Toni Gard

My staple perfume and the one of the only of two perfumes that I have ever repurchased. It is so unique as a mix and so lovely that I cannot find anything comparable. A nice female take on male perfumes with a sweetness and pepperynes that is unusual. Like Marzipan making out with Tonka in a cedar forest with lavender flowers and fig blossoms eating some oranges with pepper on top. It is just such a strange composition and it somehow works and does not annoy or cloy IMO. The spicy/herby/sweet mix is incomparable to most perfumes and just has something and it just has a nice dry down and stays close to the body. Longevity is a few hours.

I never even heard of this perfume until I looked up L'Eau d'Hiver Frederic Malle. This one was compared to it and was cheaper. I have never smelled either so I decided to blind buy this one. I have to say what a wonderful little surprise. This is such a gorgeous scent. It is totally inoffensive in every way and is so amazingly rich and soft and aromatic. It smells quite niche to my nose. I am thrilled with the purchase. Very feminine and matching the notes all mentioned by Fragrantica above. I would say if those notes are for you grab this one there is not a whole lot if anything to dislike about this scent. Very signature worthy.

Love it! What a cozy, warm and lovely perfume. It's not very strong but the longtivity is enormous. Unfortunately it's discontinued and i have looked everywhere but i can't find me a new bottle anymore. It's a pity because i still remember the good smell although my bottle is empty and gone for many years already. 😢

Okay, Toni Gard is sweet, figgy-marzipan and sandalwood with a pinch of cedar. The combination sounded heavenly! But there is a slight herbal feel throughout that I wasn't expecting. It's not heavy or overly sweet, but sadly, something about it makes me queasy. It's not a hate or even a dislike for me, but it just doesn't work with my chemistry, at least right now. It's also a lot more powdery than I expected. FYI, it's no longer available for me to test so I had to blind buy.

History side note: Toni Gard is a Deutsche fashion label inspired by entrepreneur and designer, Toni Lirsch, an Italian fashion design importer. His name is synonymous with Ted Lapidus, whom he collaborated with when he began his first franchise business in Germany in 1970. In 2004 Toni Gard developed an exclusive sale version of the BMW3. In 2010 the Toni Gard perfume range was relaunched and sold exclusively in European-based Douglas stores This is a review for the EDP spray. I was on a fig- note kick when I found this beauty on line. This is not the sweet, fruity fig but a warmed by the sun, fig inundated with warm woods and florals. There appears to be an underlying coconut note although coconut is not listed. This one seems to my nose to be close to "Be 21" by Lancome upon initial spray. While Be 21 leans more toward an alcoholic/citronella smell (almost like Rodier's EDP), Toni Gard stays mellow and inviting. The fragrance is softened by its base notes, especially cedar, sandalwood and vanilla which are pretty dominate almost mediately after the initial spray and stays quite linear after just a few moments. The sweetness of the marzipan is detected hovering just above the base notes. What I like most is the fig note never quite goes away but is changed ever so slightly, enhanced even, by the marzipan, cedar, sandalwood and vanilla. The other notes are fleeting or overcome by these 4 dominate notes. To get the citrus note I had to respray and sniff quickly. On me this scent is ideally suited for warm, humid lazy summer days, early spring and perhaps fall. The chill of winter may be too much for this one. The silage is ok but can last longer if sprayed on clothing in addition to pulse points. Very well suited for office use or where loud fragrances would be a put- off.

I just got this perfume from an online purchase so I just went by the notes and reviews. Was a bit apprehensive as I've not bought perfumes without testing it first but boy was I in was a surprise. I love this perfume! Its just too wonderful to describe. Though the main accords are sweet but for me its more woody and slightly masculine which is great in my books. The notes are nothing like the usual sickly sweet fragrances one may find in most of the perfumes. totally suitable for office use and not too over powering. The top note seems to last lingering with the base notes at the end of the day.

Toni Gard by Toni Gard is a super green scent with marzipan. Not in any way a sugar bomb or a gourmand, thank goodness! It is unique and distinctive. It is also light, fun and pretty, very unexpected. Still manages to be elegant if kind of off-beat. Maybe a little in-your-face but in the nicest way! Good for weekends and afternoons. I blind-bought it about 6 years ago based on the reviews submitted below. Thanks to you all for your thoughtfully presented experiences! I still enjoy this scent. Got a second, backup bottle for the inevitable diminishing availability.

OMG Toni Gard for women where have you been all my life? Just got you today and you're such a beauty. Got it on 75% discount, raced back to the site now it's on full price. Dang! I love sweet, vanilla, sandalwood, and anything amber. Powdery and floral just makes it heaven. This is how a lady's neck should smell. Boyfriend's in real trouble.

Forgot how really pretty this is! I wanted to give some love to a dusty bottle I have been ignoring so I went with this. It is very feminine. It smells like Trussardi My Name or Sylvaine Delacourt Florentina, but with a defined almondy/vanilla powdery base. I need to keep this at the front of the line :)

The smell is not bad. Woody... Longevity is sad...Blind buy
