Tommy Girl Vibrant Summer

This was a huge pleasant surprise! I used to wear Tommy girl back when I was about 18...(42 now, getting on a bit) but grew out of it as I literally dowsed myself in it for around 3 years straight. Anyway I’ve been looking for a sunscreen holiday vacation type scent for years and none of the ones I’ve tried ticked the boxes for me (and I’ve tried so many! 😭) it’s been Soleil Cristal, Soleil blanc, alien goddess, beach walk, bronze goddess and more but none of them did it for me. I searched in google and ai...sunscreen type scents for summer 2026. On the results was this (even though it was a 2024 release) Tommy Hilfiger cheapie edt. I thought it probably won’t last long and also if it’s got the Tommy girl dna I don’t want to smell of my teens...however..I checked the notes and reviews and for the price I thought I’d give it a go. I nervously gave it a good squirt and this strong, beautiful, tropical, exotic, fresh but sweet mist covered me. It doesn’t remind me of the og whatsoever and it’s literally my perfect summer scent. It’s definitely sunscreen but I would say a much more luxurious type! It’s fruity, fresh, tropical, sweet, sunscreen vibe is exactly what I wanted! The performance is also impressive for an edt. Especially a cheap one. When I spray it there is no strong smell of alcohol, it’s strong fruity floral scent feels far more expensive than what it is. It transports me to beautiful hot country. It’s spray is strong and generous, it lasts about 4 hours on my skin with decent projection. £21 for a 100ml bottle is fantastic value for this! So happy that I’ve found my perfect summer scent from a cheapie brand I never thought I’d go back to. Also for all the people who are confused that coconut is not listed...it’s the gardenia that comes across coconutty due to it giving a lactonic vibe. I think I might have to pick up a backup bottle of this one I love it that much 🌴☀️ 🏖️ 🌊 🏝️ (I went through a phase for a long time of only sticking with more expensive brands and I’m starting to find out that more expense is not always better. Don’t be quick to write things off so easily without trying. I’ve learned my lesson)

Wow, this is a happy fragrance! Suitable for the early, somewhat cold spring... um, I don’t think so. This scent suits summer, dancing on your ballerinas through the city and then taking the train to the sea. Can the scent go with you into the evening? Yes, absolutely, but you’ll need a few extra sprays because it has a moderate longebity and after all, happiness is something you want to share. The perfume opens with a slight alcohol scent, at least on me, which is a shame because it battles with the fruity top note. Watermelon is listed as an ingredient on Fragrantica—hard for me to recognize, but the fresh, fruity scent is abundantly clear. 🍉 Pretty soon after the top note, I recognize bergamot: round, complex, and quite addictive. I think I pick up a hint of coconut in the distance, but it could also be the combination of bergamot and watermelon. The perfume is fresh and warm at the same time, and once this initial explosion is over, a beautiful fruity greenish floral scent emerges that sparkles in your nose and is definitely not sickeningly sweet. Let’s hope for an Indian Summer so we can enjoy this fragrance for a while longer. Just in case, I purchased a second bottle and started praying to the weather gods. 🌞🙏 Tommy Girl Vibrant Summer EDT 100ml was bought for 29 euros (Netherlands), not a lot of money for such a beautiful, light, happy fragrance that also has depth. - Note to Reader Smell and scent experience is different for everyone; the above is my personal experience.

Just picked this up at Burlington for $22 for the 3.4oz size, which is a steal! I pick up lots of gardenia and watermelon so it’s this beautiful, happy, definitely summer scent perfect for humid southern summer. I’m going to enjoy the heck out of this, I can tell. We’re just hearing up so it’ll take me clear into September, that’s for sure!

My first big girl perfume was Tommy Girl and I still think TG is a banger. I blind bought this at TJ Maxx and crossed my fingers. WOW! I love it! It has the DNA of Tommy Girl, but it’s got a prominent gardenia note with a splash of watermelon. As a gardenia lover, this is my dream come true. This is joy in a bottle,

This is long lasting. I initially thought it wasn't long lasting but others smell it strongly on me. Also, I sprayed it in my car and could absolutely smell it in my car the following day. This fragrance has really grown on me. I like it more and more every time I wear it. I can smell all the notes & I seem to be aware of different notes more each time that I wear this. The neroli is extremely prominent in this fragrance (to my nose). This is definitely beach time appropriate. However, as someone who despises the cold & who, at times, wears beachy frags in the winter, I feel that this could hold it's own on cold winter days, particularly because of the sweet, honeyed neroli with the vetiver and musk. Also, this is more daytime but I could definitely layer this with a dab of Patchouli (since I'm a Patchouli lover) or with something woody to better wear it into the night. Although watermelon is listed, this is not a summery "watermelon forward" fragrance. I think the watermelon in this is mostly used to simply carry the the fragrance with it's ozonic factor. Others have mentioned a coconut smell to this, and I agree thar there is something about this frag that "indicates" a coconut note, but it's not exactly coconutty. I think maybe the combination of the sweet neroli with the mineral sand might be what gives the coconut vibe (Although maybe coconut is in this & simply not listed). The initial blast of this is, of course, the brightest, but this quickly goes into the neroli & sand on me. I need to recheck the notes of Sur LA Plage because I feel like the Netoli and Sand combo in this are reminiscent of the sweet sand in that fragrance. Although Sur LA Plage is an absolutely exquisitely lingering summer skin scent for hee or him. I have only the travel size from one of the fragrance subscriptions and I save it to use only for summer "date days." .... My mother found this fragrance to be sharp on her nose and reminiscent of something nostalgic, like a "throw back" type fragrance. "I guess" I cam sort of see/imagine that. By the way, I love gardenia, but I don't find this to be a "gardenia fragrance" because the neroli definitely overtakes it. The bitter spiciness of Bergamot intertwines with the vetiver & Musk as they those all linger in the background of sweet floral tinted with the mineral sand holds the stage and is carried in the air with ozonic ability of watermelon. (However, remember that this is not watermelon forward.). I enjoy this fragrance.

Pretty much identical to 2025. The watermelon isn't "directly watermelon" rather it serves to give the ozonic/aquatic touches (both the women's & mens version have a hidden coconut note) ... its floral, creamy, woody with a small touch of mineral & lactonic. Join me on YouTube, Fragrance Memoir 🫶

The watermelon definitely sticks out!! Of all the TG flankers I like this one the best because I love watermelon scents. Longetivity is 2-3 hours on my skin. I would definitely repurchase this because of the watermelon alone!! BTW I purchased this at a Ross for $24.99!

This is nice. Fresh and fruity, but not sickening. On my skin, the watermelon dominates. I can smell the florals too, but it’s most fruit . It’s a great choice for spring and summer and pretty safe. My husband liked it so much he wants to buy me a bottle.

Exactly the same as Sol de Janeiro Rio Radiance.

Conformity, political correctness and mediocrity come to mind when smelling Vibrant Summer. Unfortunately, there is nothing vibrant about it, just some gardenia enveloped in soft musk with a spritz of generic fruitiness. The original Tommy Girl was one of my first perfumes and will always hold a special place in my heart, but this nondescript flanker has not much to do with it. I also used to have the Summer Cologne 2003 flanker and even that one had much more personality (unfortunately it is not in Fragrantica‘s database).

Blind buy from TJ Maxx. $25. It's a nice coconut summer fragrance. It's OK. I'll wear it every once in a while. I won't repurchase. It's Mehhhhh Smells Just like Lattafa yara tous.

It smells en performs like a cheap watermelon body spray. Its happy and girly, but if your not the biggest fan of watermelon scents, this might not be for you.

This is very bad. All I smell is spicy + a bit of citrus. It's very awful that mix.

I’m a sucker for watermelon notes so I purchased this one blindly after reading reviews. If you’re looking for a watermelon prominente ozonic fragrance keep looking cause this is not it. It opens up with a slap in the face of gardenia and keeps leaning towards the white florals after wear. It’s almost like someone whispered “watermelon” after hitting you with a white floral bouquet. If that’s your vibe, you do you. I’m disappointed because I won’t be getting use of this one even if it’s a cheapy I don’t like letting fragrances sit to collect dust.

I cannot smell the watermelon and it does not smell cheap like the price I paid for it at Ross...on me the white florals are predominant and after about 45 minutes it smells softer and clean and lasts over 6 hours. It does smell a bit tropical like you're sitting in the sand watching the waves, there's a breeze and a few scattered clouds in the vibrant blue sky. And some bushes nearby with gardenia. It is lovely.

This is a fresh watermelon with some light sweet white floral scent. Just right. Light bright and airy. Perfect for anytime on a summer day. Excellent no offensive fruity floral. Safe for office and blind buy. Hidden gem. Bought it at Ross for less than $25.

Why do I smell coconut from this? I thought this was a coconut dominant perfume until I checked the notes and now I’m confused. Very summery.. I like it but not a safe blind buy I guess..

I layered this with Black Opium Over Red today and it is soooooo niiiiice. The watermelon and cherry together are mouth watering. Can see me reaching for this combo a ton this summer.!
