Cosmic Wood

On me, the jasmine plus musk mallow reads as orange blossom. No woods or even vetiver to speak of, so I love this, although I can understand why some would be disappointed. They should have called this Cosmic Spa or something.

Very woodsy Soapy opening. Pleasant, not too green, dry down is soft musk and notes I am not familiar with but want to be quickly. This is a wonderful scent, softly earthy, warm and unique.

At first spritz I couldn't identify cardamom but the crisp fresh cut jasmine and heavy resinous ambrette oil. It's less of a skin scent like Electric Sky and more of a room spray imo. No bergamot or citrus ingredients to my surprise, which would've turned me off. Jasmine is not what I look for in perfumes because it is commonly used, yet takes down the cardamom from being too hot so the vetiver, ambrette and sage make an earthy sweet burn. It later changes on skin and loses that freshness. It's oily, mistakenly citrus and herbal.

I think this is a beautiful scent that is perfect to grab when you want to smell good but not be distracting. Perfect for daytime activities, spring, summer, fall, and casual events. It is very earthy, slight musk, slight floral, and smells clean. A perfect ad for this would be a woman swimming near a waterfall and then sitting down on a large rock that has lots of moss on it. Weird description, I know lol. It does not project well, and it is not distracting by any means. But sometimes that's a good thing.

Tory burch was having a promo if you spent a certain amout you could get a discovery set of fragrance. Of course i had to do it! I have tried 3 of the 5 in the set. I like this one it is nice! Def woody but not too strong of wood, i think i got amber and jasmine too. Idk if i would get a full bottle though, not sure if i liked it enough to purchase.

I was thrown off by the opening because to me it smelled like grass on my skin lol. However, dry down is a very beautiful, unique subtle clean scent. Very weak staying power and projection!!!

Soft wood, something similar to the musk in oud wood by TF.

Woody and nice. Good for a autumn stroll or a night out.

Musky sage with a soapy vibe. Super clean with good longevity and reasonable projection. Good for going on a walk/run/workout or just doing errands where you're not looking to impress but to smell clean and sharp. It achieves a natural feel that most aromatic designer frags can't offer. Worth sampling for sure.

I really liked this scent initially. It is a different profile for me which was nice. I don’t have many spicy or woody perfumes. It was very balanced and I enjoyed it for 15 minutes then it vanished! I went back to see if this was an EDT, but it was an EDP. I could smell nothing but my body wash from earlier.

Mild, green, and airy. Fresh, without being soapy (though I could imagine this as a soap). Reminds me of some Jo Malone fragrances. Great for every day or the office. Unisex. Smelled better at the end of the day, but was faint.

Nice but unimpressive. Extremely light and gets cloyed by other fragrances. Smells kind of like the furniture or room fragrance department in department stores. Not bad but too 'barely there' to be recognisable.

Received a sample of this and was excited to try it. The opening is lovely -- the jasmine and musk are standouts here, and you get a strong hit of citrus. But alas, the dry down. I swear it reminded me of Jean Nate that I used to splash on after a bath when I was a kid. Ultimately cloying and unsophisticated. It actually made me retch. Very disappointing but grateful not to have blind bought this one.

It's giving spa day/clean candle/ green facial/ scent its not my vibe, a clean, green, musky, floral.. the sage isn't my favorite I have to admit.

Too masculine for me personally very spicy dry scent

On paper it smells nice, clean, musky but on skin it starts to go rancid. It disappears in 30 minutes and is so faint that I had to put my nose to my skin. The dry down is aquatic car freshener.

Just a little review to share that TORY BURCH COSMIC WOOD smells very similar to GILLY HICKS BLUSHED perfume by HOLLISTER. It smells like beautiful soft fluffy powder pink or pastel yellow cotton towels pulled fresh from the laundry.... In addition, the next closest dupe to COSMIC WOOD are the following scents: DIPTYIQUE FLEUR de PEAU, Zara Cotton Kiss, Le Labo Ambrette 9, Abercrombie and Fitch No 1. It smells like essentially ambrette and musk mallow with a hint that of soft pink baby powder and cotton - it’s a “your skin but better” type of perfume. For reference, GILLY HICKS BLUSHED is described as "The Gilly Hicks Blushed Perfume is your favorite cotton tee, a fresh bouquet of flowers, the sunshine beaming on your skin. This soft blend of peony petals and musk is sure to make you feel beautiful day and night."

I think out of all of them, this was my number two pick. It’s clean musk, with floral notes. I can’t say I smell vetiver a whole lot, jasmine and ambrette are totally taking all the attention. It is a nice scent. It actually smells like an expensive store to me if expensive stores had a scent. Clean, slightly floral and it does smell expensive. It screams chic. Lasting power was very average to poor which is one of my biggest pet peeves. I still wax poetically about “old days” when it took one or two small sprays of a scent for it to last all day but alas, not anymore. If lasting power was improved, we would really have something to talk about.

Everything in Tory Burch Cosmic Wood is done lightly, ...or weakly, ...depending on how you feel about it. A nebulously mild wood note leads, if anything does. Perhaps Haitian vetiver and ambrette, ...but just as likely, modern synthetic molecules. Cardamom and sage have both been neutered of any real pungency ...and that mild floral sweetness could be anything or nothing. There is also an inexact citrus aspect to this. It might be what is left of the cardamom. Nowadays many people seem to want these vague, minimal scents, ...or else, its just the perfume sellers pushing them. Either way, here's another one to add to the pile.

Cosmic Wood by Tory Burch A blind buy that was very complicated. With a name like Cosmic Wood, I was expecting stardust, galaxies, maybe even a whisper of moonlight. Instead? A sharp, masculine-leaning aromatic with a fresh aftershave vibe. The sage and cardamom dominate, giving it that cool, spicy feel. Jasmine is there on paper, but don’t expect a floral ride ... this one sticks firmly in aromatic territory, with vetiver grounding it in earthiness. Decent? Yes. Cosmic?
