Tommy Bahama for Men

It smells like Nautica Voyage. But, there is more to the story. I bought a small 5-pack of Tommy Bahama scents as I love a few, like Set Sail St. Barts, so I thought I would try the pack because I found it for a screaming deal. Because the bottle is diamond shaped and ambery, I expected something dry and woodsy, but the moment I put on Tommy Bahama for Men, I realized it was totally the opposite. The sweet, summery, beachy scent smelled... familiar. What was it? After a minute I realized it smelled like Nautica Voyage! I was convinced they were identical. I went to my cologne closet, pulled out the Nautica, and sprayed them both on paper. Nope, not a clone. Not even close! Nautica Voyage is less sweet and in your face, but still in a very similar melony vein. I knew I wasn't crazy when I came to this site and found that many, many people had noticed the same thing. To the people who say it doesn't smell like Voyage, the fact that I came to the conclusion that they smell the same on my own, not knowing others had made the same comparisons, would argue otherwise. Sure, it isn't a clone, but without side-by-side comparison I was fooled. I like it, and I have worn it several times this summer. Great scent with excellent longevity. Redundant if you have Nautica Voyage, UNLESS you are a huge fan of Voyage but want a little variety now and then to appreciate the nuances of each, or you want something slightly sweeter and stronger than Voyage.

I don’t do decants in the summer. I just use the whole damned bottle ! I lift weights and work hard. And when it’s hot I spray down. If that’s you then this cheap bottle is your friend during the day. Or Get the big refillable decants . This old man has to show these 20-30 year olds how it’s done. Keep up now I miss the original so much. But this one here is Nautica voyage with all arohnd better quality. Blast of Melon. Smells so fresh. I can eat up a bottle of this in no time when it is hot. Spray spray spray and nobody will be offended. In fact I hear people all the time saying I love that smell. It’s melon. They want to know what it is but they don’t know where it’s coming from. I started spraying it just so I can witness it. And it never becomes a cloying nose blinding mess that pisses off the cologne Nazis. So I guess you can say it’s good for the office. But if you work like workhorse. Doing real man’s work. This stuff makes keeping the middle age man boobs off of you way more tolerable. Such a stress reliever during the sweaty season. I get this for $16.00 so why not. Last me most of the summer for me . It’s like the guys say down below. Weak. So go buy something else. That way there’s more for me. And I can spray spray if you don’t want it on you get the hell out my way 😂

One spray and wear in Macy's today, and I'm obsessed!!! What a wonderfully, sweet, juicy, fruity, spicy, ambery, tropical fragrance with a dry-down reminiscent of a true, saline ocean breeze, ala Blvgari Aqua. This fragrance, however, makes Blvgari Aqua smell positively foul. Masterfully blended, as one can individually distinguish all of the notes listed above as they swirl about in this orchestral symphony of a scent. A MUST BUY for warm weather as it dances magically, playfully, around the wearer, never too overbearing, obvious, or strident. Sillage is absolutely perfect for a warm, sunny day, however, I feel that longevity could be a bit better. Its ultimate transformation into a salty, fragrant, oceanic breeze makes this delightful voyage well worth the price of a ticket. 8.75/10 A juicy, balmy, sweet, sumptuous, expertly crafted fragrance from top to bottom, however one which could use a wee more wind in its sails. Bravo!!! UPDATE: Now that I own a FB of this, I must say, longevity is fantastic!!! I can detect it well over eight hours later, and as if finally fades it becomes a soft, sensual, lingering, beautifully rendered amber upon my skin.

I wore a sample of this to work last week. Honestly I put on too much. On of my female officemates caught a wiff and she was in love. She said whatever this is I needed to buy it. It kind of smells like clean natural body oder after a bath to me. I wasn't that impressed. I will try it again to see if my nose can pick up what she liked so much. Update 6/18/18: I just got a bottle of this in the mail. Upon my 1st spray it was a perfect match. It is fresh, and clean, manly and sweet. Not overpowering. Long lasting skin scent after 2 hours. I have been searching for a watery, fresh clean scent and this appears to be it. Where nautica voyage gives me a headache if I use more than 2 sprays on my wrists and I can't wear NV on my neck; this gem is much more wearable, no headache or sneezing from these awesome ingredients. It is exactly how I want to smell on a hot summer day.

Tried this at Khol's today, I can't comment on longevity or projection, but it seems like its probably pretty good as the bars above say. As for smell, its Nautica Voyage, almost 100%. The opening has a little violet leaf in in (which I don't like), but 10 minutes later its Nautica Voyage. I'm not sure if it being basically a Voyage rip-off is good thing or a bad thing. Its substantially more expensive (about double voyages price), but with the reviews saying Nautica may have been reformulated, this is a pretty good replacement if longevity isn't good enough on voyage anymore.

I first purchased this around Dec 2013 I think? Anyway it was amazing! I got a ton of compliments and it was my favorite scent. However I purchased like 4 more bottles online since then (through different sellers) and the fragrance is so much weaker. Maybe it was reformulated or they turned it from a toilette to a cologne. I'm not sure but it doesn't project or last as long. It was a 10. Now not so much. Or maybe I've been getting non legit bottles.

This cologne smells like a slightly spicy, tangerine-melon, with a touch of rum. It's a little thicker or darker than most citrus-y aquatics, making it ideal for spring/summer/fall, days and nights. However, I've been wearing it this winter since I just got a full bottle, and unlike most summer aquatics, it is just heavy enough to cut through the winter cold and get noticed unusually well. The compliments pour in over this stuff.

Opening is fantastic... Cologne concentration so don't expect any longevity. Watermelon, Pear and Juicy Tangerine 🍊 I'm surprised how much I like this. Refreshing bright cologne. Performance is on par with St. Barts. I will wear this a lot in the heat and carry an atomizer. Got it for 10 bucks. Highly recommend for warm weather. Reminds me a bit of Acqua Di Parma Bergamotto di Calabria on a budget.

This begins with such a wonderful juicy mandarin orange. Not overly sweet or tangy, but more of a fruity orange. Imagine an orange was just bit into with the juices that cannot help but pour out. This reminds me of Clinique's Happy, only it lasts for a good longer amount of hours than that one. This one quenches your thirst without having to drink anything. Simply delicious.

This is 70% Voyage and 30% Milliseme Imperial then watered down to about 3% concentration. It smells very nice... BUT... it is very weak at projection and longevity. You have to wear an Hawaiian shirt when wearing this cologne.

A better and longer lasting version of Nautica Voyage. I'm definitely taking this one to the beach with me this year. Great job by Tommy Bahama on this one.

The fragrance feels airy, breezy, casual, cheap, diluted, delicate, disappointing, diurnal, faint, fresh, fruity, low-quality, marine, refreshing, slightly salty, short-lived, sporty, slightly sweet, unisex, weak, and pleasant. I find this to be a very nice easy wearing fragrance. I find I wear this a lot more than I thought I would. It's one of my no-brainer fragrances I toss on and don't worry about. It's got a melon type of scent. Almost like a ramune soda, and less like an Air Spencer air freshener if that makes any sense. It's a salty, clean, melon smell. There's a mint note in the background I like too, it makes it a bit more interesting. It's also affordable. I prefer this much more than Nautica Voyage, I find this tends to be less synthetic. It's still synthetic, don't get me wrong, but it's just less so. Voyage is more available and cheaper, and I don't think the difference is massive really. They share a lot of the same qualities. I just prefer this one. It's like an old windbreaker you throw on before you go out of the house. It's always there, and won't upset anyone. It's not too loud, not too plain either it's just nice. If I had to compare this to a song, I'd compare it to Today by the Smashing Pumpkins. A song I can play around most company without any complaints. Sure, some people will complain, but not everyone likes coffee either. It's interesting, it puts you in a good mood, but it's not going to knock your socks off. It's also not going to knock people down, and have people running away from you either. It's pleasant!

Tommy Bahamas for Men is a nice smelling scent but it gets lost in the crowd. To me it smells a little bit like Curve Appeal for Men though not as in the Acqua di Gio territory as Curve Appeal can get mixed with Acqua di Gio and Kenneth Cole Reaction. Tommy Bahamas for Men has a very strong open with aquatic watermelon and tangerine notes. It then goes into a spicy direction even from the ginger in the open and coriander. In the base it goes sweet with a amber heavy and slight tonka note. Tommy Bahamas for Men fall in the typical Tommy Bahamas trend of casual spring/summer scents. It is good for work and works for vacations as well. I find performance wise it isn't great but it is an eau de cologne like most Tommy Bahamas scents. It last about an hour with moderate projection and about five more as a skin scent. Tommy Bahamas for Men is nice but it is not really all that unique. For this I rate it at a 6.8 out of 10. I have a small 15 ml bottle and I don't think I'll replace it when it is done since I already own Curve Appeal for Men.

I'll say right off the bat, if you're looking for the same magic that was in the original Tommy Bahama Men, this ain't it. Not even close. (And I'm still trying to figure out why it was discontinued). That being said, this is decent. It's certainly much better than the TB flanker sh*t show you'll find in discount stores; the "set sails" and what not. Yes it does closely resemble Nautica Voyage, but with watermelon and tangerine pushed to the forefront instead of apple. I gotta tell you: it ain't that big of a difference. On the upside it does last a very long time. As one reviewer here said, it is an upgraded version of Voyage. But only slightly so. It's not worth the fifty plus bucks you're paying for a full sized bottle. There are too many other much better choices for the same money. Good, but until the price comes down to the 20-30 dollar range where it belongs, save your coins.

Had the choice between this and Compass at Perfumania this weekend 2 for $60, my Husband and I both decided to pick a Tommy Bahama for ourselves. I preferred this over Compass, but they were both good fragrances. The top of For Him starts out with citrus and ginger. The watermelon note kind of makes my mouth water. You don't often find tiare flower in a men's cologne, and I really am enjoying that as its a favorite for me in women's perfume. The coriander mingles with the ginger to keep it spicy. The dry down is sweet with amber, tonka and sandalwood. Very fresh, seems familiar and yet I cant place another cologne or perfume that it smells like. My Husband was sort of on the fence and picked it more as it was preferable to me, but as he smelled the dry down he really liked it as well. A good summertime freshie!

I decided to give it a try, tossed it into my tool pouch, and even used it to cool down during the day. The reaction was unanimous—everyone noticed and enjoyed the scent, asking what it was. It truly shines in the heat, spreading a clean, refreshing trail that fits outdoor work perfectly. I paid a bit more than the $16 others mentioned—closer to $22—but even at that price, it’s hard to complain.

I think I reviewed this one a while back, wasn't really a fan of it but after finding it in my closet and spraying it on me, my opinion has changed. It's a really nice and cheap freshie, though if you spray too much the watermelon scent can become overly nauseating, though this typically lasts 30 minutes or less. The watermelon note is VERY overpowering but the citrusy notes from the tangerine are there. The drydown has this this cool, refreshing scent that I really like. I will say, it does last notably longer compared to most Tommy Bahama fragrances, as I smelt a little bit of the watermelon the day after. Overall, this is a really good Tommy Bahama fragrance, very "unique" in my personal opinion, as I haven't smelled anything like it. A solid 7/10 in my books.

The opening is a burst of melon and fruitiness that pops loudly on my skin. As it fades, I get that violet note as in “Fahrenheit” but it’s thankfully tamer. As it dries down, the woody notes blend with the top and mids to help it go masculine, but it is definitely unisex. I can still detect the fruits combined with the woods at the end and it’s pretty nice. The shame of it is that the performance is sub par, double up on the sprays, but wait ten minutes before you leave the house. Later, it needs heat to get rolling that’s for sure. I bought a 1.7 ounce bottle unboxed for $16. I’m happy with that. Scent 7 Performance 5 Sillage 5.5 Longevity 4 Value ( in my case). 7

Clean and fresh body and hair? ✅ White shorts and tank top? ✅ TOMMY BAHAMA for HIM mesmerizing all those who inhale? ✅ Scenic island setting complete with white sand beaches and crystal clear water? ✅ Fine little woman on my arm? A definite ✅✅ and another ✅ Fruity cocktail and sand between my toes? ✅ All of the naughty things that happen next? Oh, yeeaaah.✅ BEWARE: There may be more sand on the beach than you can handle, if you know what I mean. So, proceed with caution with this scent or you'll be fighting them off with a whip and chair. Of course, that's only a BAD thing if you took sand to the beach WITH you.

I like the opening well, but after a minute it conjured an image of a shopping mall as if this is the fragrance worn by the lacrosse team when they hang out at Orange Julius. It did soon morph into something grassier and woodier that redeemed the fragrance well. Later, the dry down was taken over by sandalwood and tonka bean. While I liked this, it felt a little too youthful for me and, at times, kind of commonplace. Also, I wasn't impressed with the longevity. Still, I liked this enough that I'd wear it again.

Watermelon on point with this one! I blind bought this without reading and reviews or anything, I found it on sale for like $11. I thought the box looked like it might be an old guy fragrance, like maybe alot of musk...idk. Opened it up sprayed my wrist and was immediately surprised at how refreshing it smelled. Definitely a late spring, summer fragrance. Protect about 4 ft for the first 30 mins then about 1 ft after that. I would recommend as a blind buy if you are looking for a good summer scent. 8/10

Tropical vacation in a bottle. Makes me think of a handsome guy with an open shirt sipping a mai tai at a beach bar. I mostly just get the sweet, fruity, tropical notes from this one, but I suppose some of the middle and base notes are what keep this from coming off as a feminine fragrance. It's pretty linear, but that's honestly fine; it just means the beach vibes keep on coming. This is an absolute no-brainer for the summer, and for the price, you can afford to overspray a bit if you want to.

I have sampled this a couple of times at department stores. It was enough to put it on my radar as a potential future purchase. When I saw it at Ross Stores last night for $19.99 (3.4 oz size), I could not pass it up. I was quite excited and for so much less than department stores prices, I jumped on it. I do really enjoy the scent, refreshing and pleasing. Definite summer scent. Not sure yet on the longevity, but for the price and scent, I am happy.

This fragrance to my nose is a mix of the melon in Kenneth Cole Reaction, the airy(and somewhat synthetic)aquatic vibe of Nautica Voyage and the sweet citrus/floral of Lacoste L-12 White. Yes, I get all these elements mixed into one delicious, tropical fruit melange that is slightly thicker and heavier than the typical entry into this genre. It's also very long lasting. It's alright, nothing very special about it. I will say the smell is kinda disappointing, then again I don't know what I was expecting. Longevity is kinda buns, but so are 99% of the other TB colognes. Sure the watermelon does smell nice eventually, but I find overspraying it (which is what most TB colognes depend on to make them last over an hour) makes it sickening. 5.5/10

Candied orange(mandarin) and waxy musk. The calone note is just too overwhelming for this fragrance. It's okay, but not really worth the $20 price tag. A nice random pick-up or leave around the house or gym bag. Would be perfect for a guy under 20.

This one smells much better on skin than it does on a tester strip. I didn't like it when I sprayed it on a tester strip, but then I put it on to go to the gym and it is actually very nice.

Fruity watermelon and tangerine opening with a calm dry down... Nice summer bottle for 20$... Perfect vacation bottle if you don't want to risk more expensive bottles in your luggage.

Much better quality than the Tommy Bahama Set Sail colognes. Refreshing and reminds me of the clean scents of Caribbean beaches. Very nice. Definitely worth testing out--

I have been using this cologne for years. Not super long lasting or strong by any means but it is cheap and I have gotten a multitude of compliments on it. 5.4/10

It is an ok scent. Somewhat similar to Nautica Voyage but fot me Nautica is way better. I can feel the alcholol in the scent and it last maybe an hour or two.

Aquatic, fruity, spicy, a perfect commercial cologne for summertime. Especially for someone who lives in hot weather. Good for office or date.

Tommy Bahama for Men (new version with the marlin on the cap) SMELLS LIKE A BOX OF SNUGGLE LAUNDRY SHEETS Opens with a blast of alcohol which dissipates into synthetic fruitiness (like red apple/melon) then settles and gets fresh clean fruity, like a snuggle laundry sheet, reminds me of Montblanc Individuel for men just not as sweet (remove the chocolate/cocoa accord & replace the raspberry in Individuel with apple in TB), gets more aquatic as it dries then reminds me of Montblanc Legend Spirit fresh-fruity-aquatic just not as loud or smooth, and gets mainly fresh-powdery (like laundry sheets) once fully dry, also similar to Tommy Bahama Compass but without the spiciness; youthful, casual, or gym/out the shower frag that works great in day-time spring & summer. Projection/Sillage': LIGHT, aromatic for the 1st hour or so then becomes an in-close scent Performance/Longevity: WEAK, 3-4 hours

A strong opening mixed between watermelon and tangerine, the watermelon scent quickly fades and the tangerine scent remains until the end, which is what the fragrance is based on, hence the orange color of the bottle. Amber and sandalwood are noticeable in the base of the fragrance but not annoying, the rest of the ingredients are barely noticeable. Different juice not ordinary, suitable for spring and summer mornings and suitable for the club, gym, beach and light walks. The performance of the fragrance is good for a EAU DE COLOGNE, somewhat below average, which is expected in Tommy Bahama fragrances. If you are looking for this bottle, you will probably find it with some difficulty.

A decent freshie. Seems to be like TB's answer to Nautica Voyage but with a touch of watermelon and not apple. Super short watermelon quickly goes to coriander and fresh ozonic notes. What smells like a touch of sandalwood follows that. Definitely not bad but I prefer other TBs over this one. In high heat, this one will work for you if you like Nautica Voyage. The late dry down, though very much a skin scent, is very nice.

I sampled this in store and liked it so I picked up a bottle online for dirt cheap. Pretty good performance for an eau de cologne, basically an EDT but you can really smell the alcohol for the first 30sec. It’s light, refreshing, and a bit synthetic but smells pretty good. It dries down kind of salty/ salt water/ aquatic slightly musky smell similar to the original ADG. I get about 3-4hr on skin with this in moderate heat

A fruiter version of Nautica Voyage. Also similar to Millesime Imperial, but with more Orange and Ginger. Drydown of salty Violet and Sandalwood appears after 5 minutes or so. Not bad at all, and a good buy if found for around $20. Would be great worn out of the shower, or even to the gym...I like wearing it when I go for a run. Great tropical and beachy vibes without smelling like suntan lotion.

Smells really good to me actually smells amazing when you consider the price but it's weak and great for the gym and you have to spray it again after an hour it's actually very strong and projects for about a half hour and it does smell very synthetic but of course it's only 20.00$ for a bottle a great cologne to use so you don't have to waste something expensive and still want to smell good

Opening is fruity and potent. Dissipates quickly though and left with a fruity/spicy thing. I think it's the coriander/citrus mix I don't care for, kind of a bitter/sharp aroma. Need to wear it a few more times to see I acclimate to it or not. Right now, it's probably not one I'd recommend.
