Pink Sugar

Update: After about a month its a lot pinker and smoother and sweeter. It really does smell like a pink sugar to me, like caramel that is pink. I no longer get watermelon in the opening it goes straight to the sweet pink smell, it is no more sour candy but more so like the sour sugar particles on the candy which themselves are quite sweet but with a hint of the sour. I quite like that because it cuts through and uplifts the scent without making it citrusy or super sour. It also has a lovely undertone of frosted sugar cookies. It still doesnt smell truly like cotton candy but whatever its going for is still so yummy and fun. It has a very soft pillowy vibe even though I find it very strong not airy. I reach for it when I just want sweetness and pink vibes without any heaviness, soapiness, milkiness or cakeyness. Its hard to explain how easy it is to wear while being very yummy and non-linear. Its becoming a favourite! Old: The opening is quite watermelony to me but as it dries down it gets more sugary and powdery and becomes a cotton candy with that hint of burning sugar that makes cotton candy unique from regular candy. Thats lovely but its not as sweet as I would have imagined or wanted for a cotton candy scent, this is more of a powdery scent with an essence of cotton candy included than cotton candy straight up. And it still retains a hint of sourness from the watermelon sour gummy phase which is a little outside of the brief to me. Still on the hunt for an affordable cotton candy in that photorealistic lien but this is nice too and I am enjoying it for what it is.

It’s a watered down version of Pink Sugar by Aquolina. I thought it would be good to put in my bag because it’s small (since Pink Sugar is one of my favorites) but it’s not as strong...

Why make a $10 dupe of a $10 fragrance which also happens to be called Pink Sugar?

This is similar to Aqualina Pink Sugar but I don't think they are exactly the same. I find in the opening Tubbees starts as a bubblegum that quickly shifts into a sort of sweet pink, floral nectar with a subtle lemon drop and sour raspberry candy. Aquolina has that strong herbaceousness that I guess could be anise if I search but smells more like angelica to me, it is more of a sparkling cotton candy sweetness. After about a half an hour Tubbees still has the pink candy smell but I get a subtle minty smell like those green gummy spearmint candies. Aquolina almost has a soft light brown sugar and I feel that the angelica thing does develop into more of an anise. They are both still pink and sweet as well. After an hour is where they do become quite similar with Aquolina still hanging onto the anise and Tubbees becoming a very pink princess sweet candy floral scent. From here on they both remained moderate for about 5 hours at which point I went to bed. When I woke up in the morning they had both faded to a light sugared musk skin scent that I found quite lovely. In the end Aquolina did win out for longevity by a few hours but I felt they both performed well. They both developed quite a lot, neither was linear. If you don't like the licorice thing Aquolina has going on, or it's just not something you always want, I think Tubbees is a good alternative. I notice people saying the Tubbees fragrances don't last but I can't say that has not been an issue for me personally. I get 4 to over 8 hours from them, depending on temperature, humidity, what I'm doing that day, how well I moisturized, you know all those fun things that can affect how well a fragrance lasts.

In accordance with other sites: “Top Notes: A vibrant blend of raspberry, orange, bergamot, and fig leaf, offering a fresh and fruity introduction. Heart Notes: A sweet fusion of cotton candy, licorice, strawberry, red berries, and lily-of-the-valley, adding depth and playful sweetness. Base Notes: A warm and sensual foundation of caramel, vanilla, musk, sandalwood, and tonka bean, leaving a lingering and captivating trail.” I was very confused when I tried this vs Fragrantica notes. I got a lot of citrus, bergamot and fig leaf? at first. Very sweet yet sour, very bergamot. Then it gets sweeter and more powdery, reminiscent of Pink Sugar Aqualina. But not the same scent to me. Pink sugar is very licorice for me, while this is a lot less. It has the same sort of background scent to it as Al-rehab Soft. But it is definitely not that lemony! It’s a sweet blend of fruity cotton candy with citrusy, bergamot in the background. There’s just a dab of licorice and powdery creamy vanilla/caramel and tonka. Yes it is really similar to a dozen other “cotton candy” scents, but I like this more than most of the ones I have. I imagine I’ll use this when I’m at home relaxing.

Blind bought out of sheer curiosity for €5. I open it and suddenly my adolescence is standing right in front of me. This little fragrance is Pink Sugar by Aquolina. It didn’t just copy the name. Tribute? Shameless copy? Who knows. Sugary to the point of exhaustion — but I assume everyone here already knows the classic Pink Sugar. Pure nostalgia.

It does dry down very similar to aquolina within 5 minutes. It also smells better to my nose.
