LUCA

This one is really, really addictive. I was initially pretty indifferent to it, but every time I wear it I find myself loving it more and more. The top is mostly peppery. The citrus from the bergamot and elemi is definitely there, but it just adds a bit of sparkle rather than being front and center. That being said, this scent smells mostly of woods and musks. Feels like the Ambrox Super is doing a lot of the heavy lifting; kind of synthetic but not in a bad way. It blends so nicely with the woods and moss in this, it's pleasantly woody itself. Definitely great year round. The scent, by nature of the musk and citrus notes, mixes really well with sweat. On the other hand, it's woody and warm enough to be great for fall and winter. It's got pretty good longevity, lasts me a little over half a day and it's projecting for most of that time.

Absolutely fell in love with this scent when I had the chance to try it in Paris. It is a subtle scent, but one that reappears and makes itself known throughout the day. It feels very sophisticated, and holds a perfect balance of all my favourite notes: the cedar and musk develops beautifully on the skin, while the black pepper and the citrus just instantly draws you in with its incense-like quality. Yet it's never heavy, cloying or too "sharp", and doesn't become too tiring to wear.

Bought the TLY discovery set and really enjoyed Luca and Sala. I purchased a full size of this one. I then sampled DS&D’s IDKW and like others have said it’s very similar, though, to me, Luca is less musky, a little bit drier, and more unique. Unfortunately this lasts maybe 2 hours as a skin scent. And for the price, it really isn’t worth it. I even bought a fragrance extender hoping it might increase longevity to no avail.

I don’t like musk scents and was pleasantly surprised by the gentleness of Luca (even though I always sneeze after the first spray). Most spicy male scents burn your nose and are headache inducing, but Luca was light and peppery like an earthy soup. For me, the scent evokes memories of a gentle sweat after kneading bread. The price for 10mL felt a little abysmal though.

Smells sexy, fresh and musky. It's spicy but in a fresh way, like you have just been out in the cold air wearing your denim jacket. It's definitely a skin-scent that gives a little extra without being too overpowering. I will say that after an hour of wearing it I get nose blind, because it blends in so naturally but on others I can smell it.

Crisp sparkly aldehydes and pepper in the top, gentle but bright woods and cozy musk in the base, and an almost cold, clean, stainless steel feeling in the heart. This scent is very metallic to me almost in a Brutalist way, but with some softness. I always describe this as a metallic, more masculine Glossier You. Truly unisex!

Similar to other 'skin scents' like JHAG etc, it has a very fabric/denim/slightly artificial opening (ambrox). I like the peppery-ness, which lasts through to the drydown. Drydown is sweeter and muskier. Moderate projection for 4-5 hours and lasts ages on fabric. Overall it's more interesting than JHAG and I really like it!

I've had the atomiser become faulty in two bottles and thought I'd throw a little warning out. A shame because it's a nice scent and beautiful bottle. But I think when I finish it I'll look for an alternative because I can't stand the fragrance leaking all over my fingers when I apply it

This perfume is such a versatile fragrance. It's sexy and musky without being too intense or strong. The spicy woodiness gives it a warm feel that I love for fall, but again it still has a freshness about it from the citrus. So worth the money, and the bottle design is everything!

Smells almost nearly identical to JHAG Not a Perfume in my opinion. It has a bit more complexity though. Very subtle and close to the skin, but so beautiful. I apply it after I put on the JHAG Not a Perfume body lotion and it lasts for hours!

i'm really such a big fan of unisex perfume - and this is one that is truly that. this has become my signature scent, i find the longer it sits on my skin, the nicer it gets. so woody and musky, but gentle on the nose. truly beautiful !!

Really similar profile to Another 13 but not as sweet in the dry down. Just a super clean skin scent, something that I'm looking to add to my collection. And the bottle is super chic.

I love this perfume, it is so subtle but sexy. There's something about it that makes me feel fresh and fun, into it.

GUYS please HELP is there a cheaper alternative out there with equal or greater longevity and sillage ???

Reminds me of a diet speed legends. Clean, woody, fresh, peppery/spicy

A variation on the “modern” perfume genre, which is just a “your skin but better” kind of philosophy, with ingredients that supposedly change and adapt to the wearers skin. Another 13, Not A Perfume, I Don’t Know What, Escentric Molecules... if you’re familiar with these then you’ll notice Luca also follows the familiar Ambrox + Iso E Super backbone with some variations and alternative accompaniments. If you’ve already decided on your favourite from this genre you might pass this one by without much thought (mine is Another 13) but if not I think there’s still a lot of room to experiment and see how you feel. I think it’s most similar to I Don’t Know What, and least similar to Glossier You.

I'm in love––this is the coziest, gentlest soft woody scent, without being very sweet at all, and I can't stop smelling my wrists. It's a little waxy and candle-like even, with hints of peppery smokiness, and sits super close to the skin––giving cool, clean, luxurious. Compared to JHAG Not a Pefume, I'm getting a warmer, cleaner, less musty smell here. Or, Luca feels like a softer, more sophisticated alternative to something like Maison Margiela's By the Fireplace (although the light smokiness that comes through with the wood & musk might be a skin chemistry thing, not seeing much about it in other reviews!)

There’s definitely some heavy similarity to IDKW but I don’t think they’re identical. This one pulls muskier to me. A tiny bit sweeter as well I feel? It’s nice, I guess I get the appeal of these minimal skin scents even if it’s not a bandwagon I’ll be jumping on.

LUCA is the best fragrance I’ve purchased. It is long-wear and versatile. I find myself enjoying this scent throughout every season, maybe a little more during the fall and winter. It’s peppery, a little sweet, and very sexy

This is almost identical to Molecule 01. It’s good. Peppery. I don’t know the price, so I can’t say if it’s worth the money. The two are nearly indistinguishable imo.

Light peppery, woody, sexy musk. Pretty easy to wear but unfortunately does not have great legs.

I think this reminds me of Not a Perfume Superdose. Also maybe like Glossier You which comes off sort of sharp and woody on my skin as well. This is my least favorite of the three scents from this brand, but still glad I got to try them all. All three are unisex and easily wearable by everyone.

Truly a second skin scent. I could smell close to nothing at the nordstrom counter. I am outside now and can barely smell it, sage is the closest I get to detecting any of the scents like if you were to get a breeze of it out in the wild but even that is an exaggeration

Completely nose blind to this. I smell something vaguely smoky and musky from the spray, but on my skin...nothing. This feels Le Labo Gaiac 10 coded. Pass.

Ambrox Super and some forms of ambroxan in general are my ticket to wet-dog middle school boy city. It’s literally like that scene in Monsters inc where Mike asks Sully if he has “odorant.” I am sure this works on some people but on me it’s giving wet rag, musty sock, unwashed shirt. So sad because there’s a lot to love in this tree of notes, and I don’t think it’s the perfume’s fault so much as it is my skin chemistry.

Am i insane or does it have a lot of Iso e Super? This smells like celery and pepper on me.

Girl.... what was that... Like a ghost in the room. Smells great for 4 seconds, but ABSOLUTELY NO LEGS! I’m sad. I did about 10 sprays and then after walking from the bedroom to the front door, I smelled like nothing at all.

After about 5 minutes all you can smell is iso-e. Like the kind you would buy on e-bay.

I have been searching for my “cool girl skin scent” for a few years. A lot of my friends wear the obvious ones : Santal 33, Glossier You, I Don’t Know What by DS & Durga- and I just didn’t like any of those on my skin at all. They all went masculine or too dank (that sweaty musty yucky note). Thankfully Luca on my skin gives the fluffiest spicy sweet clean musk- it’s not linear or boring- it’s actually quite sexy and comforting. People compliment me on this one(yay), and I appreciate it because it took me so long to find this and it was worth the wait!

I bought a sample of this about a year or so ago and absolutely loved it. Once I had run out, I ordered another sample set to also try the newer ones and ordered Luca again. Straight away I thought it was far weaker than my first one but thought maybe I just remembered it better than it was. I then found the old sample with the tiniest bit left and tried it and it was definitely the scent I remembered, about double the strength and muskier. So disappointing as it was soooo good. It might have been reformulated or something.

A dead ringer for Liis Bo, and slightly cheaper with about equal performance. Less sweet than Bo, and even though I think they're extremely similar I prefer Luca. It is not remotely similar to any of the perfumes listed on fragrantica's "Reminds Me Of" section. I also don't find it to be an iso e super bomb, which most of those are. Sweet-ish warm incense and woods. Very light citrus. The citrus that is in it reminds me of those chocolate oranges you get around christmas, minus the chocolate.

The opening promises a subtle, super-lovely, masculine leaning woodsy skin scent, with prominent sandalwood and cedar.... and then in comes the screechy ambroxan, smashing everything to pieces like an aggressive sledgehammer to take over everything in the dry-down. It would be a crying shame but it also has zero longevity on my skin so thankfully it passed quickly!

I'm an avid fan of DS Durga's I don't know what and this was almost identical to that minus the expensivness of DS Durga. This is the perfect luxurious skin scent if you're into that. The big bottle is also so beautiful!

I think this is my favourite scent from TLY. My partner has it and it always smells so good on them. It's very down to earth; woody, musky. The blend of notes all are complimentary to one another.

Smells just like Molecule 01. Starts out super peppery, then it's just woody by the end. A very simple scent.
