Curtain Call

I got a 15ml of this that came complimentary when I got the actual fragrance that I ordered; the very controversial Anarchist A_. Yes, the scent with Credit Card, Priest's Robe, Holy Water, Plastic Bag and Money as notes. Gimmick or note, the notes did grab my attention, and a couple of them from the brand have been on my to-buy list for quite some time now. First things first, this scent is gorgeous. It was my introduction to the brand, and it made a solid first impression. It was also my introduction to a Romanian fragrance brand. My impression of Romania comes mainly from my research to travel there for their beautiful rustic villages, castles, orthodox churches and, of course, Dracula. That, and the fact that my Bulgarian friend didn't appreciate me calling her Romanian all the time. But all that is a topic of discussion for another day. How's Curtain Call? If you were to take Fragrantica's word for it, pretty average. But I've stopped trusting Fragrantica a long time ago. It's evident that a lot of people are voting without actually trying the brand. In no way is this a 3.52 Fragrantica-rated scent. This is a cleverly crafted fragrance. It opens with watery pear and elderflower like you'd get in the Hermes 24 Faubourg series. It feels like it will go into the Habit Rouge or Shalimar territory, but quickly takes a less-traditional turn. The main notes (to my nose) are Rose, Tonka, Musk and Praline. That's what I get for most of the scent journey. There's also a hint of damp paper, like I get in L'Air du Desert Marocain, which I will say is the moldy Patchouli in the base. This 15ml squirts like a... let's just say Spitting Cobra. I say this without a hint of exaggeration: I sprayed it on my wife from over a meter away. Not sure of the sprayer on the bigger bottles though. I'll know that when I unbox Anarchist A_. Overall, quite an interesting scent. So much fun to wear. My recommendation will be to get a sample first and don't rely on the ratings, unless they're the ones I've mentioned below 😝. A very strong and intense flowery, herbal and sweet fragrance. I'm so glad I found this brand during a recent holiday in Hungary. Their compositions and the artistry is truly to be admired. All of the ones I've smelled are very unique and interesting. I love elderflower, so I'm pleasantly surprised that it's the strongest note I smell in this fragrance, but there is also some musk and citrus mixed in that I can clearly smell. A beautiful, unisex scent. Very long-lasting. All their fragrances are extrait de parfum concentrations as far as I know and they'll probably last all day. One of my new favourite brands. 9.5/10

went through the sample so quickly! it is right on the very edge of the maximum amount of floral I can do, sometimes I almost feel that it might be too much to other people, but it's just too beautiful not to wear. just bought a bigger size of it and can't wait for it to come. love wearing this on dates, to live performances, holiday parties, to nice restaurants, or anything like that where I'm getting properly dressed up. not quite casual enough for daily wear, but sometimes I do anyways because it just smells so good.

beautiful rose + raspberry, yeah it’s giving vintage if we smelled sth similar from our older women, but it must become fashionable again, cuz there is so much class, elegance and sophistication to rosey fragrances. definitely makes you outstanding. one of my favorites from david

Smells like slightly overripe pears, super vivid wet flowers (i really see the drops of water on the petals when smelling this), freshly washed silk and as it dries musky and slightly tobacco-y. I just wish they still made the 30ml bottles since the price point is so high

Lovely perfume, very unisex. smells like pears dipped in caramel praline, but you forgot to eat them right away, so they kept fermenting and getting sweeter and more potent in smell. very unique, niche, artistic, and attractive as well as seductive. simply a love for me.

This settles into smelling exactly like Rose Incense and its fantastic. I love that musk is only a middle note instead of a dominant base note.

What immediately strikes me when smelling this is a sharp, boozy note like fruity vodka or a daiquiri. It's a very similar alcohol note to the one in Anarchist A- but the sweetness makes it much more enjoyable. This fruity daiquiri scent is layered over a musky cottony soft scent which I would describe as synthetic silk. It feels like running your hands over a velvet curtain. It's powerful in its sweetness at first, but quickly mellows out into a mix of floral, fruity and vaguely woody notes. Dry raspberry, crisp florals, elderberry.. dusty yet bright, creamy yet musky, clean like paper, and subtly sweet. , synthetic, slightly plasticky smell. It still smells as though it is high quality, however this fragrance is not childlike or overly feminine, neither is it very masculine in my opinion. At the same time, it's not entirely mature either, it lies somewhere in between. Like sipping a fruity cocktail on the top rows of a classical theater. Think of running your fingers along a piece of synthetic silk, that’s what this perfume captures, somehow, in scent. sweet, floral, and fabric-like. It is elegant, slightly mysterious, lightly jammy in sweetness, but not overwhelmingly so. At first I really LOVED this, but the longevity knocked it down a peg. Still not as light as ichigo ichie, but it does require frequent reapplication to keep it going. It could be worse. Definitely more noticeable as you walk past. It shares that semi-youthful, fruity DNA, but trades the calmness for something a little more chipper and sparkling. The most noticeable thing missing from this that Ichigo Ichie has is that minty tea undertone. It's been replaced with the rubbing alcohol scent from Anarchist A' but more diluted. Must be the synthetic musk. It's good. Curtain call smells a little similar to On A Date by Maison Margiela with higher quality ingredients, but much lighter and much less offensive.

This kind of just smells like a scented hairspray and vintage perfume to me, very reminiscent of shellacking my hair into a bun backstage before a ballet recital. I like it but it’s nothing special for the price point and I don’t get a lot of praline which makes me sad 💔 I only spray once for first test and it projects well, my bf could smell it and he was like 5 feet away.

beautiful fragrance and amazing longevity + sillage, the one thing i would’ve wished for though is more of a theater aspect. i couldn’t really get the “dusty theater” type atmosphere from it, instead I kind of got candy dish or pot of flowers. i’m someone who does theater, so i think i may have been expecting a literal theater scent instead of an atmospheric vibe though

This legitimately smells like my great-grandma. She claimed that she never wore fragrances, but I swear when I hugged her, I smelled this sweet and distinctive smell. This fragrance smells sweet, fruity, musky, and "old."

I’m not gonna comment on the note breakdown. 3/5 sweet and floral, 2/5 fruity. The profile is more or less accurate but the notes alternate instead of blend, which I typically appreciate...but It just boils down into a barely wearable feminine leaning perfume with somewhat of a cleaning product vibe. Meh. Picks ups Tiziana’s makeup vibes as it dries.

Run of the mill fruity rose perfume. Very pretty, but we have hundreds of these on the market, and this has nothing that would differentiate it from the rest (apart from high price)

Musk in the middle note, combined with sugar and velvet and the aqueous quality of pear, results in a sad, musty perfume. Elder lingers too long, it seems to be a bit off, a bit too much too late. Magnolia and tobacco strive to save the day, but the overall impression is of a wane perfume with a touch of rotting fruits. "I still buy your favorite pralines, but never eat them." - that's where the smell of mold comes from. Throw them away once in a while.

Oh so beautiful ! Floral, classic, elegant, intriguining. Wait till the dry-down it's a true experience. The first 30/40 min i could only feel a spiciness like cumin or pepper. Then Alice's in wonderland garden opened up for me, and it became so beautiful. A feminine scent of spring flowers , perfectly executed slightly mature and sharp and pungent. Too bright for me, but incredibly sunny and pretty. A level of freshness and crispness i didn't expect. Great creation.

This is GORGEOUS. 100% childhood memories of theatre halls mixed with heavy perfumes, velvet curtains and dry fruits. I love the praline ensemble it opens up to but it settles into a discreet Rose with a touch of Tobacco and a hint of Black Elder. There is a touch of basement smell as well in this mix which probably comes from the patchouli and its not for the average nose to understand. But I do, and I love it. I have a sample, I NEED the bottle

My first toskovat and I was a bit scared. I was surprised by how much I enjoy this scent. To me, it is very similar to velvet rose and oud by Jo Malone. The raspberry really stands out to me. Reminds me of these raspberry hard candies I had as a child that came in a tin coated in powder. The scent is nostalgic, I can see how people say it smells like their grandmother, which does not bother me.

a sticky sweet fruity floral. the fruit notes are intensely ripened as if they’re only seconds away from decaying. something about this scent feels rather mournful, like sitting alone in an empty theater. reminds me of old hollywood glamour.

I Love sooooo Muchhh this scent! if you love Decadence by Marc Jacob, This is the besttt, the long lost sister of em. Curtain Call is screaming the ice cream soda scent on me, givin an airy,sweet & gorgeous floral scent.

Fruits rot and ferment in the murk. Sweet decay mingling with a damp, cloying scent of wilted flowers, velvety. An alluring whisper of decadence.

A very wearbale, sweet powdery floral scent - similar to miss dior DNA, although a slightly more natural smell.

Sweet rosy fragrances with a hint of bitterness assuming from the blood orange. nicely blended. 7/10

Another powdery sickly sweet floral. Just not my cup of tea
