Reviewing a bottle from 2024. Trudon II (Deux) EDP was launched in 2017. Trudon II (Deux) is an elegant stroll through a European forest. It opens with a touch of citrus followed by a blend of fresh green sappy pine needles and dry/dusty cedar ( probably Virginian). I also sense fig and vetiver (? green notes) both not listed specifically. There is a touch of black pepper over a resinous incense base. There is no sweetness or florals giving II an ascetic minimal feel. Quality 5/5- excellent materials and blending by Lynn Harris who nicely displays her restrained and polished touch here. Unisex Performance 3.5/5- good sillage initially but transforms too quickly (in about an hour) to a skin scent which last 6-8 hours I see Trudon II as a lighter more fig prominent cousin to Perfumer H Rainwood and Aesop's Hwyl . It is a stunning forest fragrance but performance could be better although having to re-apply does not deter me from this beauty. *Trudon II was selected as a Top 5 finalist for Indie Fragrance of the Year at The Fragrance Foundation Awards in 2018. Trudon's Bruma won the award. 8/10

This scent remains at the top euphoria-inducing fragrances for me, possibly because it’s inextricably woven into a sun-drenched September day in Rome when I discovered it. After the initial awakening in the presence of a mighty green goddess, for me it conjures a Roman garden after rain, a rousing blend of petrichor, wine-dampened stone and sun-warmed tile, bracing pine and ancient cypress, fresh figs in early autumn entwined by the final jasmine blooms of summer. Sadly, projection falls short so the experience is too ephemeral and leaves me longing for more. Lingers a bit on fabric but fades quickly on skin. Still, it remains a go-to for when I want to be instantly transported to a portal beyond time, even for a glimpse.

Just got this after eyeing Monstera by Xinu, of which they smell pretty similar. I believe this one has a softer transition into something more "cologne-y" at the later stages but both Monstera and Deux possess the same green qualities. I prefer Monstera overall because of the ingredients, how it lasts longer, and the way it sits/transforms on my skin. But Deux really does the trick (and they sell a size in 12 mL which I got for traveling). When you spray Monstera, you'll get an immediate hit of green, like you're walking in a forest. For Deux, it'll take a second but it'll arrive at a similar place. I still highly recommend this scent!

This is such a beautiful green fragrance. It's one of the most realistic green openings I've ever smelled, and what it develops into really does remind me of a meditation temple in the woods like a previous reviewer said. It's perfectly unisex really, but I also think it's feminine in way. Like a green goddess or a forest nymph or something. I really love it. My issue though, is that it has absolutely zero projection. I am absolutely doused in it right now, I emptied an entire 1.5ml sample just for one application, and I can hardly smell it on myself. That's a disappointment because it means I simply can't justify buying the full size.

I honestly wish it follows its note pyramid because that's the type of perfume I always wanted. However as StellaDiverFlynn suggest, this is essentially a fig leaves perfume. This perfume has a familiar ring, in fact, three rings: the moist grass at beginning reminds me of Apsu by Ulrich Lang; the green fig reminiscent of Philosykos though less milky; and something that strongly resembles fresh soybean sauce had a similar vibe with Deja Le Printemps by Oriza something something. It has a very...ethereal kind of woody/white musky dry down. I don't get much pine tree, but it certainly is pleasant.

I quickly whiffed through a handful of new samples to settle my frazzled nerves, and this one caused me to do a big double take and commit the name to memory for later indulging. Later came, and I have never smelled so much incredible cedar in a cologne before this day. The pine is quite strong as well, but let me tell you about the Cedar. Yes, there is real cedar in there, and I am a BIG fan of cedar. Others have said enough good things about this cologne, but I will just say that this will give you a hearty dose of fine cedar.

Picture this: it's a sultry day in Puerto Rico, the air thick with humidity as you stroll through the historic streets of Viejo San Juan. Seeking refuge from the heat, you step into a quaint local boutique, greeted by a rush of cool air and an array of exquisite fashion pieces. Trudon II smells exactly like the inside of this store – aged colonial wood and the lush, verdant essence of the tropics. It's pure magic, an olfactory journey for this Caribbean soul. A full bottle of this fragrance? Absolutely essential for me!

This reminds me a lot of Balade Sauvage by Dior. To me this smells like a green/fig candle, after it was burned for some time. You can smell both the vague sweetness of the wax perfume together with some slight incense smoke. I also agree with mrmorel about it smelling a lot like a tomato leaf. It feels like the perfume interpretation of a home fragrance in the shape of a candle. It smells opulent, lavish and yet bright, like an elegant decorated space, and I enjoy the waxy, burned candle-like character.

Dry, coniferous and woody, with bitter green notes (galbanum!) coming through. Not a pretty fragrance at all as there are no flowers, no 'happy' notes, no comforting musks or sweet ambers. As a matter of fact, Trudon II is one of the most auster fragrances I know. The olfactory equivalent to a Zen monks cell. Lasts remarkably long on my otherwise perfume absorbing skin. Cold weather fragrance. And I have no idea how the people commenting below can smell fig in here!

I’m in love. Green leaves, bitter orange, pine, incense. It’s not linear- which isn’t always a good thing for me, but each part is just as beautiful as the last. So I don’t have to be impatient waiting for my favorite part because it’s all gorgeous. I sampled this for the first time months ago and it didn’t move me, but after I gave it a full wear, I had to get a bottle. Truly stunning. And now I can’t stop wearing it.

II is very special. For me, it is not a fig perfume at all. Some sappy green (fig?) leaves do come through, but only in the top notes. What it develops into is deeply spiritual. II is the scent of a temple, built deep within a forest, where you retreat to meditate and seek peace. I wonder how palo santo is not in the notes, but maybe the incense and cedar notes somehow combine into just that.

Someone who has walked in the woods and their own musk mixed with nature, you can't stop smelling this person. I want to smell this on a man so bad. The green is sorrel forward, leafy, but it departs rather quickly while the earthy, stem sourness remains (I think that comes from the pepper note). Perhaps the most intimate green so far.

One of my stronger perfumes - for me I get fig and green all over here which just goes to show our noses are all different. Reminds me of Premier Figuier Extreme from L’Artisan Parfumeur although I would say this is stronger and lasts longer.

Perfect encapsulation of a walk in rainy woods in the PNW. Starts out very cedar/pine and I wish it stayed that way longer. Dries down a lot warmer with the incense notes coming through. On me definitely leans more masculine.

Green stems, green leaves, a bit bitter. Marvelous scent for galbanum lovers. I do get some fig, though not in a milky way, more fresh, classy cologne. Longevity on my silk scarf forever, on skin 6 hours.

So fresh and beautiful. It was obviously unisex in the beginning however it became feminin so shortly. Not artificial at all very natural and refreshing.

Applies the best brisk green that's dewy with a slight twiggy-ness. Definite tomato vine, which is the best, but softened with cedar, juniper berries, and faint heat from peppercorns. Bitter orange adds refreshing citrus. The mid is lifted by a shampoo note that's not too soapy. Incense floats, adding minimal smoky balance. Becomes a skin scent quickly. The strength is too weak to recommend a bottle. As a lover of green scents, clothes project one of the most supple, brisk greens with tasteful edge. Dewy watermelon skin and tomato vine with a thicker body than you're used to. Warming skin brings out more wood and, while it's too weak, the mossy green surprisingly lingers - which never happens. Clothes radiates divine green that's good enough to try for fans of the genre. 2ND REVIEW: Heavy application due to previously weak experience. Damp green is good, but equally strong baby powder is gross. After 15 mins, settles into unique loam I like, but shampoo element remains a struggle that kind of works. Base of incense and cedar adds warmth, while cashmere is too dry/stale. After an hour, everything settles into gorgeous, damp, mossy green with sweet cedar. Minimal projection defeats it. There’s that Southern California chaparral note I fell in love with! Delightfully damp, musky nature that’s too fleeting to be fully enjoyed. Worth getting a sample to join me in crying that no one will ever smell how good it is. 1ST TRY: Woody, green scent that’s unfortunately mild. Immediately reminiscent of Southern California chaparral/forest due to its unique botanic musk. Damp foliage balanced by bright cedar warmth that’s subtlety spiced. I love everything about it, but have to shove my nose against it to smell. What a shame. Would love to own, but have to load it on.

Angular, spare, ascetic, impressively classy but fatally discreet green elegance. IMO not one of the strongest, and certainly not one of the strongest-performing, of Trudon's wonderful line, but it's worthy of its place in their catalogue - and that's high praise. On me the orange is so bitter (not a bad thing at all!) but so fleeting (boo, hiss!) that it barely makes an impression, while the leafy notes soon take over with a strong rustle of galbanum and sappiness that makes it great for a hot day, and maybe skewing a bit more towards the masculine end of unisex. Juniper just a whisper, nothing like the gin-like bludgeon of PG L'Eau Guerriere, for instance. As you'd expect from a house that's all about classic French elegance, restrained and well-judged enough to work for almost anyone; while it hits a lot of the same notes as PR Ichnusa or House of Matriarch Bonsai, it's nothing like as vividly, roughly verdant as they can be, so you'll never feel overwhelmed. While some of its forest cousins may make you feel like a bedraggled hiker fresh from a roll in some clippings, this one just gets you clean and fresh and rather smartly - even formally - dressed. Conjured faint echoes of Rouge Bunny Rouge's Tundra or CDG Sugi instead- though for its edge of conifer, maybe closest of all to Aesop's often underrated Hwyl. The Achilles heel is the way it retreats so fast, with the scent bubble more or less totally popped within 3 hours. If it's a garden, it's a well-tended and rather manicured arboretum - not a wild tangly forest, nor yet a bed of roses. Very respectable indeed.

In the top, I get a stunning blast of greenness, supported by a strong peppery incense, citruses and juniper. Unfortunately this exceptional masculine opening a la Beethoven's Symphony No.9 doesn't last long and will morph into an -already-seen-before green-ish accord (very probably a fig leaf accord, with possibly some basil). This accord will stay until the base, when some creamy- ness/milky-ness will be added to the blend (cashmeran? Musk?), and bring it into the unisex territory - or possibly a bit feminine. I totally agree with Birnam_Wood that the top reminds of UL Apsu, and the heart of Dyptique Philosykos. I would further add that it is close to Costume National Cyber Garden (minus the vinyl accord) in the heart and base, and even a bit of La Curie Larrea and MiN Onsen. Overall a body that does not meet the expectations of the opening, even if it is an excellent green fragrance in itself. Like for Mortel (which is a "best-of" incense/resinous fragrances), here it is a "best-of" of green fragrances. Like for other fragrances of this house, the performance is below average on my skin. This, added to non-uniqueness does not justify the price tag imo. Even if a great overall result, this is possibly my least favourite from this house. Just a "like" rating for me, but may fit the bill for someone looking for a great one-size-fits-all high end green fragrance. I will for sure enjoy my travel spray until it lasts. Spring days, women 20+ (men 30+)

Although fig leaf is not listed as a note, II (called Deux on Trudon website, which means 2 in French) is primarily a fig leaf fragrance on my skin. II opens with vivid, crunchy verdancy, reminiscent of freshly mowed lawn, but much more polished and not as aggressive as the real cut grass. The combined effect of this greenery and a subtle laconic undertone, smells very much like the sap oozing out of the crunched fig leaves to me. There is also a very soft minty nuance popping up from time to time, which makes II kind of a even greener version of Oriza Déjà Le Printemps. II remains mostly this green fig leaf fragrance during its 8-hour wear on my skin. It does develop a gentle woody undercurrent reminiscent of lentisque and pine, which discreetly transforms the initial dewy texture into a drier, slightly powdery one. But overall, there isn't any significant change. The sillage is moderate during the first hour, and drops to a skin scent afterwards. While I don't find II brings anything wildly novel to the green fig genre, which has become a quite crowded category nowadays, it doesn't feel annoyingly redundant to me. In contrary, it's such a solidly made fragrance, and smells green and fresh in such a natural, evocative way, that is always a pleasure to experience. I would definitely recommend it to fans of green fragrances, especially if you're fond of elements such as green fig leaf and grass.

As the reviewer before me noted, Dieux smells Iike a wet, green fig leaf fragrance though fig is not listed as a note. I asked the Trudon SA about this and she seems to think it’s a combination of the coniferous, green, and fruity notes giving this impression. It’s bright, and cool- would be refreshing on a warm day. It does smell similar to Debaser to me in that juicy, green fig way, though Debaser seems sweeter with the milky coconut. Oddly, this one from the 5 scents lasts the longest on my skin. I’m not that drawn to the fig genre, but I do prefer the more lush, watery fig scents over the drier, coconutty types (Philosykos) and I happen to really like Debaser on a hot day. A definite try if is you love cool, fresh, figgy perfumes.

II is a verdant take on the eau de Cologne genre – green, peppery, coniferous, and citrusy. The top of bitter orange, fresh cut leaves, and pepper tickles the nose with its cool, dusty composition; the result is, as others have mentioned, very reminiscent of fig leaf. Green all the way through its evolution, pine and juniper mingle with tendrils of slightly smoky incense and soft Cashmeran in the calmative dry down. There’s quality and confidence here despite its fleeting sillage and moderate longevity. Layers beautifully with Révolution, amplifying the latter’s forest accord. One to try for any green or fig perfume devotees. 7/10

Really green and slightly damp, but more along the lines of a freshly watered garden; a bright, cool, and clean mix of greenery and aromatics. There's a moment in the opening where the green is almost like tomato leaf—a peppery vegetal bite. I like that, but its character as it dries down is entirely soft skin. I'm not convinced by the fig that others here claim—it has a little of that feel, but to me it's much grassier with a citrus bend. The pine is present, but only off in the distance, barely detectable. This one is pleasant but ultimately forgettable. It's a little sweet and clean in the way of Gap scents of the 90s.

On first spray it's one of the most beautiful realistic green grassy scent I have ever smelled. There is also some sweet citrus at the top which makes it very wearable. The top notes the n disappear however into a dry down of incense and cedarwood, which gives it a meditative and calming temple in the woods vibe. I almost got a FB of this scent BUT in my most recent wearing I detected the incredibly sour juniper berry note which reminds me of Le Labo's Baie 19, which is a fragrance that I dislike. So because of this I won't be getting a FB. Honestly if there is no juniper berry this would be a perfect green scent.

This is a delightful coniferous, woody fragrance. But I don’t get “green leaves” or anything I’d consider fresh or dewy. There is no chlorophyll here. Instead it’s a lot of very nice resinous wood with hints of black pepper and caraway with restrained wafts of incense. Enough that I think it’s suitable for year-round wear. In fact, it’s starting to remind me of the woody drydown of Halston’s Catalyst for Men. Buy this for the wood, not for any verdant brightness.

Miller Harris excels in this kind of scent but there's always the odd note I dislike. I sampled a bunch of great options from them but each one had something I didn't fully love. Not with this one. This green beauty from Lyn Harris might just be the perfect green I've been looking for. This smells like a stroll through a rainy green forest. No intrusive floral, no overused vetiver/patchouli plants, no weird out of place niche note. Just a great Spring green.

It starts off very green and juicy, just how I like; I think there's galbanum here, too. Dries down into a woodsy, smokey scent. If I have to compare the dry down to something, I would say it's between Fille en Aiguilles and Hwyl. The opening is my favourite part, the dry down doesn't smell bad or anything, but in my mind, I felt like this should be a candle rather than a perfume; I'm not sure why! Pleasant, but not for me.

It's a rlly good greenly fragrance that i can give a high rec for it. But, for me, the projection and longevity is too weak. I used to like this fragrance lots, but not anymore. I prefer to have stronger and monster one these days. If someone is interested in this, I can say u need to go for it at least with a decent. A rlly good one

Just received a sample of this and love it. As a gardener, it’s sharp secateurs through green wood with fresh, milky sap flowing from the cut. If you like fig based fragrances this is for you as the milky freshness combined with the older, more resinous wood evokes something similar but longer lasting.

Fig leaves and green notes all the way. Reminds me of Philsoykos by Diptyque. I enjoyed the way it made me feel. Longevity good, sillage moderate. I have the whole range so far, this one a favorite.

To make it clear - this is a fig fragrance. It smells like fig leaves, branches, and fig fruits. “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Which exactly applies the same way for figs.

i really want them to make Abdel Kader scent perfume!!!

This one whispers. Green and airy up top, like leaves brushing past you on the way to somewhere else. It slips quickly into a soft incense and cashmere base, which sounds cozy but ends up more “forgotten shawl” than statement piece. If you’re looking for subtle, it’s doing the job. Personally, I kept waiting for it to start. Leans feminine, but mostly just feels like background music for someone else’s mood. MOVIE MATCH: Lost in Translation — delicate, introspective, and maybe a little too quiet for its own good.

I didn't like the opening of this at all, because it's just too synthetic: pine is a very hard note to get right, and if it doesn't come across as natural, it reminds me too much of cleaning products. But after the screechy top, this settled down quite a bit and was more enjoyable and even relaxing. I would hesitate to buy it, though, because of that opening.

I want to love but compared to other spring/green fragrances to me it comes across a little drab and old. I dont get resin or pine but the leafy note is fleeting and the dry down is nice but personally I just prefer a green fragrances to be brighter. Not to mention, sillage and longevity are weak on my skin

almost purely green leaves. it reminds me of going into the garden when i was a kid and picking leaves off of herbs and crushing them in my hands. very photorealistic garden scent, makes me think of tomato and fig leaves. its not sharp at all, very smooth and calming.

Deux sounded good on paper...the descriptions of other reviewers sounded promising as well...however, a key detail is being overlooked concerning this fragrance...there is an unlisted note here that dominates this release...DILL!!!....the opening is pungent dill weed...I presume “green leaves” is actually dill weed...this is actually a dill weed fragrance, not simply “grassy” or “piney”...sure, I smell moist grass underneath...and even further, there’s a slight pine essence...but, nothing manages to overtake the dill...didn’t want a dill fragrance...NO 👎🏻

This smells just like a Molecule fragrance (I think a cross between Escentric 03 and 05). I get a lot of synthetic woods, black pepper, coniferous accords, and ambroxan. I wouldn't mind this on a man, but it's a pass for me--too synthetic-smelling for my liking. Leans heavily masculine IMO.

Note to editors: It took way too much time to try to locate this fragrance in the database. Possibly including the word "Deux" would help. Also using the name Cire Trudon instead of Maison Trudon would be an improvement. Re: the fragrance, it's very sour green and reminds me of straight-up gallbanum in a way. It reminds me also of Eau de Cartier Concentree in that its mostly about bitter citrus and astringent green notes. If I blind smelled this perfume without knowing what it was, I would say it was a typical designer man's cologne from at least a couple of decades ago.

I have Spiritus Sancti and Abd El Kader for my house. They are both excellent and SS is magnificent. Upon learning the Maison Trudon branched out to do people perfume, I bought a few samples. This one smells of an open forest after the rain, without the petrichor smell of the earth. It seems to focus on the vegetal only. Initial impression was very good, but the weakness of the performance made it a large disappointment. The aroma is excellent, but dissipates so fast despite using a few doses, that I can't see the purpose of this.

I sprayed this on myself in the bathroom after getting ready, when my partner entered after me he shouted "Smells like a sexy forest in here!" and he's not wrong. Starts with a burst of juicy, stemmy green, dries down to a sexy woody incense with green-pine overtones. Incredibly smooth and not at all bitter. I love Lyn Harris so I am biased, but this is my new signature scent.

II is stunning. It's a clean, pared back, very refined fig-licious scent. Similar in many ways to Philosykos by Dyptique. Definitely has the best performance of the five Maison Trudon fragrances on my shelf. It used to be my third fave from their lineup after Mortel and Revolution. But I think it's edging towards a promotion as my second top pick from the range.

It’s dewy, fresh and a little spicy. Sometimes when I wear it in heat I get peppery tomato vines , other times it’s a wet green pine forest (without reading “holiday”). It’s always beautiful and the most wearable scent I own... clean, unique, green and inoffensive. It would be absolutely perfect if it lasted longer but even so it’s the bottle I reach for most.

Trvdon II is one of the most photo-realistic scents that I have tried. The incense at the beginning really speaks, but after around 5 minutes, it mellows out to a slight orange and a soft pine. Evokes childhood memories of burning wood in the forest. Projection - 5/10 Longevity - 5/10 Leaning Masculine Price Paid - $100 Value For Money(Overall) - 6/10

A green woody fragrance with a very natural character. Forest leaves, woods and subtle earthy nuances create a calm, understated composition. The scent remains fairly soft throughout and is almost difficult to detect at times.

Where is the fig leaves note! This is most likely is figs leaves, then black peppers, cedar, incense, & amber. It isn't green leaves, it's figs leaves with dusty yet cashmere.

This is exactly as it says. Citrus, green and some pine. I dont get the fig at all and agree with mrmorel . Kids aren't a fan although they dont hate it.

The most photorealistic grass scent ive tried. As if you rushed into a wet grassfield and skid across it, the stains on ur clothes is this fragrance

Are we really not going to discuss Angeliques sous le pluie??? Creamier and colder right off the bat, but where has this been all my life?
