Embers 2012

Some soft citrus and rose in the top, with a soft vanillic thing with a woody undertone in the base. Had to spray 5 times in a single skin spot to be able to half-perceive something. Soft seems to be the anthem of this fragrance. I agree with Fragaddict4u, it reminds me of Nivea cream. Leans definitely feminine. I'm a strong lover of creative indie fragrances, but $220 for 30ml of vanillic nothingness, it's a hard no. I will assume that the stellar review here are based on the 2020 batch, and that Reinthal woke up in the meanwhile, and seriously reformulated this one to make it look like a perfume. Throwing oils together in a vial is not synonymous to creating a perfume, and here it's a textbook example. You got it: ultra hard pass for me.

@YouSmells: I guess that the previous review by @Fragaddict4u has been downvoted by a few TRNP fanboys, like mine (but still alive because not enough downvoting haha). Like you, me too I get mostly an 'ambery-ish thing' that would fit the name (Embers), but not at all the supposedly high amounts of sandalwood in this one, that I can only vaguely guess in the base (but would have never done so without the pyramid).

Received a bunch of samples from this house for Xmas, so I'm slowly getting through them, picked this one randomly as my second one, was happy with the first. Middle age male reviewer, fair amount of perfume experience. I see only one other review here from "Andy." What I do is dab a bunch of my tester on a paper plate and put it in the room with me to see how it performs, since I don't put perfumes on my skin (on my clothes instead). I have a much different opinion based on this; this scent has an immediate and pronounced "punch," and is fairly intense for a natural perfume, which are my favorite. I didn't look up the notes until after I took a whiff, and I couldn't identify anything before that, strangely enough, except to say it was a potent ambery-ish thing with what I'd have to guess was a floral (not a blatant rose) and a definite animalic under it which I'm never a real fan of. But it's an ok scent overall. Knowing the note breakdown now, and three hours in, I can say that it still has good projection for a natural, and is a fairly potent ambery floral. I don't know if I'd wear it because of the animalic, but it's not an overly dirty/gross; it's interesting and has kick to it, tho I guess some people's skin like the other review may not take to it. I'll never know, but I do know it projects for feet off a paper plate for hours. A sweet potent and definitely "heady" floral in my opinion, with a little yuk-gag detectable. Seems like a decent formulation for anyone into ambery dirty-sweet florals. Update, a week later: Left the test in that room, and it turns into a pleasant powdery amber that can be detected both in the room and even in the next to a small extent. The dirty side goes away and it's nice. Kinda surprising projection and lasting power for a natural.
