Mozas del Agua

Mozas del Agua is a story about "water lasses" - Cantabrian fairies, sprites, young maidens, or the like. Cold and crisp water, oozing and oily refreshing citruses, bright and verdant woods and soils, yellow lifegiving sunlight. Wearing it feels like I'm walking along one of the great Italian lakes in the summer sunshine, skipping along to the rhythm of nature and my own joy. It tells this fun and beautiful story using petitgrain and vetiver as the media. The first to be noticed is the petitgrain that contains enough bitter orange zest to leave a trail of oil down your chin, and its piquant citrus note is limey in the best way bergamot often is. The woody note to it is neon green, pliable, and youthful. A small touch of orange blossom adds an almost unnoticeable creamy orange nectar for a bit of breadth and saccharine innocence. Then comes the vetiver... which might be a bit more raunchy playfulness from these young lasses than innocent frivolity. The vetiver is properly swampy, acrid, and sulfurous in a naughty and pleasantly off-putting way, and taking the baton of the bright and energetic green woody aroma from the petitgrain. The verdant energy eventually calms down to a beige, dry, loamy patchouli at the skin scent that feels restful but still bright after so much energy expenditure. Mozas del Agua is very simple stuff, but its ability to hold your captivation is with how great these materials are. They smell whole, rich, well-rounded, full of naturalistic life and unadulterated by the hands of man or science. Lovely stuff.

Mozas del Agua has been reformulated and become more complex, the notes listed above are just his base notes. It's a gorgeous symphony of petitgrain, orange blossom, patchouli and vetiver. As a person who usually doesn't love citrus so much, my heart is captured by this perfume. The bitter orange note from TRNP always shines in amazing way, and Mozas del Agua has proven its incredibly beautiful. This is a woody floral with the Gorgeous golden citrus splash, fresh spicy. The brilliant orange blossoms and delicately cool green petitgrain glittered the golden white lustre on the deep base of vetiver and aged patchouli, somehow complex and intense, evoking a dark floral coke. After drydown, the earthy woody tone is root-like, soft smoky, light sweet and resinous, totally elegant on the skin. It is magnificent summery but has a deep side, just like a boat with silvery bells singing, carrying the mysterious flowers, drifting down in the moonlight river.

Masculine leaning, flamboyant gardenia from TRNP. Petitgrain, damp vetiver and a pronounced grapefruit, citrus overtone. It's kind of pungent with a mild tobacco undertone from the fresh petitgrain note. Interesting scent but missing a certain je ne sais quoi that makes fragrance wearable. Mozas del Agua is reminiscent of what you might smell in a rainy garden containing the above, and should be appreciated accordingly.

Very woody and aromatic patchouli. The grapefruit isnt overwhelming and adds a great contrast to the patchouli and citric aspect of petitgrain. All around pleasant fragrance if you love patchouli.

What is in this that gives the base a bitter green undertone? I notice it in Eau Naturel as well as The Bawd (not in database) and several others. It kinda ruins the perfume for me. Is it vetiver? I do have her Avant Gardenia and that is lacking the bitter note and is an easier wear.

This fragrance smells AMAZING in the air (about 10-12 inches away from the skin)... the patchouli used is one of the best (IMO). Very calming-meditative effect on me.
