Oud Wood Intense

Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense opens with strong, deep, dark woody and leathery notes, very simple. Although potent, the fragrance feels of high quality, elegant, masculine, and modern. The oud and Castoreum are the most prominent notes. The juniper adds its woody, and slightly bitter tone, the ginger adds a spicy touch; the cypress a feels green, sharp and fresh; finally, the angelica adds more woody and early tones. The oud is strong but does not feel offensive or animalic. The Castoreum in the other hand, is an animalic and strong leathery note, the animalic accord serves as a booster but it is not offensive, on the opposite hand, the leathery note is also very strong, it has a soft gasoline-like vibe and it boosts the projection of the fragrance, but it is all well balanced. The combination of both oud and leather is strong, yet, it is pleasant, dry, very dark, and masculine. Once Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a strong projection, dark oud and leather fragrance with soft animalic, and spicy accords. The fragrance feels bold, classy, commanding, dark, earthy, elegant, exotic, expensive, formal, heavy, high-quality, imposing, leathery, masculine, mature, mysterious, nicely-blended, nocturnal, powerful, resinous, refined, slightly smoky, sophisticated, strong, warm, woody and very pleasant. Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense. I struggle to pick a number one from this house. It's between this one and Tobacco Oud Intense for me, and it all comes down to my mood and what I feel like wearing that day. If I want something more complex, sweeter, and warmer, I'll say it's TOI. If I am in the mood for something dry and butch, it'd say this beauty right here. As so many have already mentioned, there is no common ground that this perfume and the original Oud Wood share. Perhaps the mother brand. This fragrance could have been named "Aromatic Leather" or something along those lines, as the two facets are most prominent to my nose. Aromatic qualities in the opening, dry leather for the most part, dry woods, sweaty musks, and to my surprise, a good amount of salty and inky oakmos in the base. It feels rather monolithic, although there are some clear transitions from the top to the base. The opening is very aromatic and calls back some old-school men's colognes. Juniper, cloves, and ginger abound. Later, the beautiful cypress joins in. Shortly after the initial burst, the leather creeps in and stays throughout. I'd imagine the castoreum works to define most of this leather accord. It feels like an Oriental take on leather, somewhere between refined and rough, smoky and musky, with an intoxicating allure. It is a dark but mysterious perfume. The woods are there, although I wouldn't scream "Agarwood" at the smell of it. It comes across as fumigating wood, therefore, I believe part of the traditional incense-burning bakhoor is showcased through it - a leather garment infused with bakhoor smoke. In the later stages, I get this constant creamy and salty muskiness that pairs with an equally salty, bitter, and inky oakmoss. It lingers on the skin and clothes for days and smells incredibly enticing. The overall experience is bone dry, with no sweetness whatsoever, with plenty of leather, wood, smoke, musks, and earthy-aromatic facets. I understand why this perfume doesn't appeal to so many Tom Ford fans, as it stands alone among the other releases from the house. It is a pure androgynous beauty, and those who like them butch and assertive, as well as those who love Leather-Orientals, will find much to appreciate here. I know I love it. IG:@memory.of.scents

Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense is a significant misnomer, as the fragrance does not correlate with the original Oud Wood all that much. However, it is a great fragrance that merits smelling and enjoying wholly apart from the Oud Wood that preceded it by a decade. Oud Wood Intense is mainly an animalic woody leather sort of fragrance, the mix of cypress and oud being almost taken over by the additive of castoreum that most dramatically separates it not only from the original Oud Wood but also from the rest of the Private Blend collection through 2018. The castoreum fosters a sort of "dry leather" smell that more or less characterizes my experience of the entire fragrance. In this respect it feels masculine and boastful while being slightly sophisticated, as well; it contains just the right amount of an animalic leaning that it works quite well to satisfy an interest in leather without being too oud-intensive or borderline fecal. At the time of its release in late 2017, Oud Wood Intense (and Tobacco Oud Intense, simultaneously) joined FF and Neroli Portofino Forte at the higher price point of $310 (now $320) per 50ml, with only the re-release of Bois Marocain having been higher at that point ($330 in 2016). So it may seem like a steep price for the juice, but it's available on secondary markets like FragranceNet, where a 50ml is at $227 with the 30% off coupon. Its performance is excellent, as well, just a tad bit behind the beasts of the line like TV, TL, NDN, AA, etc. It's also perhaps the strongest Private Blend that isn't at least somewhat sweet, either (another example being Italian Cypress). Overall, Oud Wood Intense is a great option, not the superlative offering that I regarding NDN, TV, and AA as, but still, one or two notches below that. Really excellent juice. 9 out of 10

'Oud Wood' is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and everyone's invited - this woody-creamy compliment-educer is a true modern classic that helped mightily in putting the word 'oud' on the olfactory map. Stumbled across it (along with 'Tuscan Leather " and "Tobacco vanilla") is the first thing everyone who tackles Ford's impressive collection of fragrances does. But what can the new Intense variant do? Turns everything up to 11, my friends at Spinal Tap would say. "Oud Wood Intense" is an almost completely new fragrance. Unlike many other representatives, the word intense fits here remarkably well. While the original is pleasing and gentle, and hardly wants to be called a serious oud fragrance, "OWI" rocks towards the night without brakes. He's a lot harder to carry, has a lot more balls than his father. Almost a real rebel. Animalistic, surprisingly leathery, surprisingly potent. And the latter was the original. But the new master Ford is a black beast. FC Bayern Munich for Real Madrid, the fire bull for the last unicorn, Voldemort for young Potter, Sauron for the Shire, Harvey Weinstein for aspiring actresses. If you like the rest of Ford's crackers and like it a little heartier, you're welcome to nip your wallet. Nevertheless, I would always go for the original, because I also want to wear my perfumes and my celebration years are mostly over. Bottle: just as outrageously stylish as the prices are outrageously expensive. Sillage: kicks out like a horse - darker, stronger, harder. Durability: puts the thing in double digits - it stuck to me for 10 hours. My vote 10,10

GODDAMN YOU TOM FORD, YOU SLEEK DEVIL! I CAN'T AFFORD THIS! Rarely would I use the word masterpiece about a fragrance, but I will about this one. Being a lover of 'fuck you and the nostrils you rode in on' fragrances, Oud Wood Intense is right up my alley. It's harsh, it's animalic, it smells a bit like burnt rubber, and it's absolutely delightful. Tom Fords Fragrances are hit or miss for me: Anthracite is horrible, his whole blue line is rather boring, the Original Oud Wood is very, very, very nice, but not for the price. But Oud Wood Intense is something else entirely. It's in a league of it's own. I have a policy of never spending several hundred bucks on a fragrance, I'm simply either too poor or too stingy for such a frivolous expense. Only twice have I been tempted to break that policy - once by Green Irish Tweed which smells exceedingly pleasant - and once by Oud Wood Intense which smells exceedingly fucking fantastic. As should be obvious from what I wrote above, I don't own, have never owned and will probably never own a bottle of Oud Wood Intense, and as such, I have absolutely no business writing a review for it... But Damnit, I wan't more of this scent in the world!!! So if you're less of a penny pincher than me, you owe it to yourself to try this out (don't blind buy it, it's not for everyone). Hopefully you'll love it. Hopefully you'll buy it. And hopefully you'll wear it near me, so I can inhale your skin and I can get my fix vicariously till I win the lottery.

I was very happy to see the reviews saying that Oud Wood Intense was nothing like Oud Wood. I am very much in the minority on Oud Wood. I love oud and I love wood, but after trying Oud Wood several times over the years and have to admit that it just does not do anything for me. One day I will try it again. Fast forward to present day, and I ordered a sample of Oud Wood Intense based on the notes and the reviews saying it is nothing like the original Oud Wood. And I an VERY glad I did! OWI has a very heavy and dark opening. almost like a heavy leather or an electrical fire on my skin. For the first 2 hours I get a very dark, heavy and intense scent. Not for the faint of heart. I see this scaring off many people. If you like clean / fresh / lighter scents, you are probable not going to like this one, but I absolutely loved it this phase. After a few hours OWI moves into what I am calling dry down deliciousness! Castorium and Oud in a sexy dance inside a dark club filled with smoke and plush leather furniture. I get good projection and longevity on my skin. Unfortunately I do not get the beast mode that others have reported. That is a shame. :-( While OWI is listed as Unisex, it leans more masculine to my nose. OWI works well in either casual or formal attire. Bottom line: If you are looking for a crowd pleaser or a massive compliment getter, stay with Oud Wood. If you like heavy, dark and sensual scents, you should try a sample of this.

This shouldn't be a scent that I like. It's strong, acrid, completely dry and devoid of sweetness, but it became my easy reach fragrance in winter. I find it such a warming and comfortable scent, evocative of smouldering coals. The opening has a similar cleaner/disinfectant note to the original Oud Wood, that balances out the heavier bitter vegetal elements in the base. Combined with camphorous facets of cypress and fir, I find the scent reminiscent of Chinese medicinal balms, which is perhaps why I associate the scent with safety and comfort. Coming back to the oud/disinfectant note, just like Oud Wood, it adds class to distinguish it from other heavy animalic 80s powerhouse fragrances. I find the scent has a lot more personality than it's predecessor, which feels sterile and 'nice' in comparison. As the drydown continues, the scent becomes increasingly animalic as the castoreum reveals itself. This is no leather scent, it's a real scent of savoury body odour. Yet, I don't find it offensive at all, balanced against the slightest camphor and vegetal character. The scent lasts easily over 12 hours on skin and projects very well. It's easily my favourite Tom Ford fragrance, and one that has taught me to branch out into heavier animal notes like castoreum (however, I still find Overture Man extremely rank).

This fragrance.. .. is absolutely unapologetic, burns my nose hair, is one of the strongest perfumes I've smelled recently, is abrasive, is like your uncle that shows up once a year to family gatherings - drunk and with a cigarette in his mouth only to disappear back into his house in the woods after, might just be one of the most repulsive things you've smelled recently, chops wood and repairs heavy machines by itself, is probably a good gasoline substitute, is ready to hurt you and doesn't care about it, is chest hair in a bottle, doesn't let you wear it - it wears you, doesn't know what laughing means, will automatically grab a leather jacket for you once you spray it, will swear at you, feels uneasy, stares aggressively at your family and kids, is the "bad cop" in the TF Oud Wood realm, is an alcohol and nicotine addict, is pain in a bottle, might just be one of the most bitter things ever to be used as perfume, will crack some necks on the street, takes what it wants and doesn't ask, will make you suffer, doesn't ask questions because it only makes statements, gives you an opinion whether you ask for it or not, will make you apologize even if you're right, makes mistakes but doesn't care and continues with life, is pure pain, abrasiveness, harmfulness and bad decisions in a bottle. 5/5, love it

Just tried a decant for the first time. Honestly the first 15 minutes I got a bit of the animalic and a good amount of the cypress. Which surprised me so early on. After the first 15 minutes I started getting more of the smoke, maybe a little mint in an effervescent way, and some of that rubber. My wife didn’t like it on me at all from 15-45 minutes. What it’s settled into (which my wife likes) is the smoke, ink, and brutality of the first 45’ish minutes of BeauFort London Coeur de Noir before that settles down to a very solid leather scent. That first 45 minutes of the BeauFort is the niche “take it or leave it a*hole” part of that fragrance before the dry down, but that part IS the dry down of OWI. It’s naughty, it’s dirty, it most likely won’t be a crowd pleaser to the people who aren’t already predisposed to liking you, but that’s kind of the F You bit we all want to find in something from a house more niche than this (like BeauFort) and I’m here for it. **update** Now that I have a bottle of Antaeus... this REALLY reminds me of the opening of that scent. A LOT. Now that I’m used to the more powerhouse 80s scents this calls to mind some of them and I love it even more. Not for the faint of heart but this scent is an absolute genius at calling to mind the big scents of yore.

The biggest injustice people bestow on this fragrance is smelling it from the bottle and not trying it on skin. I tried this numerous times from the bottle whenever I visited the Tom Ford counter in my Nordstrom. Always got turned off by this vile, animalistic scent that made me feel like I was a truck dirver fixing the engine of my truck in a desert while I was parked over the corpse of an animal. Today I finally got a sample and wore it on skin. And oh my lord what a beautiful fragrance this is. On skin, this doesn't have any of the medicinal traits of Oud Wood which made me hate it. Instead it has a light, musky metallic tone added to it. The angelica is also prominent which ever so slightly reminds me of Creed Spice and Wood. Oud Wood Platinum would be a better name for this fragrance. This is only Oud Wood Intense when smelled from the bottle. On skin this is a refined, muskier, lightly metallic, and more floral Oud Wood. Would reccomend this one over the original any day. Get it before it's discontinued like Tobaco Oud Intense. EDIT: I just wore this again and now I know why I love the dry down so much. The dry down of Oud Wood Intense is basically a more smokey and less balsamic version of Jubilation XXV's dry down. Castoreum is one hell of a note

Worn this twice now and it's not made a massive impression on me to be honest. I like it, and it's interesting to see these 'Intense' versions released within the Tom Ford Private blend line. I never really understood the masses of praise heaped on the original Oud Wood, it's okay but weirdly aloof and medicinal for such, across the board praise, I would've thought. Guess I'm wrong again. This Intense version is not a heightened version of the original and I for one am glad, to say it's not even remotely similar isn't strictly true because a hint of the accord pokes it's head out when it settles. This is probably due to the oud component being similar. Oud Wood Intense however is a much more rubbery and authentic mixed woody affair, with an opening of cypress and animal notes. It's a moody scent but never dark, more cuddly and drying down to a kind of leather smell perhaps with hints of tobacco? Is this going to be as popular as the original...I doubt it and suspect some might not even enjoy it at all, but there can be no doubt what we have here is another high quality edition to the Tom Ford line. I mentioned I've worn it twice and would definitely wear it again, perhaps I will fall for it then who knows. Worth a sniff though for sure.

Oud and castoreum combine with the remaining notes to make an animalistic and petroleum-touched black leathery smell. It is not thick and dense like Black Afgano, but more "open" and airy especially in the dry-down. I think the juniper and ginger add notable spice to it as well. It's super dark and masculine with undeniable beast mode performance! Oh boy do I love me some loud perfumes XD This is a tough one. It's not a mass appealing scent, and a number of people will be honestly turned off by it, however it is probably in the top 5 of everything I own or have sampled. You must try before you buy. I tested two separate samples extensively and they really stood out in both uniqueness and compliments! Personally, I was in awe of it from first sniff (immediate strong black leather smell to my olfactory). It is allegedly a limited edition. If I had the money to blow I would have been crazy enough to get the 250ml flacon. For me it's a masterpiece, and I would be sad without it in my collection. I've spent some time searching for amazing leather fragrances, and this one is the ultimate "black leather" smell for me thus far. I layer this with Tuscan Leather occasionally for a darkly sweet, super rich leather smell. It's incredible stuff

I own most of popular Tom Ford fragrances, I have to say this one's performance and projection is beast mode. It's saturated and confident, incorporating zingy aromatics like cypress, juniper, and angelica, but also the growling animalics of Tuscan Leather for a powerful statement. Very manly scent. It is a very anmalic, patrol/leathery, dirty, spicy and oudy fragrance. It has no resemblance to oud wood at all. It is it's own scent entirely. This is right now my number one cologne in my collection due to its uniqueness, performance, longevity and compliments. I have been wearing this on weekends when I go clubbing, for the last three weeks and I am constantly getting compliments. I should say it definitely goes with darker guys with beard. Wear your jeans, white muscle t-shirt and a leather jacket and you are good to go with this fragrance. Be prepared to keep girls off your neck all night long. I am telling you I got over 20 compliments in one night, I was shocked myself, because this fragrance is funky, strong and the castoreum and the spicy notes are very strong in this one but for some reason works amazing on my skin. This is definitely my "BAD BOY" cologne.

Some how I finally got a bottle for under about $180 to my shock...this fragrance is a luxury I thought I wasn’t going to ever get the chance to partake of, I had always kept an eye out for a bottle but they were elusive. It is bittersweet knowing when this bottle is gone, it probably will never get replaced, so in some ways while I wear it and still have most of my bottle, I am already mourning its loss...because it is a masterpiece. This isn’t a scent to bury your nose in, let it float around you and you are rewarded with a realistic leather aroma like walking into a Tack and Western Wear shop in Texas. I find it to have all of its edges honed like polished flint, or a well worn saddle...and the notes blended in so smooth, what hovers in the air is quite sophisticated and ‘well-dressed’...I like to think maybe Tom Ford put a little bit of our shared home state of Texas in this one. Like Patchouli Absolu, this is from the great golden era of TF that seems to in its twilight, a retro-modern hyper masculine tributes to the 70’s that when gone will be immortalized in the minds of those who were fortunate to have worn them.

Oud Wood Intense is, to me, the better of the 2 Oud Woods. It is a richer, deeper scent of woods with a more prominent oud note compared the original Oud Wood. It starts pretty good with a good dose of oud & as it drys down, there is a phase where it smells very similar to the original Oud Wood, although transiently only. At the dry down, your are left with this woody green oud scent that's rich & beautiful. It smells like a forest of oud, cypress, & juniper trees. The cypress & juniper here are really prominent. One can describe the scent as a woody oud-sandalwood combo, despite the lack of sandalwood in the notes. If you are looking for a green, oudy fragrance, Oud Wood Intense is a good candidate. If you are looking for a really oudy fragrance, than Oud Wood Intense is not something I'd recommend first, as the fragrance is equal parts oud & green notes (cypress/juniper). Overall, good release scent-wise from Tom Ford. However, given the ridiculous price, I'll pass on it for something else.

After more then a year I sprayed this bad boy on my wrist and oh my.. this has changed and changed for the positive!!! Where in the first few times I could only smell dry leather I cab smell the whole composition now!! And now this is indeed oud wood but "intense" That base of oud wood is still here, creamy woody base but here you find that castoreum kinda accord very strong in the opening, dries down more to a aromatic leather but bitter without that smooth vanilla of the OG . And still somehow that spiciness from the OG is here but also not can't explain... but today i really can relate these 2 bad boys to each other finally it makes sense.. which was important for me because i was about to sell this rare item.. now? Helll no this is amazing. Definitely a stronger perfume as well. It calls the adventures version of yourself and the naughty version as well. Where the OG is smooth this is a wild beast without any excuse.. and that's how you should wear this! 10/10 for me!

I love it. This one is all about smoke and leather. This is close to the Oud Wood batch that I have with its smoky resinous and leathery complexion. The only difference is that my beloved Oud Wood gets rounder and creamier and heads in the direction of 24 Rue. Sadly, I haven't been able to find another bottle quite like it. All the other formulations I've been trying lately have been way too sweet for my taste. Oud Wood Intense on the other hand is just magical, Tom Ford simply took all the dark aspects of the original and concentrated on amping up the intensity but with such a cultivating and much more masculine approach. Hence, the name. To me, it kinda smells like a hybrid of Oud Wood and Noir Anthracite. I don't really find this animalic nor fecal, it's just overall dark, woody and coniferous. I pick up on a lovely combination of cloves and cypress, so there's also a hint of Vintage Italian Cypress in the composition, another beloved of mine.

Opening notes of a mystical feeling nutmeg: spicy, mysterious, warm and fruity, calling to mind a deep magical purple. After a few minutes, the nutmeg dies down, though it never truly leaves. It is replaced by a smooth, refined Oud, with just a slight touch of skankyness - like the intimate body odour of a man you’ve spent the day in bed with. Over the day, that skankyness mellows and acts like a comforting blanket of strength. Decent projection, good sillage and amazing longevity - this for me sits up there with the likes of Tuscan Leather, Tobacco Oud and Tobacco Vanille. I have not owned the original Oud wood, but I have sampled it a few times and I find the addition on nutmeg and extra woods to elevate this one over the original. Wearing it, I have conjured into my mind a dark, magical forest somewhere in Italy. This is definitely one to buy if you get a chance!

A well performing and well crafted scent. Oud Wood Intense is leathery and with a distinctive, ever-present oud note. For me it is masculine and bold while also conveying some class. There are some some woody/herbal notes in that background that soften the composition and add that sense of class to the scent, I think this is the juniper and cypress. The ginger is faint but when I smell my arm the hint of spice from the ginger is there and makes a nice well rounded composition. I enjoy this fragrance and it is more of a cold weather scent and one for special occasions, perhaps a bit too bold for work and everyday use. In my opinion it is well suited to a man of 35 years plus. Performance is great and it easily lasts all day on my skin with very good projection. I'm happy to have tried Oud Wood Intense. 9/10. I'm very happy to have tried it.

Suggestion: Can we, as the world biggest fragrance community, step up and visit ifra or Tom ford? Or maybe both:p? And ask them politely to bring back all the good stuff like; Tobacco oud, tobacco oud intense, oud wood intense, plum japonais etc.... And also make all the private blend stronger like the used to be! Because it hasn’t been that long ago (2018/2019) that I sprayed oud wood and it lasted about a week on my clothing. And of course I’m not even talking about the first batches (2007/2014), those were like spraying pure perfume oil:p. Or the first time I sprayed Tuscan leather, never forget it had a sillage round 18 hours..... I really miss those moments... Ps.... Of course I would like to see this for more brands and perfumes like Gaultier2, Dior homme intense, Dior homme parfum, bvlgari pour homme etc.....

I will agree with Yalcin05 (read his review for a similar and more in-depth insight) and many others below. Fresh out the bottle, this was a nuclear castoreum cardboard-y catastrophe. However, over time this has become the sexiest version of oud wood (among all the other takes on the DNA) that I have ever smelled. I had a backup new bottle that I now just sprayed for the sake of this experiment and even side by side it smells very different from the one that has matured (my brother thought they were completely different fragrances!). Talk about aging like wine. This DOES smell very similar to the OG and the name is so fitting for this masterpiece. It has this light sweetness now and it's even inoffensive enough for me to start wearing in more general audiences than I used to.

INTENSE. For me an absolute stunner and one of my favorite Oud fragrances period. It is loud. It is boss. It does not back off. It is in your face. It is going to get noticed. It is sassy. It is sexy. It is hands down a masterpiece by Tom Ford. I get that it is animalic. It is also SO MUCH MORE. There is not a scent I have ever smelled like this scent. As laid back as Oud Wood is, this is the exact opposite. It never stops. It is spicy and hot. It must be worn by the confident and those who are not afraid to ROCK something outside the norm. I hope you will ROCK it. Why it is discontinued is beyond me. I have found some online, expensive. I have taken the plunge and I am totally in LOVE with this fragrance. My wife LOVES it too, TRUST me, it is a BOSS SCENT!!

I finally got my nose on this flanker. This is indeed different from it's legendary counterpart. I agree with other reviewers. Quite dark and there is certainly leather. I find the original oud wood to be sweeter after comparing them. Oud wood is more versatile then the intense version. If you ask me, oud wood is unisex where as the intense is masculine. A fantastic scent that definitely lasts! I still smell it on the blotter card I sprayed it on yesterday afternoon (it's the next day in the evening) not as potent, but certainly toned down enough to know that it is there. Tom Ford is definitely going in the right direction with some of these intense flankers. Perhaps his next intense version could be one off his Verte lineup.

This juice in Canada is $395 (without tax). Same goes with Tobacco Oud Intense. Enough to scare some people away. My verdict has always been, that if you like the scent, appreciate it enough, and ultimately consider yourself wearing this throughout the course of your life, then it's worth dropping some serious coin for it. I have not smelt either, but I have a 10 ml decant of TOI on it's way. I have smelt Oud Wood, and I really do like it. Although I'd have to agree with most people here, that is already intense enough. As well, you could spend more money on fragrances to have a small collection of ones you absolutely love, rather than purchase many upon many other fragrances just for the sake of trying them out.

Original Oud Wood wearing a tough biker's leather jacket. The heavy leather almost snuffs out the Oud Wood in a strong harsh animalic castoreum base accented with some petrol, cigarette smoke and tar. This stuff is all of the dark notes in the original Oud Wood cranked up to 11 with just enough of the lingering elements of the original to be identifiable as a member of the family. Not for the faint of heart, but perfect on a cold winter evening. I absolutely love it; so (of course) it seems to have been discontinued. If you happen across a bottle, try to get a sniff of it. Oud Wood Intense is well worth checking out (if only as a reminder of what a truly hard core leather scent is like). Recommended.

A very nice masculine scent, main accord of Cypress, Ginger, and some Castoreum and woody notes in the background, has just the right amount of animalic going to keep things interesting, there isn't any off-putting Oud to be found, nothing medicinal, barnyard, or fecal type stuff here. The far dry down reminiscent of Y EDP due to the Juniper and Ginger. This is beast mode on my skin, last over 12hr with great projection and sillage, i can still get a whiff of it 24hr later. Way better performance than the Tobacco Oud Intense. 3 sprays max or I'd get choked out. This is a classy and gentleman fragrance that you can wear all year round. 100ml Batch code A49 (April 2019)

This took me a while. Not love at first sniff. I am not a big fan of Oud Wood and personally think everything else in the Oud line stands out over it so I wasnt sure what to expect with this. Animalic, animalic, animalic. Imagine an oil spill over a leather jacket while people around you are smoking. This has the same dry, almost ashy Oud that Oud Mineral has. It is combined with a realistic dirty leather covered in something oily. There are a few minutes in the mid that a clean mint peaks through but then leaves again. The dry down definitely smooths out alot and becomes a little sweeter. Overall, I really enjoy and think its much better than the original.

wow the more I hate the normal Oud Wood, the more I love Oud Wood Intense! Blends like Oud Wood Intense or Patchouli Absolu are what make me stay with Tom Ford. I feel like the intention of naming this ‘Oud Wood Intense’ is just to leverage on the mass commercial success of Oud Wood to back up the sale of this new masterpiece! To me Oud Wood Intense is very similar to LV’s Ombre Nomade, but without all the annoying fruity floral notes, and without the obnoxious flashy sillage! Oud Wood Intense is almost perfect, the only set back is the disproportionate price tag, I don’t think its price point matched the positioning of Tom Ford as a brand.

For all the reviews touting the animalic intensity of Oud Wood Intense, I find it to be a tamer relative of Tauer L'Oudh. The latter has an eye-watering leather-gasoline opening, while this one is gentler and a bit warmer/spicier due to the castoreum. They both dry down to lovely dry smoky woods, though again OWI is warmer while L'Oudh is bone-dry. I've always enjoyed L'Oudh but have found it to be too much to wear among those who haven't descended into olfactory madness as I have. Oud Wood Intense is the perfect solution to that problem! Very wearable I think, especially after the first hour or so once it calms down.

Love at first sniff. This is an entirely new fragrance having precious little in common with Oud Wood. Along with Gucci Guilty Absolute, this is one of my new favorite discoveries of 2018. For me, this is petrol-leather bliss, which begs the question: Why can't M. Demachy and company find a way to bring back a bit more of the original / vintage magic to today's Fahrenheit?? :) ETA: and I’m also completely mystified why so many reviews mention this as being heavy on castoreum - I’m not getting much, if any of that here. I do agree w/ others that this reminds me somewhat of Bel Ami.

I love to see new releases like this. I was excited to try this and Tobacco Oud Intense. This is bold and brash but I honestly thought it would be more unpleasant judging off reviews. It's animalic/skanky notes are soft and tame with the smoke and leather being mainly it. I can't help but think this is.... 50% John Varvatos Dark Rebel 40% Rebel Rider 10% Animalic notes Im a little bumbed its not what i expected. It is extremely powerful, and 1 little puff from a mini sampler lasted hours and hours, but I can't justify the cost as it's expensive even amongst the private line.

Hands down the most underrated Tom Ford currently on sale next to Patchouli Absolu. This is the best black leather jacket/night out fragrance I think I’ve ever come across. It smells completely masculine and daring but in a high end way that is simultaneously not overdone or snobbish in any way. It smells like hot sex. The act of sex itself. Sweat on bodies and nothing being held back. There is nothing sweet in this, there is nothing that comes across as feminine or unisex or metrosexual. This is masculine all the way, but in a modern worldly way. Very rare.

This is a beastly, hyper-masculine fragrance. If you seek woods, this checks the box. I am new to Tom Ford fragrances, and from the few that I have tried, I am happy with them. They are simple, get to the point quick, and shout high from the rooftop. Oud Wood Intense is very strong! With a moderate three sprays, I was getting complements with only one foot in the door. I had no idea that I was projecting so intensely. Being a fan of Royal Oud, I set out on a mission to aquire masculine, woody scents, and I hit a home run on this one. 9/10

As others have said: this smells nothing at all like Oud Wood. It's super animalic & aggressive--and not for everyone. The castoreum component is NO JOKE. Least unisex scent of all Tom Ford frags--if not of all time. You do not want to smell this on a lady. Visual image evoked: a werewolf, high on coke, in a leather jacket, pissing wildly onto a tire fire, outside of an auto-repair shop. If you like the scent of an auto-garage, here ya go. It's hardcore, piercing, alpha. Not a blind buy. I like it---a lot! (Girlfriend hates it.) :-)

This was another perfume my male friend was testing on skin, I can see why some might find it challenging at first, but the general waft once it's dried down was utterly gorgeous to my nose, definitely one of my favourites among men's perfumes. Then again, I do love leather and smoky notes, in my own perfumes too. I found this quite sexy, and refined. If you find it a little strong it's probably best either sparingly applied, or an hour or so before leaving the house. Sillage and longevity excellent

This is the kind of fragrance that can make wealthy middle aged ladies clutch their pearls as you walk by It really is something else entirely The notes listed are accurate, though it could be distilled even further to simply Castoreum, Angelica and Cypress Animalic black oily leather and bracing aromatic herbs, with a touch of green sweetness and freshness I love this, became one of my favorite Tom Fords instantly after a single wear Performance is exceptional Slightly reminds of Antaeus 10/10

ONE spray to the wrist is more than enough to enjoy OWI all day and into the evening. Probably the next day too. So get yourself a decant and enjoy it for years. For me, I don't even need to apply this one to skin; just spraying my shirt cuff once is enough to enjoy it all day long.12 hours after applying to my sleeve, my girlfriend was complaining that I smelled like ass that evening, and she could smell it from arm's length away. 'Tis indeed the second-best ass I ever buried my nose in.

Love Reading all these reviews describing how masculine this fragrance is and I'm here ultra feminine rocking my oud wood intense! I am not going to repeat what's already been said repeatedly, so basically what does it for me is the smokiness, dryness, intensity, and smoothness. Definitely not for everyone, you have to be prepared to have all eyes on you because it's polarising and in your face, I love it, my favourite along with ombre leather, tobacco vanille and santal royal

Incredibly concentrated sexual leather/woody scent. Not great for casual environments but I look forward to wearing this when I get dressed up for a wedding or anywhere else I'd be in a suit. For hunks with deep pockets and low body fat percentage, for me its a really aspirational scent. I would really struggle paying for this again, so will likely get something else to replace this when it runs out (so concentrated I've only gone through half my 100ml in 5 years). 10/10

This is my second review of this. Nearly a year has passed since the last review. I recommend giving this one a second look if you do not like it immediately. I smelled it again about a year later and love it. I hated it before. Perhaps it was a climate thing. I've since moved from a hot, humid climate to a cool, dry climate. Oud and cypress dominate for me now. Before, I smelled gasoline. Really odd. Anyway, this is now one of my favorite Tom Ford fragrances.

So, I got a decant for testing this one out. I got decants from all the private blends from Tom Ford. First; it reminded me of the dry down of Dior Homme Parfum. Smokey/sweet/ash-y (no iris obviously) but powdery. I can’t get DHP out of my head when is smell this. The scent is nothing like the original Oud Wood. This is potent and not for the beginner noses. If you like ash smoke and sweetness this is the one for you. But as always! Decant first!!!!!

Oh My! What a sensational fragrance. Tried it at the local store today (about 4 hours ago) and have not stopped sniffing the wrist since then. Elegant and classy. Refined and calming. The word Intense is there but I do not find it strong or over projecting. What's intense is the Price! As @De Oratore wrote - I can't justify the price for 50 ml. If it was for the 100 ml - maybe (MAYBE) I might have thought about it BUT just too expensive for me.

It took me a bit to get this scent, it’s dark, bold, strong. It veers off a different path from the traditional version of oud wood. It’s heavily masculine, picture leather jacket , Harley vibes. It could be off putting to some due to the castoreum and oud taking the main stage in the very strong way. Definitely recommend if you can get your hands on it however prices have increased for the vintage batches still around.

Got this because I love the Oud Wood and the Tobacco Oud Intense I really wanted wasn’t available. It isn’t what I expected at all. Almost totally leather scent, it hardly has the Oud Wood scent at all. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a good perfume. I still love it in its own way. I enjoy layering it with Oud Wood to add the original sweetness I love. Also Vanille Fatele does wonders to the combination.

The first time I sampled Oud Wood Intense I was glad that I already owned a bottle of Tuscan Leather because I wouldn't be forced to choose between the sharp, fresh-spilled gasoline & harsh new leather smell of TL and the dark, rubbery, dried tar, aged oil barrel & worn leather scent of OWI..but months later here I am trying to swap my 95% full bottle of TL for OWI. As the perfume display turns..

Smells like a mix between Gucci Guilty Absolute, Oud Minerale, and Ombre Leather 16. I hate all 3 of those, but for some reason i dig this. I don't see it getting any compliments at all, but it's great to wear just for yourself. Still not as good as Tuscan Leather, and it's incredibly overpriced, so I probably won't be buying it unless i find a really good deal at some point

Completely different than Oud Wood... I get smoke, leather and coal! Take a piece of natural charcoal and pour some water on it, that's the main note here (wet charcoal) then you get leather and some angelica like the one in Bois d'orage. Crazy strong stuff, nothing sweet at all and I actually seriously like this one! I think I'm getting me a bottle.

Have the Oud Wood and just got a chance to sample this. This over the regular OW without a doubt. So much more depth, and the castoreum what it was missing. it's like when you hear people go on about how the vintage of a scent was that much more deep and complex, bla bla bla... This is it, Oud Wood Intense is like that vintage version of Oud Wood.

Got 3 new ones today, Dior homme, Tom Ford noir extreme and this, this is hands down the beast and the best. I have sprayed all 3 on me but the sheer power of this overwhelms them and i am in a heavenly bubble, glad i read it’s discounted as i will use it for special occasions. Already had compliments just going to my local shops

Love it. Wonderfully animalic, in a smooth and non-dirty way. Sexy, elegant, dark, deep and round. Leathery, balsamic, almost even a bit tarry and smoky, without smelling like the typical tar that is reminiscent of grilled hot dogs. Does not smell like rubber on my skin and to my nose. Love it to bits!
