Nota Vanilla

It’s very powerful nutty scent with a lovely milky vanilla in the base. It’s very rich and bold (and yeah quite synthetic, lots of coumarin I guess), so for my nose it’s a bit too harsh. My ig: scent.guide

Opens with a sharp blast of salted hazelnuts and sweet musk... I think? A strange synthetic blend that smells like a loud TV static version of the listed notes. The first 15 minutes I’m just confused, trying to make this fragrance fit its notes like a square peg in a round hole. Dries down nutty, musky, and sweet, but like a forgotten cup of almond gelato left in the sun at the beach.

It’s fine. It’s verrrry nutty and the chocolate note is very nicely done. However....there is a musky note in the background that is not pleasant and it ruins the whole experience ☹️ For frags of that type, I recommend Le Gourmand by Jousset. No musk but that Nutella note is divine!

it's like you vividly dream up a freshly baked shortbread cookie with roasted peanuts, and you just about to eat it, but then it is a nightmare and the cookie eats you instead, its nutty crumbling teeth around, and you're desperate to wake up.

This hurts my nose. With the name Nota Vanilla I was expecting, uh, vanillla. Which I guess is in there somewhere. But the predominant odor is something synthetic and vaguely nutty with a generic rubbing alcohol overtone. In fact, after I received this as a free sample-size atomizer, but before I'd even opened the box it came in, I noticed the alcohol scent permeating the room for a couple of weeks. I thought maybe one of my other 9-mL decants was suffering from a faulty cap mechanism and releasing the fragrance, but after sniffing everything, I couldn't identify the source. It never occurred to me that this sample within the unopened box could be the culprit! Honestly the rubbing alcohol note is the most pleasant part about this one.

In a world of olfactory nightmares, I've encountered a scent so bewildering, it's like a synthetic nougat and hazelnut symphony gone horribly wrong. Who authorized this aromatic abomination? Was there a secret committee dedicated to crafting the most perplexing fragrance known to humanity? One whiff, and I'm left questioning the very foundations of perfumery, wondering if this is some elaborate practical joke designed to assault our unsuspecting nostrils. why? Just why?

In my first sprays I thought there was something delicious and possible to love yet something held me back, I waited a week to smell my sample again and wow. Lovely and atrocious. There is a wonderful hazelnut aroma here but it is nauseating, it's almost feels like a coincidence that it smells good? This isn't wearable and I wouldn't wish this upon anyone. I sound dramatic but what is good here is also terrible. Bizarre!

The reviews saying that this smells like a toxic chemical are spot on. I've smelt the same smell in a handful of perfumes and am yet to figure out the common denominator originally I thought it ambroxan or iso super E but the only common thing I've seen is whipped cream, but it surely can't be that. Possibly the hazelnut? Must be some synthetic note in here that I cannot stomach.

I have never been traumatized by a gourmand before. It smells like something I shouldn't be smelling, like a toxic chemical that happens to smell like a Nutella milkshake. All the notes are present; it just smells like someone spilled it on carpet covered in black mold. I had to scrub my hand with mint soap to get it off me.

This opens with a delicious photorealistic hazelnut nougat blast that got me very excited about the perfume, but unfortunately on my skin it turned into a super musky almost soapy ambery scent. I’ve never had such a dramatic change from top to bottom notes before :( I saw a similar review on TikTok so I know I’m not alone

Immediately smelled butter / popcorn, almond/nuts, and sticky almost caramel vanilla (probably the nougat). It’s a creamy fragrance that leans far into waxy synthetic candle territory. I’ve tried my sample twice now (months apart) and find it nauseating. Super Hershey’s chocolate lip smacker. Hate it!

Not for me. I get a very medicinal note from this that’s very strong and nauseating. It’s probably the hazelnut note but this to me is awful. One thing I will say is this scent unfortunately lasts so long and has staying power. I’ve tried scrubbing it off and it seems to have adhered to my skin.

It comes off very screechy/nose burning to me. Sprayed on blotter and hoped it would develop better on skin and I couldn’t scrub it off fast enough. It took me using my body exfoliating scrub to get the scent off. The only fragrance that has done this to my nose was Vanilla Powder.

This is awful from the very beginning. You get hit with a pungent smell of hazelnuts soaking in spoiled milk. I didn't even give this a chance to develop. I scrubbed it right off.

Something here went sideways. Whatever it is that is attempting to imitate the nutty top is a chemical mess.

This is horrendous. It screams it is so loud and screechy. No vanilla just a salted mess.

This perfume is so beautifully blended. You can distinguish all the notes but its so smooth. Its a nice gourmand that can transition you from cold to warm weather.
