OR ± Kanabo

i've had the pleasure of owning a bottle for 3 years now, and i've gotten to try this out extensively on myself and others. this is essentially a soothing heliotrope bomb. it's almondy, yes, but heliotrope is the star of the show in my opinion. and you might think, well, doesn't heliotrope smell like almonds? yes, it does. idk how they did it here, but even though the heliotrope is powdery and almondy, it still provides a vivid purple floral imagery. at the end, it does have bitter, tonka-like hints that might burn your throat, even though it's a sweet structure. there is a huge resinous—imo, a liquid resin—aspect that weighs down the entire composition and makes it stick to your skin, which i think is the reason why this is so long-lasting. we're talking heavily resinous. i do get an apricoty, osmanthus-like effect in the beginning, but my nose gets used to it quickly, along with citrusy touches. but it's still there, and i know this because when i get whiffs of it on another person, it smells like a candied orange apricot and almond tart garnished with powdered sugar—sweet, powdery, and fruity. it's just volatile to my nose on my own skin. vanilla has a prominent presence throughout the wear, but i wouldn't say it dominates the heliotrope. also, idk why, but once it started to smell like musc ravageur for a brief second to me, and it made me wonder if it contains musk. overall, really, really quality fragrance. if you've ever smelled valmont's mica d'oro, this might hint at something like that, but as an owner of both, and knowing how quality valmont fragrances are, i still think the quality of this is significantly superior.

I've had this since release and it always smelled like oranges vanilla cream and whipped cream to me...now today I went to spray it and my nose it getting ROOTBEER ughhh I'm not sure if it's because my bottle us welll welll mancerated and the slight spices have just amped up with the amber and tobka but I hope my nose doesn't only pick up ROOTBEER for now on!!! I want the delicious unique orange cream scent I got before

Sugary powdery marzipan, very warm and comforting. Developing is quite boring, nevertheless - it smells the same after 10 min and after 3 hours on skin.

Vanilla, heliotrope and tonka create a sharp, bitter almond-like scent that is warmed by sweet orange. I believe that orange really is Cecile Zarokian's signature. Despite the notes the fragrance is far from gourmand. Kanabo smells almost synthetic and "poisonous". The dry down is somewhat powdery. I think this perfume will have its own fans. I can see this as a great scent for fun-loving party people who want to take the next step from Alien or Midnight Poison. Uer Mi provides their fragrances in sizes100ml, 30ml and travel size 8,5ml, which I wish more houses would do!

It was a blind buy for me, and although I recognize that it is very well done, I can't wear it, unfortunately. It's a predominantly almond smell, something in the vein of POTL by Luctor et Emergo. I have recently realized that this note is not my favorite, but I can see how those who like it will be attracted by this perfume. It has a beast mode longevity and projection, and yet comes off as delicate and soft. Besides almonds, I smell tonka beans and a lot of pepper that I first thought was saffron. I don't smell any oranges, osmanthus, or rubber dolls in it - i think these notes are just how different noses may interpret this combination of almond and pepper. UPD: I haven't tried Fatal Charm by Xerjoff, but their Alexandria II smells very-very similar (just a little bit more woody/smoky).

Whipped cream almonds sugar coated heliotrope! This is confusing! yet exciting! it has hints of almost everything delicious, & few more spices! it has majorly almonds, whipped cream, & heliotrope as the major notes, then comes some traces of opoponax, & very tiny bit of sichuan pepper to add the dark leathery background to it with some osmanthus apricot mix but on top of that comes the tonka beans. It's kind of confusing & unusual to be specific, it's quite interesting as well as i can see how it's compared to "Fève Délicieuse" by Christian Dior cause both have that tingly tonka bean with apricot, heliotrope, & opoponax mix. It is a mild sweet leathery blend as it's not gourmand not overly leathery. Just balanced and interesting. Now the dry-down is quite impressive! it has quite similarity with "Vanilla Chantilly" by DSH with that almondy vanilla nutty blend with hints of rubber on the back. Surprisingly, in fragrantica pitti 2017 video @ min 15:34 i agree with Elena! it does smell quite smooth, soft, quite, & gourmand (minus the woody) with extra slight rubbery, and as the creator said that it is inspired from her childhood days and from a dull which i personally see that smells like a dull. It is quite impressive and very delicate. I really like this fragrance as it's one of the best fragrances of 2017.
