Zeeba

Posted on my insta account Sept 2017: It can get boring when a blogger discovers a brand and keeps banging on about it ad nauseum. When you discover a brand which really moves you to the core, sometimes you have to just keep sharing! Zeeba by Teone Reinthal is one of those perfumes which has moved me in this way. Describing it as her most lavish work ever, Teone created this limited edition perfume with "Taif Rose absolute, a creamy soft and spectacular rose oil blended with leathery Vietnamese oud and Mysore sandalwood." The effect is absolutely sublime. The rose and sandalwood are creamy, soft, sweet and indulgent. The oud offers a dark counterpoint, emphasising and highlighting the beauty of the rose. This is beauty and the beast dancing by moonlight. This is the escaped black stallion set loose amongst the blooms! We have all smelled rose/oud perfumes, but never have I smelled one this beautiful. It is simple, it highlights the beauty of each ingredient and it is blended to perfection. Longevity and sillage are both good. Have no fear that naturals can't compete with other perfumery when Teone is at the helm.

Wow, this is all oud to my nose and nothing more. Glad I read the review below which mentioned aging the bottle for a year. Guess I'll do that and see if the rose and sandalwood come out? It's a very nice oud, but it's still oud, and all I smell is oud, so I'm not super oud-to-it! (In to it). I sprayed 8 hours ago on the crook of my arm where radius and ulna meet humerus, and I never experienced any projection. I had to put my nose to my arm for the duration of this perfume ride. When I put my nose to my arm now, it is even more of a skin scent, and smells like the kind of oud that's kind of spiky, and almost-fecal, but it never quite goes all the way to gag-inducing fecality. I hope this develops more (any!) rose and sandalwood, I think it'd be quite cool then. Otherwise, I'l have a 30ml bottle for sale! Update: sold it. I have no patience with poopy ouds anymore.

When people speak about a perfumer highlighting the inherent beauty of precious, treasured natural ingredients, this is what they’re talking about. Dr. Reinthal brilliantly blends this classic combination and reminds us why this combination is so often repeated: because every so often it turns out like this. Sharp, citric Taif Rose sparkles like a fine gem over the bare-skin-in-a-humid-climate Oud in the opening, with the sandalwood applying to the lens a soft-focus beauty from classic films. Over time the Oud becomes woodier, smokier and leathery with the rose darkening and the sandalwood going into a glowing amber phase. In anyone else’s hands, I’d say there’s certainly styrax or benzoin hiding in here but TRNP seems to be able to turn Sandalwood into anything. So who knows! Really fine work for lovers of the genre.

A close friend sent this to me completely unannounced. I didn't even know about this brand, so when I put this on this morning, I had no idea about it. The rose and sandalwood are perfectly balanced and the oud is not overpowering. This is such a beautiful scent, hard to find any fault with it. However, the perfume is a little safe and not noteworthy enough. The rose is very sweet and the sandalwood is divine, but it is not remarkable. Everything is in balance, but it is also a little forgettable. I can't find any faults with this, and that's why I don't think I could wear it consistently.

This is a simple yet very satisfying blend of rose, oud and sandalwood. The rose here is of the Taifi variety, which is my favorite type. I feel that Taif rose is the best type of rose that blends with oud simply because it provides a beautiful contrast due to its bright, fresh citrusy, sweet and fruity nuances. Even though Vietnamese oud is listed, I feel that it is a combination of Indian oud (with its sweet leathery nuances) and Vietnamese oud (with its green herbal nuances). The fragrance drydown to a Mysore sandalwood heavy base.

I'm so excited for this perfume oil. Zeeba is leathery luxe rose which has much pride. Taif Rose scent is warm like Spring, and seems gentle lady who received a honor about peace. Vietnamese Oud is like leather, Soft Mysore sandalwood gives my mind to rich, so it becomes like almost my skin. That's so simple, calm and really rich. Zeeba gives me sublime feeling.
