Hippie Chic

I honestly didn't expect much from this perfume. I found a travel size bottle at Marshall's for $8 and decided to try it. Hippie Chic is a light fruity floral, but I guess it just goes really well with my chemistry. I love how it smells! It is one of my go-to perfumes. It's definitely a crowd pleaser even though it's not very original. I think on me it is just balanced really well. It isn't too sweet or too floral or too fruity and it is a light scent, but that's the kind of fragrances I like. I have worked through half of my bottle which is saying a lot for me because I go through perfume very slowly haha. I'm planning on buying another bottle when I run out. I will say it does smell kind of similar to Ralph, but I think Ralph is more floral and musky whereas Hippie Chic is more fruity.

this is one of my favorite perfume of all time.I've had Chanel, Kenzo, Gucci in the past but they all smell so synthetic giving me a head ache. This perfume is sweet , clean , and healhty. When I first tried this fragrant, I couldn't tell the difference between Hippie Chic and the discontinued You Sexy thing from Sexy Little Things line of Victoria's Secret perfumes. Sexy Little thing has been discontinued so this is almost an identical match in my opinion for those who loved Sexy Little things. I do not find Hippie Chic smelling too much like Ralph. Ralph is similar but Ralph is more head ache inducing artificial synthetic smelling. I can see old people hating this perfume and younger girls loving it.

Most hippies I know smell like dirt, weed, sweat and grime. This perfume smells like fruits, flowers and wood. I really enjoy how nice it is and I am so glad it smells so nice for a blind purchase. It is very nice and sophisticated. I find myself reaching for it all the time lately and the bottle with the little dangles looks beautiful on my cabinet. The lasting power is pretty decent on clothes and mediocre on skin l. In all honesty it smells like passion fruit with a hint of wood. I'm not into citrus smells but I enjoy this a lot. Best part? I got the 50 ml bottle at Marshalls for only $10. Love!

I'm waiting for this to arrive in the mail right now! A few months ago ulta sent out a catalog and it had a sample of this inside and i fell in love! then a few days ago i was at macy's and tried some on and i absolutely loved it. On me the perfume smells almost a bit citrus-y and i really love it! everyone is right about the scent not lasting too long (maybe 2-3 hours) so the purse spray is a must! But overall its a great perfume and usually i would never EVER spend so much money on a perfume but this was actually worth it.

Mmmmmmm.....fresh crisp apples with just a bit of a sweet floral bouquet. This fragrance brings to mind the first crisp fall wind, and the promise of cooler weather to come. It is like a breath of crisp air in the middle of an apple orchard, on a brisk autumn harvest morning. This scent is exhilirating! The projection is good, but never overpowering, and the longevity is about 3 to 4 hours.

I love this, it's nothing really special but I still love it. It is a light, clean scent, like just got out of the shower clean. I feel that this is one of those that could be safe to wear everyday. It would also be appropriate for a young girl. Only downside I find is that it does not last long enough on my skin.

Omg this smells like shampoo in the best way! So light and fresh and girly and summery. Effortless and this actually is pretty strong! You don't have to put your nose right up to it to smell it, it wafts as you move around. Lovveee it and perfect for summer.

I love this perfume I had got a sample at macys months ago and its very clean.Love to pair this with bath and body works new into the wild lotion. It smells so good but I do agree that the staying power could be better.

This is the very first perfume that I bought for myself. When it's on me it almost smells more citrusy than fruity, and it smells super fresh. I always find myself reaching for this one over my other fragrances.

One of my absolute favorites! Very sweet and pretty. As another reviewer put it, "youthful and unoffensive", my go-to for day wear.

TRUE RELIGION is one of those companies that (I think) is extremely overpriced, but consistently when I see their stuff I say: "WOW! That's really cool!". I am very happy with their fragrances, and can actually say I like everything I have smelled that they have released thus far. I love how the slogan for their fragrances is "FASHION FOR THE SENSES"! And, really, isn't that what perfumes are?? I, too, expected some earthy oriental floral with lots of dark exotic woods from something named HIPPIE CHIC. After seeing the name in print (for the first time) I thought it was "hippy sheek" (French for "fancy") but judging by the girl on the gift set; it IS indeed CHICK. HC opens with a lovely apple note (Fuji and Gala apples are my favorites), with a sweet raspberry vibe and the tartness of pomegranates. Fruity florals, at least these days, are a dime a dozen; but this has a very interesting opening which, though similar to RL's RALPH is a bit more carefree and bright. The flowers in the heart are a lovely balance of clear "green" muguet and warm tropical hibiscus, underpinned with a soft, but "light" and playful jasmine. Indeed, very feminine, it dries down to something vaguely woody and not all that musky. Here, I do not get the "dirty hippy" impression at all; but the type of "all natural" vegan girl who buys organic, locally-grown fresh fruits at a farmer's market, wears fresh flowers in her hair and wears comfortable clothing made of all natural fibres and would rather smell clean and fresh, from natural essential oils, than douse herslf in some god-awful cheap patchouli. A TRUE hippy loves Mother Nature, embraces life and tries to become "one" with Her. Hippie Chic does that...simply, succinctly and with a smile on her face. Sillage: good Longevity: above average Overall: 3.5/5 I LOVE the way True Religion optimistically "portrays" a girl who just happens to be a hippy: naturally, sweetly and without ANY of the "dated" trappings associated with that movement. She still hugs trees, dances in the rain, thinks globally but acts locally. This is the 21st century, and she may still be "groovy" but she does not have to smell like she went to Woodstock, smoked a ton of cannabis and wears incense oils instead of bathing. Though Hippie Chic is nothing ground-breaking or all that different, it is something utterly refreshing and gives a very "new" spin to a style that had become rather trite and "tired". THIS hippy wears tie dyes because she LIKES the colors and NOT because everyone else is doing it. She is delightful and I really "dig" her... Far out, Maaaaan! *gives peace sign*

Smells good but doesn’t last. It’s both fresh and sweet. Quite uplifting actually. I think it’s mostly a spring scent. But it could also be worn during some hot summer days. And maybe even on sunny winter days. Especially when winter is about to end. The sun is lifting your mood after those dark days. And this fragrance will lift it even further. Almost like a fresh start. The opening is almost identical to RALPH by Ralph Lauren. In about 3 hours I can only smell it if I push my nose into my wrists. After those 3 hours it smells a bit different, less fresh, more so like a sweet skin scent. Which is pretty nice. But I want that scent to be a lot stronger. Of course it lasts a lot longer on clothes. I can imagine this being a spring/summer bedtime scent. It’s not cozy, but something you might like on a really hot day after a shower.. something that makes you feel fresh and clean. Or it could be something you would spray on a lazy spring/summer morning. Maybe you are hanging out around the house in your pyjama's. And taking a shower at the end of the morning. After the shower you put on a different fragrance for the rest of the day.

I loved the fruity aspect - the raspberry and apple are very prominent - and if you get close, it has a "green" scent on the same line as Peace, Love, and Juicy. I thought at first I loved it, but in my opinion, it has a lot of staying power and is a bit too heavy for me. If you want more fruit than green, go with this. If you want a more green scent, definitely go with Peace, Love, and Juicy. I think it would be much better suited for spring, because it's a bit too heavy for summer, but too fresh for winter. Just realized it also smells A LOT like Coach Poppy!! Smell all three, you might find what you're looking for if one of the 3 isn't quite right. Edit!! Freaking 3 years later!! Re-reading reviews on this... 100% agree, this IS "RALPH" by Ralph Lauren. It just is. As soon as I read a review saying that, the 90s/00s came flooding back to me. Dear lord, they are identical. Also smells like a Rimmel perfume (round pink bottle) I had back in the day, but that's neither here nor there. ;)

On me, the initial spray of Hippie Chic feels very sharp, with the fruits indistinguishable from one another. Maybe the apple is the sharp note? Cedar starts to come though after a couple of minutes and at that point I'm not liking it at all. It's an unpleasant aftershave scent. But I wait. After 10 minutes or so, it morphs into a lovely floral fruity scent that reminds me of something...the page here says Ralph by Ralph Lauren, which I tried years ago and liked but don't recall well enough to agree or not. I clicked through and Fragrantica members say Ralph smells like Paris Hilton EDP. Never tried that. Clicked through to read the reviews for Paris Hilton and - yes! Now I know what this smells like after it settles some. Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier Womens EDT, which I LOVE but already have. So, once I got past the first 10 minutes, I could definitely see myself wearing this in the summer. Sadly, after 30 minutes it's barely a skin scent. I'll have to pass.

Really good! Smells like apple perfume! The apple note is prominent and then it turns into a lightly fruity, fresh, floral blend. Inoffensive and clean. Smells a little like a clean women’s restroom. At least it smells like those air freshener sprays they use in there. Not that it’s a bad smell, I like it a lot! Sillage is ok, could be a little stronger, and longevity is fairly weak. It lasted 3-4 on me and then completely fades away. I love the bottle and the little ribbon with the charm on it! I also love the box and the font they chose for this. It’s so cute! Scent: 7.5/10 (lovely and likeable) Longevity: 4/10 Sillage: 5/10 Price: 5/10 ($50 for this is ok but it really could’ve been longer lasting) School and Work Friendly! I have it and it is everything they describe it as. Fruity, floral and sweet. I bought it blind at TJ Maxx for a steal. I wear it in the morning around the house for kicks. It does not have much staying power, about 2 hours on me and not much silage at all. It is not very complex but it is youthful. I think it would be perfect for a young lady or girl as it is sweet and sort of innocent in a charming way. I like it ok but won't buy it again because it is too young for me and like more complexity and depth in my perfumes but it's a great buy for someone younger for the money. I need my perfume to mess with my head and take me on a journey, this one is just too sweet and the ride in too short.

My friend wears this perfume and she loves it. I agree that the name doesn't really match up with the scent. It's very much a fruity scent with a soft but still noticeable woodsy quality, and hearing this name I would have guessed it to be an earthy floral. My friend describes it as a "masculine grapefruit", although there isn't a grapefruit note I'm guessing that this is the apple and pomegranate that we're getting. It smells quite lovely on her and lasts at least a couple hours. The scent is fairly linear; noticeable, but not overpowering in the slightest, and I would say could easily be worn in warmer weather. It's very pleasant.

I smelled this on a test strip in the store and I really liked it, but I just couldn't quite place why it smelled so familiar. Then it hit me: LAUNDRY DETERGENT! Not the icky soapy detergent, just the light, bright, uplifting smell of walking by someone's open window in the evening when they're running a load of laundry and using some fabric softener called "Sunshine Meadow" or something. Bright, clean, sorta citrus-fruity. I wouldn't ever choose to call it Hippie anything, but then again, I only smelled it for a few minutes on a test strip. Maybe wearing it would make it different...

This is a great scent, but to light. It is a fruity, sweet, melon like smell. I am surprised honey dew melon is not one of the notes. It projects best in the spring & summer. It's funny because when I put this on, it starts off smelling exactly like Ralph from Ralph Lauren, but with my body chemistry, the slight difference is very noticeable after it dries down. Ralph smelled almost burning-the-throat tart raspberry on me, whereas Hippie Chic gets this soft, mellow, clean skin thing going on. I'm surprised that the two smell so different on me when the start is so similar, but I'm glad I gave this perfume a shot despite the similarities. I wear this a lot in the spring and summer when I want to feel fun and playful.

This is a Plain Jane fruity-floral...and that’s fine! This was a blind buy that I recently purchased for myself. I decided to wear this on a road trip. It performed very well. Hippie Chic works well with most day time activities. No frills, just a straight-forward, fruity-floral with character. The longevity and sillage were both beastly. This is not your daughter’s fruity-floral—it has a tad more depth. Yet, it is not dated in the least bit. Hippie Chic is a safe blind buy and fits perfectly in today’s world of fragrance.

I had this whenever I was still in school. I had previously had DKNY Be Delicious and fruity apple smells were appealing to me. I like how this was a soft and slightly woodsy version of an apple scent. I like it, however, it does smell like other reviews said pretty run of the mill. You could easily find something similar. The longevity and sillage are also pretty poor. It was a good pick for me as a 14-year-old then. Very unoffensive, mild, and pretty.

It's a nice scent, nothing extordinary or different but just a nice sweet scent. I feel it's closer to a body spray, to be specific the Calgon Tahitian Orchid. It doesn't really last on my skin but when it's on my clothes I can smell it all day and all night! It's something to spray when you're out of the shower and you've gotta make a run somewhere like the grocery store or an errand.

A bright, fruity floral that's quite pretty if rather generic. A little sour, for me this opens with mostly raspberry, apple, and florals and softens into more musky notes as time goes on. I actually reach for this a lot in the springtime and sometimes in the summer. It's more complex and less youthful than some of my 2000s classics and a lot easier to wear to the office.

The fruit in this is so sour I feel it in my throat. That's not to say it's unpleasant, but it definitely doesn't smell hippie chic. If you want a similar preppy girl/ "Ralph" type scent without feeling a sharpness in the top of your throat when smelling it, I recommend vera wang's princess power. It is much softer yet still retains that (anti hippie) freshness

Not really a "flower power" hippie vibe, but I really enjoy wearing this perfume. It has a very fruity, fresh scent. It is light and not the most long lasting perfume I have ever worn. I have the purse size spary and need to reapply during lunch to make it last all day. Overall just a nice, clean wearing perfume with a nice big price tag.....

It smells so beautiful but doesn't last very long. I really feel like I've wasted my money. It's turned into my work perfume. At first, it smells wonderfully sharp and fresh. A bit fruity, but not overly fruity like all the others on the market. It's a truly "pretty" scent. But it fades after 20 minutes. 80 bucks down the drain.

I love the Fantastic Top Notes in this Jasmine Maybe? A very fresh floral Smells heavenly After wearing it for a few weeks My only complaint is it doesn't have any staying power to justify the price it fades away after 1 hr of wearing very disappointed. Its no better than a body spray

I like this smell but I think I will seldom wear it. The heavier notes smell bittersweet but the fruity notes are clean smelling. For me I think it's a little too sweet. Overall it is nice it seems like a springtime perfume for wearing during the day.

An oldie but goodie! A sparkling fruity floral fragrance that’s perfect for summer. The apple and raspberry stand out in the opening. As it dries down it becomes somewhat aquatic and musky. An easy reach for me, pleasant and simplistic!

I thought this would smell decent with a marshmallow body spray so I looked up the notes and with the marshmallow added it completely fit vera Wang's princess line's pyramid pattern. so I tried it and voila a great brand new smell

Nice fruity, fresh, reminds me of Fructis Shampoo, nothing offensive, light and clean smell. Shame doesn't last long, probably an hour. I always keep it in my hand bag as a spear just to fresh up every now and then.

Airy, light, fresh and fruity but sadly, gone in a hour. add. this is so great. It's puppies, frolicking kittens, daffodils and daisies, apple pie and sunshine on a green field of flowers. Peace and love!

Salon Selectives from back in the day....super strong APPLE...eventually that tones down a bit and you get an almost exact copy of Ralph.. All its missing is the freesia and it would be a smell alike.

I like this but I wouldn't wear it personally (it's probably the jasmine). Nothing smells "hippie" about it (IMO). But it does remind me of something my sister would wear and smell great in.

It has a light fruity/flowerly scent, very much like a body spray. If you don't like heavy musky sprays, then this might suit you. I like it, I find it very fresh and airy as well.

it really does smell just like Ralph by Ralph Lauren. It smells good at first but it is almost too light of a scent and I agree it doesn't stay. I wish I would've saved my money.

This is a good fragrance. Not very complex but not offensive. It's one for high school girls. Very fizzy with strong apple notes. It works as a cheap gift for a young girl.

Starts with apple and rose for me. Gets shampoo-ish in the middle. A tad aquatic. I can smell the raspberry when it’s dry. I like this!

This is a really nice fruity floral scent. I smell jasmine which gives it a light airy scent. I totally like. Thumbs up!

I have owned two big bottles of this perfume, both purchased when I was a teenager due to its low price at TJMaxx. This is a wonderful signature scent for someone in their teens/early 20s, but beyond that it is too juvenile. I hate to put an age on a fragrance, but I was once wearing this perfume (in my mid 20s), and I asked my friend if she likes it and she told me "it smells good but childish". Sorry, but I do not want anyone thinking I smell "childish" at the age of 25 no matter how good the perfume is. Age aside, I do enjoy this fragrance. It's not complex, which is why I don't love it, but it's an easy scent to wear during the daytime in the spring and summer. I do find that it's work/office friendly and not offensive. I think Hippie Chic is the perfect name for this fragrance because of how care-free it makes you feel. It smells fresh and juicy (coming from those delicious top note fruits), with a hint of some kind of flower. Although there are no citrus fruits in here, it does smell a bit sour to me (in a good way). I usually spray about 3-4 times in the morning, and by the end of the day, I can barely smell it on me. I don't hold this against the perfume because of how cheap it is, but it's something to consider. Even though this has been discontinued, you can still sometimes find it at TJMaxx. If you're looking for a dupe, Ralph by Ralph Lauren, which I have also owned, is a 90% match to this scent. All in all, I used to love this scent when I was younger, but I have unfortunately outgrown it. It's still a solid perfume and I would rate it a solid 5 or 6 out of 10! If you had asked me what I would rate it when I was 16, I would have given it at least an 8.5/10.

🌺🌊 Notes: - Despite the listed top notes, the actual opening is not as fruity as anticipated. I find the middle notes stand out more strongly on my skin throughout the wear. The Hibiscus, Lily of the Valley, and Star Jasmine are prominent and these are the notes that radiate out. I don't get much of the woodsy notes or musk. But it is not a floral bomb as it's still sweet and aquatic. There's a green quality and sharpness that I can't place. From the batch code, the version I have is from 2022 (the re-release) so it's possible some notes were changed from the original version due to ingredient availability or other reasons OR perhaps it has always smelled like this. Either way, it's more linear than anticipated. 🌺🌊 Comparisons: - It reminds me more of Ralph by Ralph Lauren than VS Sexy Little Things. Hippie Chich is more freshly sweet and aquatic (and not nearly as warm or sensual) as SLT was. Both Hippie Chic and Ralph are more the 2000s shampoo fragrances of that era with a fun, playful vibe than Sexy Little Things which was playful but sensual and flirty. 🌺🌊 Longevity & Sillage: - The perfume is surprisingly long-lasting for the cost. I sprayed once on my arm and it lasted for 6 HOURS with a small cloud that radiated around me. This will wear nicely in the summer around water whether it be a beach, pool, or after shower. 🙌

This is a pleasant hibiscus-dominant scent. The apple adds sweetness without being obviously or artificially “appley.” Despite some similarity notes-wise with Omnia Coral, the overall effect is quite different. It has a chlorine-like edge but without evoking water or becoming aquatic. Just a cheerful, young or young-at-heart fruity floral. My only real criticism is the longevity which is a matter of minutes rather than hours.

This smells like a less offensive version of Tree Hut's "Morroccan Rose" body scrub. It's an aquatic floral with a bit of something like candied watermelon.

Very generic for me. Just another fruity/floral that will be forgotten. A good perfume for someone under the age of 17. Smells like shampoo. 4.5/10
