Oud Wood Parfum

I got a bottle for $230. Expensive? Yes. It is pretty much at the price limit I am willing to pay for this. Still a great deal considering Oud Wood is my all time favorite colder weather DNA. Also considering Carved Oud and OW EdP are usually in the $180 price range on discounters I would say up to 250 is a good price range for this. It is similar to the original DNA, but more refined and actually last longer and has solid projection. The EdP is so butchered at this point it only last 2-3 hours and it is skin scent after 30 min. This one does not have that issue. It is pretty much the OG as it was intended to be. Now sure we can hate on the company for ultimately releasing the OG as it was intended and charging double (MSRP) however if we only judge it by its scent, the scent itself is just so amazing, it is a must for anyone for loves this DNA. If I could make an analogy to that, imagine drinking generic brand cola from the dollar store all your life, thinking they are all the same. So OWP is coca cola. It is cola as it was intended to be. Now carved oud is great too. It is slightly different let's say it is Pepsi. If I had to rank them based on scent alone I would put 1) TF OWP / OG OW 2) Carved Oud 3) Kredo 4) OW EdP I get the low rating, but it is mostly for the price, the scent it self is superior, 10/10. It is Oud Wood, but more polished, more creamy, more velvety, and more importantly it lasts.

This one really is something tom ford should be ashamed for. I have a 2015 and 2022 batch of the OG. While most people complain about longevity mine is stellar, with just ok projection.. but this fella is not like that, and ni its not like the intense version that one is really another perfume. This one is similar but the opening is somewhat more intens and pungent.. like sonething fresh screechy sharp i dont kbow but fhat keeps for a 10 15 mins, and then turns in to the og territory, while its a bit warmer after that 15 min. In the drydown compared to the original its bit more sweet and bit more thicker, the smell is bit deeper and the layers are bit more noticeable. All in all great, but coming back to performancez this one projects good for the firet 2 hours then becomes close to the skin and faded away in 5 hours mark. So it needs time like my other bottles of the OG. As i tested trough a sample bottle from a very trusted source i csnt talk about bottle performance specislly after maceration. But if this is the performance for a price of 400€ 50ML... then tom ford really should be ashmed for using oud woods name to rip people off!

Oud Wood Parfum is a fuller-bodied, dense and creamier version of the traditional Oud Wood. I would say it is an oud for those who don't like oud, in other words, an oud for 'beginners'. It's a woody/spicy slightly creamy and powdery scent. The cardamom here adds a spicy, warm and slightly camphorous aspect to the composition, along with an easy and soft airy Oud with a creamy but not lactonic sandalwood, a lil bit powdery with a hint of dry and 'woody' patchoulli. This is very elegant and mature perfume (35+ well dressed) and in my opinion, the Parfum version it's way better than the traditional, which has currently lost a lot in performance... Beautiful perfume that fits perfeclty for special occasions and also for the office enviroment on important meetings. To people complaining that there is no 'push', let me remind you: this is a parfum! It's no supposed to fill the room, this is not for the young boys, tiktokers and those who want to get everyones attention. It's more of a low-profile but well successful guy that has an acquired taste. If you want to get people's attention, get SWY flankers or anything else instead.

I have never really liked tom ford as a house as i feel there fragrances are lower quality than they should be, lack character and depth and just generally do not smell that great. But this is too far. £330 for 50ml is astronomical instead of making this they should have just kept the original Oud wood how it used to be making this release unecessary. Performance is better but still not amazing. This is a litter denser and deeper than Oud Wood but not by much like i said i feel like they should have just refreshed the original which is a safer approach than realising this. Overall for this price point or silightly cheaper you can get frags from other brand that are significantly higher quality with better scent profiles that are more unique, wearable and just smell better, significantly better performance and high amounts of real; due to availability of great high end oud fragrances for lower cost or about the same in my opinion oud wood parfum is irrelevant and has no place in the market. This has put me off tom ford even more now and increasing my dislikibg for the house.

I've worn Oud Wood for around a decade and yes it has performance problems, but I usually spray fairly heavily and/or carry a decant. With the parfum, longevity is solid and definitely better. But it seems to sit closer to the skin which can be generally be expected when we're talking about EDP, vs parfum, but I was really hoping parfum would be the best of both worlds. I can get a genuine 100ml of the original for around $160 or less, or I can pay a big premium for the parfum. If I can get 200ml total of the original Oud Wood for less than what I'd pay for a 50ml, it had better last me all night with 2-3 sprays on skin, and it had better project. I think the original Oud Wood is a perfect 10/10 smell and a 4/10 on performance. I need to test this more, but so far I don't think the parfum is worth a big hit to my wallet. I'll just spray more frequently and more juice of the OG. ----------------------------------------------------- Scent 100/100 Performance TBD

First of all, this is exactly what you’d expect and want it to be. I never got to try the old formulations of the original, but I feel like the Parfum is exactly what id assume the og would be like. Its a thicker, more concentrated and longer lasting version of the current original edp. In my country its about 400 USD for 50 ml, which is just insane considering current bottles of the original edp is about 200 USD (at discounters) for 100 ml here..!! 4x the price for a flanker with the exact same scent profile with a slight bump in performance... We just have to get used to Tom Ford’s insane price gauging on anything exciting they launch nowadays (i.e. OW Parfum, Cheery smoke etc). I totally agree with another reviewer that you could just go heavier on the sprays with the original and you’d accomplish the exact same as the Parfum does. Having said all this, the scent itself is lovely. Just way overpriced. Would never buy a full bottle as is now.

The sillage and longevity of Oud Wood Parfum has been astonishing to me thus far. I recevied a full bottle 2 days ago, and upon application, I easily got 12 hours of strong performance that projected very well. I received a ton of compliments after wearing this for only 1 day so far, and I'm truly impressed. I have the EDP as well, but this knocks it out of the ballpark. I'd even go as far as to say that the performance/longevity is just a slight notch under a universally-recognized strong cologne that I also have in Ombre Nomade by LV. I agree that the price-point is outrageous, but I have no regrets. Lastly, the parfum comes off as thicker, with a much larger note of vetiver which I particularly enjoy. Great cologne for someone like myself who loves the EDP, but can't stand its performance.

Look this is astonishingly.overpriced. I will not be buying any more TF private blends after this one. Signature line?!?!?! Still overpriced, but $445 + tax for a 50ml bottle of this is crazy. You can buy PDM, Xerjoff, MFK, etc etc. For half of this cost in some instances, and get twice as much. Hell, even Creed who is also way overpriced gives you 100ml for 450 bucks. With that said, people are complaining it doesn't project as much, but lasts longer?! Yeah, that is usually what happens when upping a concentration. Perfumers never just double the oil used, it has to be reformulated, slighly. Normally when that happens, you increase the density of the scent, it smells deeper / richer / darker, and lasts longer, but you lose some push, some lift. It's less vibrant, but richer.

The Parfum is very beautiful. It brought me back to memories of Tom Ford and Oud Wood in my childhood days. When it first came out, I was about 12 years old, and I used to smell it in every mall and Harrods. Private Blend was the show leader in the market. Honestly, during the years Oud wood EDP day by day became my favorite perfume, and Tom Fords especially the old Private Blend are what introduced me to the world of Perfumes. I have 250 ml of regular Oud Wood and Oud Wood Intense. One week ago I bought this beautiful gem. I wish they release the entire 2007 collection in the parfum version because I miss to smell the original Tuscan Leather, Noir de Noir and Tobacco Vanille in this quality.

A lot of comments here are people complaining about the price, the history of the company, and/or reformulations. For those of you however who are simply interested in what this smells like and how it performs, in particular as compared to the original: I own it. This is beautiful. It is Oud Wood EDP with stronger concentration, more longevity, and slightly better projection. It is my favourite scent of all time (followed by BDC Parfum). It is the ultimate gentleman's fragrance. It has gotten me unsolicited compliments from 6 different females. Whether it is worth the price or not is your personal decision to make, but it is for me. Oud Wood Parfum is just that good.

A bottle of elegant liquid. A beautiful perfume, but the perfume version is a bit too creamy and for this reason difficult to detect. You get the interlude and jubilation flavors. I was expecting it to be brighter, and I kind of regret buying it sight-unseen. Still, it's clearly top-notch. I'll give it some time and edit this post if my thoughts change. So, oud wood is already a groundbreaking woody scent. As the perfume essences intensify, noticeability and attention-grabbing qualities inevitably diminish. I have a suggestion that applies to all the other perfumes: the EDP is the best for daily use, in my opinion. 9/10 (It was so easy to get a 10 from me.)

Perhaps ever so slightly sweeter than the EDP, but otherwise very, very similar scent. Definitely feels heavier and deeper, and the performance is very good on this one. Should say though that I don’t find the EDP to be a poor performer at all, as it gives me a full day on ~8 sprays. Anyway, this new parfum version seems superior. Is it too expensive? That’s up to you to decide - I absolutely love Oud Wood (the EDP and parfum), and will happily pay for what I perceive as high quality. I respect people’s opinion if they find it too expensive, but have limited patience for all the complaints below - just don’t buy it, peeps 🤷🏻♂️

@It_Stings_The_Nostrils, @JonnyFrags 100% the fragrance will be overpriced. Way overpriced. Since TF sold the company the prices have gotten more out of control and I wonder very much about the direction. In any case, to me this may solve the performance issues of Oud Wood. I'll wait for a second hand or open box or whatever. Not a chance I'm buying new. One more thing, I compared a 2014 version of Oud Wood EDP to the new sample I got. The sample smells 'fuller' and lasts longer. I don't have a new Oud Wood EDP so I really cannot confirm any watering down.

Price is 450€ for 50ml here in thr Netherlands.. no real oud not even 1%.. no pure sandalwood.. just slightly denser smell slightly woodier and the opening is harsher. Buy the og 100ml for 180€ overspray and you'll be fine. Its great by any means and as a owner of this bottle (not retail) i will use it. But i will not buy it again as my OG 250 flacon still does the job, then instead of 5 sprays 8 sprays right... ridiculous price without any joke. Nice smell nice composition, good materials but cmon for that price they should have made a REAL OUD wood

I don't know why everyone is assuming this is the product they are releasing after 'watering down' Oud Wood. I have had Oud Wood EDP for years. I always loved it but felt it wasn't very strong. But I never noticed it being 'watered down'. That was my reaction to it from the very first time I sprayed it (over ten years ago). I got the new Oud Wood Parfum sample today. It smells exactly like Oud Wood EDP. It's just stronger. To me, they finally addressed Oud Wood's main issue.

Yeah, yeah, yeah - all of this talk about price as if we aren't getting fleeced by designers on most $100 fragrances even. You'd be amazed to see the margins on most "cheapies". Fragrance is not really a great hobby to get into when considering value. That being said this smells great but I don't think its a massive improvement over the original. 100ml on the grey market of the original is less than half of what 50ml of this goes for.

Got to test this on a blotter, smelled amazing with much better performance, and a clear improvement on the normal oud wood (smells like the old formulation). Given the possible very high price point i cant see why i could recommend it, but the smell - amazing. EDIT: Tried it on skin, performance not great, medium projection for 4-5 hours, skin scent after on my skin. Price is 2760 DKK in Denmark, ~400$ USD for 50ml. Not worth it imo.

This is the sweet spot of the line. I’ve adopted this as a daily driver for the office. It has much better longevity than the EDP, which requires bathing in to last over 5-6 hours on my skin. On me the Parfum still lingers when you wake up the next morning if applied the evening before. Lasts on clothes for ages. Much smoother and more balanced than the EDP. I wish the atomizer was better and it was available in larger than a 50ml.

What more can you ask for ... a more concentrated oud wood. Smells similar to the original just a little creamier, sweeter and smoother along with all the performance issues corrected. It goes on and on ...it truly lasts forever. As for the price ... i don’t mind paying for a masterpiece like this. I’m glad not everybody can just go out and pick this up . Makes it all the more exclusive. Huge fan of Tom Ford

Finally got the chance to try it. My first impression is that is extremely similar to the EdP. However, it's a bit sweeter and warmer. The sillage and the duration have been really improved compared to the original. It's basically all I wanted the EdP to be, but the price is just ridiculous. 385€ for a 50ml it's just too much. It's a pity because at a lower pricepoint I would've definetely bought it.
