Nota Sugar

I have over 200 + FB and yet nothing like this. I love fruity floral in the warmer months and this is the first scent I adore the pineapple note. It doesn't overtake the scent as is the case so often with pineapple. The coconut lends a lactonic feel and paired with the musk, helitrope and tonka it's quite pleasant but doesn't get too loud of cloying. I love this but then again I look for fragrances that don't shout. This one will draw attention if you're in it's trail or within arms length of your bubble. It does smell like a fluffy Pina Colada but better. I wish I had sniffed the HOS scent most are comparing it too but sadly I have not. If you like tropical scents this is a good one, if you adore lactonic scents, you'll want to sample this. Not necessarily a true groumand but IMO the perfect balance between groumand notes and fruity/floral. I think this will be perfect for summer and the longevity is very good. At least 8-10 hrs and on textiles, days. Don't let the naysayers sway you, sample this. It's beautiful!

Yummy delicious Caramel covered sweet juicy pineapple , it's warm and sweet but not cloying at all . Sooo juicy . Like perfect summer gourmand. Like a Pina Colada but with caramel , perfect balance of juicy fruitiness and sticky sweet gourmand looove

I don’t understand how folks are saying this doesn’t last?... I’ve literally had to wash this out of my hair the next day from only spraying around my neck. Nota is sweet and potent. Over-spraying extraits will make you go nose blind quick.

It’s 2004 and you just purchased one of Jessica Simpson’s whipped body creams from her edible dessert line. Anyone wondering why Nota Sugar is nostalgic that’s probably why- it’s an early 2000s “it girl” in a bottle.

This does smell like a caramelized minnie from HOS with this light juicy sweet pineapple note added 😋 it this is good!!!!

Starts off as strong pineapple - syrupy, loud, sticky. Then, it becomes a younger sister to Vacation by Arquiste - tropical, beachy, sunscreeny. However the drydown does verge on nail polish remover, in that it's alcohol heavy and a bit screechy. This is a summer scent through and through. It projects like mad and it lasts absolutely forever. It will enter the room before you do. The price point is wild.

This is good, but I’m not sure if it’s full bottle worthy or not. It smells very nostalgic to me. I’ve definitely smelled this before and the only thing that comes to mind is a sun tan lotion(not sunscreen) that I used to wear in the early 2000’s.

It's a sweet perfume with a tropical twist but dies down within 4 hours on skin. Dry down is a melted caramel hug. If you like sweet perfumes that aren't over the top then this one is worth a try.

at first the smell reminded me of some types of gummy candy (the smell of haribos) and then it settles down and gets a more subtle fruity musk smell

I really like the drydown on this—it’s like a clean, berry pineapple lotion lol. But that first spray? Wild Berry GoGurt.😭

I agree with the previous few reviews. Soapy and sweet at the same time, from the incredibly screechy pineapple. Initial blast is a typical buttercream like Madera Omnia or Bianco Latte, but seconds later it becomes a very synthetic pineapple candy. If you'd compare a banana to a Banana Skid candy or a Jaffy Taffy you would be on point. Smells cheap and childish and as other reviewers said, a bit shampoo-ish. Mind you I usually very much enjoy vulgar gourmands. This one is simply not well done. I do not recommend it, I will wear it though because I'm trash like that. By the way, Ulyka is suspiciously close to our Scandinavian word "olycka"/"ulykke" which literally means an accident. As in a traffic collision. Quite fitting.

Strong blast of pineapple right off the bat, it made me cough when I put it up to my nose but it soon mellowed and other notes came forward. I can smell coconut too especially if I think of it but despite the pineapple and coconut this doesn’t come across as a “piña colada” fragrance like I’ve heard online. The caramel in this or at least the way it interacts with the pineapple has a very synthetic butter note to it. So it’s almost like a pineapple flavored buttered popcorn. It’s not repulsive but is not worth the price point. It’s definitely wearable in spring but the entire fragrance screams summer by the pool.

It’s not terrible, but it definitely took me back to my late teen/early 20s years of tanning beds. I swear it smells so much like it could be a Designer Skin tanning lotion. That tropical, pineapple type base with a thick lotion-like smell. That being said, I just cannot enjoy this scent as a perfume. Do I find it offensive? On first spray, yes actually - it really comes at you hard and loudly, but dry down, no, it mellows out quite a bit. Would I seek this out or recommend it? No.

This is a very shy, quiet tropical fragrance. The coconut and pineapple aren’t necessarily evident on my skin but there’s a fruitiness there. Mostly, especially in the dry down, it has a powdery aspect with fruit in the very background. It’s fluffy and musky. This fragrance is very gentle and somewhat sweet. I bet it blossoms a lot sweeter in the summer months. Right now, it’s winter so I’ll have to revisit this later this year. All in all, a very pleasant fragrance 🍍🥥☁️☁️

It smells a lot like HOS Minnie Mouse, with a ton more caramel. Very thick fragrance, I could see this being headache-inducing for some. It certainly doesn't smell bad, but at the same time I am not understanding the hype. I get no pineapple, no coconut. Just a thick caramel and artificial raspberry. I prefer the raspberry in PDM Oriana with a little bit of tartness, and I think that would have been helpful to counter the heavy caramel in this one.

The first spray for me was like a cheese danish... which, I like cheese danishes, but I'd rather eat one than slather it on my arms. I'm not getting pineapple yogurt like a lot of reviewers, though I can see where they're coming from. The tropical notes are very present, and I think the combination of coconut and base notes are what give it a lactonic presence. I don't hate it, but I also don't love it.

This smells like caramel candies dipped in pineapple syrup and sugar. It’s very interesting scent and I like it. I just feel it’s little too simple and basic for the price it is. It could make someone sick wearing this perfume on a hot day. I think this perfume would be great for younger age girls. I also don’t find it unisex.

Opening: It starts off nice — almost fooled me with the first sniff. Dry Down: Turns into a flat, syrupy mess. Completely loses its charm and feels like a bait-and-switch. Verdict: Not worth the money. Disappointing overall

The initial spray and first thirty seconds do somewhat remind me of Roja Lost in Paris (it is the butter accord), but don’t let it fool you, this is where similarities end. What you get afterwards is a synthetic smelling aroma that smells nothing even remotely close to Lost in Paris. Luckily, this has no sillage and I can only smell the chemical mess when I put my nose directly on the spot where I have tried this. Very synthetic and very poor performance.

This is the most sour fragrance I have ever smelled! I thought I was going to be sick when I first sprayed it. It took a good hour and a half for it to calm down, but even after that, and for the length of the fragrance's life I would still get wafts of sourness. It smelled very artificial until the drydown, at which point it was a skinscent and nice, but I would have to put my nose to my arm to smell anything. A definite pass for me.

Big flakes of crystalline sugar. Pineapple lifesavers. Acetone. Synthetic butter flavoring. A plastic beach ball. Kombucha. It's a mess of things that just doesn't come together for me. And it lasts all of 5 minutes.

It's soapy and sweet in the same time if that's a thing. I don't like it at all. Long lasting but unfortunately not my cup of tea.

My initial dalliance with Nota Sugar was met with a tentative agreement with the chorus of acclaim. It seemed, at first whiff, to embody a saccharine charm that could captivate even the most discerning of noses. However, upon further acquaintance, the spell began to falter. On a subsequent day, I found myself revisiting this potion, and to my dismay, it conjured an image most unbecoming: that of an automobile air freshener, its synthetic sweetness an affront to my senses. The third encounter was, regrettably, the final nail in this fragrant coffin. Spraying it upon an empty stomach proved a grievous error, as the cloying aroma morphed into a nauseating specter. I was besieged by visions of an oversized air freshener draped about my neck, emanating a most wretched stench. For those whose predilections lean towards chemical, overhyped gourmands, Nota Sugar may indeed be a delight. However, for the discerning connoisseur, this perfume is naught but a perfidious impostor, masquerading as a gem amidst a sea of mediocrity. Its fleeting charm quickly dissipates, leaving behind an odious trail of synthetic lamentation. Nota Sugar is a cautionary tale for those bewitched by the ephemeral allure of popular acclaim. It serves as a reminder that beneath the gilded veneer of hype, one may find only the hollow echo of disappointment.

Honestly one of the most disgusting fragrances I have ever had the misfortune to smell. I do not like sweet or gourmand scents, but even if I don't like them, I can tell if they are well-made or not. This one is decidedly not. Without knowing this has a pineapple note in it, it smelled like a weirdly sour caramel + sugar + waffle scent. Now knowing it has pineapple, it makes more sense but it's still gross. The pineapple is fairly realistic, which is pretty much the only thing I will give it. Smells like a child was given the ingredients to make any perfume they wanted, and they wanted it SWEET. Dries down relatively powdery; once the aggressive fruit and sweet notes have faded a bit and have released you from their chokehold, you can smell the heliotrope and musk. What an odd mix of notes. Absolutely nuclear projection, unfortunately for all of my coworkers today. I used literally half a spray, dabbed on my skin by touching the atomizer directly to my wrist, and I am filling the room. Revolting. .5/10.

The notes led me to believe that this would be lovely; however, this is a very cheap, fragrance that seems like a bathroom freshener that you'd find at gas stops while on long highway trips. Not all gourmands are good.

Love the fragrance - strong then wears down sweet. The atomizer stopped working after a few days. Looks like the tube inside is too long and stopping from getting any fragrance.

Synthetic chemical mess that smells like cheap fruity shampoo.

This smells like a piña colada smoothie with caramel drizzle. As good as it smells, I feel like it’s just a fun temporary fragrance, nothing serious or posh (nothing wrong with that at all) so it’s perfect for summer, perfect to spray over slathered sun block, perfect to sweat in and perfect for river walks, barbecues, beer gardens and ordering extra powdered funnel cakes from food trucks. I’m not into tropical scents so this is definitely a biased review but in all honesty, it does smell really nice.

Open up SUPER lactonic like a pineapple/peach yogurt! Then within 10 minutes or less you begin to get a sweeeet pineapple syrup/nectar juice! It’s warm, similar to like the juice of cut up pineapples after being grilled/caramelized. I don’t get lots of caramel more just this sweet nectar ! But I say all this to say it’s delicious’ this is not a pina colada like other reviews say. It is exactly how I explained it and it’s delicious

Weak sauce...short-lived and low sillage. Briefly tropical then generic vanilla...and this all lasts about 20 minutes...one might liken it to collegiate sex. Whoever is paying $220 a bottle for this needs to try more vanilla perfumes...lots of better vanilla fish in the sea, friends. That said, STDs are on the rise for multiple age groups so be safe out there as you try those vanillas.

I bought this thanks to Sebastian aka the perfumeguy. It’s a juicy tropical blend with caramel, pineapple and sprinkled almonds. It is beautiful and summery ☀️ love it when I need a sunshine boost! A trick is to layer it with a coconut prominent scent to elevate it to a magical tropical cocktail. I feel like being right there in a magical Maldives spot — paradise 😍

Reminds me of some sort of sweet sun tan lotion or oil I’ve smelled before. Very artificial. I don’t really like the smell of sun tan oil, especially when it’s done like this, so I didn’t enjoy it but if you do and want one that’s very sweet then you may enjoy this. Performance and longevity are very poor though, fades to a skin scent within minutes.

I smelled this at Scent Bar in DTLA, and I find it beautiful! They were sold out otherwise I would have bought myself a bottle so quick! It’s delicious! It’s fruity, creamy, caramely delicatessen, but also a beautiful perfume! It’s easy to wear, nothing crazy going on here. It can be jovial or worn by someone older.

To my nose, this smells like a mashup of HOS Minnie mouse and FB Ylang Ylang. Has the same tropical, burnt sugar, lotion-y scent as Ylang Ylang. Thankfully, I ordered a sample of this before purchasing a FB. I own both of the above mentioned fragrances so I'll just layer them together and save myself $220.

Great lasting power. Super sour. HATED it at first yet I keep sniffing my wrist. Cant decide if I want to buy a FB or not. I’ll definitely use my sample though. Edit: Highly unlikely to buy but it's interesting. Would love it without the pineapple note.

I really like the grilled pineapples I’m getting from this. Drizzled in caramel. No one else in my house liked it I got “it’s terrible smells like yogurt!”And that it was “a boring coconut” smell. Hah! I still want a bottle though I like it!

I have a sample that’s been sitting around for a while. It smells just like a warm caramelized pineapple. I would def buy a full bottle to have in my collection if it weren’t so expensive. (Also if pineapple was my fave scent, but it’s not)

I got a sample and loved it. I finally got a full bottle for a good deal. Smells like delicious pineapple upside down cake. I have nothing in my collection that smells like this. Longevity is decent like 5-6 hours on my skin.

This is a 10/10 for me personally. I hate fresh coconut forward summer scents or anything sunscreeny as I am a gourmand girlie through and through. Nota sugar is a knockout its so delicious but I would sample it first.

The comment below about smelling like yogurt is spot on. It smells like a very sweet cheap fruit yogurt.... It's not baaaad but I mean I don't want to smell like yogurt so it's a pass for me.

It sort of reminds me of a tropical suntan oil that I smelled when I was a kid. It’s not bad, but it does fade sort of fast and it wears close to skin.

Smells a lot like hair grease. Anyone remember African Pride? Not sure if I want to smell like Black haircare. ETA: Staying power is dismal.

I wanted to love this, but it pulled way too floral on me. I wanted a pineapple sundae, but I got a basket full of heliotrope instead.

Def get the Minnie Mouse comparison but the lower quality more plasticy Dapper version. It smells like plastic pineapple cough syrup.

Not awful but reminds me of the Jelly Belly car freshener I once had. There are better executed sugars/fruity frags.

So yummy...warm creamy caramel but yet has a different twist. I smell NO suntan lotion. Longevity fair.

Everyone said I smelled like pineapple yogurt and that turned me off, lol. Cause they were right!
