13. march 2015 Recieved a new 50ml spray bottle in it ́s box yesterday and already tried it 2 times. First of all the notes (launched in 1997, so it ́s 90 ́s baby): TOP: basilic, orange blossom HEART: jasmine, rose, iris, tuberose, incense BASE: amber, oakmoss, vetyver, vanilla, patchouli The opening is very strange and if there would be such a thing as a female after shave - this would be it! But of course the mix of basil and orange is a sharp and fresh smell, so no wonders. It instantly reminded me of another german brand ́s perfume "Noa noa" by Otto Kern. Almost the same sharp opening, however "Noa Noa" is much better constructed and more complex than "Return". Later on the rose and jasmine start to evolve and as an "x-factor" there is an incence which is very detectable more and more, the clother you get to the middle stage. But there is also a very strong vetyver accord, which makes it smell like an aftershave, i guess. However after 10minutes into developement, it doesn ́t smell so sharp and "aftershaveish" anymore, just smells of sharp notes of flower and incense. The drydown has reminded me of "Noa Noa" again (vanilla!!) and another german perfume (which was launched much later however" - the B by Bogner for women (the Hantel). It has that dusty/powdery aftermix of notes that i actually enjoy, no matter how strange it might sound. The drydown is tender and comforting by all means. Great lasting power 16+hrs and very detectable sillage!!! Smells something like a niche fragrance would smell by today standards. It is a strange one, and i can hardly imagine myself wearing it, it needs a leather jacket and is probably a unisex fragrance, might be easily worn by a man.
