Noir

A59 (May 2019) batch. I just walk across random store where sell perfume from a far I notice this. Black stunning bottle. Of my curiosity and temptation. I stop and ask for a sniff. I get this 100 ml. around 120 usd. I check the authenticity and seller is nice enough to give me 1 spray tiral. This is an instant love, I do not know because of the name or not but I feel this is quite similar to Noir de Noir. But tone down, reduce the rose, reduce the truffle add more Velvety feel, and Mild Powdery. and you have it Nior EDP. The sweetness in these frags are just right for me (TF Noir de Noir / Noir) The open is pungent, so strong you almost chock. Mostly, it is Vebeena and Bergamot on paper. But on skin is quite mix and not prominent. My skin eat top note very fast. But when it is settle down a blast of Floral and Rose is release. God Damn. You already had me. When it dries down further all the velvety feel mild animals start to leak out. Release the strong smooth bed of Powdery Creamy Vanilla comes to play with Floral nuance. Last bullet - mild Patchouli to add more expansiveness. I feel so sexy, enigmatic, alluring, sensual, and mysterious. I am lucky to meet you after you discontinued. Wear test. It is only downside At, 1.5 hours after wear , the scent is tame down significantly and projection is closer to the skin. At, 5 hours mark. the scent is almost skin scent but I still catch a whip of floral from time to time. At, 6 hours mark. All of Middle is gone. It leave a trace of creammy baby powder on skin. At, 8 hours mark. It seems gone but I still catch a whip of the base a bit. Longevity: 6 hours // Projection : Best in first 1.5 hours (I wear this at 88F / 31C environment around 1 1/2 hours, mostly stay in climate control 77F / 25C the rest) 10/10 Ps. I feel this have quality of private blend (?), It smells upper scale. If they release this today call “something-something noir” I believe it will sell. ==== Update 1 : 16 Mar, 2023 After collection of 70 fragrance, I think I land this as my signature scent. Don't know, but the dark powdery civet, rose, mildly sweet, patcholi really get me going. I think last batch here will be 2019 batch in Thailand. Stock-up 3 bottles, just don't wanna be hustle in the future. Ps. I don’t think word “Noir” doesn’t mean it for a nightwear, Noir in this context means Dark, Mysterious but Comforting personality. It is not bright in all-regards. But I think you can both day & night time. ===== Update 2 : May 17, 2023 After I own for 3 months, I let it wait but the performance doesn't get any better. I am so sorry, The Middle is so beautiful but the base just ain't it. It is dusty dark powder, mild patchouli and minimal vegetal iris. If we talk about the top and middle it last around 4 hours. The rest dusty dark powder until the end of life. I wish the middle could last a little longer. Scent 10/10 (consider performance 8/10) Classification: Homme (Homme 65% / Femme 35%) Longevity: 4 hours (Top & Middle), linger after 4 hours as dusty dark powder. Projection: Moderate-Loud during first 4 hours, crush into skin-scent after 4 hours. ===== Update 3 : April 20, 2024 I was removed TomFord Noir from my selection for a few month now. Due to soft performance, I ignore him a big while. I am now in Guerlain territory. I just discover both true and modern classic. I actualize another thing.. "Fragrance doesn't have be screamer".. It can be soft cloud of protection that cover you. I find this most true to most Guerlain's offering 2 days ago, I revisited White Patchouli, just for fun. Somehow, I do not know. Is I crave patchouli or I just bored of my current selection. I miss this earthy patchouli that TomFord use a bit. But White Patchouli, on my skin pulls a bit Floral, Aquatic, Incense on my skin. It just not something I could grab everyday. I almost forget that I own TomFord Noir. "That also contains the sour, balsamic patchouli". I recall, this was my favorite too, I spray relentlessly today. Yeah, TomFord Noir is my thing. The way earthy balsamic patchouli builds in the opening. Then the amber - powdery accord build to cover Patchouli. With a tint of floral to support fragrance. That's just a round perfect powdery-warm fragrance for every modern day. ... why I dismiss you in the first place..? Maybe you have to learn, maybe it is a journey. But I will wear this more often, the powdery fragrance that got everything. I don't mind the soft fragrance now. Do you? ===== Update 4 : November 25, 2024 I am really digging so deep in Fragrance world. Eventually it's kind of Clique thing to say. "The Highest point is Return to Principle" But yeah, it's might actually so true as universe law. Another fragrance test night. Today I test Caban, Caftan and Noir pour Femme. Kind of want to drive in Amber (my preference is contains incense or olibanum btw). Caban & Caftan is Classic Amber fragrance with modernize material. Stay on skin really long, Properly develop and leave beautiful dry-down on skin. Still, In more modern perfumery manner but pleasing. It's happen that I also test Noir pour femme which is also beautiful and cleaver construct. But the dry down.. the dry down is pretty much the "hazelnut cream and sour wood" I feel like.. why I want to stick with scent for the rest of the day. I go thought article and it mention about incense so I bring Tom Ford Noir to test. I remember that this is also Patchouli-Amber fragrance as well. To be honest, your body knows best (not the mind, the thought). Because when I test this I feel like, yeah this is really good execution fragrance. And why Tom Ford is represent the scent himself. The classic fragrance gentleman genre almost has certain border. It could be very fancy like Bodacious or plain like Noir. People trends to looks at pyramid of note and how it develop. But the aftermath - the dry down. is also pay important part. "Noir, gives a really nice Patchouli - Powdery dry down". That feels clean, intact with your skin, this is wear you gotta stay with fragrance. Until the end of the day. I test out Santa Maria Novella "Ottone" and it shows most awesome stage, 30 hours on clean shirt. When retest again.. as I sniff the scent I recall similarity in "Sharlima EDC". Yeah, this is almost use the same amberine construction. I feel close to Sharlima because animalic undertone. But it is patchouli with Leather and powder feel, the floral. The core concept is similar. But Noir utilize the modern manner, the amber that carry on to most Tom Ford fragrance with Patchouli, as It goes deeper, you have time for it to develop, it getting better. Noir is modern, Noir is clean. Sharlima even in EDC concentration. is really diffusive while noir work more like cloud of protection. A trend I notice that, as people grown to their favorite fragrance. They start too lose the projection factor, if you doesn't look for functional fragrance. It is actually tired if you wear the high perforamnce fragrance for a Long time. Sometimes, we need closer projection just use as an garment. Noir is a good scent in that matter to wear daily, truly. Kind of old money thing. However, Noir is still opulent and full of details. for person to enjoy. In the end, it might be only certain fragrance that fit genre. Noir hold regard in that matter as modernize shalima. Maybe you doesn't really have to find another scent. if certain scent fit your need. All you have to do is enjoying it. As far as I test out fragrance TomFord, I think this is their best in catalog. Modernize Classic Masculine patchouli-powdery scent in easy to use way and pay tribute to a root of perfumery. Not overy floaty and opulent. A good fragrance for everyday. I really enjoy this scent profile. ===== Edit 5 on February 5, 2025 A reintroduce of classic scent from bygone era. A Powdery Civet, Leather with Patchouli / Powdery Rose. A Medlay of Classic Masculine fragrance from 80's. I make with more modern material and soft. People who crave classic scent, will enjoy Noir. ===== Edit 6 on January 7, 2026 I always return to TomFord Noir, perhaps I can say I force myself to wear. But not actually force, perhaps - my words of choice would be, It find it a bit boring to wear but it kind of the truth I always return. TF Noir is old man fragrance root deeply in fragrance perfumery. Perhaps, most groom in French tradition, it a bit boring tbh. Intellectual scent. but well it might be my last flight for self. Do I Floral girl or Humble Patchouli Man. Might be absolute question..

I’ve read several people likening Noir to Tom Ford’s Guerlain moment, with many recalling Habit Rouge, Eau de Guerlain, perhaps a bit of L’Instant. Noir doesn’t really comfortably and clearly overlap with any of those, but, if I had to pick, it is most like Habit Rouge. It’s a mash-up, at least as far as olfactive notes are concerned, giving spices more voice and sweeter ambers more weight than Guerlain liked to play with. However, it does share one of the most critical and signature aspects of the legendary-set of Guerlain compositions. Guerlain is immediately called to mind upon application as you are enveloped with a powdery and effervescent bergamot accord that is absolutely lovely. Sparkling and effervescent, calmly vivacious, gentle yet confident, and endlessly breathable and lightweight. These characteristics describe all of the accords across the life of the perfume; the evolution of the accords, as they endlessly play with each other in gentle ways, all the way to the final dry down without ever forcing themselves through is a core signature trait of Guerlain, and Noir pulls off that same evolution very well. The powdery bergamot eventually begins to give way after a good amount of time, but never fully disappears, and this is when Noir noticeably starts individualizing itself from the classics. Noir is a bit on a sweet side, it's amberic notes creating quite a big and noticeable foundation, but it never pushes the traditional boundary of too much sweetness; it's very tasteful and well-stated. The spice accords of pepper and caraway, and the florals of violet and iris and rose, do a delicate dance with each other - gentle push and pull, strength and vulnerability - as the powdery bergamot very slowly starts to slip away. During the final dry down, the upper accords are still present to some degree (again, harking to Guerlain at their best), and lighthearted and tasteful patchouli, balsams, and vanilla become more prominent. After spending a lot of time with this perfume, and putting my thoughts and observations to paper (so to speak), I cannot say this is an outright homage to Guerlain, Habit Rouge or otherwise. It certainly feels that way since it mimics the evolutionary template near perfectly, and Noir uses a lot of accords that Guerlain love(d) to use, but the way the accords speak create different depths of emotion that Guerlain didn’t explore. For example, Habit Rouge is emotionally available but austere, whereas Noir is full of emotion worn on its sleeve. There is a tender longing, a heart-wide-open vulnerability, to Noir that isn't present in Habit Rouge. Noir feels like a big hug to a loved one with misty eyes, either of longing or goodbye. What's more is that this is not the typical side of Tom Ford that we see, which is normally brash, a bit lascivious and trashy, over the top, decadent to the point of almost being gaudy, etc. Noir is plenty good to stand on its own without needing that context, but, when placed in that context, it says that Tom Ford's breadth and depth of creativity, and the ability to coax masterful technical execution of the vision from the perfumer, can place the brand amongst the best of the best in the designer world... when they try. I wish they tried more often. I wish we got more things like this from the brand. I absolutely love this perfume.

I have never been a follower of Tom Ford fragrances, they have always seemed too overrated for the performance they offer for the most part, but it certainly has some very well worked jewels and "Noir" is one of them, And since I was not going to like Tom Ford Noir, it does drink from one of the classics that I like the most in the perfumery "Shalimar" with which it shares more than 6 notes and although some are worked in different ways, such as vanilla, than here It is not totally the protagonist as in Guerlain's, but without a doubt they bear an enormous resemblance, both oriental fragrances, complex, loaded with notes, and yes, I consider Shalimar to be perfectly unisex, Noir could also perfectly be used by a woman, although its composition tends to be a little more "dirty" due to the type of musk used and the civet note, the contribution of freshness of a delicious ionone joins the powdery Iris creating a chord that reminds me of the Guerlain classic along with that powdery vanilla, not very neither sweet nor gourmand, the Rose also stands out a lot among its floral notes, it is a clean and powdery rose, all these notes open the way to the protagonist of this perfume, the patchouli, dirty earthy attached to the synthetic note of Agalia (civet) that together with leather and musk, dirty this composition a bit and certainly make it a little darker. There is something about this fragrance that is enigmatic and vintage, which reminds me of the "noir" movie bars of gangster movies from the 20s and 30s with art deco decorations. The same thing could be worn by a thug, or by a femme fatale of those that abound in those films. And it is that it certainly has a certain vintage, gloomy, dark and somewhat gothic air that reminds us of something abandoned, something stored somewhere, that grandfather / grandmother garment. Noir is a jewel of those compositions that may not please everyone but are an allegory to the most classic French perfumery, totally timeless, it could have been the male counterpart of Shalimar back in 1925 and as the eternal Guerlain classic, it would still be valid in this century.

Noir started my fragrance journey. Naturally, I owned perfumes before, but I owe my enthusiasm to this one. It was so special, different than anything else. As I look back, I think it's more niche than a lot of niche offerings. Yes, Noir is divisive, it's far from the so called typical masculine scents. I wear it rarely, however, I find it addictive. Its quite embarrassing to use this marketing bullshit, but it's true - Noir is "mysterious and sexy" Dark, powdery rose and patchouli as it was written previously. Top notes are cold violet and sweet iris root. Noir also has some spicy and earthy aspects while it dries down, thanks to pepper, geranium and clary sage. In its base, it has that oriental ambery facet, still, it's more powdery than sweet. I can see someone may find it challenging to wear, because its smooth, but little animalic. I can tell that I love its beautiful complexity and its slightly retro, spicy and oriental vibe. I would name a more modern, masculine Shalimar or Habit Rouge as a similar perfume if I really need to. Noir could be unisex in my opinion, but both sexes need some confidence to wear it. As for me, I think its for the dressed up, formal nighttime, or dates, in cooler weather naturally. Longevity is good for 6-7 hours, projection is decent in the first few hours. Edit: I tested Villoresi's Patchouli last night, and while the opening is totally different, I found its drydown VERY similar to TF Noir. The same spicy, dark and earthy patchouli.

The opening starts off very fougere-y, it's citric and green and sweet, but that fades away very quickly and you start to smell something very powdery and floral, it smelled like the powdery Iris from Dior Homme Parfum 2020 and come to find out after checking the notes, they both apparently use "Tuscan Iris". And for the dry-down you get an amber + vanilla + leather combo that works seamlessly with the smell and texture of the Iris. In my opinion it lands pretty unisex. I really really enjoy it and it is a very SPECIFIC kind of fragrance, it is really mysterious and Bruce Wayne-y, but not in the leathery and woody vibe, it is soft and powdery, like he would attend a late night party where he luckily has a night off, a black red tie suit with a long black wool or cashmere coat, it is very luxurious smelling. To me the performance was actually pretty good just from one spray on my hand, if i had a bottle and sprayed my whole neck i don't think performance would be an issue, and the scent itself is really mysterious and unique, i think it's best for it to be discovered than to fill up the whole room. 8-8.5/10 Dark, but in a sensual way. Noir.

Please, please, if you are a man unsure whether to get this cologne because of all the reviews describing it as an old man's scent (or even old woman's?), fear not and get it! I (23 y.o. woman) was testing it along with many other fragrances and out of all of them Noir was the only one that made me audibly gasp. It's just so beautiful, so mouthwatering, so sexy! I picked it out for myself because it has some of my favourite notes (iris, patchouli, leather, nutmag) and while it smelled beautiful on me, I think it would be absolutely ravishing on a man. Way more unique than the rest of the Noir line in my opinion. It is very non-linear, spicy, dark powdery scent that is slightly sweet, especially towards the drydown. It is way cleaner than most men's fragrances nowadays and the violet is quite prominent, but that are the only "feminine" qualities I could detect on paper, and on my very feminine skin. Definitely buying it for my boyfriend soon. Might steal it from him sometimes 3:)

Smells like Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Both in his "Welcome to my Home" form, and his "See me now" form. Mysterious, romantic, magnetic. Whether you likes him or not, you notice him. The Patchouli-Iris-Civet combo gives it a bit of an old lady/Shalimar vibe. But the composition is more modern, and more masculine. It's the kind of fragrance where the attitude, the aura, the presentation of the wearer is crucial. It's an all-occasion, day and night fragrance, but the wearer makes it or not. It will amplify the seductiveness of the wearer, or be completely off-putting and weird on him/her. Both performance and projection are average, but enough for this kind of fragrance. You want to smell it close to you in a bubble, like a scarf. If I needed just one fragrance for fall/winter, I would think twice before buying it. Cause it's a situational one, you need the right "mood" and style for it. BUT ! If I had a small rotation for fall/winter, it's a must buy. 9.5/10

In my previous review, I spoke about the fact thats it reminds me (and many others) of a vampire scent, visualizing Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula. I think I know why. It embodies the Lover archetype in Jungian psychology, the only archetype who have both feminine and masculine qualities. It gives a feminine vibe, while being grounded in masculinity. Same as this fragrance. Hence, why we visualize Dracula. A man, a predator even, but with absolutely refined and delicate manners, full of romance and love, very intense. Just like this scent. Masculine, yet feminine. To a point where only a truly confident man can wears it, otherwise the scent feels weird on the wearer. It would feel odd on a very macho man. It would feel also odd on a "feminine" man. It needs a wearer who knows who he is, anchored in his masculine side, while not afraid of having some feminine touch in his persona. Reminds me of Zan Perrion a bit. I would love to wear it, but I'm not here yet.

I remember when I first started collecting and my nose wasn't adjusted to niche and out of the normal designer fragrances. This was one the samples I got in a pack and I did not like it at all back then. It wasn't scent I was use to and it smelled old fashioned and slightly feminine to me. Flash forward a few years later with a sizable collection and my nose has changed. I decided to give it another try considering Ive been really getting into TF, so I ordered another sample. I can now appreciate this beauty of a fragrance, and understand it. It's dark, mysterious, rich and somewhat retro (but not in a bad way). I think it's unisex down the middle. I've come to appreciate the note of rose in men's fragrances, especially when balanced with darker notes (patchouli, oud etc..) I guess this is another bottle I need in my collection as I don't have anything in this profile aside from maybe regio.

Dark, quiet, sensual atmosphere. It feels mysterious and gothic, but in a very elegant, mature way. Definitely a night/evening perfume. I’m usually not a big fan of powdery fragrances, but here the powder beautifully accompanies the warm amber and resins, creating this velvety texture. It’s incredibly calming, almost hypnotic. I only wish the green notes from the opening lasted a little longer. It kind of reminds me of an old, empty theater, where the curtains and velvet/velour seats have absorbed all the luxurious evening perfumes of wealthy visitors over the decades. I have both this and Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense, they are very similar, but this one feels more mature and balanced. It has slightly less sweetness and more bitter greenness in the opening, is more powdery in the drydown, less "soapy," and has more animalic/leathery touch. Scent 9/10 Associations 8/10 Performance 7/10

Am so glad i bought it before it ́s gone! It somehow reminds me a drydown of Le Lion - that powdery dryness - this scent is nothing gothic to me, it ́s not too dark, not heavy (not so choking as Ambre Sultan) - it ́s a beatufully crafted elegance appropriate for business scenarios - very professional smelling scent, nothing screaming too loud for a attention but showing professional charisma, distinct ,self-controled. A scent that radiates timeless classiness! This doesn ́t represent any gothic to me, any Dracula vibe .... this is simply contemporary gentleman ́s classiness as it suppossed to be. Office friendly, safe , much safer than Ombre Leather Parfum or Beau de Jour - and much more mature smell than Noir Extreme which i can ́t stand for its commercial teenage pistachio vanilla cream sweetness .... this is 20 levels up with its quality - sadly discontinued as we all know

A really well made, classy, dark, powdery and sexy fragrance that is underrated for some reason.. It definitely has a resemblance to Dior Homme Intense and Dior Homme Parfum but TF Noir is less lipsticky and a notch more laid back, it also has a lot in common with Dior Fahrenheit Parfum but TF Noir is cleaner, less agitating and more powdery because of the iris note.. I’ve struggled to correlate this with TF Noir Extreme whatsoever!! The two are very different scents with almost no similarities, with Noir being by far the better smelling fragrance of the two.. I think it is more agile than what most people think, a cold weather fragrance mostly but suitable for the colder spring nights for sure, it could be even pulled off as a workplace fragrance if you spray it moderately, I definitely recommend it if you want to smell classy mysterious and different.

I've owned and tried many TF fragrances ,but nothing captures the essence of TF like noir does ,pure sophistication in a bottle . So smooth and well blended ,you can sense the high quality materials used to make such a beautiful scent ,the patchouli note here is one of my favorites ever . If TF NOIR was a person,it would be a guy is his 30's doing very well carrer wise,got everything under control,has the best penthouse in the city ,everyone knows him but rarely makes appearances but when he does he's the center of attention but he hates it ,likes to wear all black and always Clean shaved with a slick back haircut . I've got so many compliments from wearing this from girls i've dated or just girl-friends especially when you wearing it at the right occasion,it projects and lasts like crazy ,it stays for days on clothes and +10hrs on my skin.

Not all that long lasting, not all that projecting.. but that’s ok. For men (honestly anyone) who wants a darker dry down take on powder (are you someone who likes Shalimar but feels it’s too light but also doesn’t want to spend the money for Chanel Le Lion??), this might be for you. It’s designer male targeted perfumery that doesn’t exist in today’s age and for that it should be commended. A cozy, warm scent that starts out with citrus oddly enough and mellows into a soft blanket. It’s for someone who is confident in themselves but doesn’t need to shout it so, and for someone who knows what they like and is comfortable in that skin even if the last ten plus years of trends don’t point that way. And this fragrance does not point anywhere close to the direction of a trend.

My second favorite in all of my collection and my winter signature. It has a kick of lemon verbana at the opening, dries down to a powdery iris-violet combi and ends with leather amber nuances. A very complex and deeply layered perfume; it is dark, serious and ha sa lot of character in it. One of the most well-blended perfumes I have ver smelled to this very day and has everything I like it in, floral and powdery without smelling like a lipstick (looking at you, DHI). This is truly a gem for a gentleman and has an approachable mystery in it. Performance is great, I got about 8 hours on my ksin but wish it projected a bit more, mostly an intimate perfume. I went 3 bottles of this in past few years and I will continue to purchase as long as it is available.

A classic scent- but not in a sense that it smells vintage. This could be released in 2022 and would be a hit. Smells so good on the opening and the drydown. Many Tom Ford fragrances are linear but not this one. This starts out creamy and delicious and then the iris comes out making it powdery for a bit. There's also a bit of rose and greenery. Then come the animalics in the base which are pretty tame but just enough to give it some edge, and finished with amber. This has a ton of notes and a lot going on. But I get tonka, iris, rose, patchouli, civet, spices (pepper?), resins, and amber mainly. Perfect night out fragrance that will have you smelling worldly and feeling like a million bucks. Shame this was discontinued! Scent 7/10 Performance 4.5/10

My favourite of the Tom Ford fragrances I've tried. (Excluding For Men, and private blend naturally) I bought it immediately and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Sure it's expensive but I felt a compulsion and I don't regret it! It is dark, sexy, sweet(ish) at times, creamy, spicy...it's as simple as that. It has the very slight initial musty, irone/orris notes of something like Dior Homme, not that it's a similar scent but of the same ilk, dressy, nighttime kinda vibes for sure. I get the classical nods to Habit rouge for certain. It's opening complexity is reasonably short lived and stays close to the skin after being quite pungent for the first hour or so...nevertheless it's adorable and I highly recommend it.

As I often do, today I picked up the sample of this, which I sort of rejected the first time I tried it. As I recall, although it was pleasant, I found it a bit boring the first time, just a mellow iris scent. But today, when the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and spring is here although the cold air lingers on - gosh, I love this! Suddenly I pick up on the similarities with Shalimar, the bright, beautiful bergamot, but somehow toned down, with a little spicier twist and less vanilla, and of course still the powdery iris, and the candy-esque violet. Tom Ford Noir Extreme has been a longtime autumn favorite, but for me, this is possibly THE ONE for cold sunny early spring days :)

One of my favorites from Tom Ford. In the opening you get earthy violet, red pepper and subtle bergamot. After this you can smell nutmeg, violet, rose and also some geranium and pepper in the background. In the drydown the beautiful leather very similar to that in Ombré Leather, amber and vanilla plays the main role. There are also some nice resins and civet. The longevity is good but could be better just like in extreme version (4-6h and 1h next to the skin) and the projection is also great. Its an amazing unusual fall and winter fragrance and i highly recommend trying/buying it. The reason I’ve chose this and not Noir Extreme is the earthiness here. 9/10

this was my first fragrance, blind bought it because i read a review that you should buy it if you want to smell like an old church, lol. well, that checks out, to be honest. anyways, this fragrance is very refined and elegant, for me it works the best during fall. i really love the sweet-powdery-ambery drydown of TF Noir, it's so addictive. performance-wise it's great too – easily lasts on my skin for 8+ hours, projection is decent as well. i've pulled quite a lot of compliments with this one (from different age demographics hahaha, this fragrance is very mature). wouldn't recommend it for a blind buy, though, because this one might not work for everyone

I’m glad people are starting to pay homage to this fragrance . I where this more than I ever wore the extreme although I love them both . This just seems mysterious . Its also more diverse to me than the extreme . I’m a fan of incense frags and this is a creamy, powdery, incense fragrance to my nose . I feel this is a fragrance for frag heads so I wouldn’t blind buy this . I knew that it wasn’t hyped and figured it’d get discontinued at some point. Luckily my bottles have sat and had time to macerate and I don’t need much to get the job done . I smell more and more notes as time goes on . There is so much going on in this ! It’s a beautiful fragrance.

Just wow. A powdery, subtle vanilla-amber scent. Smells just like an old Chanel powder blush that my aunt used when I was little and it definitely gives that unisex vibe that just gets me everytime I smell this masterpiece. But it’s not that complex. It is very straightforward, revealing all the notes listed at once. Can’t count it as a con, though. Kinda dig this more than Extreme (that’s pretty heavy on vanilla as for me and much less powdery) but the projection and longevity kinda sucks here with Noir. The price point is...yeah.... You know that TF pricing policy. Ill give it a 9/10 overall, wish it lasted longer.

I was able to pick this up on the cheap from Jomashop during a big sale and an additional coupon code (frag heads always be hunting the discounts). Wearing if for the first time. I first smelled this on a tester strip and didn’t care for it. But after many skin testing of different fragrances I gave this a shot and purchased. I personally think now this is truly a masterpiece. It is so much better on the skin. I won’t get into the scent profile as everyone else is doing that. I can only opine that this fragrance is assuredly masculine in a great way and that I’ve never been disappointed with a Tom Ford fragrance.

I was gifted this for Christmas by my sister, I was a little disappointed at first since I had wanted to get Noir Extreme for myself, but my sister had accidentally bought this as a gift, mixing the two perfumes up. I didnt like it at first, its a bit of a more challenging perfume, and slightly more mature, but I’ve come to appreciate it and enjoy it... the dry down is the part I enjoy the most; it smells like a well put together, confident guy. Give it a good try before you hate on it, you might just enjoy it, its a plus knowing that it is quite unique and you won’t smell like every other guy out there.

Tried this in the airport on my way abroad and kept smelling my wrist. On the way back I tried all sorts (honestly I smelt like my mum's medicine cabinet) and ended up coming back to this. Just something nostalgic about the smell that creates images I can't quite get. Has something really special about it. Preferred it to noir extreme edp and parfum. It was layered a bit with Baccarat rouge which was absolute rubbish and I couldn't smell after about nine seconds. Hence the double spray. If you want a cheap alternative I've bought this and just jack homme noir. For under £20 it is super close.

Absolute masterpiece of masculine classy florals. The iris, violet, rose and other florals are insanely smooth and well crafted - no super lipsticky makeup powder bomb - I’m looking at you DHI! For the mature confident man. At least late 20s or 30s to pull this one off. Better than any of the flankers, more unique and less sweet. Definitely can see James Bond wearing this in the evening for a night out on the town sipping his martini. 10/10! Edit: this one has been discontinued for a couple years but discounters still have it so don’t miss out

A beautiful Gothic iris. I just love this so much and want a bottle. Dark, Gothic and elegant, but never predictable. This smells like an interior of a Victorian Gothic mannor house, elegant, dandified and masculine, yet with that unmistakable darkness. Wish it had more civet though, there is some vintage filth there, but it could do with more in my opinion. Doubling the civet would have made it an orgasm-inducing one for me. Yet I do not complain and am waiting for the opportune moment to get a bottle at discounters or buy a used bottle.

Masterpiece tier for sure I could never forget this smell takes me back to sophomore year of high school, can only guess that I must’ve known somebody who wore it cause it’s so many memories to me. Beautiful and floral, very Violet heavy which adds quite a bit of a soft powder and is accented by iris, even more gorgeous over time as a warm and sweet amber comes out that perfectly works with the powdery florals. This is like a James Bond scent to me, classy, beautiful, and enticing, overspray a little and you’re set for 6-8 hours.

If this fragrance lasted longer, my screen name on this forum may have wound up being “MrTomFord.” This stuff is absolutely intoxicating. One of very few ‘noir’ scents that lives up to the name. It is surprisingly floral and powdery, but still maintains a masculine edge. However, most disappointingly, it fades into a skin scent within 4 hours of application. This may be one of the most perfect date night fragrances I’ve had the pleasure of smelling. I would say a man in his mid 20s to late 30s could pull this off effortlessly.

It was one of my very first purchases when reviewers were admonishing it and it was widely available. Now it is discontinued and i see reviewers raving about it. It's a strange world of attraction for discontinued frags probably. For me it was love at first sniff and i still love it dearly. Amazing quality, balanced blend and good performance. You can smell different facets if you try. If that's patchouli, i love that. Iris and soft woods give a great touch as well. I hope i never run out of my vintage bottle. 10/10 for me.

My initial thought as I tried this in the store was ”What? No. I thought this would be better... unless?” After 10 or so minutes I completely changed my mind and it has since become my signature scent. I can’t help but agree with what has been said: this is the perfect ”goth-y, black clothes perfume” that still manages to avoid being depressing. Perfect for both day and night, ”Noir” is elegant, dark, but not at all cloying. I’ve only worn it in winter temperatures: this might not be my choice for a hot summer day.

This fragrance is an enigma. I can't make out any of the notes perse, but it feels like a 'me' fragrance. It's warm while being light, sexy while being professional, and clean while being edgy. While I enjoy fragrances similar to the way I enjoy a candle or room freshener as a stand alone scent, Noir by Tom Ford is one of the few fragrances that I want to smell like. Noir is the impression I want to make on others. I can easily wear it to any occasion, any season, any time of day.

I absolutely love this fragrance, and dare I say in terms of Tom Ford, ranks up there with Black Orchid. The powdery nuances from violets and iris, the spiciness of nutmeg and black pepper, roses, geraniums, opponax, patchouli- this is not a simplistic fragrance and it smells like something you'd pay attention to. The note that adds to this fragrance and brings it all together in a lovely way to my nose, is vanilla. It makes the fragrance unisex leaning masculine. That's all.

I like this more than noir extreme ! It’s powdery, balsamic with a resinous accord. I find it mysterious and warming with the spices ! It was underrated . To me it is as good as Tom Fords Higher priced fragrances . I’m glad I kept it . This is Tom Fords designer priced fragrance line but Niche quality ,well refined. All though there is a lot going on, it is well blended ! It is not for everyone. You like it or you don’t . Not talked about much In the fragrance world ! 9/10

I am absolutely loving this fragrance. I can smell Iris, flowers, patchouli, earthiness and a hint of sweetness. This is a modern scent with a bit of a throwback mature type vibe. I feel is is very versatile, might just be because I enjoy it so much though. This is a solidly masculine scent, but I also think it would smell great on a woman. I like it much better than both Noir Extrême and Noir Extreme Parfum. It is my new favourite winter scent.

Very unique, mysterious, yet wearable scent. Best worn for a night out but wouldn't feel out of place as a daily wear in the fall or winter. This is Tom Ford signature at its finest, before Estée Lauder took over and were afraid to be bold and instead made everything mass-appealing. Shame it's discontinued, but I'm happy to have picked it up before the gray market stock ran out and prices skyrocket. Performance is average. Overall: 8/10.

This opens with a creamy parma violet funk which sounds weird, but to my nose is pure pleasure. This dries to a pleasing blend of amber, rose and vanilla, which gets powdery in the deep drydown. This recalled Habit Rouge but oh so smooth, and thats where it beats HR hands down. If there's one word to describe this scent its 'romantic'. It's very versatile, with decent performance, and (just) gets a love from me. 4/5

The best one of the excellent Noir line. There's something animalistic that is absolutely enticing that isn't there in any of the Extremes ones. I should have gotten three bottles five years ago when I first bought it but I decided against it and got two other frangrances to gift my godmother and my niece...Fragrances that they were obsessed with but ended up growing out of within weeks. FML

Gothic perfume of my dreams. I was first intrigued by this perfume based on a review that mentioned it being something Gary Oldman's Dracula would wear, and I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. Mysterious, floral, woody, and beautifully powdery, perfectly unisex. I see this as an all-season, all-day perfume, but the wearer has to know how to own it!

It's just wonderful. I've tried Tom Ford's private series and nothing was as good as noir. Vibrancy of the top note, smoothness of the middle note, and sexiness of the last note All are wonderful! My wife loves noir dry down and will bury her face in my chest while saying how delicious and tasty it is. Hopefully a parfum version will be released.

Borderline masterpiece creation. Only performance lets it down. Cool and cold weather, from casual to very dressed up, versatile despite what some say. Has the civet left the building? I sense no animalic edge at all in the new bottle? What a shame. I assumed they'd reformulated it, but the core seems very different... I still adore it, though.

Tom Ford's "Noir" smells like Miles Davis's composition "Generique" played to a Lovers scene in a Film Noir. Its that dark. Its that Mysterious. Its that Sexy. Its Class, in the style of Modern Vintage. Noir is more than just a fragrance. Its an entire Mood. Its melancholy piano, bass, & horn in a dimly lit Jazz Club on a wet cold Fall night.

The initial spray can be harsh for some. If that's the case then get the EDT version. I suggest waiting 20 minutes after initial spray. I personally love this scent. You get powdery , Civet, Vanilla ,Amber with Black Pepper. Absolutely gorgeous. I do have the Extreme version and it's not even a similar scent. That's more gourmand and sweeter.

Smells like a vampire. Not like the metro sexual kind of vampire, but like the old one, that has been in his coffin for centuries. He is old, smelling like Noir, but the virgins will not resist his charm, and he knows it. Elegant, mature and distinctive fragrance for gentlemen, not for boys. Scent: 9/10 Performance: 7/10 Versatility: 5/10

While roaming around in Sparkjøp as I was waiting for someone, I came to their perfume section. While exploring, I came across a perfume called Conclude Edt by Omerta. Man!!! It smells exactly like Noir Tom Ford and costs around 15$ for 100ml. The longevity might not be the same as Noir but for this price it’s definitely worth to buy.

Scent of a mature man under snow. Inoffensive, warm , safe and beautiful . To me its amber floral rather than amber woody. Floral notes specially in middle are bolder and at bottom note amber mixed with vanilla. This is that weird fragrance that when I sprayed it on my wrist in the shop I walked around smelling it and thinking ‘what is this weirdness, surely I don’t like this’. Few weeks later I sprayed it again and ended up buying it. Now I wear it quite often. It’s my type of a fragrance, just a bit strange but very addictive.

A fragrance that transports you to a dark luxurious room, a calm ambiance, a place where your at ease; apart from the world. Either accompanied or alone. Must be worn with dark formal clothing, this a NOT a carefree fragrance.

MASTERPIECE. Yes, it is. Darkness, darkness, darkness all you will ever have. Think of a rose and skull. Love and death. Gothic-romantic nuances are very awe-inspiring. I adore the fragrances that embody and evoke such psycho-tension. Powdery, floral, warm. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 6/10

A bit dark and brooding, not exactly approachable or comforting. So distinctive, different, and striking. I wear this as kind of a fuck you. I don't care what people think when I wear it, all I know is I feel a sense of mysterious confidence when I have it on and I think it smells amazing.
