"No. Give it! it is to be enjoyed right away." I said to the amusement of the Sephora-Plage representative of Saint Tropez, all the while sampling this eau de parfum on my wrist, then on my chest, opening the collar of my dress shirt as she was seemingly leaning forward. Tobacco Vanille unexpectedly took me back to a very private place, where laughter was cheap and colours saturated. I used to be on the Right at the time and perhaps a bit emotionally disconnected, and "She" was on the other far-end of the political spectrum. Beautiful, strong, opinionated and witty. Naturally we clashed—Genevieve called me an Imperialist and I called her a child—she stormed out of the debate and I followed ... but before we could understand what had taken hold over us, here we were, lustfully rolling in the grass of our University. She used to perfume herself with nothing but vanilla extract while I reeked of those Davidoff cigarillos I favour to this day... But the real Tobacco Vanille is far more eloquent. Yet it is an idea refined to its simplest and purest form like the most accomplished architectural projects. This eau de parfum is a opulent Niche caprice. It is a manly unsmoked pipe tobacco—It's tin is flavoured with cloves, anise and wood sap that sensually tango with a moist and candid Bourbon vanilla, a creamy tonka bean and what must be Criollo (a very high quality cocoa that represents less than 3% of the world's production) imported straight from madagascar—There is also a very playful note which echoes the smell of a little Grand Marnier spilled on an old leather sofa and expands further the underlying theme of the old Gentleman's Club so cherished by Tom Ford. Tobacco Vanille is a simple way of saying very elaborate things. ...Genevieve and I would soon abandon our ambitions and made plans to elope to the complete dismay of our respective comrades, but tragedy would decide otherwise (To those of you who have known this kind of quiet rage and survived it, I salute you.). "Magnifique!" Back in Saint Tropez, the Sephora representative had just woken me from my memoria loci, studying me with those dark almond shaped eyes and nervously playing with the tip of her tight, tight ponytail (...). To quote Oscar Wilde, "Everything in the world is about sex, except sex. Sex is about power." and Tobacco Vanille certainly adds to mine. Now I must add it's newly released beard oil to my routine.

I've been absolutely dying to get my nose on this scent for basically the last year. Despite its high price tag, something about it has called to me since I started this hobby. Been wanting to get a decant for a while, but it just never worked out that way. Finally pulled the trigger because I found a sealed bottle for about $260 shipped, which is the lowest I've peeped since I started looking. Aaaaand I've smelled it before. And that's putting it lightly. Smelling this was almost like unlocking a core memory that's been hidden away for years. I'm 90% sure that I've smelled this on other people before in the wintertime, but there's also a very distinct possibility that I'm wrong, because this smells like any number of other things too. People have said it of this and other fragrances, but this is straight Christmas in a bottle. First thought that came to my mind when I smelled it was a Christmas tree, even if it doesn't smell like a tree would. I definitely get the tobacco and vanilla, but the dried fruits definitely take precedence over the vanilla for me. And those dried fruits smell kind of like those bunches of cinnamon pine cones that they start putting out around Halloween/Thanksgiving time. But there's also a very sleek tobacco smell, less like a cigar and more like that nice, moist tobacco you get when opening a fresh pack of cigarettes. I don't think there's a boozy note in here, but the notes wrap together in a way that almost makes it smell like a liqueur of dried fruits, cinnamon, and tobacco. Or maybe a compote would be more accurate. This fragrance also ages beautifully. Got batch code A91, which my usual batch checking website says was created nearly 6 years ago. No sign of aging though. In fact, it might have even gotten better with age. No alcoholic harshness on initial spray, just pure opulence. This isn't the tobacco fragrance I was expecting or even hoping for, but it is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. A solid 9.5. I think Tobacolor is my personal favorite tobacco scent, but this is a worthy contender, and a great addition to my collection. I'll be wearing this on every Christmas going forward.

This was my signature scent for almost 10 years (as a woman). To say that I adore it is putting it lightly. It was the first ever bottle of perfume I ever got gifted and the only one I wanted to own for years. I was so strongly associated with this scent in my late teens-early 20s that people said they remembered me when they sniffed this at stores. This is the scent I remember the first time I drank alcohol or when I had my first kiss. For me, it's full of memories and indissociable from them. It's long lasting, but at some point all my clothes and furniture had traces of it seeing as it was the only stuff I wore. For me, it is a classic. I understand how it can be polarizing. It projects a lot at first and I get how the middle tonka and cocoa can feel super heavy for some mixed with the tobacco. I might also love it because I'm a smoker and it blended very well with the cigarette smell but, throughout the years, I was complimented on it tons and told it matched my personality. Perhaps that's why I loved it and felt like it made sense for me - I was also a quite polarizing person. There's something about it that contains very perfectly the final years of the 2000s going into the 2010s and whatever was in the air back then. I don't know how I'd feel about it if I was trying it out now for the first time - who's to say I wouldn't hate it, too. I will always own this bottle and wear it sometimes, despite not having it be my signature anymore. It holds a special place in my heart and likely always will. It combines a loud teenage rebellion with a softness and complacency that I appreciate and identify with. It's not for the faint of heart and it's not a fragrance most people will like on themselves. It's not a blind buy and I'd recommend it for people who enjoy standing out to some extent. It makes a statement that you can love or hate, but it makes it extremely well.

Tom Ford's cult classic Tobacco Vanille carries a true "old money" aura, but let me say this upfront: it is definitely not for everyone. Don't let the bold spice and tobacco leaf in the opening mislead you; if you are expecting a dark, smoky, and harsh tobacco, you might be disappointed. Instead, this is a very soft pipe tobacco heavily dipped in the syrupy sweetness of vanilla and cacao. As it dries down, the tonka bean and dried fruits step in, making that famous vanilla highly dominant. On some skin types, the tobacco can disappear entirely, leaving behind nothing but a dense vanilla-spice cake sensation. This gourmand-bordering sweetness is exactly what divides the crowd. For this reason, it is absolutely not safe for a blind buy; you must test it on your skin. As for its performance, it is an absolute beast. Anything more than two sprays in a closed environment can easily become suffocating for both you and those around you. Anyone who lives or grew up in the UK will immediately associate how TV smells with all things Christmas. Think mince pies, Christmas cake with brandy, church candles, mulled wine, a smoky fireplace, Christmas crackers, cigarettes after a work Christmas party. Tom Ford describes TV as "reminiscent of the very finest of private clubs" but I think this is a very languid description, mostly because it is not particularly heavy on the tobacco, and instead (at least for me) it's defined by the dried fruits and spices. To stifle any confusion: in the case of TV, that is absolutely a good thing. The T and V are there, but they simply round it out. If you weren't wary already, beware of influencer opinions on this one. TV is often described as "dangerous" or "sexy" or "dark". I do not think any of these adjectives are remotely correct. TV is welcoming, warm, and cosy. This is sexy to a lot of people, so perhaps that one's valid, just not in the way it's made out to be. I'm not really a fan of Tom Ford's private line. Except for this one. TF discontinued so many good perfumes from their private line but luckily held on to this. Go for the 30 or 50ml and try to find it below retail price, and you'll have plenty to come back to winter after winter. I’m going to do another review of Tobacco Vanille, a perfume I absolutely love. It was one of the first “expensive” fragrances I ever tried, and the one that really broke tradition for me. My first unisex perfume, and honestly, my first crush on Tom Ford. The first time I smelled it was through a blind buy. I live somewhere without perfume shops, so everything I own has to be ordered online. That first spray opened with a strong wave of spices—but not synthetic or sharp. It reminded me of an artisanal chai tea: warm, smooth, and delicious. Nothing aggressive like cinnamon hitting your nose. This is a refined, almost edible blend. Soon after, I noticed a very realistic tobacco leaf note paired with a beautiful, edible vanilla. As it dries down, hints of wood, tonka bean, and cocoa begin to appear, but they never take over. They stay subtle, supporting the composition rather than dominating it. The final dry down is quite dry, yet incredibly persistent. I love wearing this fragrance when I’m dressed up—it honestly feels like a crime to wear it with simple clothes. This is a scent for empowered men or women. Think long leather coat, red lipstick, a blue-and-white striped shirt tucked into wide-leg jeans, finished with a leather belt. You have to dress to impress to truly do this perfume justice. I love it. I adore it!

The cult classic, for good reason. "Christmas in a bottle", perhaps in the stereotypical sense. Maybe I can agree with that. It's just unfortunate that where I live, Christmas is accompanied by the sweltering summer. Almost the blueprint for a whole genre of fragrances at this point, leading some to think there's nothing unique about it. I'd call this the "Aventus dilemma", but that'd be weird considering this is the senior. So, now that other things "smell like" this, or also achieve what it set out to do, that must mean that there's nothing special about Tobacco Vanille? Look, go for the alternatives by all means, but put some respect on the king's name. Yes, it smells fantastic. Opening can be harsh to the unprepared, as the spicy qualities are highly concentrated there. Some will love that, some will hate it. Otherwise, you're getting an actually realised version of this formula done right. Warm, sweet and long-lasting. It's the perfect package for this scent profile.

Finally, I got it (50 Ml) after years of hesitation. Well, to my nose (Contrary to widespread impressions), the opening burst with plum-like dried fruity note that strongly reinforces the gourmand impression, with the vanilla note in the background softening the accompanied spicy tobacco note, it makes it less harsh than tobacco note of Aramis Havana (One of my favorites). Despite its widespread popularity among other Tom Ford fragrances (PRIVATE BLIND), as beauty of smell to me it comes in second order after Noir de Noir, Arabian Woods, and the legendary Italian Cypress (Unfortunately the last two are out of production). It's not safe for blind buy. It's a winter fragrance (Unsuitable for summer at all). Regarding the performance I got 2024 patch with excellent longevity (6 hours on skin and +10 hours on cloths) and below average sillage (It becomes skin scent after 2.5 hours) which could be easily enhanced by applying 2 sprays each 2 hours.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is autumn in a bottle, that is, as best as I can describe it. The scent and vibe this gives off just reminds me of falling orange leaves on a cold autumn afternoon while wearing a very sophisticated outfit. This is old money in the cooler and cloudy season. Rich vanilla, smooth tobacco, and added spices and woods make this a perfect signature in the autumn and winter time if you are quite classy and refined. Smells quite gourmand, but it is perfectly unisex, an absolute must-have for the person wearing Chelsea boots, a chunky knitted sweater, leather gloves, and even a brown bag wrapped around them. Tobacco Vanille doesn't announce your presence; it invites it, makes people want to get closer and closer to you to smell it. This could honestly be a huzz magnet if you got that right aesthetic on you. Trying to capture that old money, preppy aesthetic in orange autumn vibes? Tobacco Vanille is yours.

This perfume just screams “ I GOT MONEYYYYYYYY, AND I’M LETTING YOU KNOW”. Heads will be turned wearing this perfume. A man wearing this perfume going out with his guy friends, will get the most attention. Everyone will look at him when the ober askes who to give the bill to. A Woman wearing this perfume just screams “ I’m independent, and can take good care of myself “. Wearing this scent to a normal 9-5 job will have your coworkers think you don’t need this job, and that you got stacks of money. LOL The notes I pickup are: Spices, Vanilla, Cacao , Tobacco, and a little hint of Fruit wich makes the perfect blend. I would personally wear this fragrance in the winter time or when I know that I will be in an airconditioned room. It last 8+ hours on my skin. Although this is the perfect fragrance, it is NOT for the weak !!! 5/5 Star

I dont know if its just me, I really like it and i bought it on a wrong recommendation, i smelled a petfumenon someone so i approached and asked them about it and they said it was "Tobaccoo Vanille" so i immediately put it on my list but when i bought it, it was NOT the one i smelled on that guy, nevertheless this smells amazing, its within the notes and smells that i enjoy/like, no complaints there, the only complain i have is its longevity, i can spray it now or even over spray it and within 2h its only me who smells it it doesnt radiate much, i can smell it on my shirts HOURS later but if i ask my friend to smell my shirt they can only faintly smell it, so for the price; due to that i think its overpriced waaay over priced! But it is still a great smell in my book because i enjoy it alot.

It ́s a little bit difficult to write down this review because of those feelings inside. I don ́t want to be much personal, just sincere - because this is the scent of my love & our home. For me, there is something very familiar about this perfume. It reminds me of my life, my memories, my man. All the cigarettes he smoked while he was listening to my stories. Fluffy vanilla latte on Sunday mornings, the taste of Old English dark fruit cake that I have been baking every Christmas. Hennessy cognac for goodnight /while we were listening to our favorite song - Change Is Gonna Come/. Sweet home, sweet times. Tobacco, cigarette smoke, cigar ash, delicately sweet vanilla, dried fruits, cloves, cinnamon - that ́s what I love, what I want, what I need. That is Tobacco Vanille.

On my skin, Tobacco Vanille is a rich, comforting cloud of warm tobacco leaf wrapped in mixed spices (very clove/cinnamon-leaning) and a creamy vanilla–cacao accord. It’s sweet but not cloying – more like spiced vanilla custard with pipe tobacco shavings than a boozy, smoky bar – and it stays smooth and mellow from start to finish. Projection is moderate-to-strong for the first couple of hours before it settles into a cozy, intimate aura, and I get around 6–8 hours on skin, with traces on clothes the next day. This is absolutely a cold-weather and evening scent (winter and chilly autumn/spring days are its home turf). If you enjoy warm, spicy vanilla gourmands with a refined tobacco twist and zero ashtray vibes, this is a gorgeous and addictive choice. 🍂🍦💯

Such a misunderstood fragrance. I went to a traditional tobacco farm in Cuba and they were adding a mixture of ingredients to the leaves to add flavour before hanging them in barns to dry before being rolled into cigars. Depending on the farm, the mixture includes things like honey, sugar cane syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and rum. I was able to smell the scent from the drying leaves and the freshly rolled cigars, and you've guessed it, they smell just like Tobacco Vanille. For me, I associate the smell with hot sun and cuban music, so it's not a winter fragrance for me, let alone a festive one. This stuff is super potent so you don't need much. Max two sprays and let it sit. It's a masterpiece that needs to be used delicately and given time to understand.

Tobacco Vanille is my favorite perfume. I find it extraordinary. During the first few minutes you can clearly perceive the spices which give it character and presence. As it dries down on the skin, the vanilla emerges accompanied by elegant tobacco – nothing harsh. The combination is warm, enveloping and addictive. It has very good longevity on skin. You don't need many sprays to enjoy it or to leave a trail. It's best suited for cold weather, especially at night. I don't consider it an everyday fragrance, but rather for special moments. It's a unisex scent that can be worn by both men and women who enjoy the tobacco vanilla combination.

Definitely a mature scent, reserved for men in their late 20's and beyond as to some younger crowds it can smell like a backwoods. for a 28 year old, its a distinguished 'correct-for-my-age' fragrance that, as the reviews say, you should wear on special occasions. You really either love it or hate it, and I fall int he former category. opens with the tobacco scent and dries down into a sweet vanilla with earthy tones. I would imagine wearing this to a night time meeting of any sorts, suit and tie event with an open area (it could project too much in an enclosed space), bar or lounge (at night) or anything of sophistication.

Oh my!!!! This is my daily. My very favorite. Rich tobacco scent but it's not a fresh wet tobacco, kind of a washed cleaned tobacco scent, a dry tobacco leaf. Vanilla is prominent on the dry down. The spiciness is sharp and crisp. I get such a crisp clove scent. Anise is there but quiet. Spiciness just flows on and on. The tobacco and creamy vanilla just work so perfectly. Not overpowering, just there. So nicely there. Id like my house, my car, my friends houses and cars all to smell like this. I'll take a body lotion, air freshener, , after shave, a shampoo, soap and a deodorant all in TFTV scent, ty. I kinda like it. 😉

Tobacco Vanille doesn’t give off a smoker’s or cigarette smell, despite what the name might suggest. Instead, it opens earthy, slightly sweet, and strong enough to last through the night. The tobacco leaf note is realistic and blends beautifully with the edible-style vanilla. As it settles, I pick up hints of wood, tonka bean, and cocoa. These stay in the background, supporting the main notes without taking over. The final dry down is quite dry but remains impressively persistent. Not blind buy safe. Everyone's nose / skin is different. Your experience may differ.

I love when my husband wears this perfume, he smells so gorgeous and sexy in it. You can definitely pick up the tobacco and spicy notes, along with a sweet vanilla that feels more mature because of the tobacco. It’s not gourmand or cute at all , it’s warm, confident, and grown. On me, though, it pulls much spicier, with only the faintest hint of sweetness, almost savory, somehow. It’s probably just my body chemistry, but I really don’t like how it smells on me.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is a very interesting fragrance where I can pick up cocoa, tobacco, and vanilla at different moments on my skin, which makes it quite fun to wear. It’s definitely a winter scent with strong projection that gets noticed from a distance. I don’t think it’s safe for blind buy, but those who love it will probably love it fully. When used in the right dose, it feels very charismatic. It truly shines in cold weather and evening wear.
