Scent of Gold

I'm wearing this for the 2nd (3rd?) time today, having spritzed it last night before bed (about nine hours ago); I can still smell it on my arms, which surprises me, as my initial feelings were that SoG is quite a soft perfume, despite a number of people suggesting the sillage is heavy or enormous. I don't experience it like this at all. On first spraying, I get a huge fruity burst; reviewer milancelisac (below) has referenced a ripe mango, which I echo - but on me, this rapidly turns to a rich, sweet prune (i.e. dried plum). I think the tobacco note enhances the feeling of richness and sweetness of the fruit and - on far dry down - I am picking up on a slightly earthy patchouli. I bought this blind (naturally!) for a song, and liked it initially - however, that has turned into a love overnight. I wouldn't recommend blind buying this - or any other perfume - but this is a hidden gem. I honestly can't think of anything similar to Scent of Gold (I haven't tested Paul Emilien Premiere Danse, which has been added to the "reminds me of" list above).

Bu markayı daha çok "eski" havasını taşıyan ürünleri ile biliyordum. Kotu diyemeyeceğim parfümler bunlar. Ancak yeni ürünleri ile markayı başka bir noktaya taşıma çabası içinde oldukları görünüyor. Daha güçlü, daha keyifli kokular geliyor. Bu ise yeniler arasında en iyilerden. Tütün çok sevdiğim bir nota ve girdiği her harman içinde harika bir etki bıraktığını düşünürüm. Burada aslında ana karakter tutun ancak bir TV gibi tatlı değil. Bunu iyi anlamda söylüyorum. Ilk 5-10 dakika içinde hafif ekşi bir hava var ama hemen kayboluyor. Buna sanırım erik neden oluyor. Tarçın var ama baskın değil. Bu parfüme yumuşak havasını veriyor. Yarım saat sonra ise tütün kurumuş bir hale geliyor ve daha keyif verir bir hal alıyor. Erkeklere daha uygun olduğunu düşünüyorum. Serin havalarda 30 yaş üstü için harika bir tercih olacaktır.

Woow woow wooow 10/10 gorgeous stuff I was looking for a fragrance that could fill the TF BO parfum hole in my extensive collection and this is just it.I was going to buy BO Parfum however I splashed on various designer and niche scents so reigned it in.I didn't want a cheap clone or copy I wanted a legitimate alternative and this is that to the extreme Honesty if this was bottled in a TF bottled and sold a 3X the price no one would bat an eye.So what does it smell like it smells rich deep resinous and smokey with a big dose of fruity dense plum.This could be a hybrid of BO and Plum Japoinase its that good and it has good staying power.For £45 pounds it's a no brainer this is truly the scent of Gold so happy I took the plunge this is breathtaking.

Golly...this is fantastic! Strong plum in the opening, but not sweet fruity plum. More.. prune than plum. A deep rich prune. As it warms on my skin, I smell the cinnamon and tobacco, a hint of powder... and patchouli. It is very unique to my nose, and the combination of the cinnamon and prune almost smells a little... oudy. I have not smelled anything else like it. The ingredients are very well amalgamated, so that the scent aura around me is just this whimsical, fruity and powdery tobacco. A really fantastic fragrance. Love it.

A pretty decent tobacco based perfume, it exceeded my expectations in terms of quality of the ingredients and longevity/sillage. It is a good thing that is not too sweet and i think it's leaning more on the masculine side about 65%, maybe 70% but that's my opinion. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a mid sweet tobacco perfume. More fit for winter, fall, and night. My rating for this would be 3.8 out of 5 stars.

The tobacco in this beauty reminds me of Chergui during the first stages although it does not have that smouldering dryness, the plum makes it juicier. It is lovely, warm and seductive, perfectly unisex, appropiate for colder season. Big like🙂.

I’ve just bought it! To my nose the strongest note is mango, even though it’s not listed. But I cannot shake off that sensation of smelling the skin of a ripe mango! De-li-ci-ous! Plus it’s long lasting, so there’s also that!

a fantastic perfume, lasts 24 hours, the beginning is a bit dirtier as the other sweet tobacco fragrances so a bit more intresting as well, thy drydown is similar to guerlain heriage for me

smooth!!! very well blended, mid-weight scent... it's a velvety rendition of mostly tobacco, vanilla and labdanum, with hints of cinnamon...to me the plum note is almost non-existent...I know something else is there coz the aformentioned notes alone would be come together resulting in a sweeter frag...I think the plum note is kind of made up, it's maybe a hint of leather there which gives this a little edge. Anyhow, if anyone's looking for a plum-dominant frag, I'd advise against blind-buying this. Also some reviewers marked this as similar to Black Orchid, which is a very very distant relative (if a relative at all). There may be something that is reminiscent of 'dried fruits' or raisins but in my book that's more of an aspect of the sweet tobacco here. Well, as mentioned before, this baby is a middle-weight one, and it's more of a come-hither scent than an in-the-face 'I am wearing sweet-tobacco frag'. The tobacco here is blended in perfectly, so there are no rough edges, and for this reason, I'd say it's more on the feminine side. While it's not particularly fruity, it's a tad sweeter than most unisex frags but a gender-confident man could pull this off, most certainly :)

Very interesting! First impression is a strong like. The opening is equally bergamot and prunol- which is a note from the fantastic Ambre eccentrico. It clashes with the bergamot to my nose. The bergamot wants SOG to smell fresh but the cinnamon and prunol want this to be Gourmand. The opening isn’t my favorite then all of a sudden a wave of violets enters! It becomes quite floral- Violet similar to TF Violet blonde with Jasmine and some woody/leathery earthy nuances coming from the base. Will update with later impressions.

Very strong intense enough sweet unisex woody oriental perfume. Patchouli, cinamon, vanilla, dried plume notes make it very close to Tom Ford Black Orchid, but tobacco and labdanum tones give for it distinctive sharpness...big longevity and fine italian quality ❣

To me this is a classic fougere shaving cream barbershop smell combined with dark, animalic, almost skanky notes and some green resonance. As if you combine Black Phantom with Lalique Pour Homme. Yet together, it creates something appealing.

very nice scent for winter time. longetivity, sillage etc were fantastic but the alcohol that they used was a bit irritant for my skin. especially when i applied to my neck. overall 7/10 for its price and performance.

Love at 1st, but then something goes a bit amiss on my clothes. Still like it but the 1st spray is the deepest. How did that song go?

A very grandma kind of scent in my opinion. Maybe it's because of the tobacco notes in it. My expectations about this one were extremely high, considering the reviews, and I couldn't wait to test it out, but it's not really my cup of tea. If you don't like old-timer strong fragrances that remind you of an elegant old lady, I wouldn't recommend this one. The sillage and longevity are enormous, but the scent itself is not playful, mysterious, nor original. It's a big dejavu of a fragrance, everything that you've already smelled a million times before.

I tried this in Rome the other day and was quite disappointed. Based on the notes alone I thought I would love it and sprayed it on without hesitation, but it didn't work for me. The first few minutes were okay: a sort of warm ambery-woody floral. However, the longer it sat on my skin the more grating and scratchy it became, with the dominant note hovering somewhere between oud and harsh wood. I didn't get any plum at all, and I was looking for it. After several hours of being annoyed by the whiffs coming off my wrist I had to wash it off. For me, this was an itchy jumper of a perfume. Unisex, if not leaning masculine.

I have black orchid perfume, what I feel is there is a slight difference in the opening with a fresh fruity taste. good juice quality for a designer perfume. I bought this perfume because I got a fairly cheap price and it's cheaper than Valentino Dona Noir, which smells the same as Black Orchid TF. not many people talk about this perfume on youtube. for me this is a hidden gem for those of you who like tf black orchid.

Tested this at a Duty Free in Ethiopia. It’s lovely and feels opulent for a designer scent. I think Trussardi has done something lovely with this entire line of niche-like offerings, which also includes Amber Oud & The Black Rose. I ended up purchasing Amber Oud since I found it a bit more masculine than this one. Both are pretty unisex though. Highly recommend trying this line by Trussardi!

• Hm... got this frag in a sample as a present for buying fragrances. never would choose it to myself. 😉 • violet, jasmine... plums... I don't know... • I'd say it reminds some vintage fragrances or old time ladies scent...something kind a Givenchy Amarige, that sweetness and scent is too powerfull!!!

This definitely goes on my test list, it sounds really interesting!
