Varens d'Orient Amethyst

Ou-la-la, a gorgeous gourmand! Out of the 'Varens d'Orient' collection 'Amethyste' is by far the most scrumptious, delish, mouth-watering and flirty! It smells like a crumbly almond cookie with juicy-sweet orange! I can see why this is compared with 'Live Irresistible Delicieuse'. The almond, heliotrope & vanilla combo in 'Amethyst' is similar to the glazed, mille-feuille French pastry note in Givenchy. 'Girl of Now' is in the same family as these 2, but 'Amethyst' doesn't have that overwhelming 'buttery' characteristic. Instead it focuses on the flavour of the spicy, nutty goodness! First spray on my skin I immediately get a pink-peppery sweet orange with almond crumble. As it develops on my skin it becomes more delectable, seductive and gourmand with vanilla & amber. The almond note stays throughout the whole perfume lifecycle to the dry-down (woohoo!). I get no musk on my skin (hurray)! Just a yummy vanilla, orange almond pastry with a dash of spice! This is definitely one of the stand-out perfumes in the UdV range. I'm so impressed at its quality! If I didn't already own 'Live Irresistible Delicieuse' and 'Poison Girl' EDT & EDP then I would definitely repurchase this for life. It smells FAR more expensive than its price, lasts long on the clothes and will definitely gather compliments. 'Amethyste' super feminine, sultry and perfect for the winter season!

I think it's one of the scents that is not sold anymore because I can't find this perfume anywhere. I tried it by coincidence in a store I entered, I couldn't smell it at first and I kept trying other scents, but after ten minutes it started to show its real character. It is an extremely special scent that not everyone can carry. At the same time, it is not a fragrance suitable for every place and time. For example, you can't spray this smell and go for coffee. I see this fragrance more as a perfume that can be used for a meal that can be enjoyed in the fall, or for a walk outside in the summer evening. Since it smells like nature, it can also be used when going camping or on a picnic. It will smell a little abnormal in hot weather or normal day. I think that this fragrance, which is suitable for all ages, can be weared by young girls and middle-aged people. I haven't had a chance to test the silage but I've smelled it on one person before and it could be picked up from a meter away. Its durability is legendary for its price. In general, perfumes at this price always smell the same and have almost no longevity, but this perfume is one of the best perfumes I have smelled for its price. Also it doesnt smell like cheap perfume. It's not a very feminine scent. I spryed just to try it but if I see online or in a store it I'll get it right away.

probably the most low cost fragance that smell like a expensive parfum into my collection i can see that some compares this with poison and black opium but the notes remember me poison , the green bottle started with a scratchy smell for the pink pepper and later transform like a sweet vanilla with toffe and flowers with almond that transform the fragance for some most calm but later take this notes and changue for a sooo mature and big smell similar like poison fragance ideal for nights and winter definetly the wake is more big than black opium so, my fav gourmand and smell like amor amor forbidden kiss too <3

Es delicioso el aroma. Ya no se vende mas en mi pais, lo compre el año pasado y solo para ocasiones especiales lo uso porque perdura mucho el aroma, y puede molestar en el trabajo, para ello uso otro perfume. Es dulce, pero no empalaga. Es un dulce elegante. Dura relativamente bien, tanto en la piel como en la ropa, yo le siento mucho el olor a almendras, no tanto a vainilla. No huele a pastel, seria para una mujer joven de 20 a 35 años aprox. Relacion precio - calidad muy bueno. Lo recomiendo mucho.

Me fascina, una fuerte salida almendras dulces con un fondo de vainilla espectacular, me recuerda muchísimo al Good Girl clásico por la nota de almendra que posee, a pesar de ser un perfume económico no se siente para nada sintético ni huele a perfume barato, en mi tiene una duración de 8 horas con una estela igual de perdurable, al inicio proyecta 5 horas intenso la siguientes 3 horas es una brisa deliciosa de vainilla ambarada 20 puntos para Ulric de Varens por esta joya

What a great perfume for a great price. Very sweet, addictive and sophisticated at the same time. No synthetic notes at all and smell like a very expensive perfume. Iam surprised by its quality.

En definitiva esto no tiene nada que envidiarle a Black Opium en estela y fijación, tengo ambos perfumes. Y les puedo decir que la calidad es muy parecida la recomiendo ampliamente.

Not for me.. I thought I would enjoy this based on the reviews but it gets nauseatingly sweet for my nose. I believe due to the highly dominant vanilla :(. If you like orangey intense vanilla with the touch of soapy almonds go for it. Weather update: now that the weather is colder, i appreaciate this more. I get more powdered sugar vibes from this.

This is a much lighter Fleur De Femme, the cherry-loaded, patchouli woodier version of Poison Girl - no heliotrope - think Poison Woman instead of Poison Girl lol. This one and FDF have the same identity and common basic notes structure. It is also a lighter, more crisp, more orangey Poison Girl EDP. Hypnotic Poison/Sweet Hope are orange-free so different category for me, more playful and marzipan-candy-like than this. This is less sharp than Fleur De Femme. No woodiness here either, no sandalwood, no patchouli/cedar/peach unlike in Fleur De Femme. So it is lighter with the jasmine (common note with FDF) perfect for summer, cleaner, and the almond shines more. No tonka here. I love tonka and in Poison Girl, not so much in Fleur De Femme. I had to test all 3 on my skin. Orange and amber may give cherry-like vibes at the drydown (just like I get them in Poison Girl EDT), but the initial blast is pure orange, I love it. Poison Girl has its sweetness from the almond/orange blossom element reminiscent of Black Opium's orange blossom/bitter almond; it is deeper with the tonka, and the rose overload, more balsamic with the balsam and cashmeran. Here the orange's sweetness is the star. Intense in the opening, fizzy and cheerfully spicy with the pink pepper. After 15 mins of the initial spray the rose becomes more dominant so the similarity to Fleur De Femme is obvious. All three perfumes are balsamic to me though with an oriental vibe (orange/rose/almond), hence the name here d'Orient Amethyst. The orange/rose/almond blend give that sharp contradicting melancholy twist, the signature element of Poison Girl EDP and Fleur De Femme. Im a crazy almond lover so I was never a huge fan of it, but it is different and grew addicting to me. The drydown of d'Orient Amethyst is a perfect harmony despite the rose/orange component. Delicious, musky, milky, and creamy. The amber, heliotrope here intensify this oriental sensation the first 2 hours. Poison Girl has lots of rose and orange blossom, it is pink in my mind, sweeter, while FDF is burgundy. The heliotrope here also makes that connection to Poison Girl - their drydown is similar. Ulric's perfume is more orangey but the heliotrope is a beautiful purple touch, a bit of powderiness, it matches the theme: Amethyst. Fleur De Femme has no heliotrope but patchouli/cedar so more mature, woodier and sharper than both. The almond is playdoh-like and fresh in both Ulric's creation and PG. More intense in PG being at the base. PG is more almondy, sweeter, lighter and playful than Fleur De Femme, being more spicy and mature. Ulric's creation is somewhere in the middle, the almond is at the top here too. Girl of Now is smoother than this, less oriental, due to lack of rose, and more almondy reminiscent of Hypnotic Poison's almond. This perfume is not too potent, lasts about 3 hours on me. Whats left after 2.5 hrs is a soft delicious orangey vanilla scent with a hint of almond. This is much spicier than Sweet Hope (La Rive), lets say Hypnotic Poison due to the orange and lack of white florals, coconut, apricot (only jasmine here). Almond is at the base there so very potent, pure and sweet. Common notes with Fleur De Femme: Almond at the top in both, bitter orange- orange here, rose, jasmine, musk, vanilla. Common notes with Poison Girl: Bitter Orange-Orange here, almond at the base there so more intense, rose, heliotrope, vanilla, cashmeran there (deeper ambery musk)- amber here.

It starts out OK. Kinda fruity, powdery, lotion. I think the orange and vanilla are not needed. The vanilla cheapens it and makes this scent less unique. Unfortunately this perfume smells cheap and that is disappointing. I was looking forward to this one fading off my skin, and luckily it did pretty quick. This is one of the rare occasions where I will keep the perfume just because the bottle is gorgeous, and that's only because I'm not disgusted by the scent. But I would never wanna go anywhere smelling like this. The dry down has this "sweaty vanilla" vibe that I despise. I was really hoping the almond would shine through. No almond at all, maybe in the opening but thats it. Their men's Fragrances are much higher quality. At least UDV for men, I really enjoy. Will come back and edit if my feelings change. Edit: sniffed the paper I sprayed this on after 20 minutes. More pleasant creamy note and the sweatyness fades and more sweetness pulls out. Still smells cheap though. Edit 2: what the heck. The creaminess and cheapness has subsided. The opening is back and turned this scent into a mysterious experience. Can't make out the closing notes. Almost smells like the opening again. But without the powdery lotion, more fruity and perfumey now. I need more time to get to know this. Such a fun experience I've had with this one.

You really can’t go wrong here if you like almond fragrances! It’s a balsamic type of vanilla almond, not at all gourmand like Reminiscence’s Heliotrope. The pink pepper note in this scared me but thankfully I didn’t get any of that. It opens up bright & sweet with orange and then settles into a sweet balsamic ambery vanillic almond. It smells like the love child of Poison Girl and Trussardi’s Sound of Donna to me (even has that same pencil-shaving almond scent that the Trussardi has), but at a fraction of the price. I like it ☺️! If you’re looking for a dupe of Poison Girl or Sound of Donna, this is pretty spot on!

I was craving for almond-ish perfumes last week, and that brought me to blind buy this perfume. Unfortunately, it’s not the almond smell that i expected. I love bitter-nutty almond in fragrances, and this one as the whole is too sweet, too syrupy, and too cheerful for my taste. Don’t get me wrong, gourmand perfume lovers would love this! It’s reminiscent of Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka, without the licorice.

This is definitely a good dupe for Black Opium. It's very sweet, which I don't much care for, but if you're looking for a sweet, fruity gourmand, or a BO dupe, this is probably a safe choice. I don't think it smells cheap at all. It's quite dense and really well done.

Unsuccessful blindbuy here It doesn't smell bad, but I was hoping for something similar of Poison girl. Maybe i got a bad batch..mine is VERY powdery/dusty with a musky undertone. It's not really sweet either, I expected to be sweet/almond
