UDV V.I.P.

Checked Cassiano's review before i placed an order online for the bottle.. and i must say i completely agree, it does remind me of Armani PH my dad used to wear in the early 90s.. Beautiful and addictive and under $10! Absolutely worth a try.. i do get a hint of ginger which doesn't seem to be mentioned in the notes above and some flower notes which i cant tell for sure.. dont get too much stay on my skin though.. projects for the initial hour or two and dies out in about 5-6 hours.. fair enough for its price though... no regrets.. :)

This is an excellent fragrance for lovers of Armani pour Homme, Eau Sauvage, Adolfo Domìnguez 1993 Agua Fresca, Chanel pour Monsieur, and Boucheron pour Homme, as I am. You get the idea. It is nothing ground-breaking but what it does, it does very competently. It is a springtime-summer citric, spicy, and woody fragrance, with a distinctive and distinguished aroma that belies its low price. It has moderate projection and longevity. Highly recommended for what it is.

Actually I bought this to use as a room spray because it is cheap, $9 Sgd. Bu i wore it. But VIP dries down very nice lemondry barbershopy. The opening was pretty synthetic to be honest I I didn't quite like it. Cheap and good other than the opening

I have worn Ulric de Varens UDV VIP several times. I honestly think it is a bit overpriced, well unless US supplies are low. It smells really good. It smells like one of the many DHC clones but with a little Eau Sauvage, I want to say Eau Sauvage Cologne. The opening gives me a very familiar lemon-lime 7-up/Sierra Mist open like Zara Blue Hole does. As this settles in, it dries and goes into a more mature direction than most DHC clones. This is due to the lemon verbena taking a petitgrain-like direction it into a more Eau Sauvage/Eau Sauvage Cologne territory. Perhaps that is the mix of cardamom with the verbena. The base is mostly leather with some woody notes which cements the Eau Sauvage vibs. The fragrance is a spring/summer/fall day scent. I also see this fragrance as a casual but also dressed up, maybe a daytime date too. Like a spring/summer button up short-sleeve/polo or white tee fragrance. I get about 5 hours out of it and that is fine. UDV VIP is nice, I think it is a 7.0 out of 10. Yes, this is my "usual" average rating, but it does fine and does what it needs to. I just think that the price of about $20USD for 50ml is a bit too much. Had it been from a more reputable house, sure. Ulric de Varens is kind of a cash-grab we make clones brands but it is not as easy to figure out what they clone as say Lomani or Cuba Paris. Seriously, check out the a number of their fragrances. Most do not have me-too packaging.

A citrus fragrance of standard cleanliness and familiar originality that any man might appreciate. Its performance is average for its price, and it won't disappoint anyone, especially for blind purchases. If you keep your expectations moderate, you'll quite like this perfume.

just if you like lemon, try it

Well, I only knew UDV VIP for the comments, until I decided to give one bottle for my dad on father's day in 2012. The money was short and my father also loves being scented. As I already know the style of scents that he likes, I have chosen this one without fear. For those who know the famous Armani Eau Pour Homme, it’s not necessary to say anything else, because this one is very similar. Others who follow the same style would be YSL Pour Homme or Boucheron. For those who do not know that smell, I will try to describe it a bit: it is a citrus-Woody cologne, that has notes of bergamot, lavender, cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, vetiver, leather and moss (in fact there are more notes in the composition, but these are the most noticeable, in my opinion). For many, the result is not pleasant, because it's a dated cologne or as some like to call, "uncle smell ". For me, UDV VIP is a very elegant and refined fragrance, ideal for working environments, especially in hot climates. It is sober and has a personality. It projects well, but the lasting is not like in UDV for Men, for instance. In this one, the lasting was about six hours, which, still, I consider very good for the price I paid. And just to wrap up, the fragrances of Ulric de Varens were developed in collaboration with perfumers as Henri Bergia, Pierre Bourdon, and Jean-Claude Ellena. The latter, for those who don't know, is the perfumer of numerous successful fragrances, among them, almost all of the Hermès house.

To my nose it is so close to cerutti 1881 , old style but not dated and it gives a barber shop type of fragrance I’m not sure if it is close to Dior eau sauvage. Edit : I just tried Eau sauvage and they are share some similarities in the top and maybe middle note after that they are totally different at the base note and they are not similar at all I still see that UDV VIP is so close to cerutti 1881

The current 2024 version has changed significantly, departed from the scent above. If the new formula listed 3 notes, they could be Aquatic Citrus, Minty Lavender, Balsamic Sandalwood. It's not bad, I kinda digged the cheap blind buy - even tho it was not at all what I expected to get based on this Fragrantica profile.

Reminds me of this adidas fragrance called sport field that I had used during high school.. very clean and suitable for all ages.. longevity is very decent, gives me a 3 hour scent cloud and sticks close to the skin for nearly 7 hours.. good for the office..

To my nose it smells like adidas sport field that i used in my first year at university.... brings back nice memories....i m in search of adidas sport field that i cant find in my country so i m going for udv vip....

Got it for 9 USD....i simply love its smell...very nostalgic scent....the downside is its longevity....but hey as long as its taking me back to my golden time, ill be a lover...............its a definite keeper.

such a splendor aroma on such a cheap price. Really hard to find though...

I agree, it's Eau Sauvage's clon for 10€. GREAT!
