Yes, I get the bitter base notes too, and I just don't like bitter in frags. First on, it's almost minty, which I suppose is the basil and perhaps cypress. And then I get a green, not sweet, and tangy and fresh smelling blackberry with that darned herby bitter base note, pretty sure it's the calendula, which is just marigold, by the way. Marigolds are not known for their sweetness. I don't get the banana, if it's there, pretty subtle. Not too bad smelling otherwise, but I am not so sure I find it wearable, at least, not for me. It does smell wet and green, like going berry picking and catching wind of the fruitful, nearby trees, plants and herbs, all together in one whiff...if that's what the nose was going for, they nailed it! It's different, certainly not mainstream, you won't smell like everyone else. Moderate sillage and longevity.

This is an ok perfume, but I don't think it warrants an $80 price tag. It's nowhere near the other beautiful niche perfumes I own for that price. I might consider $30 though. It's a rather light, sweet, somewhat fruity scent. It starts out nice, but like many of their other perfumes, the longer I wear it, the less I like it. They all have some sort of sharp herbal base note that gets worse and worse the longer it's on my skin. I love banana and was excited to try it for the banana effect. Banana is there, but it's extremely subtle.

A fellow perfume afficionada has this one, and I've borrowed it to write the review. My thoughts on this are based on the perfume oil roller ball thingy. This scent is a bit strange --though what did I expect, since the box has a very un chien andalou-esque eyeball front and center? Do you like Escape for men? Would you like it in a box, with a fox, and a dollop of that banana-flavored stuff the dentist used to clean your teeth with? Look no further! This is *your* fragrance! The cardboardy note (the box)was slightly interesting to me, but there is a dirty doggy element to it (the fox). I think that kind of thing can work --as it does in L'Artisan's 'Mechant Loup', but I'm not fond of it in WR. If I had the budget for an 'Unusual Stuff to Occasionally Sniff' section in my perfume library, I'd add this one. Bar that, I think I'll keep saving up for something else to feed my head. -------------------------------- (FYI: My friend orders this stuff from Gaiatree.com)

I was so excited to discover this most delightful scent at at Fred Segal in Santa Monica. We were vacationing there this summer and i was looking for a perfume to compliment our fabulous day adventures in a place where you never know what to expect! This is one of the most alluring scents i own! The fruity notes are ever so subtle. Its fresh and green - I love the calendula infusion. Super summer sexy!
