Rose D'Amalfi

2nd review, creamy heavenly rose scented baby power, one of the first perfumes that made me expand my horizons/discover my taste- I joined fragantica when i was like wtf is this smell called- turns out I am an almond and powder freak (at the time my signature and bed time scent was OMBRE LEATHER, safe to say I was very far from the feminin/baby powder department😂)—The almond here is beyond satisfying and just makes you wanna keep smelling it - actually addictive. Some say they dont get much rose here - the rose is certainly there but its not ROSE FORWARD, the name can be misleading if you see it that way- its a rose scented almond, not an almond scented rose. dont see rose and think delina/roses vanille/intense cafe/any rose oud ever - i prefer it being almond forward MUCH MORE- so so comforting, if it was rose forward it would smell lkke any other rose floral without the comforting aspect. Infact, the only reason I bought Delina Xclusif is because the first time I smelt it it reminded me of this! This is almost a slightly citrus/fresher take of Delina Xclusif bc of the bergamot/mandarin orange on top. another review that describes the citrus over powder opening as organza is so true! It goes from organza texture to something creamy and smooth - like satin If you are a baby powder addict youll absolutely love this, its baby powder made sophisticated and wearable for grown women. Great for any season, the first time I wore it was on the beach in the carribean heat and humidity, it was INCREDIBLE, the heat made it a creamier and like a rose scented lotion- i kept getting whiffs and have amazing scent memories. In comparison, spraying it in the cold reduces the creaminess and maintains its fresher “organza” alter ego for longer. Ive used my 50ml sparingly for 2 years because it was so good i never wanted it to run out, but I finally got a 100ml and will happily drench myself in it from now on. For a powdery scent this lasts minimum 5/6 hours on me which makes it the strongest and most versatile powder fragrance i own i would never wear a baby powdery scent out, my powdery collection is only for bedtime and domestic use, but i can confidently say this is the only baby powder scent im actually comfortable wearing out (note that my signature scent is a mens fragrance), so I hope that explains how much i love it! Its so comforting but at the same time sophisticated and grown and not giving actual powder for babies....I may be overhyping it rn for people who arent into powder but this is just how much i personally like it, ofcourse many may not see the appeal in powder profiles

I received this last week and have been testing it. Don't get deceived by the pretty pink juice, it's still Tom Ford. If you think you'll get pretty pink rose with sweet almond this is not the case. This is not a safe blind buy whats so ever. Its very unique, I cant really compare it to other fragrance, at least Its not coming to me. The only fragrance I can slightly point to because of the kind of Rose note used here is the Kilian LDBS Extreme version, but only the Rose note thats about all. Its definitely not as sweet as Kilian LDBS Extreme. It starts out powdery, a bit leathery velvety rose, I want to say Almond here is more blended into the fragrance very well, it gives more of the effect on the fragrance as one whole more so than smells like a single note of almond. As it dries down, it turns a bit sweeter, the leathery almost animalic rubbery raw note like is till there but its not as strong, oily dense heliotrope starts to pop out. Sweet powdery velvety rose is still the main player here. It softens down pretty quick, it lingers around and projects soft but definitely there. The performance is great, lasts all day. I sprayed it on my kids shirt once and I could smell it very good every time we hugged but not much when he walked by. Rose Prick smells Soapy and Fresh compared to Rose D'Amalfi side by side. I have blind bought and if I smelled it before hand I don't think I would rush into purchase full bottle, I appreciate the uniqueness of the fragrance, it smells very modern and Im hopping to visit department store to smell other two. Edit: 07/13/22 This Fragrance really grew on me and became a huge love. After sitting and settling for a while after purchase powdery rose and airy almond opened up beautifully became addictively gorgeous. Im leaving my original review in case someone else has similar experience with it, don't discarded just yet, give it some time.

I love the rose trio and have worn them out for long enough to have a good idea on how each best worked for me. Rose D’Amalfi is definitely the one I would expect to be the least polarizing of the three. It’s a very heliotrope/almond-forward fragrance with a gossamer of rose. It’s not an orgeat or amaretto kind of almond by any means and reminds me of a very airy kind of biscuit, maybe even a cracker. There’s a subtle saltiness to it. I assume some brightness comes from the bergamot but I don’t really smell anything citrusy at all. For the rose, it’s there but it’s more of a sprinkle rather than the body of it. How I like to describe it is that Parfait de Roses was the rose jam/liqueur you made Rose D’Amalfi with. It’s but a hint of that rose jam richness, which I find is good on a breezy, sunny day out. I like this most around mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Kinda does well with some heat and goes great with the breeze. I did six sprays around my neck, making sure to layer them and not just spread them evenly to get the best office-appropriate performance. For the first two hours, it projected and trailed rather well in an enclosed office space then became a scent bubble as I moved for maybe three more hours after than. The last two hours were characterized with a skin scent that rose with body heat. I love it but in terms of other powdery rose of the same prompt, I tend to like Rose Cherie and Eladaria more. Still, this is very beautiful and would be worth the price at a discounter!

Gorgeous, gorgeous rose scent! I can't compare it to anything else, it is the most delicate, modern, powdery, slightly fresh rose out there. The rose is the very modest star of this show, that lets the helitrope, almond and citrus shine through while being at the center of it all. A truly balanced perfume. I am so glad I stumbled across this as I was searching for a replacement for my beloved Peut Etre. It's not what I was looking for, but it's what I left with lol. Couldn't be happier with my choice, this is very unique and quite the hidden gem. A very uplifting, office friendly fragrance with moderate to intimate projection and good longevity. 9/10 for me, will keep repurchasing. Try this if you have the chance, you'll most likely fall in love but it's not the safest blind buy.

My favorite of the 3 new rose fragrances. It opens very bright but quickly dries to something smooth and creamy with a subtle rose coming through. It's not very loud but I don't care because I would classify this as a fragrance you were for yourself not for others. Will pick up a full size when shelf space opens in a month or so. I briefly tested it on the back of my hand before buying the trio so longevity is still unknown but even without my proper skin prep the fragrance was noticeable for 3-4 hours. EDIT this stuff lingers on fabric. I use it last week and put on a sweater. 4 days later i put on said sweater and go to a family member's house and the first comment I received upon hugging my aunt and mom is that I smell amazing. I immediately went to Saks and bought a full size

I'm probably gonna seem like an actual lunatic when I say this but I picked up on what I thought was a monster energy drink for a really brief second??? Look I don't know either lol but aside from that, this was lovely! I'm a little tossed up between this and the Russie as my favourites from the 3. Rose de chine just wasn't it for me unfortunately. This one feels a bit more complex than Russie with it settling into more of a comforting fragrance rather than bright and fresh. It also had pretty good longevity as well which was fantastic to see considering I'd never expect that from either of them. Just a lovely scent that I think would work well in most if not, all occasions. Love it!

My fiancé and I selected this as my bridal perfume to wear on our wedding day. It starts of with a soft pink rose. To me it encapsulates the essence of ballerina. Soft and elegant but with a feminine strength. I could not detect the almond until it reached my skin and it warmed to a sweetness. I don’t detect much bergamot, although it might just be keeping the rose note bright and fresh. This is not your grandmother’s rose, it’s much more youthful. The powder element in this scent is well balanced, it is not too dry or like baby powder. Just makes this scent feel like a pink powder puff that turns into a musky sweet rose scent. Lasts on my skin for over 6 hours.

Wow I absolutely love this! If you are a gourmand fragrance lover like me and want something different other than vanilla or chocolate, cake or cookies 😛definitely get your nose on this. Rose D’Amalfi reminds me of pink powdery tape bubblegum. It’s powdery, it’s sweet, it’s rosey. The initial blast is strong but its fades into a Turkish delight vibe. As a reviewer said it below and I don’t disagree.... Barbie would wear Rose D’Amalfi. If you are looking for something in the same wheelhouse as Lancôme Parfait de Roses look no further. Parfait de Roses has more of that syrupy rose vibe while Rose D’Amalfi is powdery. For me... it’s back up bottle worthy!

This went straight to the top of my Christmas wish list shortly after I first smelled it two days ago. I have never done that before, and definitely not with a Tom “I can’t afFord.” It is lovely! If you like Guerlain L’instant Magic, Valentino Donna, or Narciso Rodriguez Rouge (or even NR Poudree), then I believe you will like this. I love a slightly sweet, powdery rose. They are totally my jam! I can’t speak of longevity. I’ll have to wait until Dec 25th to find out. Also, I never pay retail for any perfume. I’m allergic to that! I certainly won’t pay Tom Ford prices. I just can’t. Thankfully, I found this at The Cosmetics Company Store. :)

Gorgeous, nutty, rosy sweetness - like nougat. Just the very thing if a delicious gourmand scent is what you're craving! It reminds me of Ideo's Last Canto but without the troublesome cumin note. Also the sweet nuttiness of L'Artisan's Traversee du Bosphore. Sometimes you're just in the mood for this sort of sweetness. It's not going to remind you of rose immediately, the rose here is a smoothing rose absolute presence rather than a bright tea rose or a deep, peppery Damask rose. Mostly this is just moreish nougat sweetness and it would be absolutely perfect with your prettiest pastel outfit. Big like!

This smell takes me straight back to a certain marshmallow I used to eat as a child The first inital bite. I recognised it as a unique perfume which wont suit everybody. But it's beautiful warm, rosy scent without the what I would call the prickly element of rosescents, I normally dont go for rose or superfloral scents. But I love powdery elements in perfumes The drydown is great soft but still has integrity, more intimate. It's like you need to get closer if you want a whiff of me. When I want to feel very feminine and sexy, this is what I wear..

I absolutely love this! I’m a rose fan, fresh, green, sweet...if it’s a good rose I will usually find something to like about it. This one took me by surprise. As others mention, I don’t feel is as rose forward nor it is as punchy as other TF fragrances. It is a sweet and comforting well balanced powdery scent. I find it very nostalgic. It reminds me of Cabbage Patch dolls! as soon as I smelled it, it took me back and I had to have it. It’s currently my most used perfume and as a plus it layers well with leather scents.

A very realistic rose de mai oil, a little powdery, but still exotic. It is not an Amalfi experience to my nose, but a trip to a more exotic country, maybe Turkey. Strangely, it also reminds me of Oud Satin Mood by MFK, but mostly it would be more similar to L’instant magic by Guerlain (almondy heliotrope, but no rose in Guerlain), probably thanks to the heliotrope note. If you are not a huge fan of roses and you could skip one of the most natural smelling rose de mai (centifolia), then try the Guerlain.

Rose macarons in a bottle. The almond is powdery and nutty while the rose is sweet, almost like a jam. The heliotrope adds a nice powdery "vanilla". The bergamot adds a lovely citrus that ever so slightly brightens up the fragrance. She is My favorite out of the three in the rose collection. I'm not sure if she is limited edition or not as I keep hearing different things but I hope she isn't. I just wish she was a bit more affordable, I feel like the price is only so high because of the Tom Ford name.

I know this fragrance might lean more feminine but i absolutely love wearimg this. It’s such a gorgeus scent. I think this could definately be worn all year around if you want without any problems. It’s probably not a safe blindbuy though and i recommend that you try this before purchasing it. I get pretty good projection and longevity from this one. It is a very well blended fragrance and works very well with my skin, Im very glad i bought this. 9/10

Nowhere near the Parfait the Roses or L'Instant Magique. No resemblance at all. I find more similarities to Delina - a very modern, industrial, unnatural, pink rose. That being said, Rose D'Amalfi smells more sophisticated than any version of Delina, it is just a bit more subtle and soft. I can sense beautiful heliotrope and almonds - a magical combination surrounding that industrial, plastic rose. Longevity is eternal, but sillage quite minimal.

I have recently become interested in fragrances, and Tom Ford was my starting point. I find his perfumes quite intoxicating & exquisitely interesting & beautiful. I’ve ordered over 150 decants from around the world now & Rose D’Amalfi is up the top with Portrait of a Lady, L’eau D’hiver & Killian Love Dont be Shy for me. It is very beautiful, delicious, uplifting scent, thanks for making this as it is a joy indeed!

Upon first sniff, this transported me back to a favourite crockery shop I used to visit as a child, Whittards, the smell of sweet coffee and rose tea. Of course, this doesn’t have a coffee note to it, but it smells delicious regardless. It is very sweet and dense, a syrupy rose with almond and heliotrope. I personally love it, but I can see how it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and truly the price is extortionate.

i have reviewed this recently, just back here to say, my macerated bottle is SO BEAST MODE...14 hours in, getting strong whiffs and its very heavy on my skin, i wore a jacket for a few hours and im surprised it didnt even rub off the arms. i hate TF performance sometimes but never have to worry with this one. all the notes are also intact, rosey baby powder heaven update: whiffs lasted well over 24 hours

This is such a beautiful fragrance. I could not get it out of my mind after smelling it for the first time, and had to get it instantly. I do love a good rose perfume, and this performs so beautifully on my skin. At first I get creamy almond, some citrus and rose and then eventually the lush rose starts peeking through more and more. Exquisite and so sophisticated. Very suitable for fall.

I have rose Chinese which is more sour this is more bitter in the beginning and becomes more gourmand. I like the almond note goes nicely with the rose. It reminds me the scent of a rose lipstick that's a bit powdery. Its a nice balance of citrusy .... flowery.... sweet .... and nutty. Really like it i think this is my fav from the rose collection. Shall be purchasing again.

Rose D’ Amalfi is a beautiful rose fragrance. This is everything I wanted MFK A La Rose to be. This is a true, fresh cut rose scent that actually lasts! I smell a fresh garden with lots of roses and other florals. It has depth, but also the aquatic sense that takes you to a dewy young rose. Very elegant. Present, yet not loud. Youthful. I am in love.

Absolutely love this. Definitely my favorite from the Private Rose line and one of my favorites from the entire house. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be too gourmand when I saw the almond note but that wasn’t the case at all. Perfectly balanced. Sweet but not cloying. Powdery but not old fashioned. Good longevity and sillage.

It's a very feminin, elegant and lovely scent. Between Delina Exclusive and Delina La Rosée- suits for midseasons. Very big LOVE!!! I didn't felt for years anything that impressed me so much like this snd it’s very easy to love. It can be a blind buy or a present too.

My favourite of the three new rose scents. Love this one, a subtle rose (and almondy) scent. Rose scents in particular can get all up in your face, but this is so nice and pleasant. Absolutely more feminine, could recommend this to women. A beautiful scent!

This is an amazing sweet rose-almond fragrance with a powdery dry down. I've tried so many Tom Ford fragrances trying to find one that is sweet but not too harsh. I've finally found it in Rose D'Amalfi. Can't wait to get a full bottle of this delight.

Tom Ford made a smart move. This is basically a remake of Parfait de Roses by Maison Lancome. An amazing scent that Lancome unfortunately discontinued. This has the same Rose turkish delight DNA as Parfait, only a little bit spicier. Amazing scent!

Sugared rose petals. Soft, sweet, slightly soapy, a little synthetic in a lovely way. This is such a gentle, feminine fragrance. The almond comes through nicely as a candied backdrop. I’ve enjoyed this one more than expected.

opening is very powdery, almost comes of like a rose baby powder. sweet, a bit spicy from pink pepper. the bergamot is very fresh and sweet. very faint almond, grounds the scent so its not overly sweet. really beautiful

This is Soleil Blanc without the coconut notes, more rose scent, it's not bad but nothing speical

Edit 2/9/22: I'm having to edit already. I knew better than to write a review so soon, but it seemed so linear! But of course it's not. At two hours in this has dried down to the most gorgeous vanilla, lightly sweet, powdery rose. Mea Culpa. I will update and integrate my review in a few weeks, like I should have done in the first place, lol. The fragrance is like looking at a pale pink rose through a window, just after light rain shower and the sun has just started coming through the clouds, sitting by the window is a bowl of citrus and your drinking a glass of almond milk. All the notes are there, just a bit watery. Like a water color painting, they blend and dance together without any one really jumping out at you except a lightly sharp citrus (watery) rose, underpinned with mildly sweet green almond. The heliotrope shows up for me as a vague powdery vanilla, but not enough to call this a vanilla rose in anyway. I was surprised by the pink pepper, I just thought that the orange and bergamot were going to overwhelm it, but about an hour in and I got a hint of spice and sweet. The almond deepens a smidge and then it doesn't change for me anymore. My nose doesn't get any plastic or play dough notes. This is different from most of the TF's I own or have even sniffed. It's not heavy but it's not fleeting either. It's very ladylike. Not Chanel ladylike, Tom Ford ladylike ~ meaning sillage is mild but longevity is good. I will say I was underwhelmed the first 15 minutes or so, but then it warmed up on my skin. I think it will deepen with time. I'm not comfortable saying this is a gourmand. There isn't enough vanilla/sweet for me to say that. Random thoughts: Blind buy? No, I wouldn't rec, even though I did (but I absolutely made sure Saks return policy would accept opened perfumes, lol) bc this isn't a big, sweet vanilla/almond rose. And most people think big when they think TF fragrance. A solid like, may be love if it deepens and sweetens up a bit, we shall see. Gorgeous bottle/juice color. Love the black and pale pink, which is reinforcing the ladylike aspect for me.

I was given a very small puddle of this in a tiny bottle when I bought Rose de Russie back in February 2022. I say that because like some other reviewers here I'm trying to justify why I even have this. Rose D'Amalfi is a decent enough rose scent, a bit on the frothy side, but if you don't have a lot of other rose scents it's worthwhile. It's not a common tea rose scent (it's not a Perfumers Workshop rose scent that clutches you by the throat until you gag). It's light with a slight edge, maybe from the heliotrope, and lasts around 4 hours on my skin. It doesn't reek of almonds either. It gives you a good impression of the Amalfi coast, at least for those of us who have never been there. (How do they even do that?) But it's worthwhile only if you don't pay full retail. No way in the world is it worth full retail. I see right now anyway there seem to be several bottles on eBay that are in the $100+- range, and I know nothing about them as to whether they're fakes. (I do know that there are a lot of Tom Ford knockoffs around online, some with convincing looking boxes.) If someone gave you a bottle of this, you'd say thank you very much and wear it at least once a week to start, but after then, who knows. To me anyway, it doesn't smell like a "special occasion perfume" either, and I'm thinking back to an era (admittedly decades ago) when I had fewer than 100 bottles of perfume. Nope, it's an everyday perfume, when there are so many other everyday rose perfumes, many of them fabulous, at reasonable $50-100 prices.

After falling in love with Rose de Chine, a simple but beautiful rose-amber scent, I have been meaning to try the others. There are rumours of discontinuation with regard to the now-unfortunately named Rose de Russie, and sure enough, it has been conspicuously absent from my local Tom Ford counters. So for now, Rose d'Amalfi is all I can test. It isn't the fresh citrus-rose I expected - while citrus features, it instead is an almond-rose scent, slightly gourmand but with a light touch. RA opens with citrus-led rose, fresh and dewy. The citrus subsides quickly and the rose becomes sweet and slightly jammy. The almond follows, and while it is initially jarring, it gives a confectionery-like quality, bringing to mind a rose-flavoured cake. It works however! Heliotrope rounds it out, enhancing the haziness of the almond. It becomes somehow bread-like as it dries down, airy and strangely reminiscent of Play-Doh. I'm pretty sure there's tonka bean in there. It becomes increasingly powdery as it dries down, fading to a sweet-rosy skin scent, soft and comforting. Sillage and longevity are moderate. An interesting take on rose that surprisingly works, RA is a gourmand-leaning rose that is feminine-leaning and transeasonal. Odd but ultimately works. Good stuff, but Rose de Chine is my preference. 3.5/5.

Marketed as for men and women, but this is definitely a female fragrance. Its a very nice mix of Rose + almond + vanilla. Pretty linear. You can smell a little bit of citrus if you take a long whiff, which isn't smelled when you smell for a few seconds or passing by. The citrus is the only part i don't like. I got a sample from this for free, so im trying it out. Not my favorite female perfume, but it would still be nice if i smelled it on a woman. Smells like a 20-40 year old woman. Doesn't smell neither like a teen nor a like an older woman. If my girlfriend wore this, i'd like it, but i wouldnt ask her to buy a bottle nor would i gift it to her. 7/10 EDIT: Actually just looked at other reviews. Some woman mentioned it smells like Turkish Delights and i couldn't agree more now that i think about it.

Wow. So different, strong but seducing. On my skin this is a woody, resinuous rosy delight, with heliotrope prominent in the drydown. I get rose and woods mostly, but not sharp, like Agent Provocateur, this is actually very pleasant, even though I'm mot this huge rose fan.. It's dark, but still fresh at the same time, strong and still tender. This is the best way to describe it. I think it's totally unisex, probably the most unisex rosy perfume I've ever tried, along with The Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose which is also quite woody on me. Worth a try if you are not a rose fan, and almost obligatory if you are one!

Every time i smell this i think of freshly baked marshmallows, rose and rose water (yes there’s a difference). I hate that my skin does NOT like rose prominent fragrances (it handles a tad better with Rose De Chine) so it goes quite stringent on me because i would’ve bought this one in a heartbeat! Ugh.. I’ll agree with @nanaa_from_ghana that it has that same sweet rose aspect from MFK Oud Satin Mood as i just bough that one the other day but the MFK one has a bit more depth hence the oud. If you want more a marshmallow version this one is it!

Not at all what I imagined based on the name. I think most of us expected a freshy when this was first announced, so for this fragrance to wind up being this SUPER powdery, almond-y, almost Nestle Quik-like experience could not have surprised me more. It’s really quite yummy - ESPECIALLY in those first couple of hours before it dries down to a slightly chocolatey powder. I like it. It’s definitely NOT very rose-forward at all to my nose and I’m not sure that I’d call this full-bottle worthy, but it’s a delicious fragrance nonetheless.

First impressions: so powdery! And the bergamot is not like anything I’ve ever tried. Has the Earl Gray note that is what I’ve been looking for. The almond is starting to come through and I’m very sure I’ll be wearing this again!! So beautiful. 😍 Second impression: the almond and rose are very well blended. It’s a perfect clean girl perfume that I love for spring and will definitely be wearing it a lot!

Very pretty soft rose on the opening. Dry down starts off with almond and heliotrope, pleasant and sweet. Not a very rose forward fragrance. I consider this a safe buy. Reminds me a lot of The Greatest Showman from House of Sillage. Also reminds me of Le Bouquet De La Mariee from Guerlain but without the Patchouli.

I really like this. I got it, as I wanted something totally different from my normal wood amber fragrances. Can definitely see why people are saying baby wipes, but it’s so much nicer than that. It’s delicate and sweet, and has a feel on the nose, like really good quality Turkish delight bought from a Carsi.

It smells sweet, almost like a rose-flavored Turkish delight (probably due to the almond notes). That being said, I wouldn't make it a staple for myself, as I have directly related this Turkish delight smell to grandma's house. Will try wearing it for a day and check back in someday.

For few minutes you can smell pepper and it's kind of a spicy rose, but soon after it just becomes Mancera roses vanille with a slight hint of almond. Longevity and silage are good, but Mancera performs similarily. You're just paying premium for the brand.

It has a sweet creamy base that reminds me of PdM Delina, but the fresh aesthetic is more like La Rosée...If this type of scent isn't popular and have been done a hundred times, I'd pay more attention to it.

I didn’t like it when I first sprayed it, I found it too powdery and rose-y. However, the dry down smells so amazing it changed my mind. It’s like an almond-y vanilla with softer rose and citrus notes.

Imagine a mix between Montale Intense Caffee and Kenzo Flower. The parfume is very sweet and almondy, muting the rose. There are similar alternatives for a lower price point.

This is a beautiful rose, but it has a smokiness to it that makes it so much more complex and appropriate for warm summer evenings to me

A nice perfume but it's not "rosy" and yet the almond is quite nice on this. Its a lovely perfume but I wouldn't call it a rose.

Smells like an expensive rose shower gel. It’s got the Tom Ford DNA and quality but lacks much depth.

Simple, fresh, sweet, candy/herby rose. It's nice and very likable. Not worth the price tag though.
