Musc Noir Perfume Enhancer

I wasn’t expecting anything from this scent, because it’s a perfume enhancer, but this is sooo beautiful. Soft and powdery scent with clean musks and amazing iris. It’s nice on its own and quite radiant. I also feel tender herbal or even “steamed” notes from lavender or ambrette seeds, which are not listed. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

I bought this because I wanted a "perfume enhancer" for other perfumes from this line. This is designed to be exactly that. Initially I wasn't planning to wear it on its own. Well, sadly, I did not notice any "enhancement" from this - it did not improve the sillage or longevity of, for example, Aperitif Milanese Porta Nuova. Then I tried to wear it on its own and I actually liked it. It's one of those "non-perfume perfumes". To my nose it does not smell like JHAG but it smells somewhat similar to Escentic02 (not to be confused with Molecule 02) but only like 60% similar. If I smell it in the sillage it smells quite nice like fresh laundry type musk. Directly on skin - like a faint laundry detergent at first. That is until I go outside in summer or start exercising - then my skin warms up and this perfume turns into something sweeter and more like Escentric02 (but still not quite the same), very enjoyable. I think I will be wearing it on its own for now. The longevity is amazing btw, much much better than those "regular" perfumes in this Trussardi line.

I use it as a layer for some of my other perfumes. Currently trying it with Red tobacco by Mancera and I'm pleasantly surprised. On its own its rather weak with poor sillage, moderate longevity. Blends well with the scent of my skin. Had it as a freebie when I purchased The street artists of Isola. Can't complain, I would have bought the other one anyway 🤷🏻♂️ Can't say go for it at that price tho.. Like, there just isn't anything about this product that warrants purchase other than collecting the bottle 🤣

To love and appreciate this perfume, you need be a fan of Iris, especially those type of Iris that having lipsticky-vibe. On my skin, this perfume doesn't evolve much, so what I smell is really all about lipsticky Iris and a faint hint of Cedar that is surrounded by Musk. Musk in this perfume is pretty much leaning towards clean side, which makes it very elegant and feminine, even though it is marketed as Unisex. I really wanted to love this fragrance since I have been exploring a good Woody Musk perfume, but unfortunately this is not what I expected. If it was not having that listicky Iris, then it probably could have earned a strong 'Like' from me. However, all I can conclude on this perfume after testing on my skin for 2 weeks, it's all about Iris. Another downside of this perfume is that it's super soft and short-lived, even though the concentrate is EDP. I have tested other sisters under Trussardi's La Vie Di Milano collection, but this is the softest among all 6 of them; however, be aware that other sisters are also very shy and not really bold enough. They are soft and short-lived too, which make me suspect that quality control on the juice itself was failed, or maybe the concept design of this La Vie Milano line is meant to be a soft, daily perfume that you can enjoy casually during day time. However, due to the price point of this collection leaning on the expensive side, possibly my 2nd assumption will not be the case. Such a shame on Trussardi, since I have experienced great perfumes from the house before, but unfortunately, not this one.

An Infusion-style iris in the higher octaves, a familiar note of the ambroxan/cetalox family quite expectedly in the middle, and a vivid and warm musk with a human feel, keeping the whole construction. That musk is the best part of the fragrance, but paradoxically disappears first. Or is it my nose? I suspect it just might be. Anyway, while the other components are quite well known as the state-of-the-art "enhancers" of modern perfumery, that musky note has an almost vintage feel to it and I wish it stayed longer than the pale woody iris glow, so familiar. As Le Vie di Milano is all about the "collect them all" approach, the inclusion of a special joker card like this is a nice marketing touch, upcycling a couple of old ideas. That of Geza Schoen and the Escentric line - make that nameless but painfully familiar component the star of the show; and the idea of layering fragrances, which some people practice anyway without the need of a guidance. But for the others, who looked at layering as some kind of a sacrilege, there's a official green light now that might be the gate to a whole new universe. Anyway, then it came to me: iris note per se is THE natural predecessor of all "enhancers" in perfumery. It's neutral enough, it transfer its ethereal qualities to the notes it is linked to, creating a glow over the whole fragrance. As I already said, it is mostly the high-pitched sharp top-notes of iris in this particular case; all earthy/buttery facets are missing: still iris, but much easier to sprinkle over virtually anything and refine/stabilize it.
