VE ± Velvet

The opening is warm, earthy, woody and lots of citrus and a little vetiver. It's pretty pleasant. I believe it's also elemi what you smell in the opening, but I am not sure as I've never smelled pure elemi. It is a resin so I think it's giving warmth and sweetness to the citrus. In the heart more vetiver comes into play. It's the wet, earthy, dirty kind of vetiver. How I like it. EDIT: Now that I know Encre Noire, the vetiver in VE-Velvet is not thát intense anymore, but still very pleasant. It's a smoother version, more wearable. In the heart you can still smell the citrus, but the vetiver is dominant. Cardamom gives it a peppery spicyness where the mint is the finishing touch, freshening up the composition. The patchouli adds a little earthy quality to the whole. VE-Velvet does remind me of Grey Vetiver. It has the same warmth and both are vetiver based fragrances with lemon in the top. GV is smoother, more refined and sophisticated. VE is earthier, a quality GV doesn’t have. VE-Velvet is a nice fragrance but not very unique. I'd give it a 7/10. As for performance, it's on the weaker side, about average and stays close to the skin. It's one of those colognes I'd re-apply during the day. I think it lasts about 4 hours. It's office-safe. Don't think I ever got a compliment. It is a little expensive for what you get tho. I bought it at discount, €60. Retail is €110 for 75ml. Grey Vetiver would be a better choice, quality-wise. As for the brand name UER MI, I think it's pretty lame. I mean, it stands for "wear me" with an Italian accent. They must have been drunk when they came up with that name ;)

Sono daccordo punto per punto con la recensione di Colin...Un vetiver minimale, disincantato, carino, fresco...Un aroma sicuramente più maschile. Dopo la doccia del dopo palestra. Non mi offre suggestioni o emozioni. Prezzo eccessivo per un vetiver piuttosto semplice e poco persistente.
