Unicorn Fruit

I'm completely new to the brand of Truly, so I've never smelled the popular body butter that inspired this scent to compare them. But i do plan on trying it because Unicorn Fruit EDP is quite a delight. The name and bottle immediately drew me in. I rushed to my local Ulta to grab a bottle. They had just gotten this fragrance in and it wasn't on display yet. So the Ulta sales associate had to get me a bottle from the back. Since the bottle doesn't come in a box and they didn't receive a tester, she allowed me to smell the fragrance before buying. I immediately told her NO and almost walked out the Store because the initial spray was ridiculously sweet and syrupy, like a children's fruity cough syrup. She sniffed it herself and told me to give it another try, so i did. I was still smelling that horrible cough syrup, but it began to transform into this sweet and creamy cotton candy scent. As i was browsing around Ulta, repeatedly sniffing the tester strip, i began to grow more fond of this scent. No it wasn't anything unique, but i was experiencing the cotton candy scent I've always wanted from Pink Sugar. As longed as i've owned Pink Sugar, i could never get on board with why people loved it so much. To my nose, Pink Sugar was just a mild citrus fragrance covered in synthetic sweetness with no other distinguishable notes. Unicorn Fruit gave me a feeling of nostalgia, like when i was in middle school and my classmates wore cotton candy scented lip balm and body spray. What i mainly get from this scent is Cotton Candy backed with creamy Vanilla and a slight woody dry down. I get 4-5 hours on my skin with about 2 feet of projection. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. If Pink Sugar doesn't hit the spot for you or you just love sweet scents, definitely give Unicorn Fruit a try. Scent: 8/10 Packaging: 6/10 Performance: 7/10

Truly Unicorn Fruit has become one of my most loved fragrances ever. This to me being compared to Pink Sugar is a joke. I would put this in the same scent category as Pink Sugar, but this is its own much more beautiful and complex fragrance. This fragrance is fun, like pretty in pink animated characters such as Barbie, Hello Kitty, or Care Bears but with sophistication thanks to the white flowers, creamy matcha tea, and sandalwood notes. The Cotton Candy and Vanilla is more of a top note and a base note. There is a sweet plastic note that I pick up on that reminds me of Sanario stationery which makes this perfume very nostalgic for me. Pink Sugar to me, smells cheap, linear, and juvenile. Unicorn Fruit wears like a perfume, lasting 6- 8 hours when layered with the matching body butter. I like to wear this to birthday parties, fun kid-friendly events, and whenever I'm feeling girly, feminine, and wearing pink, frilly, dresses and outfits. I would compare this more to Betsey Johnson's signature fragrance than to Pink Sugar. I am also not a fan of Ariana Grande Cloud, so obviously that comparison in my opinion doesn't fit. Of all the fragrances in Ulta, this is definitely to me, one of the very best ones if you're a fruity floral gourmand lover especially.

I adore this perfume - from the fragrance itself to the cute bottle! It's incredibly sweet; the best way I can describe it is the sugar at the end of a bag of Sour Patch Kids. The first time I wore it to work multiple people complimented me on how good I smelled. They picked up on the vanilla immediately, whereas I don't smell it at all. After a friend told me my perfume smelled nice, I asked her if it smelled heavily of vanilla. She said she wouldn't have picked up on the vanilla if I hadn't mentioned it, and it predominantly smells like cotton candy to her. My boyfriend's reaction to this fragrance was priceless. First he told me that I "smell pretty". He then proceeded to tell me it smells like sugar, and when I asked him to elaborate he stated, "It smells cheap, like Axe, but not actually cheap." This was a blind buy and I'm more than glad I ordered it! If you like sweet scents, whether that be cotton candy, vanilla, etc. this is a relatively safe bet based on the many comments I've received.

Wow, I'm a bit surprised at the amount of hate this is getting. I'm a little suspicious that not everyone who rated it has actually smelled it and that they are basing their rating entirely off of the note listing and the fact that it shares common ground with Pink Sugar.....but moving on. This is NOT "identical" to Pink Sugar. It's a softer, sweeter, fruitier Pink Sugar. Despite what someone wrote earlier, I can assure you there is no fig or licorice in this! When sprayed, I smell sweet cotton candy and some sparkling citrus, along with a bit of the matcha. It dries down to a yummy cotton candy vanilla. Overall, I really like it a lot. It is sugary sweet without being heavy or giving me a headache. I do wish it was juust a little bit stronger. I have to spray quite a bit to get the amount of scent I'm looking for, but once I've done that it does last for a while and project moderately well. I can still smell it a bit on my skin at the end of the day.

i usually stay away from the truly brand since their products are very meh for the price, but when I tested this ... wowie. very sugary cotton candy that has a light soapiness. it was giving me nostalgia in the middle of an ulta lol. definitely a scent for a cute young girl, and it last for quite awhile which is rare for me. sprayed it twice on both my wrist at around 4pm and it's still noticeable 9 hours later. for all the comparisons to Pink Sugar, i wish i could have an opinion but i'm weirdly anosmic to PS 💔

This is my teen girl holy grail. Pure sugary candy scent! This is what I wear when I want to smell like the girliest girl who ever girled. So syrupy I feel like if I sprayed it on my tongue it would taste like sugar! Big compliment getter too! As soon as I opened the bottle I immediately thought of Pink Sugar by Aquolina. The two are similar but Pink Sugar has the spicy licorice note while Unicorn Fruit is just sugary candy fun. Spray on your pillow at night to have Candyland theme dreams.

I'm in love. This fragrance evokes the essence of adolescence, reminiscent of cotton candy, berries, and vanilla blended together perfectly. If you want to feel like you're in a Lizzy Grant song, where you're carefree, young, with legs dangling out of the car window while enjoying a lollipop, this perfume is the perfect choice.

This is a mixture of the og Pink Sugar and PS Red Velvet. It’s the same cotton candy scent but with the added warmth the Red Velvet has and it’s not as sharp as either of those. It doesnt last as long as the og PS. You dont need this if you have PS & the flankers, but i love these scents so i will gladly have multiple

A candy, sugary dream! It’s in the same vein as Pink Sugar but this is MUCH better, imo. Where Pink Sugar has a cloying licorice note that I can’t stand on me, this is just pure delicious cotton candy! Even in all of its sweetness it manages to remain light and airy. Quickly become one of my favorite scents!

Sweet. Delicious. Mood lifting. Cotton candy and fruit. I layer it with (macerated) Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited and it's beyond amazing. I absolutely recommend trying that combo, it is out of this world.

Fresh and sweet. It lasts a good while. I tried some on at Ulta and can't stop sniffing my wrist. I'm thinking this is definitely something I'll need to go back for!

Sweet and sophisticated! Yummy with some uniqueness and still appropriate for many occasions, not overwhelmingly gourmand. Layers very nicely with other fragrances.

I’m a fan. It’s been said I have an odd nose, so I could be a broken record on this but it sort of reminds me of Japanese cherry blossom by bath and body works.

Is their coco cloud perfume gonna be on here??

This starts off really fruity and a bit sharp but as it goes on it smells like birthday cake to me. Like the kind with the colored sprinkles inside and on the frosting. I would buy this for my 6 year old niece. The funny thing I get a bit of a candied rose as well. Like if you took birthday cake and put some rose water in the batter and the frosting. One of the better cake gourmands I have smelled. I get vanilla pudding powder as well mixing with cotton candy. Not getting a Pink Sugar vibe like many here. My youngest sister wears that all the time so I'm very familiar with Pink Sugar. This doesn't have the licorice or raspberry notes at all. I might go back to Ulta and buy this as a Christmas gift for her and my niece. They are 1/2 off right now at Ulta. A meh for myself but a like for loved ones. I would not mind smelling this on others. It's just not for me. The funny thing is the more I smell this the more I like it. I bitch a lot about the gourmand trend on here but really I don't hate sweet perfumes. What I hate is the heavy ones. The overly sweet sticky ones. This has an airy quality that makes it much more appealing than most in this genre. A comforting scent. I'm buying a few bottles of this for Christmas 🎁 this is a gem for the genre. Update to a like. Edit; I found a $7 slightly used body spray version of this in TJ Maxx and bought it for myself. It will be fun to wear on Halloween. The body spray lasts like a perfume and are in glass not plastic. This is seriously one of the best gourmands I've tried and I've tried super expensive ones that were not 1/2 as good as Unicorn Fruit.

Okay, so I will be the first to admit I don't have the most.... "Refined" taste when it comes to fragrance... I like a sweet, comforting, crowd-pleasing, candy-like quality to my fragrance. I use fragrance mostly for a comfort factor, so those candy frags are the types that really do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I do like a nice vanilla, amber, cashmere/soft woods as much as the next person... But a beautiful pink perfume really just is my thing I guess. Give me a good everything shower with pink scented bath products/lotion, spray me some pink body mist, spray pink perfume and call me Princess Pink 💖 (Princess Peach's imaginary cousin that I just made up right now for this visual LOL). The pink body mist in this scenario would be Cheirosa '48! It's an easy reach, super fun and fruity. It has a refreshing quality with the guava and coconut water, rounded out with a vanilla warmth... I really love it! Now is it a masterpiece of craftsmanship in perfumery? Some may say yes, but most would probably say no - it's not very complex, and that's fine! A pink perfume I enjoy pairing with this body mist is Unicorn Fruit by Truly! She is such a cutie patootie candy fragrance if you've ever tried it. Layering really creates the color HOT PINK in the best most fun, fruity, candy way with a rounded creaminess.

I picked this up in store because the bottle was just about the cutest thing ever. It's bright pink, dainty, simple, and as a bauble alone I wanted to bring it home. It looks absolutely magical. The fragrance pulls as predominantly vanilla on me, and it is a very sweet vanilla. The underlying base includes a warm, lightly woody scent which could be sandalwood, but it's so very sweet that it's difficult to discern. This tames the foodiness of sweet vanilla from veering into straight up cupcake territory, but you wouldn't be faulted for making that comparison with a quick whiff. Notes of fruity candy and bright sugar play in the middle ground, giving it a childlike quality. Occasionally, faint top notes of white floral peek through, but you really have to be paying attention to notice. Throw is good, longevity lasts several hours before it fades to a warm, sweet glow that stays close to the skin. It is nostalgic, sweet, playful, and gourmand. This is not identical to Pink Sugar to the discerning nose, but if you are looking for a cruelty free alternative to it, you will probably enjoy this. There is, however, a sort of gently juvenile, throwback scent to this fragrance and I find it more enjoyable than cloying. However, if you hate smelling like a cupcake, you might want to pass.

Ok, I have been wearing this a lot and I “Truly” do love it 🙃 I can’t say much that hasn’t already been said, you know. Very close resemblance to pink sugar...BUT, I will say in this I pick up more of the citrus and more of the matcha. Like a reviewer below said it really does have that same note as kilian Princess. Truly really is a bit less heavier than pink sugar, and no burnt sugar or licorice smell to be found. It’s also not super sharp when you first spray it like pink sugar is. Unicorn fruit I feel is more rounded and softer, while still holding that intense sweet sugary cotton candy that we all love. It’s a great scent but nothing at all unique.

I’ve never smelled Aqualina’s Pink Sugar so I can’t compare the 2 or say wether it’s a dupe or not. But I can say that it’s a sickly girly sweet scent and it reminds me ALOT of those rock candy sticks. I find it slightly similar to Ralph Lauren’s Beyond Romance and also Marc Jacobs’ Daisy Love Eau So Sweet which the latter is supper sickly sweet just like this one. Like make your teeth hurt sweet. The only thing I can really complain about with this fragrance was the lack of packaging. I imagine there was lots of damages during shipping without a box. Anyway, this perfume is ok it’s just very very sweet if you like that kinda thing,

It may be a cotton candy centered fragrance like Pink Sugar, however they don’t t smell a like. It’s a much more rounded and blended scent, not as one dimensional. It also projects more floral and fruit than Pink Sugar. Unicorn Fruit also is better quality, it is not as artificial smelling as Pink Sugar. As for the comparison to Delicious Cotton Candy. There is no comparison. DCC is very bad, just bad. DCC smells of a plastic doll, and very low quality ingredients. DCC it makes me shiver its just so bad. Back to Unicorn Fruit, it’s a light and delightful scent. If you want to smell of yummy sweetness, it’s for you.

I could see how this can be compared to Pink Sugar... the drydown especially is similar. And while I love my Pink Sugar, this is way better, in my opinion. I definitely get citrus, berries, and matcha in the opening. I love the smell of matcha so I was pleased I could pick up on that note. The drydown is definitely vanilla cotton candy, but in a softer, less synthetic way than Pink Sugar. Longevity isn't as good as Pink Sugar but it's still not bad, and for the price, I'm not mad at all.

Lightweight fruity floral that comes off as a 'lotion' smell. Normally this genre gets a hard pass from me but my inner tween loves Unicorn Fruit. The purchase has been made! This is NOT anywhere in the same realm as the gag inducing Pink Sugar.

LOL. This is pink sugars paternal twin sister. Also less projection and longevity than pink sugar but a little sweeter. Overall this is pink sugar no one would guess differently had they smelt this on you and own pink sugar themselves

I feel it is somewhat juvenile for me with the cotton candy notes, but after dry down I really enjoy the vanilla scent that lingers. I feel this is definitely geared toward the younger crowd, but enjoy whatever you enjoy!

It’s a slightly better version of Pink Sugar. No licorice note, just sugar, cotton candy. It’s nice, but the sillage is pretty weak. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by Pink Sugar, but I don’t care to spend $60 for 50ml of this.

On me it’s a burnt sugar sweet. I’ve the cotton candy and that’s about it and maybe a hint of vanilla. It’s probably a good gym scent that’s about it. Bit overpriced for the bottle size and kinda leaves me feeling meh.

Identical to Pink Sugar; nothing unique or special. I still enjoy the scent, but I sold my Pink Sugar fragrances when I received this since they're basically one and the same.

Sheeeesh....I disagree super hard with people about this smelling like Pink Sugar! I mean, they're both sweet and pink, but I think this smells different. Pink Sugar has almost a citrusy tone and smells more like true carnival/fair cotton candy. There's a freshness to it. But UF smells like it has denser fruits, more syrupy tones and it's almost like a drink that's intended to smell like cotton candy, as opposed to the real thing. This has more of a vanilla undertone too, and a jammy rose, although the florals aren't that noticeable, they're largely drowned out by the gourmond quality. Both are worth getting if you're into this sort of thing, but I don't think they're redundant whatsoever, in fact, my mind didn't leap to PS at all when I smelled this, I actually thought it smelled more like a Tree Hut type of gourmond, or some rich, vanillic sort of body wash. It's not at all sophisticated, but it's fun and fantastical, fitting precisely with it's title!

It smells like the opening of Pink sugar from opening to dry down, minus the liquorice smell, and this one is sweeter and slightly fruitier. I prefer it. The difference is in the drydown where PS smells like vanilla. Unicorn Fruit is veeery sweet. It takes a couple of hours for it to turn into a sweeter strawberry cotton candy, at that point I really really like it. Good longevity. I’m keeping it in my collection. It’s the perfect sweet scent without anything else added to it. And it’s feminine. For me, it definitely beats cloud when it comes to my easy reach. Get it, I promise! It’s the cutest pink perfume, sweet cotton candy a bit fruity. I’m so glad I purchased it.

To me this is mainly sweet & screechy cotton candy opening followed by a creamy, beautiful matcha note on the dry down. The other specific notes don't really come into play for me. I absolutely understand & agree with the Pink Sugar comparisons, but I love the matcha component overall. Can't wait to try more fragrances with matcha now!

This is ok, very simple. It lasts faintly on skin and clothes for a few hours. A million times better performance than vanilla baby, but I wouldn’t pay full price for it - get it from one of trulys TikTok lives for $17 if you want to buy it. Wouldn’t repurchase

Fruity and airy cotton candy like if the color pink had a smell. I tested this heavily on one wrist at Ulta and it was gone within 30 minutes. Not worth the price for my standards even though sometimes I would love to smell like this.

It's ok does smell a bit similar to pink sugar but a bit too bland for my liking not sweet enough

I had wanted to smell this perfume for months. It kept popping up online and unfortunately isn't sold anywhere near me and this wasn't one I was willing to blind buy. Fortunately, (or unfortunately) my little sister actually bought it and I was able to try it out. Basically, to sum it up, I was so disappointed. On the first spray, this smells almost exactly like Pink Sugar, the biggest difference to me being more licorice and I did not pick up hardly any fruit at all. The dry down was slightly different, but it was such a subtle difference that if you like this perfume, you might as well just buy Pink Sugar at Walgreens for $20 and save some money. As far as strength and how it lasts, I forgot I even had it on, so pretty subtle. I do like the bottle and the pink, but that's pretty much all I liked about this perfume.

I love sweet. One of my favorite scents in the world is a bag of marshmallows, but this? No. I wanted a decadent once in a while sugary sweet perfume to wear when I'm feeling youthful and poppy. This had a powdery, chemical scent to it I couldn't get past. I used 1/5 of the bottle, my worst blind buy to date. No sophistication, all chemical, sugar blasted emptiness.

Fragrance is subjective of course, but I don’t smell the similarities between this one and LDBS at all. This reminds me more of LVEB, Flowerbomb, and Mon Guerlain than LDBS or Princess. This is very powdery to me and made me sneeze quite a bit. Nowhere near the sweetness I expected based on the reviews.

This is very similar to pink sugar ..the opening is powdery and sweet and almost cloying. The dry down is much more pleasant but it definitely isn’t what i expected. I returned this to ulta. If you like pink sugar then I’m sure you’d like this, but unfortunately this just became nauseating to me

This reminds me of gas station bathroom deodorizer. It’s a No for me.

This was painfully cloying and had a sweet/sharp synthetic edge that made this a total scrubber for me. It really hangs onto your clothes longer than your skin, but that was a mercy for me. If you're in any way sensitive to fragrance, skip this one. It's migraine-inducing and a beast of a projection artist.

For me, it is a super sweet, headache inducing fragrance. If you're not a fan of scents like pink sugar, then avoid! If you love pink sugar, you'll probably love this, too. It definitely has staying power, and projects nicely. It just wasn't for me.

People are comparing this to Pink Sugar saying they're exactly the same...I beg to differ. I have tried to love Pink Sugar over and over again because in theory all the notes sound pleasant. This is far nicer to my nose as a gourmand lover. I cannot stand the awful licorice, fig leave notes in Pink Sugar...ugh. This smells similar but has a slightly more fruity focus to me without the god awful old lady powder and licorice that Pink Sugar has. This is cotton candy, rose, maté musk, gentle berries...just much better in my opinion. The rose gives it a fresher feel...just more sophisticated. I like to layer this with the body butter. Lolita Lempicka has the same disgusting licorice stink opening at Pink Sugar, that literally never goes away. THIS is far sweeter as in , notes that make sense and actually emphasize "sweet cotton candy cupcake" with floral fruity nuances.

This is less like Og pink sugar, and more like the flankers- Like if you mixed red velvet and berry blast together as they don’t have that burnt sugar and licorice notes ppl talk about disliking. It had decent projection a couple hours after I sprayed inside my elbow, the guy at grocery checkout was like “what do you have on? What am I smelling?” And I could smell it for around 4 hours with one spray on clothes. It’s nice fluffy candy sweet w some slight fruitiness in the top notes and slightly caramel vanilla. I think it could use a little more fruitiness like fruity candy note similar to berry blast to match the lotion but it’s pretty darn close. I sampled at ulta but won’t be buying as I got pink sugar flankers instead. My 2 cents!

If you go to Ulta, there isn't a tester of this. However, this doesn't come in a box, so you can take the cap off and get a good idea of the scent. I don't encourage spraying it unless you plan to buy it. I've never actually worn pink sugar, so please keep that in mind, but to me, the initial spray always just smelled sweet while unicorn fruit smelled like actual cotton candy immediately. As I said, I'm not very familiar with pink sugar, so the dry down could become more cotton candy-like for all I know. The moral of the story is I do notice a slight difference between the opening of the two fragrances. I don't find the difference between the two drastic enough to justify spending an extra $30, though.

If kilian princess , love don’t be shy and pink sugar had a baby, this is it right here. Literally. A perfect blend of all three. When I fist smelled it without seeing the notes I was getting matcha and marshmallows and then it changed to an orange blossom but not heavy, and then i smelled pink sugar. I was in shock when I saw matcha as a note since I picked up on it so fast. If you like any or all of those three fragrances this is a dream. Also lasts very long on my skin and clothes. I got a good 6 hours with good projection
