Mini Pink

Detailed review of Mini Pink: 3 sprays on each arm, warm spring afternoon. --- Starts off very very intense, with, indeed, a boozy vanilla overpowering any other note at the beginning. It is a nice vanilla, mind you, a woody boozy one that reminds me of old traditional perfume like Shalimar, instead of sticky pastries. As it dries, I get something a bit sharper that almost reminds me of the sour Angel patchouli, and a woody note that may be the sandalwood, but is not as creamy as I would expect. And something bitter and dry that may be the heliotrope. This phase is quite nice, very unisex, warm and distinct. It brings up old libraries with dark wood furniture, old perfumery and fall time, but it does wear well in a warmer day too. Up until this point, this is clearly the strongest of all Mini UdV I tried so far. It projects a lot and is strong. I am very surprised. It is also longer-lasting. After around 4-5 hours, it becomes a skin scent and it goes a hint sweeter and less woody, but still nice. This phase of a vanilla-almond-ish sweeter close-to-skin scent (not sticky pastries, but like those French vanilla sugar almonds) lasts 12 hours or maybe more.

I add to delete my previous review because I felt it did no justice to this fragrance. After a few days I FINALLY appreciate its quality. I tested this on my skin a few days and let my friends and colleagues in corporate experience it. Without my influence they all agreed it smelled high quality, slightly floral with a soft vanilla-sandalwood drydown that's extremely appropriate for professional office setting. I decided to be a little naughty and tell them this is a Mugler Angel flanker, and they all believed me! They were super shocked to learn it was actually a $3 perfume. This is a brilliant little winner in my book, and I classify this in the same category as Zadig & Voltaire's This is Her: A feminine, slightly gourmand work scent with a masculine, sandalwood twist. Well-blended, outstanding quality for the price and a modern scent. It took time for me to appreciate its beauty. Currently my favourite from Ulric de Varens.

Initial review of Mini Pink. One spray on the arm. (quick review for now, I intend to write a a better and more detailed review later) --- Reading the notes here, I expected a sticky sweet fragrance, strong on the caramel. Instead, it's a very boozy vanilla, supported by some woody notes (not clearly recognizable as sandalwood, but could be). I then checked Ulric de Varens website and it has more notes listed there: Top: Bergamot, Heliotrope Heart: Caramel, Tonka Base: Musk, sandalwood, vanilla I don't get any bergamot, but I could be getting heliotrope (as it dries it's getting powdery), and I am getting clear tonka notes at this point. As it dries further, I am starting to get the creamy roundness of sandalwood notes, and it's getting less boozy but more powdery. There's a hint of the classics like Shalimar at this point, if you squint. Nice and better than I expected. Worth a retry for sure.

I think this has nothing in common with angel. It just smells like caramel + vanilla, completely different than angel. But i really like it, especially for the little price :)

This is right up my alley - powdery vanilla. Very distinct Jean Claude Ellena DNA. Always buy a new bottle when start one .

Won this little thing at a local countryside festival (so get in the mood) during a charity raffle. This is such a juvenile and weak scent, when you spray it you get a whiff of a chemical blend of unprecise, sweet notes. It smells pink, and a bit pungent and sparkly, but I really couldn't discern what I was smelling. I'd categorise it as "generic cheap aroma-chemical concoction" one usually finds at the bottom of the discounted bath products in grocery stores. Vanilla? Caramel?? Where?? Projection and longevity are that of my dead teenage dreams. Having said that: I love that whole mood. It took me back to being 13, badly painted blue shimmery nails and 1 euro black eyeliner. TLDR: With the right attitude it's such a bimbo moment. Cheap and kitsch and wonderful at that. EDIT: DAMN I let this macerate a bit and it's a beast. Great longevity, crazy projection. It got deeper and sweeter, the sandalwood is strong. It's a caramel-sandalwood woody sugary gem. I stand corrected: this is is a yummy, woody, delicious little thing. Lasts eternally on clothes.

Honestly I am very disappointed by the name of this perfume and its packaging. There's nothing pink about it. If I had to redesign the bottle, I would give it some sort of yellow or copper shade. It's not sweet at all. It's actually perfectly unisex. I think the caramel could be replaced by brown sugar since I can smell it here without it being sweet. The notes are also not complete. This is how I would describe them. Top notes: Brown sugar, Patchouli; Middle notes: Lavender, Patchouli, Vanilla; Base notes: Musk, Powdery notes, Sandalwood. The scent is not so bad. I actually have a Patchouli based soap that smells exactly like this scent. It was sold in Lidl during February-March 2022. This also doesn't smell like Prada Candy. I will wear this scent but only during autumn and winter. It's also very unisex so I will probably layer it with something else.

I bought it because it resembled the smell of Paris when I was there. I should say that it is very synthetic, even reminds of cleaning chemicals, but sweet - as if you go along a busy street and drop into a perfumerie; no one likes it on body, so I used it to spray the room, to stimulate the souvenirs about the city =) Agree that it's a cheap version of Angel.

The opening is dominated by an alcoholic note, soon giving way to caramel accords that gradually become increasingly creamy. The fragrance settles intimate and close to the skin for several hours, with a subtle sillage. Despite this restraint, it occasionally makes its presence known, gently caressing with soft, creamy caramel nuances.

It is a very sweet, simple and joyful caramel - vanilla fragrance. I had it as a young teen. Although I do not like such sweet scents anymore and I cannot imagine wearing this as an adult, if I spot it in the wild on someone it always brings a smile to my face.

Be(a)st worn with old blue jeans and a fresh white T-shirt. Call me crazy, I find the Minis are concept-wise like the Hermes line. Makes me smile to think that. They speak quite clearly! EDIT: Ohhh!! Haha. I just read the assumption of JCE composing it.

These cost 3,5 Euro (about 5 Dollar) so don't expect them to be first class. But for that price this is a very acceptable dupe of Pink Sugar! Fresh and sweet. Definitely for teens and feel-alikes ;)

I really liked but not to wear it myself as I find it very unisex/masculine. On my skins drydown is more incense and myhrr. Good it was cheap and may use it only at home.

This really is something like a drugstore version of Angel or the likes. You get a blast of caramel. It's very overwhelming.

It's different than I expected. It’s sweet, but not in a candy-like way; it has a hint of tobacco, but without any smokiness; it’s strong, but not overwhelming. I immediately associated this scent with Angels' Share, which I tested some time ago. They’re certainly not twins—Mini Pink has actually been around longer, so if anything, Angels' Share would be the dupe, not the other way around 😉—but they definitely share the same vibe. I went for it, and I don’t regret it. A truly great affordable find; you don’t come across a scent like this every day. It has nothing “pink” about it and isn’t your typical sweet vanilla-caramel fragrance. I don’t find it floral at all.

I don't smell any caramel notes here - at all. Similar to Diesel Plus Plus Feminine.

This smells like it could have been good, but there's just too much going on.

Plastic, synthetic, caramel-vanilla scent. Now that I smelled it I remember I owned it as a teenager but it had a different bottle, at the time I really liked it, now I can't stand it. Some say this is a dupe for Prada Candy but I think this was launched before Prada Candy came to markets. Also the caramel/vanilla in Prada feels very natural and well done while this just feels like perfume for plastic dolls, so if you are thinking about buying Prada Candy but fear it will be too similar to this please give Prada another chance. I honestly regret having sprayed this on my wrist, this stuff has good sillage and I think it will last forever and ever on me. Oh well.
