White Suede

WHITHE SUEDE I love the musk and the clean aspect of the fragrance. Some days it smells of clean laundry to me, and mild soap and soft wash detergent, other days I smell the suede aspect more so and I do enjoy that as well. Its warm and clean at the same time. Like a white suede jacket , soft and cozy , turns into a skin scent completely, smells better than skin, after all , suede IS skin :) Update ThIs smells soooo good. Smells of suede for sure, what a genius fragrance. Equally gourgous on a man. Its very classy yet quite casual At he same time. Understated elegance. It has the smell of a leather butique , new purses and new fine leather jackets , what a sexy skin scent. On the other hand it smells of clean / dirty laundry. I smell sandalwood musk and saffron as well as suede. I can not detect the rest of the notes but they must , in combination ,do an amazing job in making this fragrance smell beautiful. Update , white suede is slowly becoming my very favourite perfume. It's not really like perfume it's just a really good musky smell and that's what I love about it. So it's not a statement fragrance or going out smell but rather a skin smell , its sexy and musky or as my friend says it smells of linen sheets , freshly pressed , I can see that , I love that ! Some people think this is discontinued , but it's not. They changed the bottle from this to brown to go along with the other Tom Fords. As the rest of the musk line was discontinued they didn't want a lonely white cap soldier . It's more elegant in the dark bottle. And protects the juice better too. I have been on a search for a musk. While walking through Saks, I purchased a bottle of Kiehl's original musk and the sales lady guided me over to Tom Ford where I tried White Suede. This fragrance baffles me. It seems to operate on two levels of the brain. The surface level says "no big deal." It is a basic fresh/clean smell that truly does smell like a store full of expensive leather jackets or purses. Nice, but nothing special. But this musk also operates on a deeper level of my brain (the primitive, animal part near the amygdala). This is the part of the brain sometimes associated with emotion and feelings. White Suede Musk activates this section greatly. First, I just cannot pull my wrist away from my nose in order to stop sniffing. Secondly, I want my life to smell like this. I want my home, car, clothes, and my skin to smell this good. For some reason, when I wear this scent my life seems richer, happier, more satisfying. It makes me wonder why this is not the most popular smelling fragrance in the world - doesn't everyone want to smell like this? Then the upper level of the brain takes over and says, "it isn't anything special; hence few people buy it." So, White Suede Musk by Tom Ford is really nothing special in regards to the fragrance world. It is pleasant, clean and simple in many ways. You will find many scents that are more beautiful and worth the money. But I will buy this musk and wear it as much as possible because for me, it operates on a primitive level and invokes great joy and happiness in my mind. And that makes it so worth it.

I wanted a suede fragrance to replace the discontinued Donna Karan signature scent in the swan bottle. I tested Tom Ford White Suede a few times at the mall and noticed how different it was from DK in notes and sillage, staying close to skin but lasting several hours. I fell in love with the impression it gave me of a sophisticated woman in red lipstick, drinking Manhattans at a bar, smoking cigarettes and extinguishing her lipstick-stained butts in an ashtray. I always wanted a bottle, but the price is too high for me. Fortunately, I just received a birthday gift certificate to an Arabian perfume house in metro Chicago called Yom & Layl. They custom blend perfumes and mix whatever you want onsite while you wait. The perfumes are 40% concentrated and prices range from $49 for 1 oz. to $85 USD for 3.3 oz. I tested their White Suede impression called Belle's Suede and found that the notes match the original. I brought my bottle home in a custom black box with a gold seal and matching bag. It seems to last longer on me than the original. Online reviews of this merchant note how perfumes like these with concentrated oils age like fine wine.

This fragrance is pure sex. Not a powerful sexy bomb. But still, pure sex. The elegance of the scent reminds me of a wealthy, mature and indipendent woman. Her sexiness comes from her self consciousness: she doesn’t need to show off her skin to become other people’s desire. Her clothes are very minimalistic, ton sur ton combinations, her makeup is barely there and she keeps her hair in a clean bun. Her bag is usually a taupe Kelly or a Phantom by Céline. You can detect her scent only if very, very close: are you lucky enough? Although the fragrance is labeled as a feminine scent, you should try the fragrance even if you’re a man: in this case the sexiness comes from the contrast between the feminine elegance of the fragrance itself and the natural odor of a male skin. The result is not a clearly sex statement achieved by masculine fragrances such as Bel Ami or any other leather-patchouli-vetiver based scent: it is subtle and definitely more intriguing. Give it a try! PS: you’re gonna love this if you come from Narciso, both For Her or Narciso (it works even if your Arab customer doesn’t want anything smelling like Oud).

Love at first sniff 😍 If you are like me who has love-hate relationship with a leather note & love-hate relationship with Tom Ford fragrances, give this a try! Everything is so delicately blended into one wonderful smell that I am shook myself. I was very hesitant to smell this giving the name, but oh, boy! This is not the leather note in Tuscan Leather! Thanks God 🙏. This is... 📝 well, I can't even describe it, it is so well blended that I can't pick up the individual notes! The overall feeling is utterly feminine, elegant with some fresh air, slightly sweet and floral. There is something incredibly familiar to me in the later stages.... like I have smelled something similar on my Mum when I was a kid. It doesn't mean that it is old fashioned! On the contrary! I remember a lot of pleasant smells from 80s that the modern perfumery neglects!!!️ For its own shame! They pour hundreds of similar smells which often smell "cheap". And boring and not innovative 👎 For me, White Suede is a masterpiece, easily wearable for every season and occasion 👏👏👏

Wow, wow, wow. I love White Suede. Chanel’s Cuir de Russie is a god-tier fragrance, and this feels like a modernized take on that classic. Both feature a powdery floral abstraction over an animalic base. There’s a skanky, smoky leather core in CdR, but here, that’s swapped out for a creamy, buttery suede, reminiscent of an airier, fattier version of the leather note found in other Tom Ford scents. It’s fresh but substantive, casually elegant, and in its own sly way, sexy as hell. When approaching the Tom Ford fragrance counter, you’re greeted with a line that sprawls and sprawls. Some in the collection are roaring behemoths, attracting far more attention and cult reverence. Tune out that “volume” for this much tamer gem. White Suede purrs, poised to seduce those who favor subtlety over braggadocio. An absolute must-try for musk and leather fans too.

A truly wearable, easy reach, clean, soft, floral, with a hint of warmth and spices, smooth suede forward perfume. As with most Tom Ford’s perfumes, I like or love the scent, but I just can’t justify the price for the performance. As soft, clean, polished and pretty is smells, the hefty price tag is too much for me personally to consider purchasing a bottle. I haven’t tested it side by side with Musk K to be able to assess the performance, but if memory serves me well, Musk K lasted a bit longer when I have tested it. And price range is more affordable with Ella K, so if I am deciding to purchase a luxurious clean musky scent, I am definitely leaning towards Musk K. I want to state it clearly, White Suede and Musk K are not the same scent, but they give me similar, expensive, clean girl vibes. Really nice perfume, but way overpriced IMO!!!

I believe I could tell which bottle each of the reviewers here had to explore. And I am sorry that most of them missed the chance to make that remark. I ended up with the clear bottle, and quite underwhelmed. I loved the original, wanted it for a long time, and when I finally ordered mine - it was changed. And not just the bottle, but the actual fragrance is significantly more tame, as one of the reviews finely articulated. Or kind of "like Animalique without the animalic", as someone wrote. I guess those, who hated the "cigarette smell" here, could still enjoy the clear bottle version, because it's rather sterile now. Or they could simply go for the much more affordable and no inferior Noa. I think I will go for Mateu Rosendo No 5, in search of that sexy, dirty something, underneath, no more present in White Suede.

This is the bougiest iteration of a skin scent. This reminds me so much of my grandma, who was never without a Marlboro Gold in hand, and I mean this in the best way possible. Completely agree with comments below that mention white linen and clean sheets, one of my favourite memories of her is from a holiday we went on while I was still very young. We stayed in a beautiful white villa, and she wore all-white linen outfits with her gold jewellery for the entire trip. Whenever I smell White Suede, I picture a bougie older woman in her white matching set and a gold ring on every finger, a cigarette lit on her balcony over the pool. So so elegant, maybe too mature for me, but it's so cosy and familiar that I still love to wear it. Wearing this on the skin is an absolute must as this fragrance wants to melt into you!

I typically like scents with some sweetness, and this one is slightly bitter, so I didn't expect it to grow on me so immensely. It does vaguely smell like cigarettes in the opening, which I do not like. But it develops after 10-20 minutes, and I adore it so so much. It is more of a soft musky floral mixed with a sharp earthiness. They balance each other out. The aromatics combine to give a slightly bitter yet cozy clean scent. It's pretty fresh and uplifting. When it has really dried down, after about 4 hours and the sharp earthy vibe has faded, the sweet amber finishes the fragrance strongly. It's unique but also easy to enjoy, white t-shirt clean with a touch of bitter, a mood booster. One of my favorites from Tom Ford, just excellent.

After all, "suede" here can be traced back to synthetic molecules. But how come the molecules in this transparent liquid mimic the velvety and luxurious feeling of suede? 90% of the scent profile is clean and musky. Some may argue, white musk is probably one of the most boring offers and low-hanging fruits on the market. I think White Suede is like a high-end camera. It takes photos and videos as any ordinary cameras do. But the 10% advancement makes a huge difference in quality. Saffron and tea might be the 10%. They give the scent profile a slight bitterness. The market is oversaturated with sweet perfumes and I almost forget how refreshing and "healthy" bitter notes smell like.

My all time fave. Top ranked! Very, very first spray - ashtray. I wonder why ashtray was not listed in the pyramid. But a fatcat ashtray - fortune lodge ashtray. I like it though. Ashtray you envy and want to be a part of. This is a very positive review! I actually wear this with pleasure mid summer hot weather. But I also wear it with pleasure in January freezing cold. Yes, name it wet wipes but in best possible way. On my skin this perfume is something I could always wear - I feel myself clean and good smelling. I also find it very versatile - Sunday mood, sporty spirit, lover hugs, motherhood hustle, let's talk serious business, office speed - it suits it all.

Sophisticated musk, woody, classy but clean leather. I bought this in 2011 or 2012, I was in my early twenties. It has become creamier over the years and I consider it my “big girl” musk. I love musks and fresh scents and this one is the most grown up that I own. For me it’s nice to wear to brunch, special occasions in the afternoons, casual dates. Some other musks I own are diptyque l’eau papier, parfum de marley valaya, phlur missing person, margiela bubble bath, maison louis marie no. 4 bois de balincourt..white suede is the most unique musk out of the bunch for me, no doubt because of the leather it gives it an animalistic quality.

Omigosh, I love this one. I’ve been craving it lately and I’ve been wearing it to bed. It’s luxe and effortless. I feel like a rich person wearing this. I’ve loved it since first sniff, but because of my growing collection, I’ve neglected it. I’m definitely paying attention now. There is something so comforting about this, but not in cute way. It’s a minimalist’s dream perfume. It’s understated, chic and professional. I imagine someone with a white blazer, crisp white shirt, sunglasses, gold dainty jewelry and light blue denim jeans wearing this. It’s cool and casual, and honestly smells like old money.

It starts out with a baby powder smell, but on the dry down it turns into a more pleasant suede with musk with some white florals, but it was hard to tell what florals they were without looking at the note list. I weirdly get a small reminder of Tuscan Leather which is probably the suede note but I view this one more appropriate for both genders in comparison. It's well balanced and it feels quite special and super comforting as well. I've grown to really like this one actually, I recommend giving it a try if you like Soleil Blanc, Tuscan Leather or Tubéreuse Nue even.

Good-NESS this is beautiful! This was a blind buy for me. Based solely on the notes, I knew I would like it. And honestly, I love it. I get a powdery, white floral, soft, musky, tea opening that slowly dries down with a hint of woody, sweet suede. Not animalic at all, though. It also gives me a hint of Pond's Cold Cream. If you know, you know. The closest thing in my collection that this reminds me of Chanel les Exclusifs 1957, but this musk is sweeter, less aldehydic. But the base is very similar. No regrets! Other than I wish I had bought the big bottle!

I’m typically not a fan of leather scents as many remind me of a hardware store, but the delicate floral notes and slight musk makes this one surprisingly elegant and pleasant. Definitely runs a bit mature, but in a good way, like a vintage designer bag. After a few hours though I find it fades to a more generic powder, and the projection is pretty mild. Fine for daily wear if your goal is just to smell clean and classy without being obviously perfumed, but I’d grab something else if I wanted to make a statement.

I smelt this scent from a Tom Ford Candle in a gentlemen’s lounge, a sweet flowery musk and soft creamy white leather scent. It just clicked on me, it is like a nice-smelling classy guy/girl sitting on a luxurious white italian leather sofa. I am typically not into leather fragrances esp the strong bitter leather scents but the leather note in here is so smooth, classy, softly elegant, and totally unisex imo. When I smell the candle, I just knew that I have to get this fragrance soon, and wear it to work. 🤭

Sexy ashtray vibes. This is one of those fragrances that I shouldn't like but I actually love, and that make me question what happened in my formative years to cause me to like this. It's a little smokey, a little leathery, a little powdery, a little musky. This is a more feminine version of F*cking Fabulous, but still unisex. It's for when you want to smell clean and dirty at the same time. Wholesome people won't like this. If you had a dysfunctional childhood then it's a 10/10. Full bottle worthy.

This is different to my usual floral preferences but I absolutely love it! Since I bought this I've worn nothing else! This definitely smells unisex to me and isn't a crowd pleasing attention grabber, it's better than that! It just smells like you, it's natural and animalic but also clean and powdery with a slight hint of soapiness. Definitely my new signature. I haven't smelt this on anybody on yet I somehow feel like this is familiar to me. I'm not sure what it reminds me of I just adore it

I haven't worn it yet as it was a anniversary gift bought yesterday 🤣 I've smelled it on numerous occasions though and everytime I'm just taken away by it's simple yet intriguing scent. I LOVE the suede note - very warm and inviting from the beginning .. but maybe not for the faint of noses. The tea note mixed with musk gives a clean and refined aura and the amber gives it this creamy... Cosy atmosphere. I feel that this can be worn in many different occasions. I already love it!!!

The thyme opening smells exactly like when you pinch thyme leaves and smell the oils on your fingers, which is nice when cooking, but a bit too astringent for a perfume opening imo. It doesn’t last long, though, and then the Lily of the valley takes the spotlight while the base notes make it a very warm fragrance. I’m a lover of white florals so this is absolutely lovely to my nose. I kept getting whiffs throughout the day and I loved it more and more. Nose is Harry Frémont, btw

There's something so nostalgic about White Suede. She smells reminiscent of my grandmother's laundry room. Very clean, fresh, and slightly floral. She definitely takes some time to get used to, but once you settle in her skin she's pretty nice. Definitely not a perfume to wear if you want to draw in attention and compliments. It's more of a relaxing scent for you to enmesh in her glory. Definitely a great take on musk. I think she's perfect for the fall, winter, & early spring.

I had tried it on the airport ,among dozens of others and all I could detect was this delicate flowery-soapy Cacharel Noa . I even thought to myself that this one is unusually normal for TF . So I ordered 100ml ., I opened it just now and there it is-SUEDE . It's stunning imo . I mean Im a kind of person who finds Dzing! lovelly and acceptable,so no biggie with flowery White Suede ,but I recommend to invest in big bottle after some consideration;).

Cool, fluffy, and dry. Not sweet, but smells lived-in and human, definitely you-but-better. The musk and suede are equally balanced. Reminds me of the cool autumn air, one of my favourite smells. Absolutely lovely. Performance is moderate. I like wearing this to the office and I reapply a bit after 4-5 hours. I believe you can easily go nose-blind to this scent. When I spray it on the back of my hand, the scent lasts quite a while.

Ok, so this is incredible. In the beginning it smelt a lot like something my mother would wear. I detested it. Powdery and too flowery-sweet for my taste. What remains after a while is a beautiful powdery floral leather scent. I could definitely get the thyme and lily of the valley. The sweetness faded and it ended up smelling of a more spring-y powdery suede scent. Classy, more feminine, perfect for light academia aesthetics.

love love love. a very pretty scent, clean without it being sterile or too soapy. literally softness, cherubs and angels in a perfume. smells like baby powder in a pleasant way. you can smell the suede note when it dries down, but it works really well. it gives the powder note a little more maturity. your skin but better in a super chic way. it does last quite a while, but it settles close to skin after an hour or two.

It is leather, not ashtray. Do yourselves a favor and train your nose better. I don't even wanna say anything about "bandaid" "artificial this or that" comments without humiliating them. Definitely a great scent to draw in attention and compliments at office meetings or formal occasions not for clubbing or girls night out lol. Totally unisex. Not loud but I can smell it on my skin after 6+ hours.

Sexy yet squeaky clean. It’s nothing new but it just smells classy and fresh. For some of the Chanel perfume, I wear them interchangeable with dupes and I can’t tell the difference. But for this, I can always tell if it’s the real deal. There’s just something different about it. I always wear it when I feel sluggish. It’s great to layer with other perfume as well. Performance is 4-6 hours on me.

It's beautiful and musky! I agree with the reviewers that it's a very soft and warm kind of musk. I do not detect any incense or ash-tray like notes. The perfume is not strong either. It's very airy and light to me. I mostly detect leather and musk, but I fail to detect much of the florals. I actually prefer that as I am not a fan of the lily, it's a bit too floral for me usually.

When there's a lot to do, all the loud smells are annoying, and all you want to do is lie under a plaid in bed next to your cat washing up. This perfume smells just like the clean fur on the belly of a British cat. But only if the spray is done on the body. If on paper or clothes in a closet, it can actually smells like an ashtray. Suede needs a warm body. Unisex.

Kind of gives off grandma's house vibes to an extent but that goes away after the first 15 minutes. It's clean and powdery but is of so slightly animalic... not in a bad or off-putting way though. This really projects off my skin and I struggle to reach for it when it's warmer than 50*F but it's great for winter when it has space to project.

This is cuddling, stroking and smelling your partner’s skin in a queen size bed (not king coz that’s too big), with all white linen. Surrounded by lots of pillows and a big, thick fluffy duvet. Sleeping in, not wanting to leave the bed, just wanna snuggle together. This is more lazy Sunday morning than actual Maison Margiela’s Replica LSM.

I literally hated this scent when I first had a 5ml decant......reminded me of my grandma’s home growing up. She always smelled good but smoked. I swear this thing smells like a smoker’s clothing at times but damn.....I have put more of a dent in this fragrance over the last 24 months than I have any other scent in my collection.

I love it. I usually avoid suede perfume, but this one is an exception. It is more of the unisex side than female to me and can be worn pretty much in most situations. Safe scent as well, doesn't project like crazy which some would find it disturbing. Overall, a really good fragrance that is slightly overpriced in my opinion.

I agree with the comments that says this is minimalist, but it is absolutely far, far from basic! Beautiful suede, with saffron and dainty lily of the valley luring you into a musky and faint incense-y woody dry down. I can't get enough of this beauty, only minus is that it doesn't last as long as I would like it to.

I am a man and I do enjoy wearing this. This is perfectly unisex scent. When I tested this at first, I immediately thought it is a lighter version of Ombre Leather. If you enjoy OL, most likely you will enjoy this as well. I don't get any grandma feel from this. It's maybe because I didn't have luxurious grandma??

This is a beautyful white flower, creamy, slightly smokey perfume. Great for spring and sunny (but not hot) days. It is not offensive, the smoke gives it a bit of "special", but it will most likely not bother anyone. For me, this is how an elegant, intelligent, mindful woman smells like.

Beautiful soft cashmere and musks, a hint of olibanum and lily of the valley, very well blended and sophisticated. If you are a fan of the "Missing Person/Without A Trace" type of scents then you should try this. Feminine leaning . 8/10 scent, 6/10 longevity. Purchased from: Ebay

such a pretty n cozy fall transitional scent!! smells clean lik ur freshly showered using a powdery soap bar yet cozy lik ur snuggling in ur well worn blankets with ur body scent. i love to spray this one on a scarf in the fall cos it's so comforting.

My signature perfume, for me it smells like clean skin, like a good memory. Just very clean fragnance, I don’t think people would assume you are wearing one upon smelling. Which is a lovely thing for some but for the price.. Lasts a while on me too.

Soapy & aromatic white florals becomes a musky & slightly creamy suede. Very clean and very polished, feels like a grown up Jovan White Musk. Can be enjoyed all year round save the dead of summer. Lasts around 6 hrs, fairly moderate sillage.

I was very surprised how much I love White Suede. This the best Sandalwood/musk in my collection. The opening starts off kinda harsh but within 30mins the fragrance settles into fresh, musky, woodsy clean scent for any day occasions.

No hesitations, this is a unisex fragrance. Clean, and mega powdery. Leather, musk and a light, classy bouquet. Like getting to third base on the way to a nice restaurant while driving in a 1986 Ferrari Testerosa.

Noa minus coffee notes, Animalique minus smokiness (wanted to say - without animalique :D) Very smooth, very delicious, but also VERY intimate I had to put my wrist to my face to perceive the perfume

This is addictive, but far to expensive to douse myself in, so i will use this on special occaions and douse myself in Noa on a daily basis cause they are very similar🥰

Luxurious classic bar of soap at a historically renowned hotel in Europe. Subtle, elegant, classy. 100% unisex, touch of suede, very smooth and refined.

IMO it's like an elegant powdery rose soap mixed with suede. The musk in the dry down is beautiful. Sillage is pretty good. I would rate it 8/10
