I'm not quite sure what I'm smelling - it's very boozy to start, and dries down to a deep, amber smell. A little sweet but not overly so, with a hint of smokiness. I don't detect animalics, maybe some ambergris, but whatever is there it is very well balanced and folds into the booze. I really like it.

Comparable to the first version, just bouncier, slicker and apparently 100% natural. I don't really mind if a scent is natural or synthetic (or a mix), so this particular aspect does not matter much to me. There are undeniable DEV 2 elements, and there is nothing at all wrong with that. There's the notion that there are 2 notes -- I'm sure there are many more major players than that! I would have to say labdanum and amber -- but I also get that synth oud all the niche designers use -- agar blend? black agar? whatever it is -- as well as cinnamon and possibly cardamom. Either way, beautiful scent...
