Gondwana

Teone was lovely enough to give me a perfume testing session and Gondwana really stuck out for me. It's a beautiful unisex scent that can be worn day and night and has been my go-to for the past few weeks.

Sometimes, the tradition have to be universal. Even if the times change, the essence will unchanged. Since late 19th century when people started to wearing it, Fougère note might become to one of traditional in that meaning. Gondwana is clasical and traditional Fougère scent, but like this supercontinent name, it has something a little excitement things in the coolish lavendar and fir air. Black Pepper is curiosity? the power of focus? Juniper Berries is inviting to mysterious forest? you may like it if you want to this.

This smells authentically as per the listed notes - fir trees, lavender, geranium and black pepper. Consequently I personally (40s female) would not choose to wear it as a perfume. It's more suitable for gentlemen who fondly recall fragrances like this from the 70s and 80s. Sillage is about right, and longevity good.

This is really teasing me . . . . Something classically beautiful that I remember way back - perhaps as far as the seventies - - but what? I'm in agreement with previous posts already on this page, especially the unisex teetering into masculine. A trouser-wearing Katherine Hepburn kind of perfume. The lavender is gorgeous (I'm not a fan of lavender, so this is a big statement) Combined with the fir = classic, nostalgic. Confident. The tonka beans and the sage don't assert themselves as identifiable notes, but they're there alright, otherwise this would be a straightforward uncomplicated lavender+fir. It's much more than that - it's a modern reboot of whatever that classic 70's fragrance was (still teasing me!) So now it's Cate Blanchett playing Hepburn kind of fragrance. A good one perhaps for those adventurous individuals that source retro and vintage fashion, and then wear it so well you cannot believe it's not current. I'm about to have a heck of a fabulous week trying out this sample.
