Noir Extreme

I had it and loved it a few years ago and it was just such a magnetic fragrance, to me and others. Then, once it was gone I didn't get it again due to other purchases that I made. I decided to pick up a new bottle a couple of weeks ago and it smells nothing like the addictive buzz that i got from the first bottle. Is that me? Is it reformulation? I don't know as I love that kulfi note which makes it different from all others. It smells fine, like ok, but just milder, and the spicy sweetness that made it what it was is completely missing. As with most bottles that I own, designer, niche or dupe, you know when it's good straight from first spray and longevity. Some are long away from maturing but others are great from the off, and sometimes this is regardless of their genre. I'll give this a chance again as it was a favourite of mine, so I'm hoping that after a bit of time just sitting in the bottle it'll develop, and hopefully Estee Lauder have not deleted or reduced all of the things that made it what it was years ago. We are now a long way away from the initial effect that TF fragrances used to give us, and make our eyes light up, probably due to reformulations and different ingredients, but I wish after a bit of time this turns out to be good and maybe all will be forgiven. To tell you that I bought a clone of this locally a while ago, for around 1/4 of the price of this, there's nothing to lose, and when I used it, I thought it was a weak representation of the OG and I didn't use it after the first few sprays. Fast forward to last week when I did buy this OG and I sprayed both on different arms, then the realisation that the dupe is spicier, is more stronger and lasts longer than this original can maybe draw us towards only one direction. I love a dupe, especially if it is one from a discontinued fragrance, as the options are very limited or over expensive and I've got many, and I do always prefer to go to the original if I can just because I know what I'm getting. But when I don't then let's do a dupe as they are getting better and better all the time. I'm not a perfume snob at all. Let's get what we can that makes us happy and if the big fragrance houses take the piss, then bye bye.

This wonderful fragrance screams "night elegance" and "mystery", Tom Ford Noir Extreme is probably one of the pinnacles of luxury commercial perfumery of the last ten years. It's not your usual fresh, sporty masculine scent; it is dense, gourmand and decidedly sensual. As soon as you spray it, Noir Extreme hits you with an explosion of Cardamom and Saffron. It's a warm and pungent start, but made less "aggressive" by a touch of mandarin. It is an opening that immediately makes things clear: this is a perfume for those who are not afraid to be noticed. In her soul lies the true magic of Sonia Constant. The Kulfi accord (a typical Indian sweet made from milk and pistachio) transforms the fragrance. Instead of being a dry woody scent, it becomes creamy and almost "edible", while remaining masculine thanks to the mastic and white flowers. It's a rare balance: sweet, but with a solid structure. The dry-down (the final phase) is an embrace of Vanilla and Amber. The sandalwood adds a velvety softness that lasts hours on the skin. This is where the scent truly becomes "Noir": dark, enveloping and perfect for cold temperatures. Noir Extreme is the scent of the man who wears a black cashmere sweater or a tailored suit. It is magnetic and much appreciated by the female public for its sweet and spicy component. If you are looking for something even more intense and less sweet, there is also the Parfum version (golden bottle), but the Original (black bottle) remains the most balanced and loved for its creaminess.

Part 1: True story: so Im going to work one morning, it’s rather cold and wet outside. I have TF Noir Ext. on, as I like the longevity it offers through out the day. I have my big coffee cup in hand. Holds like a quart. I’m heading inside the construction site that’s a completely gutted 109 year old building that’s being restored. Several men wearing hard hats, safety equipment and boots. All are bundled up due to weather and no climate in old building. Everyone sleepy eyed,it’s not even close to daylight yet. Lots of dust and dirt with dull lighting, broken concrete, rebar, and lumber . I know what you thinking, why would someone wear Tom Ford in a setting like that? So there is a meeting being held, safety stuff, blah blah. And break, we all head off to our own task. Out of all those men I only know of one other guy there that wears colognes daily. The rest you can tell just would not have the slightest interest. Later that day one of my coworkers comes up to me and ask what kinda coffee you drink? He proceeds to explain how during the meeting he couldn’t get over how great that coffee smelled I was drinking. How powerful it was, and it just seemed to linger in the air around me. I had to explain it all, brand, creamer, showed him pictures, where he can buy it, etc. It wasn’t till later that I realized it wasn’t the coffee aroma he really liked. It was Tom Ford Noir extreme. Poor guy just couldn’t process someone smelling that nice in a place like that, so it must be the coffee.

First smell: I got creamy and dark vanillic accords along with bitter accords that were distinct from each other, and they contrasted so magnificently to bring so much character to this semi-gourmand fragrance -- the bitterness making this a semi-gourmand fragrance rather than a gourmand fragrance. This smells textured -- you can pick apart the different, distinct accords. This is a moderately-sweet fragrance with a lot of character and complexity, especially from some bitter accords that compete with and contrast against the sweet, creamy accords. It generally smells like a complex dessert you'd get at a high end restaurant, consisting of something sweet and creamy with bitter flower petals for contrast and complexity (not white florals, and not rose; some other dark, bitter floral). This would be a great spring/fall counterpart to Black Orchid, which is more fall/winter appropriate. Definitely not as dense and full-bodied as Black Orchid, hence I think this is optimal for fall, and can be easily pushed into spring with fewer sprays. This is sexy enough and semi-gourmand enough to be used as a seductive scent on cozy date nights and in the bedroom (while still smelling very expensive), and yet complex enough to wear with a suit on formal date nights -- incredible. Unisex. This is as opulent/luxurious and almost as sexy/delicious as MFK Oud Satin Mood (unrelated scent profile; just for comparison), but has as much character and rebel bravado as Black Orchid.

Hear ye, hear ye! This is the best designer oriental on the market. It is sweet, but the spices, florals, sandalwood and kulfi note give it the perfect amount of balance. It is wonderful. It is brilliant for Autumn and Winter. A spray or two is office appropriate. A few more is night-out appropriate. It has the perfect amount of projection for this style of fragrance. Dear God! Such rapture! But soft, what cry from yonder tiktok breaks? "But squire! This is a date-night fragrance! This isn't a clubbing scent! This isn't a head-turner!!! I need to project loudly so the buxom maidens notice me and hold me in their thoughts!" And to that I say, I don't really think its the job of your fragrance to do the heavy lifting that your personality and style is meant to do. If you can smell this scent on yourself all day long, whilst projecting enough for anyone close to you to be able to smell you, that is ideal. Instead of trying to slip your olfactory goodness up everyone's nose, let them come into your space more; if they want to be near to you, they will be able to smell you. If they don't, they won't. Noir Extreme is an inviting fragrance. Be an inviting person. With many fragrances, less is more. Noir Extreme is a brilliant fragrance because its projection is fundamentally moderate, but its execution is fundamentally perfect. 10/10.

I yoinked this from my ex husband. I accidentally sprayed it near my clothes, and let me tell you, when I woke up the next morning, the first thing that hit my nose was this beautiful, intoxicating, delicious, and incredibly unique scent. I literally searched for the source of the smell like a K9 narcotics dog, and it was this perfume! The first few sprays might smell masculine, but once it settles, it becomes completely unisex. Both men and women can easily rock it. Sometimes I layer it with white floral perfumes when I want it to lean more feminine, and it gives me a rain of compliments. I honestly believe this is a hidden gem for women, especially because it is marketed as a men's fragrance. After around 30 minutes, it turns into this gorgeous creamy, gourmand, woody scent. I don't really believe perfumes have genders anyway, but even if we talk in stereotypes, I wouldn't automatically consider creamy woodsy vanilla gourmand perfume as a masculine. It’s just dark and spicy, with a somewhat slightly aromatic edge. And if you’re a man considering buying this perfume, it also smells hot af on men. A chameleon perfume. Truly unisex. The perfume adapts to you, not the other way around. Nu-uhh never judge a perfume by it's opening and name alone.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme another WOW fragrance from me, but this one is different. This scent isn't a casual everyday scent that you use, no this is a special occasion scent that makes you bold and confident. Scent wise, the name says itself. Dark and extreme, a powerful scent that you take a long deep breath of and realise why everyone likes it. It feels like you are travelling through dimensions when you get that scent in your nose. Simply to say, i love it, however... Projection could been a bit better. It last very long hours 10+ on me, i sense it, i feel it and i want more of it. But it feels as if it isnt as strong in projection wise as it is described by many people. Ive gotten compliments of it, and also stays very well on the skin, i can definetly feel it from morning to night on me. 10/10 scent Projection 8/10 strong, but could be stronger. "Sensual"

I mean this in the best way possibe, Noir Extreme might be my most unisex leaning fragrance. And this isn’t some bland CK One type of deal, this is classy unisex that absolutely works on anyone who wears it. Noir Extreme masterfully blends gourmand, floral, and warm amber notes to create one of the most deliciously complex fragrances I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I’ve only had kulfi once from an Asian supermarket, but the connection was instant the moment I first smelled Extreme. The mix of saffron and rose with vanilla and cardamom comes together beautifully to create a rich, mouthwatering kulfi accord. Overall, I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking to add a unique gourmand fragrancel something truly unlike anything else on the market Memorability/Uniqueness 15/10 Silliage 9/10 Longevity 9/10 Overall 10/10

Nice for a date night, also works well during daytime in winter / fall season. Personally, I dont think this parfum is too feminine to wear as a man, but it depends on what you usually like to wear. It definently can be worn by women aswell, it's very much a unisex choice in my opinion. I love this one, it is complex but well rounded. Not too sweet, not too spicey. It is subtle enough where I think you can wear this on any occasion. But then again this can also be a negative, since its subtleness also means that the sillage is rather weak. Once it dries down it fades into a whiff of nothing. Not literally, but it's almost a bit too weak of a performance for a parfum in this price range. For that reason I will keep this one for special occasions, even though my intention was to use this as a daily during winter.

Finally bought this scent after considering it for a while and it certaintly didn’t disappoint. It opens with a nice blast of cardamom and nutmeg and a bit of mandarin in the back. Then the dry down is just amazing. Creamy, smooth and rich, it evokes confidence and class whilst making you feel warm inside like a hug. The kulfi note is definitely there, creamy sweet and rich with a bit of floral sweetness and radiance, then the vanilla amber and a hint of wood comes. I just wish the woods were a bit stronger but overall a lovely scent that is perfect for winter, i wouldn’t call it unisex as to my nose it is definitely a more masculine scent, but if you are a woman who feels they can pull it off then go for it. 10/10 apart from i wish it lasted longer.

Smelled this at a Sephora yesterday and I was reminded of how good this actually is. This is a fantastic fragrance from Tom Ford and It's really everything you could ask for in a date-night scent, or really for any situation where you want to be the best smelling person in the room. I'm not usually a fan of gourmands but I cannot pretend that this isn't good. It's a gourmand, done in a masculine way. It's very warm, a little bit spicy, and the kulfi note is very unique. Vanilla is probably the most prominent note to me, but I also pick up on some floral aspects, but it never leans feminine. I'm not sure what it it but I find this stuff addicting, and I can never stop smelling myself when I spray it on. Remarkable stuff from TF. 8.5-9/10

It’s a cooler day here in Maryland (65F and rain), so I decided to break out one of my favorites—Tom Ford Noir Extreme. This fragrance is rich, warm, and seductive, making it perfect for crisp weather. It opens with a spicy burst of cardamom and nutmeg that immediately grabs attention. As it develops, you get this creamy, exotic kulfi note blended with soft florals like rose and jasmine, adding a smooth gourmand touch. The dry-down is luxurious and comforting, with amber, vanilla, and sandalwood giving it depth and warmth. It lasts a solid 6 to 8 hours with moderate projection. This scent is simply seductive but not in a assertive way, neither in a weak way. It sells s*x but not in a dirty way, This scent is very alluring. The vibe is really when Tom Ford was designing for Gucci. To me this is a Bisexual scent. A model who is drop dead sexy and is a model in the 90s Very hero*n-chic and having s*x with men and women withing the fashion industry. It sells darkness and glamour. Its exactly what the 90s Tom Ford Gucci was. Dark, luxury, S*X, dr*gs, money and power. Of course everyone can wear whatever they want, but not everyone should wear this. You must have that high fashion dark, sexual, flirty aura to pull this off. As i said very bisexual scent. Very 90s Tom Ford Gucci vibe.

Really like it. Got a decant first and now bought a 50ml. Feminine leaning as in 50/50 unisex to me, dark, seductive. Cardamon, nutmeg and kulfi being the main characters to my nose, maybe a little saffron. It is just a nice fragrance. I got a good deal on it for a 50ml, Tom Ford's are always expensive but I think I picked this up for €70-80 and 50 ml is all I want now as my collection grows. I think you could get away with this in the office in autumn/winters as a daily driver as it is not crazy POWER!ful but it is long lasting and will get you through the day. Date night approved or just movie whatever. Works very well dressed up. Great fragrance. Not much I've smelled quite like it

Noir Extreme is a beautiful, unisex-leaning fragrance thanks to its sweet, creamy nature. Even though the sillage is a bit softer than I’d like, the scent itself is so comforting and classy that I find myself reaching for it often. It is effortlessly elegant.

This scent really fits the description - mysterious. I know there is a note of "kulfi" dessert and many people call it a gourmet scent, but it doesn't have that impression on me. I would describe it as a beautiful, high-quality, masculine, sweet scent with a hint of cardamom, vanilla, saffron, neroli. Simply a masterpiece. I completely disagree with the reviews that the scent is feminine or too floral. I don't smell anything like that. I also don't think it's old-fashioned or unsuitable for younger people. Probably the best blind buy I've ever made. A luxurious perfume for winter season. Above average projection and trail, lasting 7-8 hours. Overall 9/10.

~ No novels here on this noir review. To cut to the chase for the reader this is the epitome of men's "sexy" scent. A word I almost refuse to use but straight out of the bottle this is an alluring formulation. It will project a quiet confidence through it's subtle spicy nutmeg notes and gives a creamy comforting reassurance in it's all day gourmand'ish vanilla. The only "extreme" to be found here is in it's ability to please every nose fortunate enough to be in it's warm and sweet sensual sillage. I’ve had this one for a long time and somehow it still surprises me every time I spray it. The opening is this warm sweet cloud that almost feels edible, but it never gets heavy or annoying. There’s that creamy gourmand vibe, a touch of saffron, a soft amber , and then the drydown turns into this smooth vanilla musk that’s honestly addictive. Yeah the performance isn’t crazy and it won’t fill a room, but the scent itself is so good that I’ve never cared. It has that pull. That romantic, cozy, slightly seductive energy that makes you keep smelling your wrist without even thinking. Sonia constant is a genius

Might not last as long as other fragrances, but this fragrance is my all-time favourite. I remember smelling it on my father when I was younger and he allowed me to use it for my first ever date. Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but this fragrance has a special place in my life and will always be my go-to scent for small social gatherings and intimate moments with others. It isn’t a scent that lasts you all day, but it’s an alluring and gorgeous fragrance that will guarantee compliments. I will never face a stage in life where I don’t own a bottle of this fragrance, and i implore you to give it a try.

Funny because i was very disappointed in the start because so many talk about creaminess smell and woody but i smell very spicy smell like cardamom and flowers and like pepper but when it dry and after some hours the creaminess begin to show its fantastic and ...i was in beginning like...i dont like that smell of flower and spicy smell but time after time i try it it getting better and better and i really smell the masterpiece in it...its delicious...👍🤤😍 And maybe not for everyone but it was a blindbuy for me and i think you have to get used to it and it getting better and better

A stunning fragrance. From the moment I smelled it I knew it was something special. At first spray, there’s a lovely sugary mixture of spices and milk, giving way to a note of rich and decadent dessert of which I can only assume is the kulfi (Never had one!). It really is a work of art in my opinion, I wouldn’t have imagined such a sweet scent could still be so masculine but it works! My wife commented that I smelled like I just finished making a batch of cookies. It’s playful and warm, like a big fuzzy blanket fresh from the dryer! Smell it for yourself 😁!

One of my favourite special occasion fragrances in my collection, good for weddings, parties, business meetings, etc. Wouldn't use this as a daily wear, casual scent, it deserves more respect than that and there are plenty other fragrances that can fill that role, this is a sophisticated fragrance and should be treated as such. Noir Extreme is everything you think a Tom Ford fragrance should smell like and Sonia Constant did an exceptional job creating it. 10/10 for me, performance is around 6 hours with light-medium projection.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme is such a gorgeous sexy alluring scent. If you wanted to critique and be really harsh, yeah, for it's price point, it's a teeny TINY bit soft, when you'd like that little more room filling punch right from the off but honestly, you'll still smell this easy no problem for good few hours and nobody isn't going to like this. If your like me and only get the opportunity to suit up or really dress up a couple of times in your life for events or family occasions this is what to top your look off with each time!

at first, it was a harsh smoke of cigarettes to me, not being sure if i liked. but man did it grow on me, it's a smell for the type of man that grabs life by it's balls, and carves his path from marble hand by hand. incredibly charismatic and bravery inducing, a very kazuma kiryu smell with strength and manliness, it's like a tribute to masculinity without being suffocating about it, a low-key yet standing tall about character type of way. an attractive shade of dark is the best way to describe it. definitely do recommend

This is the king of sexy fragrances. Perfectly layered, complex, sweet but with a hint of dark, gourmand but mature, not the typical bubblegum vibe for teenagers. I wear this one all dressed up, definitely not for casual wearing. Night out/date fragrance. You will smell irresistible and feel the king of the night. It's a winter fragrance but you can dare to use it even on summer, unless you don't overspray like mad or stay on close environments, performances sky rocket when the weather is warm! 10/10. Extremely good.

I was grating nutmeg one day for something I was cooking and decided I wanted to smell like that. Rather than rub fresh nutmeg all over myself, I did a search for Nutmeg forward frag's and came up with Noir Extreme. Cant remember where I first tested, but I remember I was floored. Turned out, the nutmeg is there, but it brings a lot more to the table. Been wearing it at least once a week for about 5 yr and I bet it makes me look silly walking around sniffing my wrist all the time. So, yeah, I like!

Stunningly good and incredibly interesting. On immediate spray (and I mean pretty immediate, lasting for probably less than 3-4 minutes), I get a “wet ashtray” note. Strangely, despite the fact that I hate the smell of ashtrays, it isn’t an unpleasant note at all. This soon disappears and is replaced by deliciously sweet, warm oriental spice and smooth woody notes. Longevity is pretty astounding and sillage is what I like to call “sensible”. Superb stuff and a scent I keep going back to.

It should be criminal that this perfume is advertised as a men's fragrance. In my opinion, it is a truly unisex scent that actually leans slightly feminine. To all my girls out there, don't be fooled by the company categories and try this beauty! It's a lush scent that is warm, spicy, woody with a gourmand twist—making it feel very sophisticated, unique, and interesting. This fragrance is wonderfully cosy and well-blended, and I absolutely love it during the autumn/winter season! 🥰

Wearing this masterpiece out for dinner tonight with my wife and it is so beautiful. Such an amazing smell. Like everyone else have said for a thousands of time, it is to soft, but it carries itself so well around your own nose you kinda not bothered if the person next to you cannot smell it. Although you most certainly can't help it to wish for everyone around you to smell your good scent. Definitely for intimate very special evenings if you know what I mean...lol

It’s neither Noir nor extreme — but it is a soft, masculine, and incredibly sexy scent. Slightly sweet but never cloying, like a refined dessert in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The performance is good, although the projection is only moderate, so it might pair well in a layering combo. Personally, I prefer the EDP version over the parfum. It’s hard not to like, even if you’re not usually into gourmand fragrances. Give it a try and don’t judge it by its name.

Very elegant but too feminine for my taste !! I would describe the smell as "sweet-milky-spicy".. This should be marketed as a unisex fragrance.. I love the smell and I want to use this fragrance but I just cannot !! This kinda smells like my mom's makeup box.. Projects at about an arm's length radius for the first hour or so and settles down as a skin-scent.. Longevity on my skin is about 5 hours.. On clothes the smell lasts for days...

very good fragrance. i love old tom ford products. it reminds me heavily of them. something that you never smelt before yet it's so familiar i've never had that kulfi thing, but this reminds me of my childhood somehow. the only downside is its performance. gets off your skin in like 3 hours. you could say it's perfect for date night to smell like a rich gentelmen, yet sweet and seductive. what a shame i have no game

Most men don't like smelling their own perfume on a lady, who loves to wear it. Thats it. Just simple reality. Ladies if you love a men's perfume its a good thing and it means you are gonna love it on that special guy and that means it serves that purpose. What it does not mean is, I am buying it for myself to wear. You would not be happy to smell a man with your Hypnotic Poison by Dior. Just some advise.

I fell in love with this scent as soon I smelled it. Absolutely deliciously sweet with just enough spice so that a man like myself can pull it off. This is one of those rare unisex scents that I think truly works equally well both ways. This is a perfect perfume for someone looking for something dessert-like. The only downside is that it doesn’t perform as well as I had hoped considering the price point.

I absolutely love this perfume for it's rich, creamy, smooth and chocolate/ date like opening that lasts about 10 minutes. But then I loathe the synthetic and musty cardmom drydown that comes along, Which gets amplified over time in the drydown and ruins my day. What a loss. Also, tom ford should use a much more quality cardmom than this which is avilable even for brands like demeter, what a shame.

This definitely leans strongly male. Really luxurious scent but not drowning; good mix of sweet and spicy but that dry down is exceptional...just blended to perfection. Wore it tonight - cold rainy summer evening here - and it went over well. Of my TF collection it really is a toss up between this and OL as the best in the line. Totally different scents of course.

A perfectly balanced gourmand, not too in your face but not just giving a hint of nutmeg and vanilla. Some people say it’s not lasting and it totally disagree! it lasts 8-12hr on skin but clothes, days! I recently applied this to my undershirt the night before work and it was still projecting at least at an arms length with the middle and base notes.

A vey sexy vanilla scent. One of my favorites. However this has the worst longevity i have ever seen, it literally fades within 2 minutes. I once sprayed like 8 sprays and asked my friend like 15 mins later if he likes the scent and he couldnt smell shit. I also went home sprayed it on my wrist and not even 10 mins later its fully gone.

This is my all-time favorite. It’s so spicy at the start. The spiciness is perfectly balanced, and the kulfi note is one of my favorites. Overall, it has this incredible vanilla sweetness. The kulfi note really comes through—at least on my skin—and the base notes are simply an amazing combination; it’s one of my favorite fragrances.

Oh my gosh where do I even start. One of the best evening/winter time fragrances I've ever smelt. Sort of gives me nostalgia and just a good burst of happiness when I smell it. It's a complex, warm vanilla fragrance with a rich person vibe to it, probably one of the best vanillas I've smelt EVER. Definitely recommend 👌 9.5/10

This is a gentleman fragrance. Stop trying to make it more feminine. There are perfumes made for ladies to wear, and trust me the guys would prefer them on a woman. Stop wearing perfumes that are made for men just because you think they can work for women. Men don't like smelling women with their own perfumes. 🤦

This and the Parfum are masterpieces. This one is a little more versatile because it it a little lighter without more of the tobacco note. I love them both. For most, having both would be redundant. For me this is an easy fall winter wear, could go light on a spring day as well. I'll always have a bottle.

My dad wears this. It's VERY masculine. There's nothing wrong with that of women want to wear it, of course. I think it would smell good on anyone but it's good that masculine edge. Something about it reminds me of Donna Karan DK Fuel from back in the 90's. Maybe a little Escada pour Homme too.

It's my office scent for wintertime for 5 years. Strong but in warm style. Very cosy not too sweet scent with a hinge of woody accent. It's not very strong because i apply it carefully and this is why i like it. You can moderate the scent. I use it in bigger ammounts also for special events.

Stupidly gifted to an ex boyfriend, I miss it so much. The sexiest scent that I am aware of, reads really masculine to me but works well on women. Extremely easy to overspray, I personally recommend no more than half a spritz on skin, but that also makes it the best bang for your buck.

The most sensual cologne I've ever smelled. To me one of the best. Perfect for a date night and intimacy. It's not a beast mode but It's one that apply and I want to hug myself. I've tried the parfum version several times but this is way better IMO. Women love this on a man.

Very similar to Ahmed Al Maghribi Joud with its proeminent nutmeg note, with lower performance. Beautiful bottle. Smells unisexe on a feminine leaning side I since found a better alternative : Royal Blend Nero, it’s like tom ford noir extreme with better performance

This is the best perfume I’ve ever used in my life. I wear it every single day, all year round. I believe everyone has that one soulmate perfume... and this one is mine. Update: I would only skip it during summer, where something fresher makes more sense.
