Lemon Sugar

Not sure why they say this was launched in 2010...I found this fragrance at least 10 years ago at a small boutique in California. After I moved away I had the woman mail me two bottles at a time. She was special ordering it for her store and I couldn't find it anywhere else. I loved this perfume soooo much. It is sweet and playful, but not like pink sugar which smells cheap and like a little girls perfume. Its definitely bright, lemony and sweet in the beginning (hence the name) as it dries down the lemon edge fades and I get a soft musky vanilla. I was on a bike ride to work one day with this on and a man passed me on his bike, then turned around and followed me to tell me I smelled incredible...a little creepy...yes, but I would say thats some excellent sillage. I also had a beautiful gay man tell me I smelled like sex candy once while wearing this, whatever that is, I took that as a compliment nonetheless. So yah, definitely sweet but I don't really find it cloying like some other sweet fragrances. I haven't reached for this in awhile mostly because I've been on a musky amber kick for awhile now. I am happy that I can order this online now and don't have to bug that lady in California anymore!

This fragrance is actually my current favorite. What can I say? It basically is identical to pink sugar BUT to me, this perfume is more balanced in terms of fruitiness and sugar. In pink sugar I wanted to smell all of those fruits listed, but sadly all I was getting was burnt sugar and licorice. With this fragrance I get it ALL!I can smell the fruitiness and tartness of the lemon, bergamot and rasberry. I can also smell the cotton candy sugar. The dry down is heavenly with the vanilla and caramel.i can literally pick up on all of the notes listed except for the musk. What I love most is the sillage and longevity of this fragrance. I purchased a teeny tiny rollerball, so I can only put it on my pulse points..but honestly that's okay, because a little bit here and there goes a long way!It leaves a nice little cloud around me and I can at least smell it for 6 or more hrs. To me that's pretty good.

This was my first introduction to the Tulip brand. I hugged my friend and complimented her repeatedly on how good she smelled, and she told me she was wearing this perfume. I instantly bought it! When I put it directly on my skin, it does eventually warm up to be something that reminds me of a more refined and complex version of Pink Sugar. I have a special place in my heart for this scent, especially because it was my introduction to Tulip! If you like creamy coconut scents, I highly recommend their Coconut fragrance (my new favorite from them). I also love their Amber Vanilla Bean fragrance.

I dont even smell Pink Sugar at all with this. Its straight up Pacificas Indian Coconut Nectar. It doesnt have that familiar zing with the zesty undertones Pink Sugar is known for, it is very cloying and play-dohish like the Pacifica aforementioned one. Even my twin sister said it was too much and I sprayed one spritz.

Lemony and sweet just as the name implies. I tried this on one day when my partner and I were at Whole Foods. We were leaving the health & beauty section to go get our produce and I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist. I stopped my partner and asked her to smell it. She told me she'd buy it for me right then and there, and into the cart it went. Wearing this makes me feel like Marie Antoinette (sans impending decapitation). You know the part in the Sofia Coppola movie where Marie is eating desserts in a pastel silk chaise? It's like that. I'm looking forward to wearing it in winter and early spring. It would also make a nice Valentine's Day scent if you're looking for something playful that doesn't scream "sex." EDIT: Unfortunately, I've discovered that, in spite of the lovely opening, when I try to wear this one it starts to smell chemical-like, bitter, and icky after a while. However, when my partner wears it, it stays sweet and beautiful the entire time. I'm beginning to suspect that the entire Tulip brand doesn't agree with my chemistry.

The initial spray is kind of bitter lime or something then it dries down on me like a straight up lemon pound cake like drizzled in caramel. I wanna eat my own arm. YUMMMMMM!!!

I kid you not, this smells like a blend of Pink Sugar and a Shalimar flanker. There's an astrigent, non-gourmand lemon, spices, leather/suede/petrol, powder, and musk. This doesn't smell like an actual lemon or actual sugar at all, and definitely doesn't deserve to be called a gourmand because nothing about this smells edible.

I didn’t read these reviews before trying Lemon Sugar, and was trying to figure out why it was so familiar...it IS like a refined and more dimensional Pink Sugar! There are some bitter moments as this develops on the skin, but the welcome softer vanilla/caramel joins in as time goes on. And the culminating blend lasts! After a swim in the pool I still smelled lemony-sugar-y sweet! A fun summer fragrance! Update: One day later after pool, shower, bath, I still smell Lemon Sugar faintly on wrists and noticeably on the chair I was sitting in yesterday! 🙄A bit too much longevity power for me! 🍋Ordering the Vanilla Amber by Tulip with fingers crossed.

A beautiful healthy,chemical free alternative to Pink Sugar. The parallel in fragrance is uncanny. Sweet,lemony,clean,pristine.
