A TOBACCO STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN I happen to love scuba diving! On any coral reef in the Caribbean, at a depth of about 20 meters and for 45 minutes, you can forget the problems of the modern world and just enjoy the natural environment. My most treasured diving destinations are located in the Carib, namely Los Roques in northern Venezuela, or Jardines de la Reina in Cuba. Unfortunately, current politics no longer make it easy for these destinations and I would rather trust the shores of Dominican Republic and Jamaica. But I don't want to write about politics. I really want to focus on the body feelings we experience after a dive. After pumping several atmospheres of compressed air for more than half an hour, the bloodstream becomes saturated with air molecules. Most of this is nitrogen, but there is also quite a lot of oxygen. Your sinuses have also been thoroughly cleaned with salt water. After the colourful sightseeing pleasure you experience, while diving, you feel a tremendous sense of physical well-being due to your super-oxygenated lungs along with your clean throat and nose. Smokers (yes, I am a smoker) know that there is no better opportunity to inhale aromatic tobacco smoke. Drinkers admit that it is the best time for a couple of glasses of cognac or whisky flavoured in toasted oak barrels. Gourmets advises that this is the best time for spicy snacks and cinnamon sweets. Perfume lovers can enjoy all these tips and sniff a precious fragrance with tobacco, spices, cinnamon and whisky, with some noble woody aromas mixed in.... a perfect time to get a whiff of Tobacco Oud by Tom Ford. "Tobacco Oud" opens with an alcoholic accord of aged whisky with warm spices and cinnamon. Smoky aromatic tobacco, sandalwood and (a little) oud are also there from the start, but only after some time do these notes overpower the top accords. Secondary notes can be detected in the base, namely some patchouli, amber vanilla and a hint of sweetness. These late accords take over the dry down but sustain a substantial residual woodiness. The perfume is dense, lively, quite oriental, quite gentle and undoubtedly a head turner, even for lovers of blue fragrances. The oriental dry down is magnificent with vanilla on an amber base plus the residual sandalwood and oud. The usual overpricing of Tom Ford allows me to recommend this fragrance only after an extensive test. The ladies out there need to be doubly careful. Tom Ford claims that this perfume is unisex. Really? Well, maybe during the dry down. The opening and heart notes of the perfume are quite masculine. The music: Eagles - "Hotel California"

This is the best Tom Ford fragrance... there I said it! 11/10. What I love is when fragrance companies name their product appropriately, when a fragrance is called Tobacco Oud, you would expect to smell... Tobacco... and (you know where this is going!). Admittedly the oud is more of a supporting role in this fragrance, but this is Tobacco heaven; without doubt the most pleasant Tobacco note in any fragrance I have tried to date. However, if Tobacco is not your thing, don't even bother trying it, you will not like this. Very pungent in the opening, it really hits you in the face with the Tobacco note; it's very loud, but in a sophisticated way... I love it. If I were to give the opening a 10/10, the dry down is a 12/10, absolutely intoxicating and the whiskey note, coupled with a decent amount of spice and subtle sweetness is addictive. One of the those scents you will constantly be lifting your arm to your nose to sniff some more and have another 'eyes rolling into the back of your head' moment; definite 'nose-gasm' inducing scent. One of the most masculine scents I can think of; that's not to say a woman couldn't wear this... wear whatever you want! However I do (for some reason) think of a man in a tux... perhaps self perception as this is the fragrance I recently wore to a black tie event. Nevertheless this will be most suited to colder weather and more-so an evening fragrance, but to hell with the rules, this smells so damn good I'll wear it whenever I'm feeling a little spicy! The only downside is that my girlfriend hates it... which is a real shame... I'll have to find another girlfriend now! HA! Jokes aside she is a lover of mass appealing scents... which this is not! Whilst I think a lot of people will appreciate it, there will likely be an equal amount of people who won't. I believe if you like it, you'll love it; I don't think there is middle ground; I cannot imagine anyone smelling this and thinking "Meh!", more like "Meh-iii god this is incredible!" I've seen the comments about discontinuation... I'm in the UK, and this is available pretty much everywhere, maybe that's a US thing; I'd recommend that you jump on a plane, have yourself a trip to Blighty and enjoy yourself some Tobacco Oud. We don't have much to offer: awful food, terrible weather, the ugliest women, but we have Tobacco Oud in stock.... oh and some old buildings that might be worth seeing; make the most of it. If you do make the trip and buy Tobacco Oud, I would like to be the first to shake your hand and offer you a compliment. Good day!

Wow, wow, wow. Where do I start? I blind bought this stuff as a younger guy & as someone who generally doesn't get offended by anything. But even as someone who finds most fragrances most easy to wear, boy is this a fragrance that is hard to master, at least as an early adult. That being said, this fragrance is a masterpiece. I can't stress it enough, all the notes of whiskey, tobacco and ouds dance around on my skin to create a very suede masculine smell. The dry-down involves a more incense/wood accord (assuming that's the sandalwood) and at the end of its lifespan is a bourbon-like vanilla with faint woods surrounding it. I can't believe some people are depicting this as unpleasant and 'manure-like'. Nowhere near it. At least not for me, all the notes are very clear and perceived as well thought out in the nature that OG Tom Ford delivers. Not to mention this stuff is nuclear, I reach over 8 hours longevity with this & crazy projection. While I sit here typing this, I can smell it in the air bouncing off the back of my hand as my fingers bob up and down. It's a commonly held belief that this stuff has been reformulated, and since, discontinued. Firstly, I smelt this fragrance ages ago when I was just getting into perfume and I did not like it at all. This was back in 2018, but since smelling it today it's coming off in a way that the notes are much clearer and easier to appreciate. Perhaps my inexperienced nose deceives me, but regardless the reformulation takes away absolutely nothing from this fragrance. Secondly, the discontinuation is something that baffles me. Just like ADG's Profumo, everyone thinks it's discontinued yet is still being produced, then sold in Australian retailers. My batch code dates back only 11 months. 11 months ago was still years after rumors of discontinuation. So to anybody who wants to get their hands on a classic and TFs best fragrance, it's still out there. Just look in the right places. Also, Selfridges still sells this for <300 AUD at the current point in time of typing this. Especially cheaper if you live in the UK & can pick it up. For my Australians, you can find this in specific Mecca stores and david jones, who both price match from trusted retailers. Even though it isn't the easiest wear, mastering Tom Ford's Tobacco Oud will give you an unparalleled level of confidence. Dress nicely, present yourself well and you will wear this fragrance as opposed to the fragrance wearing you.

This is definitely one of those fragrances that men are going to like much more than most women. Don't get me wrong some ladies love itz but typically it doesn't score large amounts of compliments from random girls walking around the mall like your Blue fragrances and aquatics do. This one honestly smells like something created in the late 80's to early 90's. It has that same vibe that Chanel Egoiste, Balenciaga Pour Homme, or even Ungaro Pour Homme III have without exactly smelling like them. One reviewer stated it smelled like Jimi Hendrix's bedroom and I can see what they mean. To me it smells like an attractive wealthy businessman like Michael Douglass in Wallstreet or even Rob Lowe in Wayne's world. It definitely fits that look. I honestly wish my entire home smelled like this one ( I actually spray Drakkar Noir throughout the house and Kouros in the bathroom)but of course I'm not using an expensive niche fragrance for an air freshener lol. Anyway I was so disappointed to see it discontinued when they could have just put it in a different line like they did Ombre Leather. I also have smelled the Intense version and I like it but just not quite as much as the original. I think the sweetness made it less attractive to me. Ok on to the controversial compliments subject. Im typically an Aventus and Terre D'hermes guy. Sometimes Hacivat too, but I love my 80s and early 90s powerhouses especially Egoiste, Safari, Fahrenheit, and YSL Opium Pour Homme so this one gets quite a bit of wear in the cooler weather. If you are dressed the part and carry yourself well this one will indeed get you compliments. Since it is a heavy fragrance definitely go a bit light on the trigger at least your first couple of wearings. But yes Chanel Egoiste, Balenciaga Pour Homme, and Ungaro Pour Homme III always got great compliments so I'm not surprised this one does at all. I really don't even need to explain performance as you know this fragrance is as powerful as it gets. Only bad thing is discontinuation but I grabbed one online that popped up so they are still out there. My recommendation is to grab it and even if you don't like it it's a very easy resell. Finally if you cannot find this beauty or it's just too expensive but you want a fragrance with a similar vibe I recommend Chanel Egoiste for sure. Both fragrances have that very unique tobacco and sandalwood duo. Again they don't smell alike, but definitely in the same family.

I don't know who was the genius at Tom Ford who decided to discontinue this Tobacco Oud is one of the most surprising fragrances I've tried from Tom Ford. I expected to dislike this based on the notes and because my experience with Tom Ford as a brand hadn't been too pleasant at the time I got my sample, but I actually love this and it might be my favorite Tom Ford fragrance. It's a surprisingly sweet scent with a prominent boozy note, but quite different from something like Angels' Share, here it blends smoothly and perfectly with the rest of the notes. There's also obviously a strong tobacco scent and very mild spices and vanilla. I don't really get any oud here, more so just a slightly BO-ish edge similar to what I get in Halfeti and its flankers in the very late dry down. Overall it's an excellent scent and I'm having a really hard time understanding why Tom Ford would discontinue this. There's been rumors about its return for a while but I think it's just that, if they wanted to rerelease it they might have done so already. I doubt it'll get knocked down to the Signature line like Beau de Jour and Eau de Soleil Blanc, but if they do I'll buy this immediately. Performance was kind of underwhelming, but I'm not sure if it could have been nose blindness. I started by getting a test spray in the back of my hand this morning and that did really well. Went to the gym, showered and then gave it a full wear. I was testing Clive Christian's C Woody Leather in my hand and I could smell that stronger than Tobacco Oud all evening long. Even now, about 7 hours later and a few hand washes later, I can smell C Woody Leather more on my hand than Tobacco Oud, which is completely gone. Not sure if I went nose blind or if my sample was old but yeah, it was quite weak in terms of longevity, projection and sillage. Projection and longevity were maybe moderate at best, sillage was very, very light. I'll have to test it again to see if I get weak performance again.

Tobacco Oud opens with a rich, boozy, sweet, complex, sweet, resinous woody accord that’s extremely base heavy. The opening feels dense, bold, mysterious, and unmistakably Tom Ford. You can already tell that it’s gonna be long lasting because even the sweeter/boozy top notes can’t hide the powerful elements underneath - moist & rich tobacco, some spices and a good dose of oud blended in really well. I really enjoy this sweet accord in the beginning, gives off dried fruits vibes and combined with the whisky note reminds me of plum wine a bit. This balances out the darker notes really well and makes the scent more approachable. As it develops, Tobacco oud becomes woodier, and slightly funkier. It now has a more mature feel. Some people told me it smells like an old church and I can kinda see why but in an elegant way. The more it dries down the more apparent the oud becomes, and the more anamalic it gets. As the initial sweetness and booziness fade there is nothing to hide the true nature of the oud. This lingers around for a good 12 hours which is really good performance but the projection does die down significantly. Overall, this is defintiely an acquired taste because it is somewhat challenging and unique. Definitley do not blind buy this. It is more on the mature, dark, and serious side but it does have this elegance that makes it surprisingly wearable. If you are fan of tobacco scents like myself defintely give this a try, one of the more creative take on the note for sure. On initial spray I'm hit with an alcoholic vapor that opens into a Whiskey note that smells of some kind of fermenting dark fruit, thats quickly followed by a strong note of Castoreum. Along with a dry note of Tobacco & subtle spices. The Castoreum here smells like what it is. An Animal Musk. To be specific, Castoreum smells like the unwashed fur & body of an Animal thats been wallowing in its own fecal matter. Which may be off putting to people who have never smelled it before. So I have to strongly caution anyone thinking about blind buying this fragrance. The Oud here smells of a dark dry moldy wood. But its subtle & supported by an equally subtle note of Patchouli. There are other notes at work here that arent mentioned, but summed up as a note of Incense. Such as: Labdanum, Myrrh, Frankincense, & Amber, that add to the overall dry & dusty feel of this fragrance. As the Castoreum starts to move to the background the Spices intensify & you pick up on Cinnamon, Coriander, Cardamom, & Nutmeg. ... & when combined with the dry Tobacco, It smells like the sweet spiced lingering scent of a Smokers Pipe. Tobacco Oud has this Victorian Era Haunted House feel to it. Think Musty Attic, & or Old Musty Library. For me it conjures images of Earnest Hemingway reading a book by the window on a cold Fall evening, with a Pipe in his mouth & a glass of Whiskey on the table beside him. If you enjoy Tom Ford's Amber Absolute, you'll no doubt love Tobacco Oud. They dont smell alike because Amber Absolute is sweet with a Peppery opening, but they're closely related through their use of Resins. My review is of a 100 ml 2015 batch.

Tobacco Oud is lovely. It's a smooth, dark, serious fragrance that gets more resinous and sweet after the first half hour. I don't personally get much oud, but I think oud must be there because that's probably the element that lifts the tobacco and makes this dry down so heavenly. It's -- thankfully -- not musty at all, which is a problem I have with some tobacco fragrances. Projection and sillage are very strong. A person six feet across the room will know you're wearing it (...and be holding his breath, possibly? My husband is not a fan of this one). I heard a story about Cleopatra, how she filled a room with rose petals for her dinner guests. They all had to wade knee-deep through flowers to get to the table. As they crushed the flowers underneath their feet, the fragrance made the evening blissful and intoxicating. Tobacco Oud reminds me of that story. But instead of rose petals, tobacco leaves are underfoot. And instead of reclining on chaise lounges and eating grapes in our togas, we're smoking cigars and drinking whiskey in our pajamas. Jason Momoa is probably definitely there Tobacco Oud is a love for me. I wore this all the time until it was discontinued. Half a bottle is all I have left and I am trying to find something to replace it. 9.5/10

Many, many, moons ago; I purchased Tobacco Oud, then returned it, simply due to the fact that I was in the early stages of my fragrance journey and felt I could’ve spent the money elsewhere. I didn’t want to overgrow my collection. That mindset quickly changed as after that I fell into the endless rabbit hole of Fragrances and got more into By Killian, Creed, etc. needless to say, I let Tobacco Oud slip away. I bought a decant not too long after and I held onto that decant until there is mere drops left. The search started up once again to find a bottle of this fabulous fragrance. Knowing it was discontinued I knew it would be hard to find. But alas, I found a reputable seller and just received my bottle today. It is from 2021, but my goodness this stuff is absolutely amazing! It may not be AS potent as my decant, but it is quite close and the smell smells absolutely amazing. I am so glad that I now have this in my permanent collection and I will not let this go. This is old school Tom Ford in the best way. I know this one received a lot of flack for being out there, but I think in today’s day it can be seen as a classic. It’s dark, boozy, smokey, bold, and sophisticated. Not for the faint of heart. 12/10

This is what I imagine Agent 47/Hitman to smell like looking out of a dirty window below the pale blue sky, blurred by radiating waves of dry yellow heat, above a bustling Souq in Damascus, Syria; overlooking his target. Or even during a stormy night in Rotterdam, signature crimson tie slipping in and out of darkness, eyes pixelated by raindrops riddling the window pane, assembling the silencer on his Sieger 300 Ghost; illuminated by the red and pink neon lights of sex clubs and liquor stores, seedy no-tell motels. Smells like sweet dirty whiskey, skanky Oud, bazaar spices and burning cigar tobacco. Yet it’s so smooth. Some deep fruity nuances in this too, like fermented plum or something. Amazing! The perfume parlour dupe of this called wood leaf is also great, not as much of that animalic funk up top that makes this so primal and brilliant, but it’s a solid clone in my opinion, the best one I have found so far for TO. Little more pronounced on the whiskey but if you’re looking tobacco Oud on a budget, PP is the way to go, especially if you’re in the UK. Although I do get a wet dog smell in the opening of the Perfume Parlour clone like a reviewer below does with the OG, however it quickly subsides.

This is the most complete Tobacco fragrances that I've ever smelled. Any other nice Tobacco based fragrance out there has the element of extra sweetness to balance out the Tobacco and make it more seductive or mainstream. This one on the other hand is mostly about Tobacco and spices as they are. I would have named it Tobacco dance because of the magnificent drydown. It is polarizing as it actually should be, this is the ultimate statement maker. It's a type of fragrance that you'd associate with your own personality and character and if you actually receive compliments and acknowledgement when wearing this, it's also your style and character that is being also complimented, though for me it's not that important to receive compliments but it's worth noting that the way this perfume would be received is very different than like what wearing Herod/Tobacco Vanille/Tobacco Honey ... would do. Overall if you love Tobacco you'll most certainly love this one but if you actually need all the sweetness and gourmand essence to help you like Tobacco I assume this would be challenging.

Wow.. This is a true testament to how your nose changes over time! When I smelled Tobacco Oud first time in 2019 (when my “fragrance journey” had just begun), I couldn’t stand it. Instant repulsion. For context, the year before, Oud Wood had become my gateway drug into the fragrance world. I didn’t touch or sample Tobacco Oud again, even after gravitating heavily towards Tom Ford in general and building almost my entire collection around the brand. Before Tobacco Oud is getting fully axed, I decided to try it one more time. This time, absolute and instant love! It’s taking parts from both Plum Japonais (one of my all-time favorites) and Amber Absolute, to my nose. It’s definitely “harder to wear” than Plum Japonais, and certainly in our weather here in Singapore - but wow, one spray of this stuff at home in the evening is magical. No idea why I thought this was animalic or skanky in the past. Yeah, it has a bit of bite, but very much along the lines of the typical Tom Ford “funk” found in many other of the brand’s greatest offerings. This is absolutely awesome!

I recently blind bought Amouage Beloved Woman because I like perfumes that are not the typical scents everyone is wearing or knows what it smells like. Upon spraying it on myself, something in my memory kept telling me I had something similar but I couldn’t figure out what, until today. I saw I still had a bit of my TF Tobacco Oud remaining in a bottle so I sprayed it and immediately remembered why I love it. Tobacco Oud is deep, dark, sexy and sweet in a mature way. I am a 45 year old boss lady and this perfume gives me the right vibes always. I also have the oil version I got from Dubai so when I want to amp up the volume of the scent, I wear them together and add a splash of something sweet on top like Ambre Roundatable by Mugler and it’s “step aside, the Queen is here”vibe. This is not a scent that can be pulled off by just anyone so it suits a certain kind of taste and personality. Thankfully I am one of them. Perfectiy unisex and if you want something sweeter as a woman, layer it with Tobacco Vanille and you are good to go.

Dark, spicy, and unapologetically bold, yet smooth and masculine. Tobacco Oud opens with a realistic boozy whiskey note, as you just took a sip of some 15 years aged on the rocks. its 'rougher' than Givenchy's Réserve Privée bourbon note. Then it dives into smoky tobacco, warm spices, oud, and ambery incense. Compared to Oud Wood, it's 'darker vibe' oud, but still western, and compared to Tobacco Vanille, the tobacco is drier and less sweet. Its still pretty ambery, which I suspect the amber is what brings in the 'sweetness' and warmt here, and blends in, and ties in the dry tobacco, spices, whisky, the cold medicinal oud, all together so masterfully. For some reason I also get slight plum japonais vibes from it, but the plums are dried... it gives me some kind of prune nuances. Overall it is blended together very well. Although its not the most mass appealing to the average person that is not into fragrances, it is pretty powerful and long lasting, perfect for cold nights and making a statement. One of the best Tom Fords.

I got my 50 ml bottle back in 2019.That is 6 years ago. At that time I was dissapointed because it did not smell as good as the sample of 4 ml i rcvd at TF counter 3 years earlier and there were still some drops left of that sample. I heard it was supposed to be discontinued and I wanted to secure a bottle before they were all gone. At first I thought of reformulations or the bottle I got had gone bad. It was so much weaker and somehow different from the sample. NOW 6 years later I finally get it. This perfume needs to mature. Like a red wine, whiskey or oud oil. It becomes divine with years. Wow!!! 6 years later it is simply incredible. Heavy, smoky, boozy and sweet. It lasts for 12 hours at least. This is something I use very seldom. 3-4 times per year, like a treat. So in 6 years only 7-8 ml have been used. I will keep this 50 ml bottle for the next 30 years or more 😁 Oh and yes, all the listed notes are there. It is very complex. Get it while you still can, it is no longer available online at TF.

Wow. Despite rumors of dicontiuations, this is still produced in 50ml in the UK, which means you'll occasionally find it on discounters as I did. It took awhile for this one to grow on me. At first I hated it. The initial spray is a rugged tobacco leaf with a skanky underlying stank. I immediately put it up for trade. This was a mistake. As I'd immediately received 100 offers, I couldn't understand the appeal. I sprayed again...heavily. This time I began to understand the true photorealism of the tobacco leaf. There is no perfume on the market that accurately replicates real tobacco leaf like this. None. There is a top sweetness to this also that I couldn't make sense of. It is dirty sweet. It is whiskey. This note took me longest to understand. I've never smelled this in perfumery. It is not sour like whiskey, but more like a pre-distillation mix. Later on in the drydown the true whiskey spill on shirt comes to life in a good way. This has become truly one of my most used scents. I love it.

Sometimes I have my nose glued to the nozzle and I just inhale. A drier, earthier, boozier version of TV. The mature brother of TV that also happens to be the black sheep of the family- he loves his pipe tobacco, whiskey and eats semisweet peppery biscuits while watching Chinatown. He also happens to be a hit-man. I can see the character John Wick wearing this. Sophistication tinged with darkness. Very rich and delicious tobacco opening with a punch of booze of the semisweet variety. The dryness of the tobacco balances the sweetness so it never becomes overpowering. There is a spicy backdrop that is slightly honeyed. It's almost as though it's just there to tease you, tickle your feet until you succumb. Oud, patchouli and sandalwood form a nice base around the tobacco making this a standout concoction. PS- I am a female and wearing this pumps the compliments out like no tomorrow.

I am not sure words can describe this lovely fragrance. Oriental and bold, yes my only regret is that I go nose blind to it for some strange reason almost immediately. I love the warm oud smell the tobacco to me just bolsters that wonderful oud. I would describe this fragrance as a masterpiece and ultra masculine. I have had more unsolicited comments on this fragrance than any other by a such a huge margin that no others can even be compared. I have been warned that it is polarizing but all comments have been compliments and all from the fairer sex. I am just sad that it is no more; why would Tom Ford discontinue this? My hope is that he has something better in store for the fans of this lovely piece of art. I would have gladly bought the largest bottle they made... maybe even two. I may revise this review later as I have my nose on it more. This was love at first scent.

Suggestion: Can we, as the world biggest fragrance community, step up and visit ifra or Tom ford? Or maybe both:p? And ask them politely to bring back all the good stuff like; Tobacco oud, tobacco oud intense, oud wood intense, plum japonais etc.... And also make all the private blend stronger like the used to be! Because it hasn’t been that long ago (2018/2019) that I sprayed oud wood and it lasted about a week on my clothing. And of course I’m not even talking about the first batches (2007/2014), those were like spraying pure perfume oil:p. Or the first time I sprayed Tuscan leather, never forget it had a sillage round 18 hours..... I really miss those moments... Ps.... Of course I would like to see this for more brands and perfumes like Gaultier2, Dior homme intense, Dior homme parfum, bvlgari pour homme etc.....

Batch - A72 (2022) A14 (2014) Tobacco oud Is one on THE best private blends every created and in my personal top 5 Everything from the super realistic tobacco smell to the whisky and the slight dried fruity/plum smell is just perfect. This fragrance is super super deep and masculine. Its NOT a compliment magnet at all its super harsh and "scratchy" but i love it. Very very very good longevity 10+ hours and 3+ hours of projection. I would say its the MOST captivating scent to ever come out of the Tom Ford house. Sadly its discontinued like most of the masterpieces from this house, Estee lauder just ruined everything good about this house with washed releases. I detect very small changes between old and new batches. 10/10 get your bottles while you can please its a must have

Tobacco Oud isn’t just a scent — it’s a status. Dark, dry, smoky woods with a serious, authoritative presence. I loved it enough to buy a second 50ml as a backup and I still won’t touch it... because if the discontinuation rumours are true, this deserves to be hoarded. This is not a “teen clubbing” fragrance and it doesn’t do playful. It suits people who carry weight: calm, composed, disciplined — the type who doesn’t need to raise their voice to be listened to. Worn by the right person, it reads as leadership. I wear it solo most days. But if you want to turn the lights down and dial the menace up: layer with LV Ombre Nomade. That combo is tailored-suit authority with a dangerous edge. For a cleaner, leather-jacket polish: Ombre Leather works surprisingly well.

In my eyes Tobacco Oud is one of the greatest fragrances of all time. An ultra-masculine scent that portrays a powerful businessman entering the room. Strong, exclusive and sophisticated with excellent longevity and performance. That being said, also a scent that can easily wear you and hard to understand at first. It’s an aquired taste and certainly not for everyone, but gets quite a few compliments. A must have for real tobacco fans, the rest of you go buy Tobacco Vanille ;) 10/10 Masterpiece fragrance, one of the very best. EDIT 05/08-2026: Sadly this fragrance is no longer the statement piece it used to be. My new bottle is weak, lacks density and smells less complex. Absolutely gutted about what they did to my all time favorite fragrance.

I had a sample of this a few years ago...if only I could've afforded a bottle then, let alone now! As a woman I LOVE this fragrance for a night out. As I remember it, hot dry smoky wood and tobacco, just what I like. It hits heavy. I purposely rationed it to create scent memories for special events. I'm going to try Oakcha's Aged Tobacco and pray it scratches my itch! I miss this one... Update: My order of Aged Tobacco came in. Certainly smells cheaper than TF, no surprise. the notes are quite similar but in a cheap dupe type of way. It gets the job done, I guess, but one of the key elements in the OG TF was the high class, sleek, luxury feel which is definitely absent. I guess I need to start saving$.

Used to be my favorite fragrance of all time. This reformulation is unacceptable. I still reminisce about this scent, I remember it was my first "niche/designer-niche" fragrance I bought, I had 4 bottles of this gem, 3 before the reformulation, I bought the reformulated bottle when I had 10 last ml in my last bottle. When I just smelled the difference between the 2 bottles in my hands.. there is no way to describe you my facial expression. God I still remember I used to wash my clothes and this scent was still so powerful on them, now it's just a fancy water bottle. Shame. Teaching of this particular fragrance: Nothing lasts forever.

Tobacco and oud in a slightly boozy glue holding everything together. Stimulated olfaction is guaranteed. I simply adore this. Tom Ford has created a wonderful, slightly ashy tobacco scent that is beautifully intertwined with oud to create a simply glorious fragrance. To me it's quite simply as the name suggests - tobacco and oud. Of course there are other notes at play but the most prominent are these two. Agreed, it is not for everyone, and not for every occasion, but for lovers of tobacco and oud this is a partnership made in heaven. Awesome work TF, this is simply brilliant and so, so loveable. Tested this at a Tom Ford store , I understand the hype. It is uber masculine- totally boozy , woody and rough. Many say it is for a certain type of person and i agree. You have to fit that rough , biker , leather type of vibe to be the one wearing the fragrance and not the other way around. Though I don’t see myself wearing this I’d love to have this in my collection, it smells beautiful. Booze, Rough smoke and Woods. 9/10 I cant really speak on performance but I put the card it was sprayed on in the pocket of my jeans and i was still getting whiffs of it in the air around me 2-3 hours later. Insane.

Seen alot of people asking about their batches, if their bottle is fake. I have 2x bottles bought from Tom Ford desk, one old and one newer batch. - The old have the same type of oud as in the old Oud Wood, the "sweet almost animalic oud" which is quite dominating the parfume. -The newer batch have that type of oud which smells more like rosewood/cardmon which lures in the background. Both are great, the older version might be more for your self to wear. I can't tell if your bottle is fake but it could just be the older version or the newer.

Great winter/late fall fragrance. To my nose it starts off with very rich tobacco and whiskey, then settles into a cinnamon, patchouli, incense and oud. Probably best for a man over 40--I'm 50 now and don't think I had the gravitas to pull this off when I was in my thirties--but I think on a strong, feminine woman, this would be very sexy. I rate the fragrance a 9/10, longevity 9/10 (I can still smell it on my skin 8 hours after applying), projection 6/10 and sillage is 7/10. My bottle is from batch code AA2 (production date October 2022).

Today I felt like pulling my 10 year old bottle of Tobacco Oud out. It’s been too long... I’m trying to conserve it because it’s aged so well. I really wish this Tom Ford era was alive again. This is one of the best dark scents I own. The boozy tobacco vibes transport me somewhere like no other tobacco fragrance. It has layers of sweetness and is very masculine. I can’t say enough good things about this fragrance, once it’s all used up, I am going to blind buy the intense version next, I’ve heard great things about it as well.

I'm a fan of old school Tom Ford. Got this because I heard it was being discontinued and wanted to see what it was all about. I'm happy to report that it is 1000% classic Tom Ford at its finest. If you love Black Orchid, Ombre Leather, Noir Extreme, Noir de Noir, Tobacco Vanilla, Tuscan Leather-- that whole era of classic Tom Ford fragrances-- this sits right there with those masterpieces. And has amazing longevity as well, unlike classics that have been reformulated like Oud Wood and are a shadow of their former selves.

I love this perfume so much, unapologetically dirty boozy tobacco like there's no tomorrow, imagine a photorealistic expensive cigar left on an ashtray while there's a good quality whiskey spilled on the side. I understand that a description like that might set some people off, but it is what it is, not everything has to be an instant pleasant and freshy. It is a combination of dirt and luxury. It's like wearing a super expensive tuxedo while wearing a Motorhead t-shirt inside. Tom effing Ford for life!

Very moody, but pleasant. In some ways it very much captures the mood of a party -- unmistakeable whiskey and the spices of food, mellowing out to tobacco and woods that give the impression of a smoking room in an upper class household. I do wonder if my sample is a different formulation, or if it's been stored improperly and lost some "oomph", as it isn't nearly as strong as I was expecting from other reviews. I would almost like it to be stronger, but then again I'm deeply mentally disturbed.

I actually walked into a store. Tried this on, made the decision not to buy this and left. I have no right to have an opinion on anything. Eventually, I saw the light. I noticed about an hour after leaving the store, I couldn't stop smelling the spot on my arm where I had sprayed it. The cooler outside air really helped. I went back today to correct my mistake. I'm now sitting here with these warm, honey-kissed, rich tobacco-y notes wafting up around me. I want to smell like this forever.

TOM FORD TOBACCO OUD 3/26/24 Stellar cologne!! It is aromatic, bold, boozy, cold, dark, dense, smoky, and potent. Office friendly for me too. The epitome of Classy masculine! Fahrenheit OG would be Bad Boy masculine. I bought a 50ml bottle from Fragrancebuy.ca in early 2023. I am already getting 8-9 hours out of it. I can't imagine what it will be like after aging 5 years or so. I love it so much...I bought another bottle. In the TOP FIVE of my collection. Worth every penny.

GOD DAMN. Can I say that on here? Bourbon and ultra sweet tobacco. More vanilla than oud. Powerful and masculine in a way that's never dressed down. This is James Bond's brother who got kicked out of the MI6 and now makes a living counting cards at various Monaco casinos. This is the midway point between of Fidel Castro and Donald Draper. There will never be a time in a normal mans life when this fragrance is appropriate, but you will buy this and you will love it.

I'm obsessed with this fragrance! It's like an older, cooler brother of another scent I dig. At first, I get hit with this strong tobacco and booze smell, but then it mellows out into a dry and not-too-sweet tobacco scent that I love. The incense and leather notes are really freakin' good too. And in the end, it's like this creamy and fancy smell that I can't get enough of. My bottle isn't as strong as my decant, which sucks, but I still use it all the time.

Honestly love this fragrance. It was the first fragrance that made me immediately go “wow, that’s my style”. I dreamed of having it for years in my early 20s, and finally justified the purchase for my wedding day. It’s smoky, complex, but just enough sweetness to that it doesn’t just smell like burnt wood or smoke. It lasts for ages, only really need a 2 sprays max in my opinion. Super gutted to see that this may have been discontinued

Definitely a scent for someone who's confident. Oud and tobacco are very prominent. There's a certain sweetness though that resembles marzipan. Tobacco is ashy. I'm surprised how wearable it is considering some of the reviews below. As a niche lover I have to say I was expecting something more unapologetic and hardcore. There's no doubt Tom Ford has changed throughout the years. Tobacco Oud is a good entry level niche fragrance.

There are several reviews below that nail this on the head, no need to repeat them. This one can be polarizing, but I absolutely love it. My wife strongly dislikes it however, so I rarely break it out, which is a good thing, it'll make what little I have left last a bit longer. One more thought...they got the name wrong. Love this fragrance so much. When I first tried it on, I walked around the block and got so many turning heads, I felt like a CEO of an enterprise! I decided to buy it straight away. I bought two 50ml bottles, one for use, one to save further down the track - according to Tom Ford, they have stopped production of Tobacco Oud, I am so glad I have not opened the second bottle still in its original box!

It is actually a tragedy that this was discontinued. Sure it was overpriced as hell, like most Tom Ford stuff, but it was also one of the best, most unique scents ever. I wear a lot of different niche perfumes, of all types... Nothing gets me compliments like this one. I hope they bring it back, without touching the formula, we all know how that goes. Treasuring my last bottle.

This is probably the best scent from the private line, to me. Smell is subjective, so I say that to show how much I love it. I smell all of the notes listed. Its a boozy, incense / tobacco fragrance with the perfect amount of sweetness. It smells so expensive, and well it is. This is such a work of art. A perfect dark / winter scent that makes me feel warm.

Very elegant, darker fragrance. Smoky, but not obnoxiously so. Just the right touch of tobacco with a subtle sweetness. Some tobacco fragrances smell like your grandpa's couch, but this is not one of those. Great for cool weather. The preformance is adequate, but not what it should be for the price. Overall 8/10. (Would be 9 if not for the preformance)

Believe it or not but this fragrance still can be found on the shelves sometimes, and I happened to be extra lucky due to this particular store even having sale on every perfume. One of the best perfumes ever produced by Tom Ford, which is saying quite a lot, is classy smelling fragrance, which is set to turn heads. Love it, and I’m sure you will too!

Kinda close to masterpiece tier, this is certainly in the same genre as Laudano Nero but that smells like you’re smoking in your mom’s moldy ass basement and Tobacco Oud smells like smoking a cigar in a tucked away speakeasy having a glass of liquor, I love this although I’m not noticing any oud tbh this is like a textbook smoky tobacco scent to me

These newer reviewers are over reacting. They have a very young taste. This is acquired, but it is so beautiful, dirty and sexy I can’t get enough and my girlfriend can’t either. There is something behind this fragrance that is captivating. Sample sample sample! Maybe keep saying this is bad so us who love it can keep it even more sacred.
