Tova Nights

Tova Nights was a staple of mine for about 10 years when it was owned by Tova Borgnine, wife of actor Ernest Borgnine. I have never received so many compliments from both men and women as when I wore this fragrance (as well as the Tova fragrance in the clear bottle). It won a FiFi award in 1998. The perfume was sold to another company and became a shadow of its former self. Fragrance companies must think we are idiots to not notice a change in our favorite fragrance. Obviously this was a fabulous scent that would continue to sell, else they would not have purchased it. So what did they do? They kept the name and replaced the scent with a water down, barely recognizable scent. To tell the truth, there is no scent! I'd prefer a Bath and Body works spray to this. Foolish company to think that we would spend money on just a name without caring about what is actually inside the bottle!! Save your money on this poor concoction. Try and hunt down a vintage bottle if you can, you won't regret it.

I have several vintage, partial bottles so that I will hopefully have it with me for a long time. The only thing I can add to the reviews loving this is do NOT wear this in hot, hot temps!!! It is a powerhouse and the chemistry changes so much when you walk out of cool AC into infernal temps of summer. It REEKS and it will not die down any time soon. Showering doesn't help, nothing works but staying away from human population until it has ran its course. Not something you want to get stuck with for a potential date or killing those around you with no out to rid yourself of its toxicity lol

When I first started wearing Tova Nights in the early 2000's it was the most beautiful, sexy smelling perfume ever imo!!!! I had a woman approach me at the mall and ask what I was wearing , and a male co-worker literally expleted, "damn!!! You smell good!!!!" Those are a couple of many compliments that stand out in memory. 20 some odd yrs later my kids, now grown remember it. Even my now 34 yo son! Haha! I hate that it's no longer in it's original glory because it was a stunner!

I found a dry-oil spray. It's great. Spring florals, green, green, green! Lush yet dry. White pepper keeps it seriously sexy. While I don't mean to say this is a dupe for Dior Dune, it has a similar spicy-dry-fruity-floral thing going on. Could easily be worn in the day, but I'm not sure it's office-friendly.

I have the original and use it sparingly. Love it more than the signature. Shame IFRA got it's grubby hands on it. Haven't tried the reformulated. It's probably a skeleton of itself too. Oh well. The beat goes on...and the beat goes on....

I could just lay in a bathtub of this stuff! It is so wonderful! I bought the discovery set earlier this month(2014) and have really enjoyed all of the perfumes from this set. The Tova Nights stands out. It is delicious!

The Tova Signature Nights Platinum is the closest to the 'vintage' or original, pre-QVC buyout of Tova's brand. Very, very nice! And, not overpowering though "Nights" is in the title.

reading the reviews, I'll say Tova Nights is a fragrance of mysteries. When I bought it I liked it but it didn't last much on the skin. Somewhere I heard it has to do with ourselves, with some fragrances. While someone can smell a note to another person it disappears. But this one? This Summer I restart using it and at the beginning was very weird(the pear went bad?)Few days later, it didn't smell as I remember it but a fresh one, as I appreciate from the Tova line. I could smell it for 8hours plus. This days is cooler and it disappear quickly again

I too had the original fragrance which I adored. It wrapped me in sensual heaven due to the musk and sandalwood. However, on buying a new bottle, I have found that the smell is not the same. It is weaker somehow and the musk/sandalwood notes that I loved are nowhere to be seen (or smelt). A pity. How can you tell the difference between old and new? The only analogy I can give you is like a premier washing up liquid to a very cheap version of it. Cutting costs perhaps?

On me this scent had absolutely no lasting power and disappeared completely. I had problems to even tell what it should smell like. For a Night-Perfume it is disappointing. Other scents from Tova (e.g. Signature Autumn) have more staying power and are more of my likes.

Smells sort of like incense when you first spray it on in my opinion. Not my favourite smell in the world, but still quite nice.

this starts off quite woody and peppery, with some spices. maybe some of the top notes have died off? it kind of has a burnt spice quality on my skin, and also, i can see how it smells like french toast as well, mentioned by another reviewer below. what an odd scent, yet so familiar because i've smelled something like this before. i get more green and floral notes as it dries down, i think lily and iris primarily. dries down to lily and spices/woods with a toasted or nutty element. kind of weird on my skin honestly.

My bottle is different to the picture but it named nights so I think mine may be the reformulated one. To me it's a blind buy and I was disappointed by it. I don't know which part I dislike it, but the whole scent just make me feel sick. It may belong to the powdery note which remind me some old perfume on 80s. I think it's not for young girls.

I got 'Nights' at a great bargain price in a set of 3 x 50mls. Result - 2 out of 3 isn't too bad. Mind, Body, Spirit is a stinker for me, I wonder if that one has gone off to be honest. Signature is pleasant. Tova Nights is GORGEOUS! What a pleasant surprise! Green, a bit chypreish to my nose, like a lot of stuff I have already, very much my kind of smell. I think if you like Chanel 19, you should give this a try. I'm not sure why 'Nights' is the title because it smells like a crisp day perfume to me but never mind! My only complaint is that it is SO weak. Sprayed it in the palm of my hand about half an hour ago and it's practically gone already. I find it quite perplexing the way the strengths of these three 'EDP's are all so different! My least favourite, Mind..., is nuclear....

I thought this fragrance was beautiful and soft. It's no wonder I loved it like I did. It has notes of sandalwood, peony, and lilac (which are two of my favorite flowers). I loved that this fragrance did not carry the 'chemical' tone that turns me off of so many perfumes. It was blended beautifully, and no one note stood out or overpowered the rest. I would order more, but have read reviews that the formulation has changed, and many are disappointed in all Tova fragrances lately. I will keep listening though, because this is worth owning again in it's original formula.

Love, love, LOVE this fragrance! I was visiting in Germany one year and someone walked by me and instantly caught my attention. It was the best smelling perfume I had smelled on anyone.....ever. I had to ask what it was and she said Tova. Unfortunately I did not know it was Tova NIGHTS. I went through a couple of bad blind buys before I found the right one. I'm stockpiling! It's just delicious.........

I had to buy the reformulated version of this as I couldn't find the original anywhere. How on EARTH this can be classified as an EDP is beyond me....the smell literally evaporates in minutes. And I mean a few minutes. A faintly chemical (but not unpleasant) whiff and it disappears on me. So disappointing as I've heard great things about the original.

I found a 1 ounce full round ball shaped bottle of tova nights at a flea market. I sprayed it in the flea market and my friend immediately said the words "French toast". It totally clicked with me after she said that. It smells like a syrupy piece of French toast! It created a very nice scent bubble around me.

The vintage Tova Nights lasts so very much longer on the skin. I have a new reformulated one and it fades in about an hour. I would never buy it again . I still have a drop of the original as well as one half bottle of Tova....I am hoarding for special occasions.
