Chemin D'Amande

I am so privileged to receive the VERY FIRST BOTTLE of Une Nuit Nomade's new release, Chemin D'Amandes! It's an Extrait de Parfum and it's INCREDIBLE. So here is my review and I'm thrilled to share it with you all. Especially since there is no other brand that consistently delivers such superlative quality fragrances at a reasonable price. The premise of the fragrance is that a Moorish king vanquished the north of Portugal and brought back to the Algarve the beautiful Princess Gilda. He was kind to her and won her heart. However, over the months she pined for her homeland and in particular missed the beauty of the snow, of which there was none in the Algarve. Then a farmer came forward with an idea to plant thousands of almond trees around the castle. When the almond trees bloomed into a sea of white petals, she found her light again and all was well. Since that day, the Algarve has been renowned for its almond trees in bloom in the spring. To describe this fragrance I would liken it to eating a bowl of crunchy almond wheat cereal. As a teenager when I was ravenous, a bowl of such cereal in cold milk would be the MOST delicious thing on the planet, hence why so many people have cereal for dinner. It's sooooo delicious, creamy and almondy. It actually does have notes of wheat that are very prominent. It's such an unusual scent, the likes of which I've never experienced before. If you're a gourmand lover, you absolutely can't go past this fragrance. The closest scent I have in my collection to this is my Maison Alhambra's Sensual Vanilla dupe of TF's Vanilla Sex, though this is far more delicious and much better quality. Performance and longevity are great due to the high concentration of perfume oil. I give this fragrance 4.5 stars out of 5. Not quite 5 because Estrella de la Manana is still my favourite and a straight up gourmand can do nothing to dethrone the magnificent and heavy vanilla ambers that are my calling. Also in my Une Nuit Nomade personal pantheon are Ambre Khandjar, Jardins de Misfah, Click Song, Suma Oriental, Love at First Sight and Rose America. I was over the moon to be contacted and asked if I wanted to sample this fragrance. I love Une Nuit Nomade as a company, so was quick to reply. Chemin D’amande or Almond Path opens with a very realistic crushed almond scent, a little bitter and a little sweet. I get the almond blossom as it dries down and the scent becomes sweeter and creamier. The vanilla and woody then notes join in. This is a soft, cozy and comforting embrace on a cold, dreary day. It has almost a slight oat like vibe to it. This is perfectly unisex and well suited to spring, autumn or winter. This is part of their Extrait collection. The sillage and longevity are both very good. I LOVE the scent bubble this creates around me. There is a story behind the fragrance but I can’t find it online, since this isn’t yet available. Definitely worth checking this one out if you enjoy sweet almond/oat/vanilla fragrances. 10/10 I personally love this one. It does remind me of Confetto by Sulmona Essenza which I love, although I’m sure that’s much sweeter. It also reminds me of Harvest Mouse by Zoologist but without the beer note. Again I’ll update this review once I have tested them all side by side. I’ll likely sell my Harvest Mouse and replace it with this! Either way I will be adding this to my collection and already have it on pre-order for the release! This is absolutely nothing like Bianco latte!

Chemin D'Amande is such a cozy, very natural almond- wheat smelling gourmand, reminding me a bit of a sweetened oat milk (for some reason, I get more oat than almond milk vibes here). This smells so wholesome, comforting and maternal and makes me think of autumnal fields of wheat bathed in the golden light of sunset. While I love this - and the packaging I'm beyond smitten with - I can also tell I would have to really be in the mood to wear this, and not sure how often I'd realistically reach for it, as I always initially LOVE almond scented things but also grow weary of them quickly, so I'm hesitant to purchase this. If it came in one of their lovely 25 ml sprays, I'd be all over it! I want to test this more in cooler weather, however, as I think this is one that would really shine in the fall and winter, and that might likely put me in the mood for this more often. Chemin D'Amande is a VERY well done, pretty and innocent almond-wheat scent with good tenacity! And ohhhh, what a BEAUTIFUL bottle!! Maybe I do need an almond scent in my collection after all....;-) And huzzah!! It’s now available in the 25 ml size!! Happy daaance 💃

Sampling Une Nuit Nomade Chemin D’Amande, a release in the Extrait collection from 2025 that’s a spicy, boozy, dark, sweet blend with principal notes of bourbon vanilla, wheat, and almond, all of which track quite well, as there are powdery, hearty, and nutty tones to the largely boozy center. This seemed to be one of the standouts of ScentXplore and I can see why after doing a proper sampling today. It has a great density and richness to it, and I do not feel that any one element is used excessively, giving the feeling that it has been carefully considered as a composition. It provides a bit of an amaretto vibe, too, via the interplay of the three main notes, and there’s a vaguely woody varnish aspect underneath what is largely a gourmand experience. It’s priced at $310/$195 for 100/50ml and sold in the US at various boutiques like Luckyscent and ZGO and performs very well. Overall, I love it, it’s right up my alley, and I will have to put some thought into a bottle after trying it out a bit more 8 out of 10

The perfume opens with a soft, luminous almond note — not overly sweet, more like freshly cracked almonds or almond flour than sugary syrup. As almond is blended with wheat absolute (heart) and bourbon vanilla (base), Chemin d’Amande avoids the cloying sweetness that often plagues almond-heavy perfumes. The result: an almond scent that feels cozy and mildly gourmand but stays grounded and mature — more like almond pastry dough or marzipan than candy. If you don’t enjoy almond cookies, marzipan, or vanilla-wrapped nuts, this may not be for you. If you prefer airy, floral-almond, or minimalist scents, Chemin d'Amande might feel heavy or too gourmand. But if you like rich, cozy, comforting almond, this one is among the best I’ve encountered in the niche space. Its balance of realistic almond character, gentle gourmand warmth, refined unisex vibe and niche-perfumer artistry makes it one of the best elevated almond scents on the market today.

I’m not always a fan of gourmand or almond notes but this fragrance blew me away. It’s like a flaky almond croissant, with a crisp crunchy smelling almond and a prominent caramelized wheat note. It really reads as carmalized wheat with a slightest hint of incense spiciness at the finish. Definitely not a huge dose of the Ethyl maltol sweetness a lot of scents use for caramel. There’s an airy floral back drop that stops this from being just a photorealistic gourmand- it’s also not as heavy as I thought it would be given the notes. It just melds into warm skin beautifully. I agree with the commenter below- this is what I had hoped Italica by Xerjoff would smell like. I will be picking up a bottle in the Fall, I think it’s perfect for cozy seasons but is likely too cloying for Summer.

The opening is a beautiful almond smell that reminded me of almond liquor. As time passes the fragrance starts evolving to a soft and sweet nutty floral scent where the almond smell is prominent but well blended giving a velvety texture. The drydown is the bes part of thi experience. A dry wood mixed with not overly sweet vanilla-almond scent. It is a beautiful not excessive sugary/edible gourmand that has a soft evolution. Longevity 7/10 Sillage 4/10 Autumn/Winter/Spring. Day Night (spring) In my opinion, is a daytime fragrance, office friendly since it doesn't project strongly. During spring I would wear it at night since is not as warm for cool seasons.

The Wheat Absolute note is missing here on Fragrantica!!! (The official notes only list almond, wheat and vanilla) ... And the Wheat absolute is what makes this perfume really stand out to me, and why I wanted to add it to my collection! It’s got a dense almond cookie sweetness in the opening, that I adore more each day, but it fades out quickly enough to reveal this simple but nonetheless sophisticated and intoxicating mingling of wheat and vanilla. It’s not a dry wheat, it’s creamy and delicate. You know how a box of wheat thins smells kind of sweet? Dare I say, again, it’s far more sophisticated than that. Very soft, warm and cozy. Absolutely gorgeous.

I've been on the hunt for a comforting scent that is overly gourmand and I came across this scent when I was exploring almond scents. After a few wears, it's an understatement that Chemin D'Amande makes my top 5 favourite gourmand scents of all time. It's a gorgeous, almond scent with whiffs of wheat and vanilla that is the perfect amount of sweet, airy and addictive. "Toasted sweet almonds on a flaky, buttery croissant with notes of oat milk" is how I'd describe Chemin D'Amande. Creamy without being too cloying or sickly sweet. This scent shines especially during colder months and I am falling in love with it a little bit more at every wear.

Wore mine to the office ( I don't think it's marketed as office-friendly but I didn't care ) and my coworkers said I smell delicious but not in a cloying way. I definitely get the vanilla almond croissant or marzipan vibes but for some reason in the tropical heat where I live, it kind of develops into a decadent dark chocolate-like aura after 3-4 hours. 7 hours in I can still smell it on myself but my coworker next to me said she couldn't smell me anymore. TL;DR: Vanilla almond croissant meets marzipan, starts developing dark chocolate notes 3-4 hours in only in the tropics, sillage becomes barely perceivable after 7 hours.

Enchanting! Warm, cosy, pretty, carefree, yummy. Imagine a woman in a fluffy jumper dress, ankle boots and classic trench coat over her shoulders, sitting in a sunny park under a blossom tree eating ice cream, as she watches swirling petals flutter on the breeze. I get every facet of almond - the blossoms, fresh almonds, almond dessert, almond milk and even the tree bark! It has a slightly dense quality, but wearing it now in the cool spring air, it makes me feel safe, light and airy. Could feel too heavy in summer, but absolutely a comfort scent and easy spring reach...✨ 🌸✨

This is a very lightly toasted almond covered with the thinnest coat of sugar and spices (maybe cinnamon or muscade it's hard to tell because it's so discreet). For sure you won't get nausea with this : the sweetness is spot on and overall the scent is very quiet and grounded with no powdery feeling. At times, I sense kind of a play-doh reminescence (almond vanilla) but a very elegant version, with soft woody and cereal notes in the background. In the ultimate drydown I smell rice notes, which makes me love the fragrance even more. Such a lovely and savory fragrance.

A really well rounded almond forward scent. The wheat really compliments the rest of the scent, and I believe I can pickup on a slight hint of boozy notes as well. This brand was a big hit for me and many others at scentxplore 2025, all the scents are extremely high of quality and really thought out. Only downside to the scent is the price and projection. 50ml for $190 and $310 for 100ml respectively. For the price, I really wish it projected more than being a soft and intimate fragrance. Lasts well however, around 7-10 hours. I really enjoyed this one. 8.3/10

My first post so bear with me all....Love at first sniff , it’s a very cozy kind of experience and very addictive ! I literally wear it to bed as it’s like a huge hug. ! The opening for me is like liquid almonds but then turns into smooth almond paste mellowing into almost powder, so good. I dislike typical gourmand fragrances as I personally don’t want to smell like a dessert , but this to me is not gourmand just well blended , elegant , refined and rich. I typically get 4-5 hours with moderate projection .

This is one of the most disappointing fragrances for me. I bought the 4x2.5ml discovery set and immediately wanted to purchase this one after smelling it on the card. The scent is a 10/10 for me, outstanding bready almond gourmand. However the performance is terrible. I sprayed the entire 2.5ml out in one evening, this fragrance has zero sillage and lasted less than 1hr on skin. On garments it fades within 15minutes.

The blend of almond, vanilla and wheat notes makes this perfume unbelievably addictive. The more I smell it, the more obsessed I become. There’s something so soft, warm and comforting about it, yet at the same time incredibly seductive. It’s definitely one of those fragrances that will always stay among my all-time favorites. A scent I never get tired of smelling 🤍

Beautiful creamy nutty vibe and love for the first sniff! In the beginning marzipan like but soon transforming into vanilla almond body butter kind of scent. Sweetness in perfect balance. Cozy, uplifting and inoffensive (at least if moderately sprayed). I just received a sample and will probably go for a full bottle <3 perfectly unisex!

This is sooooo delicious! If you love a yummy vanilla and want a little something different but still a cozy scent like your vanilla gourmand, this is it. I want to eat my arm when I'm wearing it. Still pretty like a perfume with great longevity and sillage. I would repurchase when this gets low. Great for layering also.

Also: quick sidenote about the origin of the legend behind the concept of the fragrance: Portugal already existed but at the time that the city Silves was called Chelb, the country was being occupied by the moors. The country was conquered/colonized/invaded/occupied by the moors roughly from 700 to 1250.

My love Chemin d’Amande — soft, creamy, delicious, and so elegant. It’s that addictive almond hug that I just can’t resist. Every time I wear it, it feels comforting, cozy, and effortlessly beautiful. Truly one of my sweetest obsessions. Long lasting, intimate sillage though ❤️

Almond extract that's priced $30 per oz. What differentiates it from cheaper alternatives? The almonds are soaked in a bath of pure Madagascar vanilla extract. Each almond is then crushed by hand by a 70 year old woman named Dimitra. It takes a lot to get an extract this good.

A Dry and wheat like almond. Softens to a floral heart. Not too sweet which makes it much more nuanced than these typical boozey cherry almonds of late. As it dries down I get a much more croissant like scent. Buttery and flaky. I find this quite beautiful and unique. 10-10

Gorgeous and a must-try for almond lovers. This is mature, rich almond with creamy, slightly boozy vanilla. Elegant but still cozy. Not too sweet. Just a touch of bitterness in the opening. I can wear this day or night and have received compliments from others.

What a stunning fragrance, another immediate love for me! So beautifully crafted. The almond and vanilla work so well together and there is definitely a buttery quality which I love. This is perfect for the Australian winter that we are in right now 👌

Bitter almonds. They nailed it. So-so good if you like bitter almonds essence. I will save my sample to try again in autumn because I think it's too heavy to be worn in summer. I think this will be the new "hype" for Autumn 2025.

Tried this sample and this smells like a powdery De La Rosa Mazapan, this Mexican peanut candy. With some cherry nuances. It remains that way for the duration of its life . Simple but comforting . A love for me

I’m not getting any frangipane, not sure how that reviewer is getting that from this. This is a lovely almond with no hints of cherry. Just a beautiful almond blossom with a woody touch.

Love it. This is well-balanced, nutty perfume. Airy & fresh almond with a hint of floral touch, not salty. Unisex & all-year round. Long lasting but with soft moderate sillage.

At first spray i liked it, then in few days i couldnt stand the heavy sweetness anymore, too much sugary and annoying to my nose. Couldnt even finish the sample.

Lovely play doh scent that evokes beautiful childhood memories💗 So glad this perfume exists.. Lasts a long time but doesn't project much.

Picture Celine Dans Paris, then replace the vanilla with more almond (still has that vanilla base). Very similar, equally as beautiful.

I didn’t think I liked gourmands but on me this smells like a waffle cone from COWS ice cream and I love wearing it.

Reminds me of soie Malaquais. Not the same but same vibes. Beautiful powdery, nutty and slightly floral.

sensational mature almond and slightly smoky wood

Ooooh this is an intriguing fragrance! On first sniff, I was surprised to smell something chemically and also like a musty drawer (I get that from sandalwood sometimes, even though it's not listed as a note here, I could swear it's in it). But then as I sniffed more, I could get the almonds and once or twice almost a marzipan, and the vanilla in the background. I also sense something smokey, like a campfire, and nutmeg, and once a cold stone. Also a dusty and dry smell (maybe that's the wheat). It's quite bitter to me as well. So many layers here. It really draws you in. It's not a fragrance that made me immediately roll my eyes back in my head and think, "I have to have this!" but I keep smelling and smelling and wanting to know more about it. It becomes a skin scent pretty quickly on me. The dry down smells very much like campfire. It really is a cozy scent, I agree with the many people who have said the same. Then after the campfire phase, when it's barely detectable, it smells really delicately sugary. I wish I could magnify that more earlier in the fragrance. But still it has been a delightful and unexpected olfactory journey. Chemin makes me want to try Jour de Fete even more, which I had not heard of until recently and I know is discontinued, alas! OK - I am now addicted to this perfume. I've gone through half my sample in a few days. I'm a little bit new to perfumes in terms of variety (I've always liked the standard designer ones), and I'm finding that the perfumes that end up having me in a chokehold are not the ones that I immediately think "OK, this one is a no-brainer FBW love" - but more the ones that are like, "Hmmm, ok...interesting, what is this?" And then after a few wears I'm like a hopeless junkie and completely obsessed. What stands out to me for this one is that it's a gourmand and satisfies that "cozy food" vibe I want, but it doesn't make me hungry. My other gourmands are sweet and make me want to shove an entire cake into my pie hole pronto. I will say also that after my initial journey with it, it now mostly smells like an almond pastry to me from start to finish, and I still absolutely love it. I miss the twists and turns I smelled on my initial wear (especially the campfire!), but I still love how it smells to me now. I'm definitely putting this on my wish list. Lord help me with this obsession!

On my skin, Chemin D'Amande unfolds as a VERY strong, ultra-realistic, dry, powdery, yeasty, buttery, straight-up almond-centric fragrance. As an aside, lately I have sampled and/or own several other tonka-forward and almond-forward fragrances. Few of them, if any are as photorealistic a fragrance as is Chemin D'Amande. There is something about the "wheat accord," which is not listed on Fragrantica that takes this extrait to an other-worldly dimension. And with that said... I recently repurchased Xerjoff "Italica" x 100ml, a fragrance I absolutely love. And now re-experiencing Italica after being without the perfume for over a year, I can definitely say the openings to Chemin D'Amande and Italica are nearly 99% identical. About 10-15 minutes in is where the two fragrances depart. Uber-gourmand and extremely dense, CdA is LINEAR with a stellar performance right out of the gate. Almond and wheat notes project throughout the entire wear, which is very very lengthy (6+ hours). However, the fragrance becomes softer and somewhat more appealing during the dry-down. I like Chemin D'Amande. But next to Italica, I find CdA somewhat mundane and boring.

I rarely experience this, but sometimes a fragrance unlocks something so vivid that for a second, I seem to drift outside of space and time. I am 15 and its the Christmas break. My best friend is sleeping over, and my parents are away for the evening. We have the house to ourselves. We sneak into my older brother’s room to steal a little from the large bottle of sweet rum he keeps there. How could he possibly notice? We curl up under thick blankets to watch Scarface. It's cold and snowy outside. I am not that interested in the movie, but still I feel incredibly cozy. I am warm besides my friend, sharing a drink and a film just slightly above our age, while eating freshly baked almond cookies. They're soft, fragrant with almond extract, and filled with crunchy nuts. Youth is fleeting, and though we once shared that special season of life together, we are no longer friends. All that remains are soft, delicious souvenirs of that time... lingering like the drydown of this fragrance.

Reminiscent of a Mr Kipling cherry bakewell tart, bordering photorealistic especially in the first stages of this fragrance, some frangipane(almond flavoured cream filling used in bakewell tarts) which is more sweet than it is nutty, I do not get nuttiness personally from this fragrance so leans more to marzipan. 10 minutes or so in I can pick up on that wheat note that ever so slightly changes the fragrance adding a subtle pine wood dryness to it which contrasts the sweetness, not bad, smells nice but not to my personal taste but a marzipan bakewell tart lovers dream. Update- Will probably buy a full bottle as a gift at some point as I know someone who loves the smell of almonds and almond scented stuff, and this is very pleasant as far as an almond fragrance goes. Update to that update- Have been wearing this more on skin, this is settling beautifully on me, will be buying a fb for myself at some point also

Bianco Latte with almond milk—an unexpected comparison, I know, but I can’t help noticing the similarities, even though the notes are completely different. From the very first sniff, almond and wheat overload —bold, bitter, and powdery, as if you’ve landed on a cloud of finely sifted almond flour. As this initial accord softens, the edges get rounded with a delicate creaminess. A touch of sweetness and vanilla weaves through, not overpowering, just enough to hold the composition together. Finally, the dry down reveals a smoky, woody depth—perhaps the bourbon at play.. A beautiful almond fragrance, very harmonious and versatile. I woud wear it any part of the day, any season. Perfectly unisex and a safe blind buy for the lovers of almond and wheat notes!

Gorgeous photorealistic nutty opening. The wheat is very present and rounds the almond off beautifully. Earthy, grounding, calming, serene. The wood note adds the illusion of a very faint spice on my skin. The sweetness emerges in the drydown when the vanilla gains prominence, and unfortunately that's a deal breaker for me. This is my second time sampling, and I can't get past the vanilla. The airiness fades to a weighty vanillic sweetness. It is very well blended though, just not for me. This may be best suited for Fall/Winter or for a cozy/lazy day at home. I'd consider it a skin scent given it's limited projection. Very nice overall, definitely office safe if soft and sweet is your vibe.

I love almond. I love balanced vanillas. So this should have been a hit for me, but when I sprayed it on my skin, it smelled very overpowering. Leathery, smoky and very spicy on my skin chemistry—this might be the spiciest and smokiest perfume I own! I’m keeping it for now to macerate and I’ll come back to it in a few months time to see if I can smell the almond come through eventually. EDIT: Reached for it again, and it has grown on me! The spiciness is still there, but on dry down it smells like almonds, really, teetering on the verge of peanut butter. I'll keep this in my collection just because I'm an almond girl, and I'm learning to tolerate spicy notes on my skin.

Another lovely fragrance... released at the wrong time!! Why do fragrance houses do this?... makes no sense. Anyway, this is a lovely gourmand fragrance that isn’t too heavy on the almond. It’s almost marzipan’y but just stops short of being sickly. Perfect for the cooler months. Can’t wait... only 2 1/2 months to go! 😂. I mean let’s face it, most of the countries in the world at this time of year are hot/warm/sweltering... why not wait to release this when it can shine. Anyway... lovely addition to my collection... although, I fear this scent profile may be becoming redundant.

Bought the sample out of curiosity because I saw some people compered to Jour de Fete. Unfortunately when I smell Chemin it doesn’t reminds me of Jour. (also Prada Amande which I also own is a bit different from Chemin). This one is much more heavier and more dense smell compared to Jour which is famous for its own sheerness. The first thing that comes to my mind when I smelled Chemin was Black Phantom by Kilian. Also almond in Chemin is sweeter and more punchy. Anyway it’s a still nice scent but not the kind of almond perfumes I prefer.

This is the best almond fragrance I’ve smelled so far. It’s as if almond powder is drifting through the air in soft, billowing puffs. There’s also a note that reminds me of a delicious brioche. It’s definitely sweet, but it doesn’t bother me. When I apply it to my hair, it turns a bit smoky, and even slightly tobacco-like. It would be FBW but unfortunately the performance is weaker than I expected. Tag(s): almond milk, creamy, puffy, bread-like, smoky

On my skin, this reads as smoky, spicy, savory almond with the right amount of sweetness. I usually tend to (strongly) dislike vanilla and almond when paired together, but my skin chemistry did something good for me here - this *is* sweet, but also very much not at the same time. The drydown does get sweeter, but also more airy and powdery. Overall, this is very nice - nutty, smoky woods, and especially smooth.

Marzipan like almond scent, not too sweet. Not synthetic. It can be difficult to find a non synthetic almond sometimes but this is it. That's the best almond fragrance I sampled so far. I pretty much just get almond though; floral, spices, not really. For an extrait de parfum it is not so long lasting but if sprayed in my hair it stays there for a while. You'll be able to sniff almond during the entire day.

It smells so much like another perfume but I can’t remember which — which I suppose also goes to say that the style of vanilla here really is a popular/common/likeable one. The almond-ness makes it really cozy and reminds me of Amouage Guidance, BR540, that kind of dna and creaminess. I don’t really get the dry/woody facets on skin, it’s actually very very sweet on me, which is the only downside in my book
