Varens Sweet Vanille Caramel

personally, i love this scent, and i actually feel like the bottle and atomizer feel high-quality, but i don't think it's necessarily worth getting at it's current price on amazon ($16 for 1.7oz + 0.7oz travel spray), at least for me. the opening blast smells like body fantasies vanilla, and then the core of this scent reminds me of a mix of victoria's secret coconut passion and find your happy place lazy weekends. it's like a perfume version of all of those scents. i own and am a fan of all three of those scents, so while this is great for layering, it doesn't really add much to my collection. i'm very glad to have it--it's a delicious, caramel coconut scent that layers so well with other gourmands--but i think that when this runs out, i'm more likely to just restock on a bottle of coconut passion for like $7 on sale and get 5 times the product for a very, very similar scent.

smells a lot like brown sugar bubble tea sadly i can't really smell the vanilla that well at first, but the caramel and syrup are really strong on me the longevity on skin is really bad, it lasts about 30 minutes with a stronger smell and after it just starts fading until there's nothing left to smell around 2 hours after application. though, on clothes, it's almost eternal - applied it at around 10 pm last night, woke up and still smelled a really nice cookie-like vanilla essence on my shirt from a decent distance. definitely spray it on your clothes if you want it to last i can definitely understand the concerns about the headache or the alcohol-y smell at first, but if you want to smell like pancakes and bubble tea for a very tiny price i would definitely recommend this perfume

what a delicious scent. Besides being affordable this scent is caramel sugar and pairs well with sabrina carpenter's sweet tooth body mist. Love it and bought a few to keep with me. It's compact and you can carry it in your bag conveniently. The pyramid is as follows: first spray: sweet caramel settles into syrup and sugar lastly there remains a faint and lovely vanilla no coconut and barely any alcohol. it's worth the 8 or 9 pounds this sells for but i wouldn't buy it for more than that. Cutesy! 10/10

It's a truly beautiful scent! I smell sugar, toffee and vanilla. The notes are simple, but together they smell fantastic! Longevity and sillage is good, 4-5 hours on clothes, and it's excellent for the inexpensive, but a high quality fragrance! A true gourmand's paradise. The vanilla here isn't confectionary, but truly for perfumes, and the sweetness is moderate. This scent is perfect for any time of the year to bring your spirit up! I bought the last bottle at the perfume shop and I am very happy!

One sniff and I was transported back to the summer fête foraine where the sweet smells of colourful lollipops, cotton candy and candied peanuts fill the air. This unassuming cheap little bottle of perfume is everything I was hoping for in my quest for the gourmandiest of the gourmands. I can't comment on longevity or sillage and I don't really care because I'm off to buy about a hundred bottles to spray myself continuously so I can live my life in a cloud of sweet goodness.

This smells like a caramel waffle with coconut cream. I honestly don’t think a note like coconut belongs in this perfume at all but I’m not complaining because it smells amazing. This pairs so well with eos vanilla cashmere and caramel cascade by Paris corner (varens goes first). Overall very good toffee vanilla scent, the coconut is prevalent but it fades away on the dry down. This smells SO good. This a man catcher, they gon wanna eat you off the BONE with this combo.

One of the best cheapies that I have ever tried!!! For the firsts 5-10 seconds, it does smell like alcohol and I was about to be disappointed but luckily soon enough caramel, toffee, vanilla and sugar started to smell, in a very nice way! It doesn't smell cheap at all actually and it stayed on my skin till the next day!!! On my clothes longer. Perfect by itself and amazing for layering! Can't believe I paid 6 euros only, I love it!

i actually love itt, it reminds me greatly of the v.s coconut passion when it dries down in a short period of time. not nauseating, isnt too overpowering. the great balance of gourmand, too! if youre looking for a sweet vanilla-ish perfume, id recommend this. when you spray it, you smell more of the caramel and coconut notes rather than vanilla. but as dries down you can sort of smell the vanilla in there

might just be the best ‘budget to quality’ ratio perfume out there. definitely a very overly sweet scent, however it doesn’t smell like crayons to me- as most cheap perfumes do. easy-to-use bottle and nice spray. very affordable. one of the best vanilla-caramel scents i have tried. suitable for people who want to smell very sugary, but not too nauseating.

This is a true caramel scent!!! I think any other sweet caramel perfumes fade in comparison, on my skin this smells exactly like caramel syrup and milk toffees (the sticky ones), it has great longevity too, I sprayed on my wrists this morning, when I went to sleep I could still smell it!🧡🧡🧡

Love this! It is a yummy, straightforward vanilla caramel - the type of caramel in a caramel frappuccino. Its sweet and gourmand, not complex, and fairly linear. My only complaint is that it smells amazing in spray, but only lasts 2 hours or less ):

That was a surprise for sure. I do love myself a vanilla and this is a very good one. It doesn't only smell like a warm gentle vanilla to me though, it also has a quality that reminds me of a good butter you'd use in your cake. Its so warm and comforting, but it doesn't like fly away far from you, this is a scent that's impossible to hate, you'd just find it boring if anything. this won't disturb anyone in the office for sure. What surprised me is how same it stayed throughout the wear too, this is for sure not a complex scent pyramid. I rly wish the first vanilla perfume I bought was this and not vanilla touch from La Rive, the legit worst perfume ever. If you want a nice cheap vanilla, this is it. and if you like not exciting scents, this is it too. The vaporizer is also rly nice and the packaging just screams backery additive. you know, those little yellow glass vials for vanilla flavour. EDITED TO ADD: I visited my mother and she said you can smell it when I walk past and that it reminds her of the vanilla impulse deodorants and the Betty Barkley vanilla scent from the 90s that was used Ad Nauseum. So if you are after that, this perfume smells like that.

a very photorealistic caramel fragrance that smells similar to salty toffee milk caramels. The caramel note is very sweet, and slightly salty, making it smell like actual candy. The price is extremely low—around €5—and for that cost, the scent is really good. Wearing it feels like walking around smelling like literal caramel. Performance, however, is weak. Longevity is bad and projection is even worse. That said, given the price, it’s easy to overspray and enjoy it mainly for yourself. Funny side effects of wearing this perfume include 🤪 🐝 attracting bees like you’re a flower shop 🍩 strangers trying to lick your wrist 🧸 your plushies suddenly look like snacks 📸 people asking if they can take a “candy selfie” with you 🍪 sudden uncontrollable cravings for cookies, brownies, literally anything sweet 💃 random urges to spin around dramatically like a dessert fairy 6/10

I bought it blind and told myself that I could give it to my sister if I didn't like it, since she is big into sweet perfumes while I'm not. Well, I kept it. It's a lot more of a caramel scent on me, which contributed to me not parting with it. I don't like vanilla in most cases, but here it just contributes to the overall vibe. It's sweet, it's warm, it smells how I want a caramel coffee to taste. It's nothing I could wear everyday and you could argue that it's one of those perfumes that need to match your overall vibe or at least your outfit, because it can read as cheap if it doesn't. It lasts extra long on me and I could still smell it on my sheets after falling asleep in it, my cat curled up on my shirt and I can still vaguely smell it on him. It's a surprisingly good one!

Oh wow, is that what I think it is? An affordable, realistic toffee/caramel scent that doesn't get overly sweet, bitter or synthetic? Looks like it. Can't really say much about the longevity or sillage, since the sample bottle at the shop I was at was almost empty, and I managed to get one last half a spray out of it. But that was enough to convince me that I should probably get this - I've been looking for a nice toffee fragrance for ages now, and even if this lasts half an hour max (I think it will) I don't really care - this is simple and fun, and I'd love to wear it when the weather's not too hot, and I'm not feeling like smelling like anything unique or complex. Creamy toffee, white sugar, vanilla syrup. Not much else, and that's great.

Bought this perfume in France when visiting (you can buy it in Super U) because the tester smelled like a baked good , sort of like my macerated VS bare vanilla but with a buttery note Just opened it yesterday and I can immediately smell the syrupy toffee but it's more caramelly , less buttery/milky than the tester in the shop - I suppose because the tester has been sitting out for a couple years marinating lol There's also quite a forward coconut note that I didn't smell in the tester Look forward to seeing how it matures 😁

okay as a self proclaimed gourmand hater, i like this perfume. its not a love and i wouldnt wear it regularly but its sweetness is balanced out by the coconut and richer caramel. immediate scent is like caramel and coffee, but after the dry down it is much more coconut and vanilla heavy. i havent worn it long enough to determine sillage but its not super strong, more clings to the skin. i think my boyfriend will like this one lol

A good, beginners friendly gourmand fragrance. The vanilla and caramel are balanced well with musk. Musk calms the sweet notes so this won't give you headache. I really liked the packaging, it is flat and thin so i can easily put it in my purse and refresh. It is not long-lasting, stays on the skin about 3-4 hours. But with this price I don't mind it that much. I got it for 7 euros.

Yummy buttery gourmand caramel waffle that is somehow not cloying and somewhat airy and musky. With 4-5 sprays, every now and then I get blissful whiffs of this for hours. The box and the bottle with their retro snack-like graphics are really enjoyable too. Fellow cheapie vanilla enjoyers feel free to proceed with the purchase. Ahh I really want to eat caramel waffles now...

Starts of as Werters, goes into a doll-head/playdough, for the price, you get what you pay for. might not be everyone's cup of tea, but certainly someone's. Ok to spray on like, the bed, for sweet dreams (lol) idk, more of a waffle/toffee when you get a quick wif of it, but might be really bad on the bus, confined spaces etc. I do not regret spending 6 euro on this :)

I have it for a couple of months now and it smells exactly like crayons to me. If I smell with focus I can see that it's vanilla but if I'm randomly smelling it my mind just goes "crayons" Just put 2 sprays on my wrist, will check on how long it lasts. Sillage is very very intimate. But I like that it's not headache inducing as perfumes with high sillage.

A very sweet, childish fragrance. I usually carry it in my bag in case I forget to wear a perfume. It lasts longer on skin! I get caramel & toffee — no coconut though! It’s yummy when you layer it with Sabrina Carpenter’s caramel dream body mist or Tesori d’Oriente Byzantium! It’s lovely for it’s price!

It's not as complex as the notes say. I don't get any of those, it's just caramelized vanilla; simple yet pretty. Bought because it was cheap (basically free, 7 dollars) . I would love this fragrance if the sillage was stronger, it just sits too close to the skin. Good for layering for sure

Very affordable sweet coconut-forward scent, which was a little surprising because I thought this would be a very straightforward vanilla & caramel scent due to the name and packaging, and that is why I just blind bought it since it's so cheap as well. This is kiiiind of like Coconut Passion by Victoria Secret because of the coconut and the vanilla background, and I LOVE Coconut Passion so I like this too, I just didn't expect there to be any coconut. Predictably, it doesn't last very long at all, but I wouldn't mind wearing this as a day-to-day scent in the summer or layer it with something else. It's cute, sweet but not sickly despite the abundance of sweet notes, affordable (I got this for 6 euros) and coconut-y, but nothing groundbreaking. Edit 22 February 2025: Unfortunately, with time I've come to dislike this and I don't see myself ever wearing it. It starts to make me feel kind of nauseous pretty fast if I'm wearing it by itself, and then it fades to nothing pretty fast so overall it's just not worth it for me, even if it's cheap.

It’s mostly caramel scented to me, I don’t sense much of vanilla in it at all, I don’t know if the caramel drowns out the vanilla or if there’s something wrong with my nose. It has a slightly salty scent to me, kind of like salted caramel, I’m not a huge fan of that, saltiness in fragrances, at least not on me! It’s a quite artificial caramel-y scent, but I don’t think it’s necessarily bad, but I do wish the vanilla would be stronger and more noticeable, and I would prefer it without the saltiness, but that’s me! It’s a very sweet and gourmand fragrance, perhaps a bit too “flat” or a one-note kind of fragrance, but I think it could work well for layering. Or for someone who’s looking for a sweet salted caramel scent/fragrance! I haven’t given up entirely, I will put it away for now and see if it gets better with a bit of rest!

This is straight-up Hawaiian Tropic suntan oil circa 1976. I got it to layer with other fragrances that needed added sweetness, but this is just coconut with a dash of vanilla. Which is fine, if that is what you're looking for, and the price makes it difficult to complain. I might try layering it with cheapies like Yara Tous, but, I don't want to insult my pricier scents by combining them with this, if that makes any sense. It's not gross or stinky or offensive, and it's not weak. Probably great for summer outings and such. I paid less than $8 on Fragrancenet.

Super sweet and syrupy on the drydown, but that fades within 30 seconds and the coconut totally takes over on my skin. The coconut in this is pretty musty and it reminde me of a cheap coconut car freshener from the early 2000s. Finally after about 15 minutes, the toffee and vanilla start coming through, but the musty coconut still lingers for at least another 30 minutes. Has minimal sillage and lasts about 2 hours. Saw that this was compared to BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar which is deeper and sweeter and the coconut is creamier.

At first you get a burnt caramel scent, then it the vanilla becomes a little more prominent but in a very synthetic way. It's longevity is ridiculous, it completely wears off in about half an hour. I'd also like to add that this definitely irritated my skin (itchiness and redness), so I checked the ingredients... IT CONTAINS YELLOW 5! It's so unnecessary to put coloring in fragrances imo, but here we are. I'm not touching this ever again. 3/10

Very synthetic, syrupy sweet vanilla scent. Linear and not very complex at all, it smells like a vanilla scented candle to me, very waxy. I'm usually a big fan of sweet smells, but it's so synthetic. Can't expect much quality taking the price into consideration, I guess! I don't get any coconut and I do smell some toffee, but again, very synthetic, not as buttery or warm as other gourmand perfumes. Weak sillage and lasts long on me.

I'm almost about to finish the bottle and i love the smell, I got multipile compilments as i was wearing this. After a while aside from vanilia and syrup i noticed that it kinda smells like milk in a good way, but unfortunatly this is this has a horrible longevity I had to reapply this every hour. I dont even think this lasts any longer than 30 minutes, I would'nt buy it again

I was expecting a harsh alcoholic opening from such a cheapie and honestly, that's probably my favorite part. It reminds me of liquor-filled chocolates(but make it toffee). As it dries down it turns into a simple vanilla caramel scent. I have zero complaints especially for this price cute

This smelled so good on paper, but on my skin it becomes distinctly air freshener-y. It’s not bad, but not particularly wearable for me, as it’s very caramel/vanilla, but not very sexy, clean, or edible. I’ll see how it smells if I spray it on clothing rather than skin.

This is the perfect winter cozy at home kind of perfume. Its a bit sweet, buttery, caramel popcorn smelling deliciousness. I dont wear this out, but at home after a nice warm bath, i put this on and and just want to curl up in a blanket and be cozy

I loved it at first, but now I can't stand it. At the beginning, it had this sirupy caramel scent to it, but now I mostly smell the alcohol in it. It's really just a gamble based on the price point.

It’s cheap but it doesn’t really last to be honest. And the sillage doesn’t exist. Not worth even a penny. I bought it few months ago and let it sit and macerate but it’s still not too good.
