is similar to other tf freshies.

As many of the other reviews have said, one of the best, if not THE best citrus fragrance of all time. Up there alongside Afternoon Swim by LV. As the name suggests, you feel as if you are on vacation walking along the amalfi coastline on a hot summers day. A fresh and rejuvenating blast of citrus at first, drying down to a slightly more floral note. Whilst the performance is not great, especially for the price, I get pretty decent projection and longevity, around 3-4hrs of projection within arms reach and 6-7hrs of longevity in total. Nowhere near the abysmal performance I've seen others complain about, although I may just be lucky it lasts on my skin. If you have the spare money to splash on fragrances, love fresh citrusy scents, and are willing to carry a decant if necessary/don't mind the average performance I would recommend this. Overall - 8/10

I’ve saved up my hard earned pocket money for nearly a year and only last night I proudly pushed purchase on a 50mL bottle. It’s the most irreplaceably juicy, sweet, realistic orange I have ever smelled, and underneath is the swirling tide of mingling animalic musk that, while only a warmth and not a full whiff, still brings to mind the smell in the toilet after you have had a large bowel motion then spray Orange Power air freshener. It’s too dirty to my nose for an everyday work or socialising freshie, but I understand and respect that others perceive it as such. I’ve been using Molecule 01 + Mandarin in my office rotation, and The Body Shop Full Orange Blossom as a weekend errands orange. Despite both being lovely (not to mention kinder to my budget) neither satisfied my lust for the thinly veiled scent trail of arse-wipes and orange.

Mandarino di Amalfi really lives up to its name - it truly makes you feel like you’re sat in the sun on the Amalfi coast. It opens with a burst of juicy lemon and grapefruit with a gentle orange blossom, beautifully combined with herbal aromatic notes of basil with mint and tarragon in the background. In the heart, sweet blackcurrant and and airy jasmine join the mix which leaves an intoxicating sillage. Once this settles, a gentle peppery kick is joined by a light musk and vetiver which gives the scent some added depth. I wouldn’t say the civet, labdanum or amber are detectable at all. This is one of my favourite fragrances from Tom Ford, while the longevity is unfortunately not great - the scent itself as absolutely stunning. One of my favourites for the summer and a perfect option for when you want something refreshing.

Possibly my favorite from Tom Ford's Private Blend collection. If you're looking for a scent that captures the vibe of the a dive into the Mediterranean Sea at the Amalfi Coast on a deep blue summer day, Mandarino di Amalfi is perfect for you. It opens very citrusy, then transforms into a slightly aquatic vibe, before melting into this warm, slightly masculine musky base. Don't get me wrong, this works perfectly fine as a unisex fragrance--it's just that to my nose, it would lean more traditionally masculine, towards the classic, fresh, blue scents that we all know and love. This smells much more luxurious, though. It's essentially a beach vacation in a bottle, and I know I'll be taking this with me on every beach vacation I'll go on from here on out. This scent compliments such a setting perfectly.

Mandarino di Amalfi by Tom Ford is a citrus, herbal and aromatic fragrance. It has a delicious citrusy output its scent smells to a juicy and bitter citrus, with herbal notes of the garden. I love it the smell in this fragrance, it feels a great quality in its ingredients and smells very natural. After time the citrus decreases, but the green notes stays longer. Mandarino di Amalfi is a daytime fragrance, excelent for hot days on spring ans summer. Its longevity is around 8 hrs. and is notorius first two hours to decreases the rest of the time. I love the smell of this fragrance, but is overpriced to despite of its quality. A good alternative to Mandarino di Amalfi is Artisan Blu by John Varvatos, but without the same beautiful citrus opening.

What, and WHAT, and more what?? Is discontinued? I don't dear to say anything, thinking of saving money for this beauty, I have smelled it for some y here i Norway now, and "sitting still in the boat", don't dear to do anything.... just waiting for the right money to come my way... I have been to Amalfi twice, the most beautiful place in the.. or.., I want this perfume so much, as much as I get sick , yes, I haven't seen it in the shops for a while , sold out ??, what , why discontinuede a perfume that always sold out ??? - It makes no sense to me??? I'm clueless, (i'm just so very poor), but now EVERYTHING I OWN IS NOW FOR SALE!!! - just for getting this beautifulll perfume, jess, just for this perfume I don't need anything else ....

Aaah my favorite. I will always have bottle of this in my collection. It's totally unisex IMO. The herbaceous opening is so nice with the mint and basil! Fresh! Minty! Citrus! The grapefruit and lemon give a fresh juiciness that I really love. It reminds me of Orange Flower Water (a bitter for making cocktails) it's a spot-on scent match! This performs great in all weather conditions! It's just so SUNNY AND FRESH! It's a little floral on the dry down but not overly so. For the dry down I mostly get musk and vetiver. Worth every penny. Love. Love. Love. (I am a huge TF fan. I have this, Neroli Portofino, Fleur de Portofino, & Soleil Blanc. They're all at the top of my faves list. I am on the hunt for Sole de Positano next I think)

Mandarino di Amalfi is one of those scents that feels like stepping straight into a breezy Mediterranean afternoon—bright, effortless, and just a little luxurious without trying too hard. It’s not a powerhouse in terms of projection or longevity, but that actually works in its favor—it wears like a second skin, ideal for warm weather or relaxed, upscale settings.

Akin to all TF's, this is overpriced. You can find a summer time fragrance that is just as good for way less than half the price. This doesn't last too long on my skin, or project too much either. A very clean, orange citrus smelling fragrance with white florals. Smells just like a ripe orange and I really like the scent, I initially smelt lemon and just straight lemon scent (my brother called it "lemon water"), but that was the citrus, it dries down quickly into something nicer. It's good and I think it is perfectly unisex, I can imagine a woman or male wearing this fragrance really easily - truly very unisex. It's very bright and best worn in the daytime. I can't really see this being worn at night time.

With hotter, sunnier days, it is that time of year to start wearing Mandarino di Amalfi again. After you spray Mandarino di Amalfi, close your eyes and you're transported to a lush green garden dotted with fragrant orchards, the classic Mediterranean summer dream. The fragrance itself is fantastic! Citrus fruits and a floral aura that conceal an elegant, soft and refined freshness. It is very elegant, appealing, and simple to wear. Given that it's a citrus fragrance, I'm pleasantly surprised by its longevity, which lasts about 3 hours on my skin, but it is extremely durable on clothing. This has become very expensive, so try before you decide to buy a full bottle. 10/10 for me.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this fragrance. The opening is otherworldly fresh and of mandarins, though I recently discovered I am biased towards orange and citrus scent (this was the fragrance that made it my favorite accord). Does it project well, not without at least 10 sprays. Does it last long beyond opening, not really. Mainly it depends on how you apply it. For me, its my gym fragrance and the dry on it is marvelous and even after an intense workout, i still have a fresh/musk scent to my clothing. This applies whether i am in a a/c cooled gym or 90 degree Florida heat. I brought the 100ml bottle in December and I will be needing a re buy come June/July.

The opening of this fragrance is maybe my favorite of any. Lovely minty accord mixed with freshness and almost culinary in some respects. Beautifully contrasted with stunning citrus notes. Absolutely love at first sniff. However I was saddened to find the smell dissipating extremely quickly. The projection leaves extremely fast. The fragrance in its entirety is gone on my skin after just 3 hours. That’s a bummer not just for this price point but for such an amazing fragrance. If it’d last longer this would be my favorite fragrance ever. I’m still willing to purchase a bottle just for that intoxicating first hour after it’s initial spraying.

This scent is absolutely wonderful and honestly one of the best freshies I've put my nose on. Incredibly fresh and invigorating citrus with various green notes and white florals. This actually smells like a rather realistic mandarin which is especially interesting as mandarin is not actually listed as a note in this fragrance! The white florals blend very well, transporting you to the Amalfi Coast to live out your fantasy holiday in your head - fruity cocktail in your hand, enjoying the beating sun and the fresh breeze by the sea. On me the dry down lasts all day and is incredibly gorgeous! Do yourself a favour and pick up a bottle!

The spectacular opening of freshly peeled mandarin orange is as extraordinarily realistic as it is uplifting. It rides on a wave of delicate florals, namely jasmine and neroli. Like sunshine in a bottle! I can’t help drawing comparisons with Creed’s Jardin d’Amalfi - they’re not just similar in name. Both share the same beautiful tangerine/mandarin opening, but the florals are different. Creed include rose, but otherwise keep to a simpler formula than TF. TF includes a plethora of notes which to my untrained nose are undetectable. While both fragrances are delectable summer delights, I prefer Creed’s simpler approach. Less is more!

Beautiful scent. Smells like a citrusy mandarin orange, very fresh and gets good compliments. A unique scent that cab be worn for special occasions and daily wear in the summer. It is pricey but imo it was worth it seeing as I got in for €200. It is my new favourite scent as it is very unique in my fragrance and I am absolutely in love with it. The longevity however isn't very long nor is the silliage, with a spray on my pulse 3 on my neck and one on my chest it will become a skin scent after 3 hours. Very nice fragrance I highly recommend you try it. Not sure if it is blind buy safe for some people however.

I have a lot of reasons not to buy a full bottle: 1. My skin chemistry does not hold perfume well so I always look for something that lasts long on my skin. 2. I love fresh citrus scents but the nature of these types do not last long on anyone. 3. This is crazy expensive as others have mentioned as well. But my bottle is now on its way: 1. I sprayed a sample... roamed the mall... had dinner... took a shower... and I soaped twice at that... it’s still on my arm!!! 2. If I buy a bigger bottle I could lower the price per mL to the level of my other bottles. 3. Yup, I’m crazy... others have noticed too.

This is actually my first Tom Ford fragrance and it was love at first sniff! I guess if you are into citrusy refreshing scents then you will love this. It’s perfect for sunny weather where you want to feel bright and juicy and fresh. The first thing I smell is the mandarin and then some green notes. It is a very classy citrusy scent. I think this is a safe blind buy if you are into citrus and greens. The price is a bit expensive though but for me it’s worth it. I also get compliments when I wear this, people around me also find it very refreshing and they know that it’s high end lol

Top notes: Lemon, Grapefruit, Mint, Basil, Tarragon, Black Currant Middle notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Clary Sage, Shiso, Coriander, Black Pepper Base notes: Musk, Vetiver, Civet, Labdanum, Amber Maybe it’s just the chemistry of my skin, but I don’t get any scent notes of black pepper. To me when I wear it, I am brought back to a vacation where we all would fresh-squeeze oranges in the early AM sun on the breezy beach. The best OJ I’ve ever had, and the best memories of lazy days when there’s not a care in the world and everything is perfect in life. Fresh, fresh, and more fresh!

This is one of those fragrances where the juice is just SO spot on that you could care less that the longevity is less than stellar... It is transporting and fresh, clean, lightly soapy, like being on a beach with a cool breeze and having someone fresh pressing oranges behind you letting the pulp and rinds sit in the sun. Somehow in that brief moment in time a breeze goes past that fresh citrus, through some beautiful white flowers and winds up blowing straight at you, warm and wonderful. Over spray it. You'll find it lasts long, just needs some extra pumps! Great.

Some of the pretentious reviews on here make me think many really do not have the fragrances they review as , even though hard to be objective, i truly do not understand how so many hate on certain fragrances. Can only think because they have dupes and not the real thing. I buy frags, first and foremost, for myself and to uplift and improve my mood. I don’t do long reviews but this is a sprin/summer citrus and really lifts me. I never ever smell others with it on and for a reason, price. Have a look at yourselves people, no need for a life story

Elegant and sophisticated citrus scent with none of the detergent like harshness a lot of people associate this type of fragrances with. It’s bright thanks to the abundance of citruses in the opening, there’s lots of neroli and jasmine- at no point too overwhelming but present all the way to the dry down where they’re complimented with a beautiful musk. Love it, would love it even more in the form of a diffuser to have it going at all times during summer instead of sniffing my wrist every 10 seconds like a psychopath.

Opens up with a very nice lemon and grapefruit that is really uplifting and addictive. It smells like your wearing a linen shirt at a beach caffe at sunset super inoffensive and gets compliments. Spray a lot of it tho like 6+ for sure. As it settles it keeps the lemon and grapefruit but becomes more floral woth the orange blossom really showing up and adding a depth that helps keep it from being just another citrus scent. Try getting a private made dupe for the price it’s a lot to get the OG.

Bright, juicy and effortlessly uplifting. Well done citrus fragrance with a smooth, slightly aromatic edge that keeps it feeling refined rather than sharp. It smells high quality, natural and very “Tom Ford” in its polished execution. Performance is decent for a citrus and it layers exceptionally well with Neroli Portofino. Both really capture the Italian summer vibe very well. RRP is steep, 50ml only sizing feels quite limiting at this price point.

Gorgeous and refreshing! Now THIS is what I expect from Tom Ford: unique, great sillage and longevity. Mandarino di Amalfi reminds me of my trip to the Amalfi Coast in 2010. I saw lemon prints on textiles in every gift shop and I can still see and smell the fresh lemons growing outside homes on the hills. It was a bright and sunny drive and I think this reflects the feelings and emotions of living carefree on the Italian coast. Just lovely!

Starts off as a minty, citrusy scent, but after the drydown turns into a floral scent. I am very disappointed by the longevity of this fragrance. I can't even hit the base notes, because it lasts less than 30 minutes on my skin. For the price, could've done a better job making the longevity better. Would've been perfect if it would last longer and be cheaper. Scent: 5/5 Performance: 2/5 Longevity: 1/5 Sillage: 1/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5.

My favourite from the blue private blends. If you want to smell like a chic, easy-going and charismatic person just get this. Mandarino di Amalfi reminds me of all the oldschool movies like La Dolce Vita, Plein Soleil and La Piscine. No... I don't mean it smells dated... no, no... it gives me those free-spirited vibes, full of character and some 'je ne sais quoi' thing going on. Juicy clementine on a bed of white flowers and green herbs.

Holy wow. The moment I first smelled this I fell head over heels in love. Immediately transported to sun splashed Amalfi, or Capri, Ray Ban Wayfarers, Aperol Spritz, cool white linen, beautiful & gentle waves of orange blossom & jasmine blowing in on a warm Mediterranean breeze. This is a shockingly beautiful scent. Upscale, classy & elegant. Squarely unisex. $$$$ though worth every penny. My holy grail summer scent.

Oh what a beautiful mandarin for summertime. I have a little sample I’ve used sparingly all season and I’ve loved the way the orange blooms on my skin. My fiancé isn’t in love with it, to him it is just kind of soapy but when I personally get a whiff from my wrist or something, I feel instantly happy and light-hearted. Definitely a summertime fragrance I’m keeping in the rotation.

Simple yet unique. This has to be one of the most well crafted and pleasing fragrances I've had the pleasure of experiencing. It's nothing short of stunning, I bought it instantly, I'll be getting back ups now it's supposedly discontinued. The other reviews describe it well so I have nothing more to add. Without a doubt juice from the gods. 10/10

This smells exactly like the Amalfi Coast. It brings me exactly back to Ravello overlooking the ocean from up the hill, herb garden rustling a bit in the warm breeze, lemon trees and orange blossoms wafting around you, all on a beautiful base of natural musk. This is so chic, unisex, and fresh while also being interesting. It makes me so happy 🤩

It opens with a mandarin orange smell that lasts for most of the very short duration. It manages to smell authentic and not synthetic (which was an issue I had with other Tom Ford fragrances). It's very fresh and citrus, ideal for Summer days. Unfortunately this lasts for around 3-4 hours before fading to a skin scent.

I've worn this a few times over the past month and I was really hoping I wasn't going to like it. But each time I wore it I fell harder for it. I'm not going to add anything new to the chorus line, so I'll keep this short and say this is another wonderful, bright and natural composition from Tom Ford.

Mint-soaked citruses sweetened by orange blossom and hints of jasmine. Lingers for around 4-5 hrs, before drying down to a soft musk/amber/labdanum base. Very breezy, very Italian, if you've ever visited the Amalfi coast you get the impression immediately. Best worn in the summer, it's just fantastic.

I've worn it for two days and I'm convinced its the best fresh fragrance. It smells like freshly poured orange infused sprite. it lasts a long time on my skin and I can smell it on myself after a long work day. Price is jacked up ay too much. Get it discounted only. Where can i find a 100ml bottle?

This is sooooooo good. So uplifting. Sparkling scent that just makes you feel good. The notes here are weird. It smells exactly like mandarin. No lemon or grapefruit at all. And it's not that heavy green smell you imagine when you look at the notes . Turns into musky skin scent in the dry down.

From an uneducated standpoint: Love this fragrance but only on very hot days, its starts quite fresh and green, a little dark smelling at the same time. The dry down is gorgeous, just wish it lasted longer and projected further. 9.5/10 on 30°+days, 4/10 when not.

Very nice sexy fragrance, different from Neroli Portofino in its own way and not as strong. It does smell a bit flowery and feminine but that's a nonissue for me. It lasts about 5 hours on my skin and has decent sillage. I love it.

this is one of my favorites of all time for summer, and for a TF it is surprisingly long lasting, I get good sillage for the first 2-3 hours and then a fairly dominant dry down for the next 4-6 hours where i can still catch whiffs.

Orange and musk, with the softest white florals. As the orange fades (as all oranges do), the lemony citrus holds on well, with the warm musk still dominant. It’s pretty good. Full bottle worthy if you know you like strong musks.

as an italian i can't do anything that to fell in love with this, the most beatiful and clean lemon and grapefruit in the market i know the price point is crazy but this is an archangel

The scent is outstanding but I’d never pay this amount of money for a designer fragrance that lasts an hour with weak projection... Why not go for Acqua di Parma?

Paradisiac! it's a good humor maker... sadly the longevity suks.. it is the type of fragrance that i like to use in summer days... scent 9/10 , longevity 5/10

True to its name and fantastic in hot weather. Really clean and fresh. Too bad it’s beauty lasts all but 10 minutes. Typical for TF private blend it seems.
