Oud Fleur

Oud Fleur Tom Ford (Review) I have been testing so many Rose-Oud fragrance in the designer market. Aas of now; I think Oud Fleur is the best among this designer market. As this is close to natural from of Rose-Oud fragrance. The actual "Oud" isn't Agarwood, instead the part where the Insect-infected agarwood. The dark part of Oud that infected. That's Oud. The rest isn't oud instead just an agarwood. It has quality of dark-smoky/cloudy wood. Naturally soft resinous (it is bark oil anyway), moldy - animalic. There is certain feel when you sniff the real oud and you feel slight disgust in your nasal but at the same time, addictive. Like dirty skin. Here; in Oud Fleur reallys simulation the feeling of Oud really well. Ther part of infected Oud; is twine really beautiful of Rose Attar. Fresh Dew rose but so bite. Like it have a drop of Marigold; feel like - India. Somehow the Hindu ceremony. Full of Marigold and Rose for Pooja. And that concoction of Marigold Rose and Infected Oud. This is really Devine. . . The scent softening quite it is lest intriguing from the beginning stage that full of details of Marigold rose and Oud. Into Spicy Woody, still carried strong floral tone and soft animalic tone from beginning state, very pleasing but it lest daring but in the same time still strong beast. Wearable. soft white smoke tone start to show; similar to Cafe Rose. End of scent is clean sharp musk and patchouli very faint spice tone from heart at around (7 hours post wear). But the skin scent is good. Clean Patchouli, soft white smoke still linger. anyhow as skin scent. If Patchouli is your friend, you know how it linger on your skin. . . From Original Rose Trilogy from Tomford (no not the late release); Noir de Noir / Cafe Rose and Oud Fleur. I think this extra what standard Private blend bring to the table, smoky - cloudy scent. It provide actual experience of Rose-Oud but in the same time is very usable as normal fragrance. (Might not for everyday, but still this is very wearable). However, if I can raise certain point; this is very spicy and starting point of the fragrance is very fearful. Please decant first as this may not really your cup of tea in term of Rose - Oud scent. But if you ever have chance to consider; Oud Fleur - I highly suggest; give this one a shot. At least, for the experience. I really love this one. (So far, I can't really find alternative for this scent.)

I would have known this was a Tom Ford fragrance even if I had tries it blindfolded. There is something quintessentially “Tom Ford” about it. I have found Tom Fords fragrances a little hit or miss. Oud Fleur was an immediate hit for me. It is a beautiful fragrance. Oud Fleur is a lovely smoky rose that never edges towards being burnt. This has a natural floral sweetness, none of the sugary sweetness often added to rose/oud combos, making this a refreshing alternative in that combo. Even if there are synthetic elements, the scent stays impressively natural and well-balanced. Each note feels like it has a purpose and they compliment one another. It feels like a lot more care was put into the composition. Especially when compared to most of the current releases. Although mainly a cooler weather fragrance, if worn very lightly it works in warmer weather as well. the subtle sweetness isn't amplified to an obnoxious degree in the heat. Its unisex appeal is strong. Oud Fleur carries a bit of mystery and a hint of aloof allure, yet it manages to stay captivating and undeniably attractive. I see this as a fragrance that a beautiful, powerful and intimidating person would wear. With robust projection and performance, Oud Fleur makes a statement without feeling overly heavy. I find if sprayed too heavily it can get a bit overwhelming but with just a little restraint this is stunning. It lasts all day, at least 10+hours with pretty strong projection for the first half of the wear. It continues to project after that, but stays within arms reach. I am disappointed that I didn’t discover Oud Fleur before it was discontinued. The chance of finding it for a reasonable price have significantly diminished. I enjoyed my sample while I had it.

Jivaswood, Oud is huge in Middle Eastern countries. HUGE. And since they are by far and away one of the most abundant purchasers of perfumes, these fragrances can help support many of the houses creative efforts, with just one great selling Oud perfume. Have you ever been to NYC or a nice retail store in a large metropolitan area? Arabs, bless their hearts, will come in and purchase hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of Oud fragrances, sometimes thousands for themselves and for those to take back home. Good for them and us. So yeah, get used to Ouds. They are good for business and that is good for the perfume industry. I'm sure it's like the French saying, "Jesus, another clean fabric laundry sport scent for the Americans? I'm so tired of it, blah, blah, blah." So stop you're whining. Oud is a fantastic element that broadens the spectrum and provides diversity. So many perfumes have had Oud in them as notes for decades without being named Oud. Just because many of the popular and niche houses have decided to add one or two to their lineup out of fifty or sixty, is that really something to complain about? Many like Malle and Diptyque don't even have an Oud. And if your referring to Montale, Pierre spent a bunch of time in Saudi Arabia perfecting Ouds for royalty, so yes, they specialize in that category. Here's a suggestion. If you don't like something, don't pay attention to it and focus more of your time talking about what you do like. Post that. Make the world a little better and brighter.

Very nice perfume but there’s no Oud in any of TF perfumes. He uses fake Oud accords. Real Oud is very very expensive to use and it’s about to be an endangered species and extremely rare to find. So if u own real Oud, save it, one day it will be worth more than gold. If you have ever smelt real Oud, u would be able to always detect it in any oud perfume. In fact 99% of all perfumes sold in the US contains no real Oud at all. But that’s ok, if it’s what you’re looking for. I have real rose and Oud fragrances and I love them, but I also like fragrances like this one with a great modern interpretation of Oud. I’m a huge fan of Tom Fords earlier work, not so much the crap that Estée Lauder has released under the TF name. Yes Tom sold out to Estée Lauder . Almost immediately EL reformulated all the fragrances to not only weaken them but to use cheaper ingredients. I have no respect for any perfumer who sells out. Tom Ford was very very rich, he didn’t need to sell out. Just goes to prove these so called perfumers really only care about the money and not the art of perfume making. How sad for us, we lost a great perfumer. You’ll never see any masterpieces come out of Tom Ford anymore . Just more garbage like F’ing Fabulous and everything else that came out after. You’ll never see another Amber Absolute(not the re released crap) or Moss Breches or any of his masterpiece first year releases.

This perfume was the true eternal in longevity! I recently opened the a bag where kept my halloween costume from two years ago (when I was still using my last bottle), and it still smelled like I sprayed it two days ago! That made me remember once again how much I love and miss Tom Ford Oud Fleur. This is my favorite oud perfume ever. I didn't get as much compliments for any other perfume that I wore. I'm so sad that it's no longer in production. I'm especially upset when big brands like Tom Ford discontinue scents from their high-end lines. If the sales are low compare to your blockbuster fragrances which you can find in every department store, keep the availability and production numbers low with the price high so you don't disappoint your loyal customers. Sell it only at Tom Ford boutiques, so your customers have a reason to come to your store. If it's about cost saving, it already have the same bottle as Oud Wood so they don't even have to produce a special bottle. I hope it comes back one day. So far I haven't been able to find a substitute. Please let me know if you find any.

I own a 30 ml bottle of this one and I like it very much, but don’t like the dry down. It’s as if it loses all of its unique beauty and becomes a yucky Oud smell only. And I’m not a fan of Oud, unless it’s very well blended that it makes the perfume better. Such as in MFK Oud Satin Mood, and even TF Oud Wood. I don’t feel like TF used the same Oud here as he used in Oud Wood, which I love and own a bottle of. What I do to make this Oud Fleur more tolerable is I layer a nice rose perfume over it, not at first, after about half hour of wear. At least til I finish my 30ml bottle, because I won’t be re purchasing this one . Oh if it only stayed as beautiful throughout as it is in the beginning, it would be such a beautiful perfume to own. But it doesn’t and it’s not. Sadly. Now this is only my opinion, on you it may be completely different. Scents are subjective and that’s what I love about perfumes. We all have our own experience with a certain fragrance. It would be a boring world if we all loved, hated and smelt the same thing in a fragrance.

This is a rather lightweight oud for me, but that may be a plus for those who are not crazy about Oud. Initially, it's rather strange and a bit frightening as all Tom Fords seem to be to my nose. They all have this 'odd' note which then morphs into something amazing! The opening is floral and resembles Atelier d’Orient Plum Japonais, but then the genius in this scent lies in its ability to metamorphasize into something else, resembling burnt flowers and wood. It's main appeal to me is the presence of a really dirty patchouli!! Heaven!!!! The smell starts to change constantly and I admit that I found myself inhaling deeply at different times of the day enraptured with this gorgeous aroma. Very very beautiful and clever perfume, I love it!! For me I prefer Oud Wood, which is a little fresher and where oud predominates, but this is a fabulous perfume and well worth the price tag. I will be adding a bottle to my ever increasing collection of TF's. Longevity is forever, silage is about 2 feet

CAPTIVATING I LOVE the rose sandalwood -resin -patchouli combination. This is a fragile softer, side of oud. Much more delicate than most ouds. A warm fuzzy fragrance that smells exactly what the notes suggest. Yet there are more notes in here , just not listed on fragrantica. Absolutely love it , very fresh due to rose and oud and sweet and warm due to resin and sandalwood. There is a hint of soft suede in here , really great. Wears close to the skin , my favourite of his oud collection. The sandalwood is creamy and fuzzy and milky and fresh and soapy, it fills all my needs and wants in one perfume. Its magnificent !!!! It layers beautifully with a few other TF fragrances. Cafe Rose Patchouli Absolue Oud wood Santal blush This is an amazing fragrance. It has many different levels and personalities throughout its wear time. The dry down is my very favorite part. Warm sandalwood , very unusual and milky. It goes through different stages. Incredible perfume. Genius !

I'm not a huge fan of "flowery" perfumes and I wasn't in a real hurry to try this offering from the Tom Ford machine. After tobacco ouds dense richness I figured this would be light. Was I wrong... More woods than flowers, Oud Fleur, is a dark and deep perfume that has thankfully toned down the rose that most rose/oud combos seem to celebrate. I have several, Rose Oud by kilian, Montales powerhouse Black Oud, and Mr fords Noir d Noir, and this is my favorite of all of them precisely because the Rose is less promenent. The oud accord is very heavy handed and to my nose, dominates. More so than in the other oud perfumes from Tom Fords private label. If I were to spend money on a full bottle of oud centric perfumes from this line, it would be this one. Performance is above average Scent 7/10 initially....8/10 on the dry down as the Rose takes a further backseat to the woods Projection 7/10...wafts in and out Fortitude 8/10...hangs on like a wino to a bottle

In darkness lit only by a waning moon, you strike a match and it burns, illuminating your face, so beautiful that it strikes awe even hidden and cast in shadows. With practiced swiftness, the match is brought under a blood-red rose, skillfully placed so as to smoke, but never burn. A single hot breath extinguishes it so only the smoke remains. Satisfied, you wrap a lustrous fur coat around laciness and your heels click-clack on marble floors as you make your way out the creaky, wooden door into the crisp night air. Mesmerizing, hypnotizing, trailing your fingers on each tree as you pass leaving blood-red prints in your wake. This is one of my mother's perfumes actually so I associate it with cheeky swipes of sprays before nights out in HS (what a price point to be sneaking those haha). So beautiful and dark - definitely wouldn't say this is a day scent or for hot weather although I could see the right person getting away with it.

For some reason Fragrantica has very limited details about this fragrance.. I don't know how to "suggest" my research or to fix it myself, but this is a very complex and sophisticated fragrance (I just bought one yesterday!), more smokey and less warm than most rose/oud combo. "Private Blend Oud Fleur is composed around an oud wood core, amplified with additional woody notes: patchouli, sandalwood, incense, styrax, cistus, a leather accord, ambergris and castoreum. The Middle East’s Damascus Rose heritage is evoked with a blend of Rose Bulgaria ORPUR, Rose Absolute Morocco and Rose Absolute Turkey ORPUR, said to combine fresh petal, nectar and stem-like scent signatures. This floral heart is enhanced with ginger CO2, cardamom seed oil ORPUR, cinnamon bark Laos ORPUR and pimento berry. The composition is completed with a touch of Geranium Egypt ORPUR, tagette, osmanthus, davana oil and a date accord."

Batch - A83 (2013) Oud Fleur is THE BEST fragrance that was ever released from this house by the master perfumer Yann Vasnier. Every single this about the fragrance is complete PERFECTION. I melt every time i smell this fragrance. The opening is so good with the oud and rose then comes the smokiness that just blends this fragrance so PERFECTLY. SUPER Dark mysterious and so rich in every single department. This smells NOTHING like any other Rose/Oud combo it's super unique. Its so clean,sharp,dark, sophisticated and strong i want nothing more from this fragrance. If i had to choose a fragrance for LIFE its this one any day of the YEAR. This thing lasts for over 10+ hours and projects STRONGLY for 3+ hours as well. Do yourself a favour and sample this and get a bottle before they become ridiculously expensive. THE MOST CAPTIVATING SCENT OUT THERE. 10000/10

This is not a review, rather a challenge to try Calligraphy Rose by Aramis and Tom Ford Oud Fleur. You will find them to be very close, Tom Ford Oud Fleur is a lighter version and not as intense or sweet. Both have that rose/resin or myrrh blend. Both have a warm undertones making it if I may categorize them to be slightly more feminine. I own two bottles of Calligraphy Rose by Aramis and enjoy the purfume. This isn't a knock on Tom Fords Oud Fleur. As a blind sniff test, the average person would find it impossible to notice the difference after the dry down. Before anyone blashes my comments try them out. I own several Tom Ford purfume including a full large 250ml bottle of Oud Wood Intense which I've yet to give a write up on. The quality of Tom Ford is certainly there, the overall aroma is too similar to Calligraphy Rose by Aramis.

Just purchased a 50ml bottle & I absolutely love this fragrance & cant get enough of it. I never imagined myself wearing a rose fragrance but this is incredible. Its only the second scent Ive ever smelled or owned that I just cant get enough of, Bleu de Chanel being the other. I get a beautiful rose opening that quickly turns to a tobacco type of note for a while (I know theres no tobacco in it) before I start to get oud & sandlewood. The rose is still there but more in the background. I get great longevity & projection is good without being too out there. My other fragrances will struggle to get my attention for s while I think as I want this on me at all times. Not sure I can afford it as a signature scent but as It is definitely falls in the expensive fragrance category.

Elegant, calm and charismatic Gentleman! *** *** *** What a great warm and spicy scent and almost close to perfect type of oud fragrance! TF Oud Fleur is listed among Woody Chypre types and has a great balance in representing a pleasant dominant bitter musky oud with a flavor of spicy rose. This stuff stays on your skin and specially clothes quite long and it is exactly what expected from a high quality expensive fragrance :) The scent is clear, unique and pretty linear to its base dry-down and is accompanied with resins, patchouli and sandalwood. I will cost you a fortune and you'd better be a rich guy with a elegant classy look and be over 40 years old :) In my opinion: Scent: 10/10 *** Projection: 9/10 Longevity: 9.5/10 Price: expensive Overall: 9/10

Wow wow wow 😍 This is the woody unisex scent that dreams are made of. A blast of oud, that then settles into a soft, dirty rose mixed with woods. This is one of those perfumes that has me sniffing myself constantly, it just really makes me happy. I’ve tried a lot of rose perfumes lately, and many of them have been sharp/soapy, but this one stands out for being expertly blended. It’s the oud that really shines here more than anything, making it just as wearable for a man. If I didn’t already spend a ton of money on perfumes lately, I’d be hunting down a full bottle of this right now. I snagged two little splash bottles of this on eBay and it’s a breathtaking scent. I would trade all my other rose perfumes for one bottle of this. Lovely for cold weather.

Interesting. I may be the only one but, this reminds me of church. My mother used to wear a rose perfume she bought from The Grotto. We went to Catholic Church a lot when I was a child. Oud Fleur triggers memories of my mother’s perfume mixing with the natural wood benches and incense from church. I miss my mom so I think I will treasure this. It does smell Turkish delight ish. I would say unisex. It is bold enough to be unisex. I think if it leaned just slightly more one way or the other it would either be too masculine or feminine. It’s Rose and oud, with some resins. Really good.

TF Oud Fleur opens with a beautiful combo of rose, sandalwood and amber and the scent becomes progressively subdued enough to let the soft oud emerge. To my nose Oud Fleur is an oriental scent and not at all linear. Oud Fleur is very similar to Estée Lauder's Amber Mystique, which I love. The notes are different but the result is surprisingly similar. Between the two I prefer the EL one because I find it more potent, but this TF remains a beautiful, unisex offering. If you like Oud Fleur but are on the fence because of the high price tag, check out Amber Mystique.

I'm no rose expert nor do I find it to be my favorite note amongst men's scents but this Oud Fleur fragrance has a nice kind of rose. The oud is soft while the rose is not the usual dry red rose kind. Have you ever walked around a rose garden and noticed the difference between various rose bushes? Have you ever smelled a rose, a darker rose where the aroma is fuller, juicier and seems more complex? That's what Ford seems to have here in this scent, a little incense-like and, yes, like the name implies-floral. Projects very well and lasts a good amount of time.

No discernible oud note to me at all, real or synthetic, even through the drydown. Not even much of a rose note, either. Pretty disappointed in this one. Nothing disagreeable, but not special at all. Update: Tried this again today and I got a whole different impression. The initial blast is of a kind of sour boozy resinous rose. Still not getting a distinct oud note but there is a woody note in this that is similar to Tobacco Oud which may be a very well blended (soft) oud. Much nicer and notable than I first thought.

Oud Fleur by TF This one, is ambrey Rose-Oud fragrance. This strongly reminds me of another fragrance by TF. Sahara Noir, the spicy amber fragrance. The key that make this fragrance smell beautiful. Is not oud, it is actually Resinous quality that similar to Rose in Cafe Rose. If you expect Oud, you will be unsatisfied. But if you expect Spicy Resinous Rose, this is. This will Fulfill your requirements. score 8/10 Projection Longevity Classification : Unisex, Homme (strongly balsamic) Summary : the spicy-resinous rose

Oud Fleur opens with a powdery Rose that quickly transitions into a dusty Rose on the verge of decay. Wrapped in an amalgamation of Spices, Resins, Earthy Patchouli, & Oud. The Spices smell like Cardamom, Cinnamon, Coriander, & Saffron. Oud Fleur goes on dark, & almost cold, even with its warm Spices & Resins. It smells like the air of a final dance between lost lovers among the Tombstones on Halloween Night. Its a haunting fragrance. Its everything that you'd expect from Tom Fords original Private Blend line up.

Heavy on the rose, less on the oud side and fairly linear. Maybe it should be called Fleur Oud instead. Blending rose and oud is one of the most difficult things to do in perfumery because too much oud overpowers anything that it comes into contact with. Oud Fleur is a good blend of some of my favourite notes, I can see how it would react differently to different people's skins. Overall, not the best rose-oud combo, a good unisex fragrance, but if you don't like rose then stay away.

This is a very good fragrance that reminds me a lot of Kilians Cruel Intentions. I did about 2 -1/2 sprays yesterday about 6:00 PM, and it's now 7:30 AM, and I can still catch whiffs of it here and there. For me though this is a little more on the feminine side of unisex. I will probably still wear it from time to time, but mostly at home to enjoy it, and enjoy it, I DO! This is very Sexy, a little playful, a little elegant. I would love to smell this on a Woman🥰

Racking my brain all day to figure out which other fragrance I have that smells like Oud Fleur and finally it came to me. Lattafa's Opulent Oud. They are very similar, being rose-forward fragrances (even though rose isn't listed as a note on the Opulent Oud page), they are both wonderful unisex scents. Thing is, Opulent Oud is $20, Oud Fleur is about $320. I need just two sprays of the Lattafa that lasts the entire day, versus four of the Tom Ford.

Very interesting! Maybe I am biased since I'm a little new to oud notes, but I like this one. It is a mysterious and dark dirty rose and wood scent. The floral note is so delicate and pretty underneath the rich woods and spices. It feels a bit ghostly because of the dry, pleasantly musty oud. It makes me imagine attending a seance in an old, haunted Victorian house. Very long lasting, but has soft projection and sillage.

@phenomenal... pretty sure TF has done this with all the private blends across the board, aside from the recent releases. NDN, TL, TV, Oud Wood to name a few have all been weakened I've noticed. It's especially noticeable in the recent batches of Tuscan Leathers I've tried. Sad and I absolutely agree, it's ridiculous they can charge the same price when the quality and potency are constantly being diminished.

I had first smelled this at Gatwick Airport in London. It was a bit hard to pin down the notes due to the air surrounding me, but I got it after I put some on my hand... Roses. The mix between roses and wood agar reminds me a bit of a garden in Duluth Minnesota, they out down mulch at the base of the rose bushes and you can smell that combination throughout the walk in the garden. This is a delightful scent!

Rich Velvet One of the smoothest perfumes I've experienced so far. Very soft oud, just a soupçon, to use a French turn of phrase, in a floral blend that may bring to mind a dark rose or a similarly dark pansy, plus the sandalwood somewhere in the background. Very elegant and distinguished! Something to wear to a formal occasion, to the opera perhaps, if and when that becomes a possibility again.

This scents makes you take a journey from a harsh animalic realistic oud smell where rose is barely smellable to a completely unisex fragrance where rose and sandalwood play the main role. I love how complicated and mature it is. It’s a fact that it may not be liked by some because of its dirty opening but despite that fact it’s still in my opinion one of the best scents released by Tom Ford

I was a little disappointed with this, perhaps I expected the same deep resinous punch as in Oud Wood, but alas no. It's more of a smokey sort of wood smell, that quickly changes into a rather spicy floral. And then before you know it, it just smells exactly like Café Rose (on my skin anyway). I love Tom Ford, but this was just 'ok'.

Im a sucker for all Tom Ford fragrances and this is no exception. It has a perfect balance of bitter musky oud with fresh but spicy rose. Might smell good on a woman, but oud always runs masculine to my nose. I only wish it lasted a little longer, especially for the price. Still a fantastic scent. I love it.

I usually loathe heavy rose in fragrances but this is just beautifully done. It's not the thick sickly rose, it's a bit sharper and cleaner. The oud is creamy and woody. Overall, I think it's quite sophisticated for both men and women. Night time in a black suit or black dress, cocktail in hand. Love it.

This is such an amazing rose-oud combo. Very similar to oud Ispahan and Indonesian oud but I honestly like the slightly more animalic smell of this one more than that of oud Isfahan and Indonesian oud. Really happy that I finally got a bottle. Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Projection: 8.5/10

Realistic rose, with some smokiness and woodiness, lightly animalic. I like this over other oud-rose combos because it's not overly sweet or cloying. True to its name and doesn't lean too far into either the oud or rose direction. Slightly masculine leaning due to it's dark nature.

Beautiful fragrance. Extremely well blended. Very strong initially but the dry-down is to die for. Just the perfect harmony between Rose and Oud. However at £140 for 50ml rather pricey, so go for Aramis Caligraphy Rose oud instead to achieve similar effect.

WOW, this perfume is stunning!! After about an hour, Oud Fleur starts to resemble Cafe Rose but without the coffee note. This fragrance is a must have for rose lovers. I am skipping the Cafe Rose and going straight for this one!!

Fascinating scent, great mix of flowers and oud, a bit sour in a good way. Great projection for very short time. Ridiculous longevity. I wish there was a scent like this one with usable performance.

A solid fragrance. Feels very substantial. Firm and well crafted. Seems best for evening or dress wear. Or luxurious casual wears (leather and fur). Manly balance of the notes. Rich.

If you're into rose and oud then this is your best bet.. it's beautifully made. Way better than oud ispahan.

Gorgeous rose and oud with a dirty patchouli. If you like Rose Prick or Cafe Rose, you will love this.

This is a nice spicy rose scent, very well done.

Nice, really nice. Reminds me of some of Montale's sounds, both in scent and strength, the florals reminds me of those in Dior Oud Ispahan but the ouds are not the same. This one is sharper (not in a bad way), not at all medicinal, and not dirty. Maybe a little smokey. I can see the relation to the Estee Lauder perfume but I don't think they are anywhere near dupes, especially when there are SO many ouds/oud-roses on the market. Not tremendously different but a quality oud, smells expensive. One thing that's interesting and noteworthy is that upon first spray, it smells EXACTLY like beer to me, with a hint of rose. This only lasts for a second and then it reminds me, instead, of wine. Not in a boozy way. Overall, it's a solid like but not a love because it's quite linear, a trait I don't prefer with oud scents, and I doubt I would buy a bottle simply because there are so many beautiful ouds out there and this one isn't cheap or amazing enough to spend that kind of money. I do really like the original TF oud because I find it more original, but this is certainly worth a try if you're looking for an oud rose. And that's the last thing, despite that combos extreme popularity, rose is far from being my favorite pairing with oud. I guess I never really got why rose is the go-to complementary note. I love oud so much more with just about anything BUT rose. It's just so overdone and tends to be linear or not very complex so to me, it's boring.

Trust the advertising on this one. It is what it says it is. It's a Tom Ford fragrance that smells strongly of oud and florals (well, roses). Sure, there are some other notes in there, but the name on this one is no lie. This is all oud and all floral. And it's got that Tom Ford DNA. And it's good. When I started my journey into fragrances, I was certain I did not like rose fragrances. In my mind they skewed too feminine. Over time I threw out the notion that fragrances are gendered and started wearing anything I enjoyed. And here is a great example of a rose scent that's not at all feminine. It's a dirty rose. The oud blends so nicely with the floral and makes it something dark and gothic and earthy. It's a good gateway fragrance for any guys out there who want to dip their toe into floral fragrances. I've worn this a handful of times now but have yet to buy a bottle. For me it just misses the mark of being worth the cost (even with some good, deep discounts). It's a bit similar to some other fragrances I own, and I suspect there are cheaper options in the oud/rose arena that I need to explore. But it's still a strong offering from Tom Ford. And who knows ... one day that discount may just be deep enough.

First I loved it. I do not typically enjoy all rose fragrances. They are of then too sweet and girly or screetchy and sharp. Someone mentioned that this rose is dirty. Exacly thats what it is. I do not normally overthink about matching my perfume to my outfit but today I was wearing all cotton clothes bit boho style but more in the shades of walking death and not flamboyant colorfull ones. I then felt like the parfume I was wearing (Oud Fleur) was smelling like old dried up roses like something from grandmas attic combined with the boho walking death color outfit. I felt like it was too much. Id probably pair this with something that does not look very boho at all because this perfume is already so boho. Othervice it is just too realistic and I will be perceived as one of grandmas things found in attic, also. I like it but it is a tricky one. Definitely a fall perfume.

Oud fleur. The initial blast is awesome but it's very misleading. This frag goes a totally opposite way from beginning to end. I have a few rose scents in my growing collection and this is my least favorite. Will I sell or spilt this, no. An abundance of Mr fords in the arsonel is never a bad thing, granted this will get worn maybe twice in the year. What I don't like is the dry down. It has this old lady stinky rose funk. Imagine a batch of roses in a vase, that sat there for a month with no fresh water added to them. 2 out of 5 is my rating for this. Looking for a crisp rose try declaration dun soir or a rose with personality oud ispahan. I can't see someone stopping me with this to throw a compliment my way.
