Eau de Varens N° 4

a truly refreshing.. crisp ..bright.. lemony ..cologne ..old school..simple.. yet invigorating.. light.. yet full of freshly squeezed limes.. green limes.. with a hint of lemons..i also keep mine in the bedroom ..and in the bathroom ..for a refreshing wake up call.. it is perfect for summer days.. it is cooling ..bright.. crisp.. and also perfect for those who suffer from morning sickness.. or nausea.. or cant take heavy perfumes in the mornings..it is also ideal for younger children.. who want a hint of scent..it is very refreshing..although it is written on the bottle as a body splash.. i find it a bit harsh for that.. and i use it over clothes ..or even straight to my nostrils.. and pulse points.. i feel it opens up my alveoli.. and it acts as an astringent.. and has a cleansing power.. that can cleanse your nose from some germs .. i wish it lingered longer ..but you just have to keep re applying until you you wake up.. and have enough of citrusi splashes.. and decide to go for deeper grounds..it is an ideal unisex colonge..a bit more on the masculine side..with no initial sweetness.. i have them in all sizes from the tiny purse 25 ml to the 200 ml and i believe they even come in bigger bottles.. i like their bottles ..they are nice to keep around the house..they remind me of bright summer get a ways.. the perfume reminds me a bit of the lancome series of o de lancome and it also has hints of balmain the yellow old one and rochas mustache. it is simply a clasic citrycy lemony fresh calonge

I love No. 4's tangy lemon-lime. The mood is chartreuse. No. 4 is a typical bright and fresh mood changer cologne. And a good value commodity. No off notes at all, to my nose. For comparison, Monotheme's Lime is a full fragrance, with some pretty roundness, so more like another by Ulric, No. 6. Ulric No. 6 is a complete summer blend and similar to Arden's summer freshies. There is orange toned citrus and it's sweet with herbs, tea, and base support. One only needs a few of these refreshers because if they are good, as these are, they all do the same work. I've found the 150ml Ulric bottles from 5 - 12 dollars. They are 6 Euros on the company's site, so do not overpay. I suppose they could be room sprays but they do smell happy and clean on one's skin and clothes. Eau de Varens No. 2 is signed Maurice Roucel! There are no reviews and I think it was discontinued long ago. I'd like to get a hold of a bottle.

This fragrance profile strangely does not list lemon nor lime, but the fragrance opens with a very lemony vibe. Refreshing, relaxing, provides a fine cooling mist for the hot days. If you spray it on clothes, you will also get a nice faint woody drydown. I like it for the price, very serviceable, hard to dislike and impossible to hate. While not made for nights out, it can also serve as a "before to bed" fragrance after your shower/bath.

Very refreshing. I expected something like an oldschool cologne, similar to Eau de Rochas or perhaps Eau Sauvage, but it's closer to Fraicheur Vegetale Verveine, lemon, verbena and lemongrass, despite the two latter not being listed among the notes. Very citrusy, crisp and bright refreshment. Minimal lasting power, needs to be resprayed every five minutes, but then the refreshing qualities can be enjoyed again and again, and for this price, respraying is not a problem at all.

a very fresh and beautiful eau de cologne that doesn't have any staying power or sillage.In the packaging it's described as "une eau de soin" that one can spay all over his body.I personally keep a bottle of that in the bedroon to spray my pillows ans sometimes wear it during lazy weekend mornings.
