Unicorn Fruit

I'm completely new to the brand of Truly, so I've never smelled the popular body butter that inspired this scent to compare them. But i do plan on trying it because Unicorn Fruit EDP is quite a delight. The name and bottle immediately drew me in. I rushed to my local Ulta to grab a bottle. They had just gotten this fragrance in and it wasn't on display yet. So the Ulta sales associate had to get me a bottle from the back. Since the bottle doesn't come in a box and they didn't receive a tester, she allowed me to smell the fragrance before buying. I immediately told her NO and almost walked out the Store because the initial spray was ridiculously sweet and syrupy, like a children's fruity cough syrup. She sniffed it herself and told me to give it another try, so i did. I was still smelling that horrible cough syrup, but it began to transform into this sweet and creamy cotton candy scent. As i was browsing around Ulta, repeatedly sniffing the tester strip, i began to grow more fond of this scent. No it wasn't anything unique, but i was experiencing the cotton candy scent I've always wanted from Pink Sugar. As longed as i've owned Pink Sugar, i could never get on board with why people loved it so much. To my nose, Pink Sugar was just a mild citrus fragrance covered in synthetic sweetness with no other distinguishable notes. Unicorn Fruit gave me a feeling of nostalgia, like when i was in middle school and my classmates wore cotton candy scented lip balm and body spray. What i mainly get from this scent is Cotton Candy backed with creamy Vanilla and a slight woody dry down. I get 4-5 hours on my skin with about 2 feet of projection. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. If Pink Sugar doesn't hit the spot for you or you just love sweet scents, definitely give Unicorn Fruit a try. Scent: 8/10 Packaging: 6/10 Performance: 7/10

Truly Unicorn Fruit has become one of my most loved fragrances ever. This to me being compared to Pink Sugar is a joke. I would put this in the same scent category as Pink Sugar, but this is its own much more beautiful and complex fragrance. This fragrance is fun, like pretty in pink animated characters such as Barbie, Hello Kitty, or Care Bears but with sophistication thanks to the white flowers, creamy matcha tea, and sandalwood notes. The Cotton Candy and Vanilla is more of a top note and a base note. There is a sweet plastic note that I pick up on that reminds me of Sanario stationery which makes this perfume very nostalgic for me. Pink Sugar to me, smells cheap, linear, and juvenile. Unicorn Fruit wears like a perfume, lasting 6- 8 hours when layered with the matching body butter. I like to wear this to birthday parties, fun kid-friendly events, and whenever I'm feeling girly, feminine, and wearing pink, frilly, dresses and outfits. I would compare this more to Betsey Johnson's signature fragrance than to Pink Sugar. I am also not a fan of Ariana Grande Cloud, so obviously that comparison in my opinion doesn't fit. Of all the fragrances in Ulta, this is definitely to me, one of the very best ones if you're a fruity floral gourmand lover especially.

I adore this perfume - from the fragrance itself to the cute bottle! It's incredibly sweet; the best way I can describe it is the sugar at the end of a bag of Sour Patch Kids. The first time I wore it to work multiple people complimented me on how good I smelled. They picked up on the vanilla immediately, whereas I don't smell it at all. After a friend told me my perfume smelled nice, I asked her if it smelled heavily of vanilla. She said she wouldn't have picked up on the vanilla if I hadn't mentioned it, and it predominantly smells like cotton candy to her. My boyfriend's reaction to this fragrance was priceless. First he told me that I "smell pretty". He then proceeded to tell me it smells like sugar, and when I asked him to elaborate he stated, "It smells cheap, like Axe, but not actually cheap." This was a blind buy and I'm more than glad I ordered it! If you like sweet scents, whether that be cotton candy, vanilla, etc. this is a relatively safe bet based on the many comments I've received.

Wow, I'm a bit surprised at the amount of hate this is getting. I'm a little suspicious that not everyone who rated it has actually smelled it and that they are basing their rating entirely off of the note listing and the fact that it shares common ground with Pink Sugar.....but moving on. This is NOT "identical" to Pink Sugar. It's a softer, sweeter, fruitier Pink Sugar. Despite what someone wrote earlier, I can assure you there is no fig or licorice in this! When sprayed, I smell sweet cotton candy and some sparkling citrus, along with a bit of the matcha. It dries down to a yummy cotton candy vanilla. Overall, I really like it a lot. It is sugary sweet without being heavy or giving me a headache. I do wish it was juust a little bit stronger. I have to spray quite a bit to get the amount of scent I'm looking for, but once I've done that it does last for a while and project moderately well. I can still smell it a bit on my skin at the end of the day.

i usually stay away from the truly brand since their products are very meh for the price, but when I tested this ... wowie. very sugary cotton candy that has a light soapiness. it was giving me nostalgia in the middle of an ulta lol. definitely a scent for a cute young girl, and it last for quite awhile which is rare for me. sprayed it twice on both my wrist at around 4pm and it's still noticeable 9 hours later. for all the comparisons to Pink Sugar, i wish i could have an opinion but i'm weirdly anosmic to PS 💔
