This is a dupe of something gorgeous from way back in my childhood. The iris note is my favourite from amongst the florals, and it is certainly present in this - modestly urging the other florals forward with a kind of 'you go first, I'll just stay here in the background' The real star here is the unfamiliar to me note of Cypriol Oil. Not quite pine, not quite papyrus. Hint of pine but with the harshness removed. Papyrus minus the off-putting watery-rotting-pond. Its a revelation - I'm going to seek out Cypriol Oil in other testings. Startling how scent can transport you back through decades to a place with such clarity that you can recall the furniture in the room and temperature of the day. I'm thinking it must have been something my grandmother wore. I believe I may have sneakily opened a stopper of a bottle on her dressing table. I will wear it around my mother and see if she can identify it. Heavenly.
