Walking in Porta Venezia

Great quick description @JuloK...candied aromatic. You almost think there is ginger as a top note but I'm thinking I'm just picking up the Anise and lemon put together. The balsam fur is very light, but I'm loving that I'm picking up the vanilla. I really like this one. It's unique, airy and sweet....perfect for the summer! I have been eyeballing this fragrance for a while because it was likened to Diptique's Lilyphea which is one of my favorite fragrances. It doesn't smell like lilyphea but I have a feeling it would blend perfectly with it. All in all, I'm thrilled with my purchase, especially because I paid $40.

It was the first perfume I smelled in a perfumery from the Le Vie Di Milano Collection series and I said WOW, I have to have it. A few minutes later I took out my phone and ordered a bottle. It is good to search and buy it online at a more OK price because in mall perfumeries the price can exceed 200 EUR but online you can find it for 50 EUR. The others in this series personally did not convince me although each one has something special and they are not trivial. My advice is to try them first and then order.

I haven't tried them side-by-side, but, on me, Walking in Porta Venezia wears like a sweeter version of (the sadly discontinued) L'Eau Bleue d'Issey...not that Walking in Porta Venezia is particularly sweet by today's standards. It projects less than L'Eau Bleue d'Issey and is more unisex. Walking in Porta Venezia reminds me of a cup of spiced tea. A lovely, calming fragrance. Not sure I'd pay full retail, but I found a tester for under $50. And at that price it's a total steal.

Unique! To me it smells exactly like a milk oolong tea leaves straight out of a handmade cardboard packaging. Although in a warmer environment it opens loudly with the notes of dry thyme and spearmint (I get the toothpaste comparison) — pleasing nonetheless. In the drydown patchouli becomes more prominent giving this perfume its gothic wet tobacco-like aura (but just a little, and I still detect the overall vibe of an herbal tea). Absolutely magical.

The opening on my skin is like a spiced alcoholic lemonade or sugary lemon candy after some time it turns into beautiful aromatic tea/herbal cocktail, it becomes slightly bitter and a little less sweet. Anise is definitely a star here along with something that smells like licorice and THE rich patchouli. after a good 2 hours on me it smells like strong earl gray tea. I might get a full bottle after I finish my decant😻

A remarkably refined aromatic composition. The herbal notes remain present throughout—lively and full of freshness in the opening, gently touched with floral sweetness, and gradually settling into a drier base. Exquisitely crafted to transcend any associations with masculine or medicinal accords. Gracefully feminine and quietly enchanting.

Starts similar to I Vicoli Via Fiori Chiari from the same line: fresh herbs and anise. Plus, lots of citruses and green notes. Super refreshing. Love it, but since I have I Vicoli Via Fiori Chiari, I see no point in buying it. However, I love that it smells like mohito or some other summery cocktail. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Smells like mint tea in bags.Very pleasant and simple at same time.

I had never heard of Trussardi and this fragrance is serving as my introduction to the house. Bought on Joma for $80, batch code shows it's from the launch year. I don't see how this could be unisex, it's what I consider the epitome of masculine. The anise, black pepper, and heavy geranium make it almost identical to Old Spices after shave from the early 90's. This however is a positive for me. The absinthe and balsam fir blend so well with the old spice notes that it's super reminiscent of picking out a Christmas tree with your grandfather. We're in the middle of an insane heatwave right now, but it's holding up beautifully and I can't wait to see how this performs in the colder months.

Sticky-sweet mint candy. Although there is no mint in the official description- mint is what I am getting. It is certainly less minty than Geranium pour Monsieur, which I adore, and brighter than licorice in Maack's Cornucopia. I could not wear it during colder months- it gave up something synthetic and plastic. However, it is magnificent in the early summer.

Very unique scent. It’s like walking into a fancy tea shop. Performance is ok, quality is really good. It has potential of being a signature scent because of its unique smell, but you really need to love that “zen” vibe. Not a blind buy.

Opening smells like Orbit chewing gum. The dry-down is even weirder, kind of smells like toothpaste. Not wearable imo.

Smells just like a toothpaste to me

Starts like a magical mouthwash from a fairy tale; anisic tooth powder, decorated with pine and bitter-green artemisia. I'm reminded of absinthe and the theatrical joy of drinking Italian aperitivo: bitter, but radiating happiness. The notes overlap: anise is not just anise, pine is like no other aftershave pine, artemisia/wormwood - sweet, a bit overburned. Some woodsy vanilla comes then . Later on, a candied violet joins the party, along with spiceslike nutmeg, a different angle on the anisic quality. Soft, balsamic black pepper. A soapy dry down. As if you washed yourself with a spicy-floral soap, the Italian brand Florinda comes to mind. A faint smell of some exciting soap. It's quite different from beginning to end, and there are times when I wish I could freeze a particular moment of its evolution. But it goes on and on, like a slideshow of visibly different compositions, a showcase of different ideas one after another. And I guess a complicated title like this justifies the theatrical journey, a glossy version of everyday life in Milan, as in a Dolce & Gabbana photoshoot for Vogue. A burst of colors from a partiular palette; still, for some reason, leaves me quite unimpressed, as if a promise was given but unfulfilled.

I tryed this one and it was an intresting experience. The first thought was: soft minty, sweet bubblegum. (Kinda understand the licorice mentiond, but not exactly on me. And I kinda understand the thoothpasta vibe as well. :D) But on it's own way it was a good fragrance. Special and intresting. It has a sweetness but also a little minty and fresh side. Try it on your skin! I personaly don't like menthol and sweetness together but maybe on someone else it will be a great scent.

The "Le Vie Di Milano" collection features a range of interesting scents. However, the main drawback is their simplicity in composition, which often reminds us of pleasant-smelling items we use daily. This particular scent could easily be another product in the Marvis toothpaste collection . It has a fresh, sappy, terpenic, menthol, and spicy aroma that creates a good vibe.

Pretty unique and niche one. Very aromatic opening with basil, lemon and something peppery. I do detect some booziness - obviously the anise. It dries down to the perfect photorealistic geranium /mushkato scent with some boozy sweets. Reminds me of Via Fiori Chiari, but more wearable and not that loud.

My kid found this in Sephora and told me it smelled just like Throat Coat sore throat tea and she is spot on. She was picking out the licorice note. It’s pleasantly bright and herbaceous like an old timey apothecary might smell like.

This is an interesting one, though on me it’s a bit sweeter than I can stand. But definitely unexpected composition from a designer house, very unique, I would probably love it on other people. Candied aromatics.

Mint-tea. Pleasant, may be too much patchouli.
