Trussardi Ruby Red

Another great scent by the Italian brand. It is very tradicional parfumery where a scent is to be a novelty out of the parts. It is yet another beauty from this line. Already the Jasmin one was very good and I think I loved the first one too. What I can detect is the vanilla-orchid as the center of the scent. Joining are the red fruits. There is the zing courtesy of ginger but it's soft and in the background and warmth courtesy of ylang-ylang. It is very feminine, soft and bright thanks to the red fruits. Sophisticated I think it's a year-rounder. Works for me during summer, but the warmth makes it versatile. Just a pretty scent - the parts are playing together to create a new quality that makes me feel good. As it shoud be. I feel like a doll wearing it. It lasts very well, always subtle but detectable and shines its many facets.

Just got a sample of this, and I really enjoy it. Ruby Red reminds me of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, which I find beautiful but way too strong for my nose, to the point it triggers my migraines. I wouldn’t call RR an accurate dupe for Black Orchid, because it’s much lighter and less nuanced. But it I do get similar vibe, especially in the beginning, and taking into account the price difference and much better wearability for migraine patients like me, I’d recommend to get a sample of RR if you like BO.

I love it! It smells mainly of red fruits with sparkling bergamot and spices softened with ambery notes which make it pleasant and interesting. To me this fragrance represents subtle elegance, it's not overbearing and the color of the bottle suits it just right. In the drydown, the scent becomes somewhat sharper and shows similarities with my beloved AB+- Cashmere (Uer me) and Gucci Guilty absolute, maintaining the specific sophistication, characteristic of this line of Trussardi perfumes.

As always, Trussardi never fails, It's elegant, youthtul, versatile, can be worn daily or in the evenings. But of course as all Trussardi perfumes, doesn't last long.

This is simple, sweet, berries fruity dominating perfume that will make you smell nice without making too much of an effort to stand out in a crowd. I was not really expecting much and it smells exactly like what I imagined it to be. The patchouli is not heavy but I am sure it is doing its work to give the perfume some depth and strength. The ginger, vanilla orchid, ylang ylang and bergamot are not so prominent but they are very good support to the berries that are the ones more noticeable on my skin. Longevity and sillage are good and I find it very easy to layer with other perfumes that are one dimensional to give them more character. Pretty bottle design so if you can get it at a decent price and want something easy breezy to wear anytime, go for it. It is not a unique scent and I am certain I have some other Middle Eastern perfumes with a similar vibe but I like it for what it brings to the table hence why I didn’t give it a love thumbs 👍🏽.

This was an interesting one for me. I sampled this from a travel spray that I received as a freebie with another purchase. Normally I shy away from chypres as they contain patchouli which is problematic for me but, as this was before me, I felt duty-bound to try it, So I actually really liked the opening. The red fruits in this scent are very pronounced at the beginning and well into the drydown. I found that accord very pleasing. The tartness really drew me into the scent. I found myself sniffing my arm at frequent intervals so I could enjoy that note more deeply. There was a note in the opening that I didn't like though. It smelled strange and discordant with the other top notes. Maybe it was the ginger? In any case it disappeared after 15 minutes or so so I was able to continue enjoying the scent. Unfortunately, albeit predictably, the patchouli did eventually come out to annoy me and then it was quite strong and lingered even after I had showered. So ultimately this scent is not for me. Interestingly though, I didn't find the synthetic Orcanox note objectionable. These notes are often iffy for me. For example, I've learned to avoid anything with Clearwood in it and if I see Akigalawood in a scent pyramid I know to avoid it like the plague. So all in all this scent was an experience for me. If you tolerate a strong patchouli (it was herbally in here, not chocolaty) and enjoy some tartness then give this a try. This may be a fruitchouli but it's not overly sweet at all, and has some interesting facets to it.

Ruby Red is reminiscent of many other feminine fragrances from the last decade. It's nice, but a bit faceless. It's elegant, but also too proper and too pleasant. Elegant, refined and brave is the choice of words they are representing this perfume with, but I don't see them being very suitable. I'd say more like office-friendly day-dreaming out of boredom. Mostly I get berries, vanilla, sandalwood and hints of patchouli. The longevity and silage aren't that great as well.

It's very similar to Black Orchid. I expected red berries and orchid, but got patchouli and mushrooms (truffles, maybe). Longevity and sillage is moderate to low. I think, 2-3 hours, even on clothes. I think I also smell ginger and bergamot. But for me, it's a mystery: where are those red berries that some people smell? This scent is for special occasion and mood. But I still want to add real berries claimed!

The fragrance is derived from the first one pink. Basically, it's pretty much the same thing, with just less leather vibes and spices added. If you already have the pink version, you don't need this one. it's a spicier pink..

Smells like the general smell of a perfume store, I did not find anything special or attractive in this smell.

While I appreciated the original Pink version of this, Ruby Red appeared to be something totally weird and unpleasant Has nothing to do with Black Orchid actually UPD: if only initial spray on the paper

Yes, this is reminiscing of Black Orchid... Love both, this one is less dense/pungent and more of an uplifted version. Ruby red is more effervescent but not watery, more like its sitting on cold furr (maybe the orcanox note)... Still, it has that velvety sweet sap grounded by earthy fumes that is so familiar with the Black Orchid profile. If you love Black Orchid by Tom Ford and have been looking for a more uplifting version for warmer months, go ahead with this one. It can be an all year round perfume if you love dense florals or other pungent scents, but to me this scent profile suits my olfact more on cooler days.

A scent profile from Y2K - not much newness or any originality in the interpretation. Fruitchouli. Mostly red berries and patchouli, which goes close to border of dirtiness, but is kept away by soapy powder (orcanox? Or that woody cinnamon and dry ginger with vanilla?). That soapiness for me seems the best part of Trussardi Ruby Red, as it feels quite sophisticated, but then again smelt-before, safe and boring.
